Just an announcement that March 22-31 I'm going to be away...in England and Ireland! I'm very excited! Of course, the thing I'm most excited about is getting to tour Coolmore Stud. For those who aren't familiar with them, they are one of the largest Thoroughbred breeding stables in the world, with three branches, the original in Ireland, Coolmore Australia, and Ashford Stud in Kentucky. If there's a bidding war, they're likely to be one of the bidders; they have no problem paying millions for a horse. And they have some NICE horses; one of their stallions in Ireland is Dylan Thomas, who was a very popular European racehorse last year, and George Washington stood at Coolmore for his brief stud career. I'm going to take plenty of pictures and I'll also be keeping my blog updated. |

I'm heading to England and Ireland starting tomorrow through the 31st, so no one is going to be able to contact me. If you're interested, I'll be keeping a blog for the group as well as my own; those are http://www.cofoagdept.blogspot.com and http://www.aspiringequestrian.blogspot.com respectively. You might particularly be interested in checking them out the evenings of the 26th (when we tour the stable operated by the Royal Agricultural College) and the 28th (when we tour Coolmore Stud) as I will have extensive description and lots of pictures. |
