Have any of you heard about the guy living in a rooming house in Toronto who had a pet cobra??? The snake got out of his room and now no one knows where it went!!!! All the residents have had to move out and wildlife people (or whoever) have been taking the walls apart bit by bit trying to find it.....still nothing.....the house is now deemed "unliveable". And some residents are not allowed in to collect their belongings...
I mean hello?? Anyone home upstairs???
So my question is.... should this guy have to pay for the cost of searching the house, rents lost etc.......I think so but I highly doubt the guy has the $$$ if he is living in a rooming house. No disrespect intended! I think it's stupidity at it's worst! I mean PUHLEASE....a COBRA??? As a pet??? The guy must have a few screws loose or needs a good

umm accually when I lived in one apartment a few years back the guy and girl that lived in the basement had several and i mean several exotic pets including snakes.. I lost count after a while how many times one of the snakes would get lose and we'd have to look for it and re cage it, in fact one was such a pain in the ass we accually ended up putting it in hibernation for a while just so we didn't have to look for it every day, nothing like turning around and seeing a snake slither across the floor ... it's not umcommon for cobras to be kept as pets most of the time they have their venom sacks removed and chances are the snake is more scared of the people than they are of it. I don't understand the whole taking the walls apart thou cuz we never found any of her snakes in the walls they most all went for a window where the sun was shining in to sun themselves, I'm guessing someon hit the panic button and that's why they can't find the damn snake!

OMG really??!!!
See, I am not a snake lover so I don't know how you did it! I would be terrified to be see a snake slithering across the floor.
I am guessing that this guy didnt' have the venom sack removed b/c they deemed the place unliveable. But, I don't know that for sure. So, it sounds like they are hacking the walls apart for nothing. I feel badly for the residents. Here's a weird tale.....I worked with someone whose son had a pet tarantula. Well......Charlie (spider of course!) bit the big one and died during the winter. The son wanted to give it a proper burial so my co-worker allowed him to put the corpse in the freezer until the spring! Tarantulas are my BIGGEST phobia out there......I was looking at this woman like....you'e GOT to be kidding?
To each his own, right? But...<shakes head>
I personally wouldn't eat food out of a freezer with a frozen spider corpse inside...
