Hi everyone! So with the news that we will not be closing down the forum, I wanted to make a separate thread for suggestions and improvements to make the forum more active. Looking through the comments earlier and while talking to some people, there were some ideas that were good or may help the forum. 1. Creating a thread/section for discussion like Soompi If you guys have ever used soompi/allkpop forums/hallyu8, there were threads that were dedicated to specific artists, and all the discussion, news, updates were posted in one single thread. I thought this would be a good idea because I know that not many people like to post because they don't know if people will read or reply back to them. So it would be nice to have one thread/topic where members can check often and chat with other people to make posting more fun and friendly. The old topics won't be deleted, but there will be one main thread that people can use to chat. And people can still post in the old topics. If you guys are confused about this, just let me know and I'll link you to examples. Because I don't know how to explain this too well lol But do you guys like topics better because it's more organized, or...? 2. New admins We will not be getting new admins. But someone did suggest a great idea about recruiting members/moderators who are fans of CN Blue, Juniel, AOA, etc. I was thinking of having main/head moderators for all artists including FT Island to be in charge of their own section/artist they're assigned to, and making sure to post and having discussions. 3. Lower the number of words required in a post. I know, not many people like posts count, or having to post with a certain amount of words. So I was thinking of lowering the required number of words to 10 for posts not to be spam. BUT, we'll be increasing total post count to 35 posts in order to see the download section. Well that's all I can think of for now. And if you guys haven't noticed, we changed the shoutbox to a new one, which is hopefully better than the last one! That way, you guys can chat and use it without having to sign in the forum. If you guys can share your comments and ideas, that would be great ;A; Because we would really like to get this forum more active and make it a place where people can talk and meet new fans. And sorry if what my posts say doesn't make sense, my English is not good right now XD lol Thanks everyone!! And enjoy your holidays. |

I am very happy to know that u will not close the fourm coz it really difficult to see an active ftisland fourm except of happy island, & this fourm is too especial 4 me but do u know what is the problem in our fandom that we are not united, now happy island is specialising in subbing ftisland videos but there are alot of other groups who also sub their videos, if all these group united & work only 4 one fourm or blog then it will make it more active & effecient. |

personally I like topics but i think i can understand the appeal of something like what you said. the moderators idea is good...although i would kind of pity the person who has won bin because he's like a ghost *thinks* yeah a ghost although that makes me think of how FNC now has actors and comedians, should the forum incorporate them too? just a thought since the forum is technically FNC as a company or is it FNC as music only? I'm thinking in technicalities right now but that could potentially bring in more people? Idk just throwing it out there. i find the word count complaint kind of odd, 15 words isn't that much unless you're playing games then it's a pain in the butt at times. and currently i'm just blank on ideas... |

I’m really hesitant to comment since I haven’t been around here since I signed up and just went online to vote for the contest. Most of my online fan friends are on twitter and we get to flail on that too. What I don’t like about it is it is actually hard to back-read and sometimes missed the fun conversations. This is why I want to encourage people to use the forum but I’d like to share why I haven’t been here that much, aside from being busy in organizing events/contests for our own local FTISLAND community. But first, I think it is better too if there are separate topics per section for discussion that way there’s not “outpouring” of comments in one thread and it will be easier for people to back-read if they want. In general, most forum are in English but I think some people are more comfortable flailing in their own language…which we actually do in twitter. There, we can also avoid the people who correct our grammar LOL. So just a thought (in passing) maybe you can create a section/thread where people can talk in their own language? I guess it means additional work for moderators who know the same language but I hope it can bring more people in the forum. Another concern is the number of word per post, like sillyhappy said, 15 words is not much but it is for other people which discourage them to post. Sometimes less than 10-words-sentence like “what is that thing he’s doing? OMGRT” or “Has anyone noticed the nose hair?” can lead to interesting discussion…but still up to the mods if it’ll be considered as spam. Also, is it possible to integrate Facebook or Twitter log in? Sometimes I just have the thought of visiting the forum but I keep forgetting my password and then I get too lazy to reset thinking that I’ll remember it the other day  |

@ Myyma - Yeah that sounds like a good idea. Me and this admin for 1 of the ft island twitters was talking about it once how there's so many fansites/accounts dedicated to ft island. I think many people like to have their own accounts.. but it would be cool if translators and other subbers would collaborate together. That way videos can be released faster. @ Alicia - LOL. The Wonbin moderator would be lucky because there's less to update XD But then there's less to discuss ): I really wonder what FNC is gonna do for him! He hasn't released any new music in a long long time. Hmm, I think we'll stick with this forum focusing on "FNC Music", instead of "FNC Entertainment". I'm not sure if there's enough fans/members interested in the actors or comedians. But maybe in the future we'll include a single forum section for the non-musicians so people can talk about their dramas and stuff~ @ Shojem - Hi! No need to feel hesitant to comment n__n I'm the same way as well and use twitter more often, and I think the same goes for many other Primadonnas. It's a lot easier and maybe more fun to talk and spazz with others on twiter. I also like how you can use twitter on mobile phones, which I think a lot of people use. Sadly, this forum does not work well on mobile, but I hope there will be a mobile or app version someday! We'll think about the own language/thread/section! And figure out how we can include it in the forum somehow. Because I know that not many people are super fluent in English, so it may be difficult for them to post here. But we'll see! Ahh, it seems like people would prefer to have topics for discussions instead? Hmm, maybe for the one thread thing, we can dedicate it to random spazzing/discussions? Sort of similar to the soompi thread I suggested, but it doesn't have to be super organized where everything is posted there. And fans can just come and talk about nothing specific about the boys lol No, we can't integrate twitter or facebook login ): Only IPBoards can do that, but those forums cost too much money ;_; especially for a small forum like us. @ Alicia - Oh yeah! That's a good idea (: We'll probably make it not count towards post count though, since there's no way for moderators to moderate the comments/posts there. These are great ideas you guys! Make sure to post more ideas too n__n I know this is a really big forum, and it's a bit overwhelming to look through everything So make sure to let us know how to make this forum more easier to post and talk w/ other people Because I don't like to go on this forum anymore as well because not many people come online And the staff and I would really like to change this! I dont like the idea of "section/thread where people can talk in their own language" because probably there is a lot of people here who speaks languages that the staff dont understand that way would be really hard to control this section like preventing bad posts and fights ... |

I have one strange and weard idea, I think Hallyu 8 has that option when your posts can be shared to twitter or something like that, do you think that would help? I was thinking Chill out is actually the thread where you can post about anything and I do think that sections are good, so may be that thing about sending notofocations by e-mail that something new was posted is a good idea, in H8 they have an option *watch this therad* and then when something new is posted you get notofication by e-mail, though idk, some might not like if they get like 100 notifications, but then they can choose to unwatch the thread, but here I don't think that's a case, soooooooooooo, that's my ideas for now P.S: Its international forum, so English shud be the language used, agreed with Kika on that Edited by Lecintel, Jan 7 2013, 09:39 PM.

@Tini does tracking topic not do that? I thought it did because i did that on another forum before and it would send me emails when someone commented (although that was invisionfree but zetaboard should be pretty similar right? anyone wanna test try? ) |

I don't think it's possible for posts to be shared on twitter, because it needs an rss feed thing, and zetaboards doesn't have that feature. Although, I really would love it if they could T.T Annd yes! Topics can be tracked, so members can get notified when there's a new reply to a topic they want to look out for. The link to press to track it is in the white bar above the shoutbox to the right. It says 'Track Topic' or 'Email Topic'. So you can get notifications that way |

I don't know how good of an idea this is, or if it will even be considered, but I'm just going to throw it out there. I know a lot of people on forums for other artists that are big FT Island and CN BLUE fans and that would be pretty active. Have you considered affiliating with sites other than those dedicated to FNC artists? Because I've been a fan of FTI since '07 and I just found HI last year. So maybe if you did that it would bring more active members. Just a thought. |

^ Affiliations would be a good idea! I've never really asked other fansites/forums to affiliate before though lol >< usually other fansites/forums ask us. But we could try and ask around other sites that we're also a part of n__n |
