Leiy (Mod)
It had been so long since he set foot in the Leiy kingdom kingdom, two years, in fact. Misu looked as if nothing had changed, the same city, the same people, but a lot had changed, and he knew it. For one, they were now without a king, no one to rule over them. Sure, the Regent had assumed responsibility, but there was only so much he could do. If they did not rescue the king soon, they would have to start preparing the princess to rule in his stead. A new queen. Kyne knew she could do it; she had done so well as it was, but he was not sure she would want that. Of course, there was no way he was going to abandon his king. There were those who would thought he had, but that would only serve to boost his image when he returned with Sowen.

Hurrying along down the cobbled street, he pulled his hood closer. If he was recognized before he made it to the castle, before he could warn the Regent, then he would never make it. Of all the people in the kingdom, only the Regent and the princess still remained faithful to him. He was grateful for that. She had her flaws, sometimes they were bigger than they should have been, but if she was good for one thing it was her loyalty. Her and Kyne had not always gotten along, in fact he was sure she hated him at times, and so it came as quite a shock when she addressed the rumors publicly. How would she react when she saw him again? He was declared a deserter, no better than a Fallen.

Breathing a heavy sigh, he tried his best to push the worry aside. Surely she would hear him out, she had to. If not, the ever reasonable Regent would be there. He would be the voice of reason, the one to get through to her. There were things he had to discuss with her alone, though. Things the Regent would only be privy to at a later time.

All the business would have to wait until later, though. First and foremost, Vicente needed to be tended to. Aiori had watched over Kyne for sure, because he was almost unharmed. He had suffered much the same as his comrade, but he had healed better. He was thankful for that, because if he had not been as strong as he was, perhaps the pair would never had made it here. The thought made him thankful for making it this far, and he smiled, all though the smile was shrouded. The castle drew closer, and the only obstacle would be the gate.

Oh no! He had completely forgotten about the gate. How were they going to get inside if they had to speak with guards who would probably arrest them on site? Of course, maybe being arrested was best. They would certainly be taken straight to the Regent. That would save them both the hassle of having to search him out. Yes, that would be the plan. Good thing, too, because just as he drew close to the gate a guard approached him. "Halt! he said, Who goes there? Without uttering a word, Kyne threw his hood down, grinning broadly. Hopefully Vicente understood his plan, because he was not about to explain it in front of the guard. That would get them sent straight to the cells. He had more than enough cell time to last an eternity.

The guard called his partners, who each wrapped a firm wrist around both Kyne's and Vicente's biceps. They made their way into the castle, being led to the throne room. There she was, arguing with her uncle. Kyne chuckled at the scene; nothing had changed. The guard holding his arm thrust him forward, almost knocking him off balance. He dusted off his arm, still grinning. "Hey, hey! Be careful with the merchandise, it's fragile," he joked, receiving and angry glare in return.

Rising from his seat, the Regent made his way to greet the pair, jaw dropped. Kyne threw a quick glance at Isobel, trying hard to read her expression. "Junas!" he greeted the regent, eyes shifting to the princess every now and then, "Listen, I have news for you, but first, Vicente here is not nearly as durable as I am. You think you could have a healer come take a look at him?" Nodding, Junas gave an order to one of the many guards still in the room to fetch a healer. The rest of the guards were dismissed, leaving only the two who typically watched the throne room.

Isobel
Princess of the Leiy
Sunlight was thrust upon the face of the sleeping princess. She grumbled, searching for the source of this disturbance. One of her maidservants had decided to throw open the curtains. Tossing the covers aside, she sat upright. "Princess, forgive me for the intrusion, but the Regent wishes to speak with you," the older woman spoke, rummaging through the wardrobe as she did so, "Come now. Let's get you dressed. He is a patient man, yes, but you cannot keep him waiting forever. Grumbling again, Isobel rose from her bed, holding her arms above her head. The servant quickly went about dressing the princess.

Waves of black hair flowed around her shoulders, some hanging in front and some behind, all of it not more than a few inches below her shoulders. Brilliant emerald eyes stood out against all the shadowy tones. Coral pink lips held an arrogant, a typical expression for the Princess. Color avoided her complexion like the plague, contrasting her hair like the stripes of a zebra.

The darkened hue of her hair was enhanced by the shade of the top her maid settled on her. A cotton-poly blend pulled around her curves, just barely defining them, and hugged her until it disappeared into the waist of her pants There weren't any sleeves, but two wide straps helped create the neckline by curving into the torso of the top. In the back the straps continued down until they met the cloth under her shoulder blades. It showed off two vertical scars that fit perfectly on the inside of the straps, perfectly visible in the open back of her shirt. They were bright pink against the snow white of her skin. Underneath them were two wings, leathery like that of a bat, ridges stretched tight around the boney framework. All Leiy possessed wings with hues ranging from sandy brown to eye-assaulting vibrant green. For the Princess the leather of her wings were a defined gray, similar to a thick fog, and the skeletal outline was a shade of black that rivaled her hair.

Around her waist hung the pelt of a coyote from the north, its pigeon gray fur with brown to black roots with milky white highlights held her weapon’s sheath. The tip of the sheath stopped just below her knees. It was crafted with the bones of a Leiy who had their wings removed due to treason, and was a solid black with nothing of any particular interest to catch the eye. She told others it was obsidian, but her believers were scarce. Obsidian was the bane of all Elves because it lacked the light needed to work their magic, and only she knew how far her immunity to it went. The blade inside the sheath was a long sword forged from the same accursed material. The blade was black with an emerald colored zig-zag design down the center of it. To match, the hilt was the same shade of green. Grooves on the handle were shaped like a clenched fist to make gripping easier. Her uncle had the sword forged for her when she gained rank in the kingdom's military.

Her pants were the same shade of black as her shirt and made out of a thick but breathable tweed. They were a bit loose on her to prevent movement restrictions, and flowed over her boots. Two pockets with flaps over them were settled mid-thigh. All the pockets were lined with a silver trim.

On her feet she wore a standard pair of black, military issue boots that reached about mid-calf. The laces were secured with silver fasteners. She always doubled-knotted her boots and tied them around the back to keep them from slipping off or coming untied, preventing and untimely end from an easily avoidable mistake.
At a mere five foot three, Isobel was the most imposing woman in the kingdom. She did not possess the physical strength of some of the more brutish soldiers, but no one except her father was stronger magically. This was great for the next in line for the throne. Who better to protect her kingdom from the magically disabled Humans than someone who was one of the best in the world? Of course, no one had to tell her how wonderful she was. Isobel knew it all ready, and she grinned about it as she let her maid finish up.

Then the servant girl moved on to making the bed before she continued with prepping the girl. Her hair came next, but Isobel fussed about that one. She was picky when it came to her hair, and in the end they settled for it simply being brushed and left alone.

All the fuss finally complete, Isobel pushed past her serving girl and out the door. She was greeted by the guard making his rounds in her wing of the castle. All she offered him was a polite nod. Just like all the soldiers of Misu, this passing soldiers wore dragon-bone helms that covered their head, but left their whole face exposed. All of their mud-brown tunics were magic-resistant, and a bone vest was worn under them to protect them from blades. On the tunic was Aiori, the Goddess of Air and Flight. Aiori bore the same wings as the Leiy with a muddy brown similar to the color of the soldier's tunics. Phoenix tail feathers spread from her lower back, adding various shades of reds and yellows to the picture. He wore a utility belt which held the military issue combat knives. Unlike most soldiers, this one wore studded fighting gloves, because he preferred hand-to-hand combat just like the Princess. To protect his legs he wore knee guards of the same bone as the helm and vest. Under the knee guards he wore the same tweed as Isobel of the same color as his tunic. His boots were the same as hers as well, all double-knotted.

Making her way down the hall to the stairs which spiraled downward to the entrance hall, Isobel jogged just short of the door to the throne room. Certainly the Regent would be in there. And he was, she saw him standing there when she entered the room. He seemed distraught, and that worried her, because he was the most calm person she knew. "Uncle, is everything all right?" she asked, quickly making her way to his side.

Shaking his head, he ran a frantic hand through his hair and dropped his gaze from her worried eyes. "No. Your brother," he paused, breathing a heavy sigh to calm himself, "Your brother is missing. He took off last night and no one has seen him since." This was terrible. Still, Isobel was sure he was overreacting. It was never like Junas to overreact, but considering the fact that he might be comparing it to the king, well, she wasn't quite as worried as he probably would have liked.

Before she could argue it, though, a group of guards burst in with two familiar faces. Isobel glared at them, mostly Kyne, because he was the one who insisted on catching her gaze. That stupid grin of his...She crossed her arms and furrowed her brow. What was he up to? And there was Vicente. When Kyne mentioned him being hurt, the anger fled her eyes, but she was good enough to keep the worry from flooding them. After all, they both had left without a warning. Well, Kyne sort of warned her, but he could have done it in person. As far as she figured, they both deserved whatever happened to them.

For the first time in a long time a calm sigh came from Vicente. They were home, Finally he was home. Finally he was safe. Well not exactly, people saw them as deserters, so there was a good chance they were going to be arrested if anyone recognized them. But for just a moment he didn't care about any of that. Staring up at the castle he could only smile. A smile that had been missing from his face since the night their lives went to hell. The guilt of his failure and the injuries he had sustained seemed if only for a moment to disappear. But it was only for a moment. They had to move again. Doing his best not to lean so much on Kyne Vicente kept the goal in mind. If he could last just a little bit longer.

With his face hidden from the world by the hood on his cloak he made his way with Kyne toward the front gates. He hated that he had to rely on him just to walk now. He, a proud warrior of the Leiy shouldn't have had this much trouble recovering. However he had pushed himself far to hard to escape the prison and then continued to push himself even harder to make it back here. He had failed to protect the king, He wasn't going to fail to try and save him though. His injuries themselves had been bad. Between a few beating from guards at the prison to the near miss that cut his side open to the crash landing after the escape his body was pretty beat up. His black wings covered in small cuts and abrasions. Instead of stopping and resting like he should have he pushed as hard as he could through the wilderness to reach the shores once more. The exertion gave him no energy to heal with and he only continued to get worse. But he had no choice. He had held no idea of whether or not Kyne and his comrade had made it out or if he was being pursued. He payed the price for his negligence now.

Moving through the streets that were so very familiar to him he had to rely on Kyne to guide them through without being seen. Vicente focused on walking and nothing else because if he stopped to do anything else he would fall. Looking up from under his hood he realized they were heading straight for the gate to the castle. This started to look like a bad idea until Kyne stopped at the gate and the guards approached them. Seeing him lift his hood off to show the guards he was about to call him a dumbass when he realized that this was a good idea. They would be taken straight to the Regent for sure this way. He knew the next little while wasn't going to be fun but he braced himself for it as best he could.

Being dragged by his bicepts down the castle halls wasn't exactly his idea of a good time that was for sure. Doing his best not to make pained sounds he let them drag him without much fight. Once they entered the thrown room Vicente knew this wasn't going to be good. Isobel was here as well. He thought for a moment of how much he had missed her while he was gone and how much he regretted not telling her why he left with the king. But thinking about the king suddenly brought back all the shame he felt for failing to protect them. He had been on guard it was his fault they were captured. Without mercy his fellow guards tossed him to the ground before Junas and Isobel. With a great deal of effort he pushed himself up off the floor and onto his knees again. He kept his head down in a low bow. He didn't want either of them to see the shame in him. Nor did he want to see their shame in him. He said nothing until Kyne mentioned that they needed to have him looked at before anything else. He couldn't let that happen they didn't have time for that.

" No I am Fine we do not have time to waste on my petty injuries." He said casting a glare toward Kyne. He knew he was only looking out for him and respected that but they had more important things to worry about then his health. Lifting his gaze from the ground he looked to Junas and Isobel. He swallowed hard before gathering his strength. "Regent Junas and Lady Isobel please forgive my disgrace in your presence. " He said noting that he must have looked pitiful in his condition. " We have failed in our duty to protect the king. The humans have him now. We were ambushed in the night." He said as his body began to quiver lightly. The shame he felt for what he had failed to do filled him completely now but was becoming suddenly more apparent was how heavy his body was all of a sudden.

"I was not alert enough to spot them and they overwhelmed us. We were taken prisoner and separated from the king. I don't know where they took him I... I'm..... sorry." He managed to say before collapsing suddenly and passing out. He had pushed himself way to hard, baring sleep to try and make it here. His body had enough of it though and now he was done. All it had taken was a moment of relaxing and now he was out. It would be up to kyne to explain further. He did get what he wanted though. Kyne wanted him to rest and he was now.

Obviously Vicente wasn't fine, and he proved that by finally passing out. Kyne rolled his eyes a little at the sight, knowing he had been right about needing someone to tend to him. Lucky him, in came the healer, ready to take care of him. Junas nodded her off, ordering the guard to help carry the man off so he could be tended to. Victorious, Kyne watched him leave the room unconscious. He had done all he could for the man, and now it was time to leave him in the hands of a professional. At least now they were home, so Vicente could take almost all the time in the world to rest up. They still had to set out for Gaziron again, this time with an entourage. All right, not an entourage. That didn't work out too well the last time they tried that.

Meanwhile, that left Kyne in the midst of explaining everything else. Vicente explained the capture of the king. Dammit. Kyne was not quite ready to delve into that yet, but it looked like he was left to add to the rest of the story. Of course, Vicente had also taken blame for the kidnapping, if not fully aware he had done so. That would be left as the final explanation for how it happened, because Kyne was not about to admit anything. He hadn't had anything to do with it, as it wasn't his shift to watch the camp, but he still felt guilty. There was nothing he could do now, though, so he would leave that part alone. It was almost entirely Vicente's fault, and he would be sure to play that card when he finished his story. Maybe that would wipe that fierce glare off Isobel's face, even if it was just a little.

Junas looked at Kyne curiously when the man remained silent. It was unlike him for sure. "I had feared something like this had happened. You know nothing of his whereabouts? Nor his physical condition?" Kyne shook his head, looking away in shame. Sure, it wasn't entirely his fault they had been captured, but he could have kept a better eye on the king. He was sure Sowen didn't blame him, not one bit. That was fine; Kyne would hold enough blame for the both of them. Breathing a heavy sigh, he lifted his gaze to flash a grin at Isobel before turning back to the Regent.

"No, Junas. I wish I did. I can tell you I wouldn't have returned if I thought I could do something for him." His eyes flashed to Isobel again, this time lingering. He had a plan, but that would have to wait until later. For now, he would inform Junas of all the past events leading up to him being here right now. "As soon as possible, I would like to set up a rescue party for him. For now, there are more pressing matters to be attended to," he continued. "The night we were ambushed, they used weapons I didn't know they had. When a trigger is pulled, the end of the weapon explodes and shrapnel bursts forth from it!" He moved his arms up and out, suggesting an explosion, "They call them guns, and there's no magic to them, but they hurt like hell." Out of the corner of his eye, Kyne caught Isobel rolling her eyes at him.

Isobel
Princess of the Leiy
What? They left her father?! In that filthy Human king's custody? What sort of guards were they, if they let their charge be captured? Isobel was enraged. More than that, though, she was concerned. What if something happened to him while he was there? The Humans had proven themselves more than capable of killing one of the royal family. Oh! She just could not bear the thought of losing her father. Crossing her arms firmly, she shot an angry hot glare at the remaining man. Vicente was lucky he was no longer conscious or in the room. Kyne would have to do for her angry punching bag.

She watched as Junas and Kyne spoke. He talked of some new weaponry, obviously exaggerating. Explosions? Isobel rolled her eyes, and just as she did so, she caught Kyne looking at her again. Why was he so focused on her? What was he thinking? Studying him, she found it hard to think on anything but her anger. Seriously, how could he have just left the king in that Human prison? Was he insane?! Obviously he was crazier than she had remembered. More selfish, too. Isobel wanted to wipe that stupid grin from his face violently.

Giving in to her primal urge to punch him in the face, Isobel uncrossed her arms and stormed over to him. Shoving her finger hard in his chest, she scolded him. "How could you?! You...you pompous ass!" Junas interjected with, "Isobel!" but she simply turned on him. "No, uncle! How could you not be angry with him?! He left father in that dreadful place," giving Kyne her focus once more, she continued, "How can you call yourself a guard? You left him there. Why? What made you think your life was more important than his?" She trailed off at the end, looking away from Kyne. Her anger was misplaced and unreasonable, but she did not care. She was angry, and that's all that mattered.

Gathering her anger again, she looked back at him. "On top of all of that, you never wrote me. Not once! You just disappeared. Did you think it was funny to worry me?" The last was just an afterthought, but she figured she would air that one, too, while she was at it.

The healer and guards stood at the sidelines waiting for the order to do anything with the two former royal guards. The healer had become very angry with the guards for tossing Vicente down on his face like they had, Mainly because she was worried about his condition. He looked very rough for wear and being as good hearted as she was she couldn't stand to see someone get hurt even more then they already were. She waited at the ready to go and take care of them and watched with horror as Vicente collapsed to the floor. The moment the order was given she rushed to his side and then had the guards lift him up so they could take him to the medical wing.

Once there the guards removed his cloak and armor to reveal the wounds that plagued him. He was bruised up a little and had superficial cuts on his arms and face. But the wound that seemed the most severe and least healed out of all was the wound to his stomach. It appeared as though someone had shoved a hot blunt peace of metal through his skin as the wound had blistered over several times and looked terrible. To her concern she discovered that the wound penetrated all the way through his stomach and out his back. The exit being much larger then the entrance and burnt just as well. What kind of weapon could have done this. It was no wonder he was in such rough shape. An internal burn like that would mess up a lot of things in his body and take a great deal of time to heal without the aid of a healer.

Puzzled by the nature of the wound but determined to begin healing him the woman left to gather some water to begin the healing process. This was going to take a long while but she was willing to devote the time to it. She explained quickly to another healer the nature of the wound and asked her to inform the Regent of the audacity of the wound. She then returned to Vicente and began working up the magic needed to heal him. He groaned out lightly in pain as she began her work. It was going to take a while indeed.

Kyne allowed himself to be verbally assaulted by the princess. At first he had thought the same thing, really. How could he leave Sowen in that place? Oh, he laughed on the inside at his lack of formality for the King even when the Princess held hers. There was no reason to pretend, though, that Kyne could be formal. He could when the need arose, but for the moment formality was the last thing on him mind. Right now they needed to formulate a plan to get the King out of the hell he was in. Of course, even before that, Kyne needed to make sure he was not struck down on the spot by Isobel. Boy, he couldn't remember the last time she was so angry. He sort of wished Vicente was there at that moment to bear part of the burden of her fiery anger.

Even with his calm demeanor, Kyne found it hard to stay unscathed from her accusations. He had done everything he could, and now he was doing the most he was able for the King. She was angry, he got that, but her words were unjustified. "Isobel, be reasonable," he pleaded, "Does that sound like something I would do? I swear to you I did my best for him, I really did. Right now, all I can offer him is what I'm here for." His words held only the slightest weight of pain, not physical but emotional. He had done everything in his power, but he still felt almost entirely responsible for the King's imprisonment.

Thankfully, in came the healer, stopping the Princess from her barage of hatred. He knew it would be back, but for now he could mull over her words in peace. The healer made her way quickly to the Regent's side and spoke quietly with him. Kyne raised a brow in their direction, curious as to the well being and condition of his comrade. Of course, his gaze occassionally wandered back to Isobel. Her last words had not fallen on deaf ears. She had missed him. Even if that wasn't what she meant to say, it's what she had said. Smiling arrogantly, he knew he was slowly winning the losing battle with her. Eventually she would be able to admit it. All right, well, every man is entitled to his own delusions.

Obviously there was no more to be said here, unless, of course, he wanted to be showered with more animosity. Even attention seeking Kyne didn't want that. Instead, he nodded respectfully toward Junas, not bowing still, and said, "I must be checking in on Vicente. Perhaps we'll pick this up later? I insist we meet up after his recovery to discuss our King." With that, he wrapped his hand around the Princess' and yanked her away from the throne room. She would be coming with him. "If you missed me so much, then you won't mind accompanying me," he told her with a chuckle, leading her out of the room and toward the royal infirmary.

Isobel
Princess of the Leiy
Isobel glared violently at Kyne as the healer strode in, interrupting her mid-rage. Fine, some other time then. She, too, was interested in how Vicente was doing, but not enough to stop her rampage. Oh well, later then. For now she kept her eyes on the Regent, doing her best to listen in on the quiet words of the healer. Why did she insist on speaking so inaudibly? The anger slowly began to flee from her eyes, doing its best to concentrate on the concern she felt for her friend. Of course, that was a little difficult when she continued to remind herself that he had deserved everything he got.

As the healer left, Isobel turned back toward Kyne only to have her hand snatched and to be dragged out into the hall. Either her sense were playing tricks on her, or she was certain Junas found it amusing enough to laugh at her. Oh, this was absolutely not funny, and both men were going to realize that far too late. Just outside the infirmary, the Princess managed to wriggle her hand free of the bafoon's grasp. It was about time she continued to berate him; she was sure he needed it much more than she had originally thought.

"Who do you think you are!?" she bellowed loud enough to cause some alarm among the servants who decided the best course of action was to scurry away from the Princess and the guard as quickly as possible. "I am not some mule to be led wherever you see fit!" She could have sworn he bore the slightest of a triumphant grin on those arrogant lips of his. What made him think he had won anything? Surely that time spent in prison had done a number on his intelligence. Perhaps he had gone insane. She was forced to remind herself that no, this was just how he always had been. Crossing her arms, Isobel scowled at him.

Not one to be deterred, the man led her into the infirmary to see Vicente. He was still unconscious, and was probably in no condition to be seeing guests. That was all well and good for, seeing as she was in no mood to be accompanying either of them anywhere. "Can you not see he is sleeping? Must you insist on pestering everyone? Please, leave me be. I have much more important things to do than to be seen with you," she spat, considering leaving.

The healer took a damp cloth to her face and sighed, the job was done. His wounds had been terrible and because of the burns the healing was taxing indeed. But he was in no danger and would make a full recovery soon enough. He was terribly weak now due to the strain he put of his body during the trip, and she was going to scold him terribly for pushing himself so hard. Next time he did it someone else could help him. That was a lot of work all things considered, and she was feeling the effects of it well. But she took her accomplishment with a smile and worked on healing the rest of his easy wounds.

She continued to work on the superficial wounds that weren't healing due to his lack of energy. Boy was he gonna be hungry when he woke up. They would bring some food in for him later, Poor guy had even gone and torn ligaments in his left arm and knee, no doubt from some attempt to jump over something or a crash landing from trying to fly in his weakened state. Those were going to take some healing as well but she needed a break and the nurse was still gone explaining the stranger wound to the Regent. Then, to her surprise, she heard another set of voices enter the hall.

It was Lady Isobel Arguing with the other man that entered the castle with Vicente. They were talking about him now and how he was sleeping. She decided it best to give her report on his condition. " Greetings Lady Isobel" She began reverently. " I have healed the major wound to the best of my ability however do to its strange nature i was unable to keep the entry and exit wounds from scarring. I have taken care of his minor injuries as well however there is damage to his arm that needs attention still. I will begin the treatment shortly." She said before hearing a pained sound from behind her.

Vicente heard voices coming from the room next to his. It took him a moment to overcome his exhaustion and weakness but he managed to look out the door to see what he assumed was a healer talking to Isobel and Kyne. Trying to sit up he found that his body was still very sore and he groaned out in pain before falling back onto his back. Realizing he was way to weak to move he opted instead to get them to come over to him. HE pondered that for a moment knowing that Isobel was probably very upset with him. But he knew better then to avoid her. If he just avoided her it would make things worse. The sooner he faced her the sooner she could get her anger out of the way. He came here expecting to be assaulted verbally at least so he was ready for it. " Isobel.. Please come over here. I need to speak with you." He said to her quietly. The healer looked to Isobel once more and sighed.

"He shouldn't be awake but if you wish to speak to him now is the time to do it. I doubt he will stay conscious much longer. Ill take care of his arm whether you wish to see him now or wait." She said before turning and grabbing a pale of water to use for the healing. She was tired but it needed to get done. She looked to Isobel and Kyne once more She waited for the princess to decide what she was going to do before she continued with her work.

Isobel scolded him, but her angry words only brought a light smile to his lips. He allowed her to wrench herself from his grasp in her rage. "No, gorgeous, you are much nicer on my eyes than a mule," Kyne retorted, knowing he would get a rise out of the Princess. That, and a death sentence. "And for the record, I did not lead you here, I dragged you." He laughed at his own joke as he watched the anger flicker across her face, burning hot as if the fire were real. Any other man would have stopped while they were ahead. None of them were Kyne. It wasn't that he didn't have the common sense to stop, it was more than that. He seemed to lack that little thing most people have in their minds that tell them when enough is enough, and what is and isn't all right to say. Luckily for him, Isobel wasn't a murderer...yet. Eventually he would drive her to that, but not any time soon.

She then began to berate him for bringing her to see Vicente. That was fine. He wasn't going to force her to talk to him. Okay, yes he was. It was his turn to get the verbal abuse Kyne had received. "He wants to see you, I know it. C'mon. Just say hi. Maybe tell him what a jerk he is, y'know, be yourself," he said, laughing at his own jokes again. Really, no one else found him funny. Eh, that was fine. Who asked them, anyway? No, Kyne was friggen hilarious, he knew it. That was all that mattered. "Please," he said, beginning to beg, "He missed you, Izzy. Just peek in and say 'hi,' for me." The last part was just cheating, or at least, it would have been if it was any other girl. Unfortunately for Kyne, Isobel was the only girl in the whole world who could resist his charm.

Fine, he was sleeping. They would just stand there until Vicente woke up. Which was a much shorter amount of time than the man had been expecting. As the Healer came to tell Isobel and him of the other man's condition, Kyne heard a groan from inside the room. Then Vicente spoke, and Kyne almost laughed at the "I-told-you-so" moment, but he restrained himself. "He's awake now, so come on," he said, tugging on her arm once more. She would come with him whether she wanted to or not. What harm was there in seeing an old friend? Especially if that meant the old friend was going to get a scolding equal to the one she had just given to Kyne. Yeah, he was enjoying the fact that he wouldn't be the only one who had gotten yelled at.

"Vinny! Look who's come to see you!" he announced, shoving Isobel into the room. Quickly, before she could get away, he shut the door behind them, the Healer included, and stood in front of it. She would have to forcibly remove him if she wanted out. As fun as that sounded, he hoped she didn't try that. He was all ready wanted for desertion, he really didn't want to add assault of a royal to that list. That did sound funny, though. Okay, not really. He crossed his arms and leaned against the door, hoping no one decided it would be a good idea to open it while he stood there. It would NOT be funny if he took a spill while trying to get the Princess to talk to Vicente. It really was a shocker what the castle servants let him get away with, though. The Healer had yet to say anything to him about his rough handling of the Princess.

Isobel
Princess of the Leiy
Stunned from the audacity, Isobel chose to remain silent. She was afraid she may have strangled Kyne if he spoke another word. Really, she was unsure what had kept her from violently assaulting him right there. He really was lucky she was his friend, for the most part, otherwise he would have been dead. Not really, but she had contemplated it, often. Especially in the last hour or so. He would have deserved it, the arrogant bastard. What gave him the right to tote her around in such a manner? She was the Princess, dammit! Had he no respect for royalty? Obviously not. She had known that from the very get-go, though. It was a ridiculous notion to have expected him to have changed at all. Maybe a little more time in prison would have fixed the problems she had with him...

Rage burned her inside. What right had he to call by her anything but her name? "Izzy? Are you ill? Did you hit your head? Brain damage?" These were all really good explanations for why he insisted on acting so rash. She was almost one hundred percent certain that he had been dropped on his head as a child. How else could she explain his lack of respect toward her? Isobel had allowed it to go on long enough, too long. She had played a part in his lack of respect, really, but she refused to accept the blame. No, there was no way it was her fault.

"I will speak to him on my own time," she told him, getting back on subject. Isobel was not too thrilled about speaking to Vicente. He was guilty of everything Kyne was, but for some reason, she did not hold him as responsible. Well, she sort of did. She held him responsible for the more personal matters, not for her father. No, that was all Kyne's fault. Vicente was her guard. That was part of the reason why she was so irate with him as compared to Kyne. Sure, she was angry with both of them, but the severity definitely varied based on the man. At some points she was angrier with Vicente, and vice versa. Both of them had skipped out on her, not bothering to tell her where they were going. It was probably for the best, though. She would have followed. That was more than likely the reason the King had neglected to tell her about his plan.

While Isobel busied herself by arguing with Kyne over why she would not see Vicente, out came the Healer. She had told Isobel Vicente was awake, that he was healing slow, plenty of things she was not sure she cared to hear in that moment. He had deserved what he got. Honestly, she was disappointed that Kyne was in such good health. He deserved to be lying in bed, too, all burnt and bruised and injured. Idiot man, too stupid to let the Princess have her silent vengeance. No, he had to come back in good condition, didn't he? He was actually doing pretty well for someone who had endured almost the same amount of torture Vicente had. She did not linger on that thought too long, though.

Before Isobel could tell the Healer she would return later when Vicente was doing better, she felt a hand pull her toward the open door. "Let go of me!" she yelled at Kyne, squirming in his grasp. Her feet tripped up under her when he shoved her into the room. She would have spilled to the floor if she had not caught her balance on the end of Vicente's bed last minute. "You are going to pay for that, I swear," she threatened, turning toward Vicente. Well, she was stuck now, forced to speak to him. Fine, but he better have been ready to be verbally beaten.

"All right, fine," she relented, "What do you want?" Honestly, she was not the least bit interested in anything he had to say. He was just as guilty as Kyne, and guilty men did not deserve her attention.

If he could have moved he would have beaten Kyne for his actions. He was deliberately antagonizing Isobel, which would make things harder for both of them. If they were really going to try and save the king she needed to not be angry at them, at least not as angry as he knew she was at them both right now. It was a miracle she didn't kill Kyne for what he was doing. Had it been anyone else Vicente would have not allowed them to even get close enough to do that, and would have been well within his duties to strike someone down for attempting to push her around like Kyne was doing now.

It reminded him all so suddenly of one of the many reasons he disliked Kyne before. He got away with things Vicente was told never to allow to happen. Just his general attitude toward Isobel was an affront to what he had been trained for, and he was never punished severely enough for his actions. It aggravated him to no end as to why she tolerated him so. But right now he was more concerned with the fact that she was becoming more and more agitated with the whole situation, which meant talking to her was going to be a pain. She would more then likely blow off what he said or berate him. Something he was prepared for but still dreaded happening, she was his friend and he hated making her angry. But she was already mad and Kyne was making it worse so he would have to work with what he got.

Had it no been for the fact that his body was shot Vicente would have jumped up and beat Kyne for his words and actions but that was out of the question. He just had no energy to move at all, and it was an effort to even say what he had moments ago. Just as it was for him to stay awake. He would have to deal with it though. He needed to say what he needed to say. And whether she accepted his apology or not was her decision. He looked to her when she tripped and fell to the edge of the bed. He could see the distaste in her eyes for him at the moment, it made him look away in shame once more. Looking up toward the ceiling he sighed. Better to get it over with.

"Isobel I know you aren't happy with either of us right now. Aiori knows we both deserve to be executed for our failures. I'm sorry, for hiding our mission from you and for failing the king. I won't make any excuses, and i don't deserve your forgiveness, but when i get better I am going to rescue the king. I will not fail again. " He said to her calmly. It was the plan he and Kyne were working toward. They couldn't take on the task alone though and defiantly not in his previous condition. Those were the reasons they returned. He resolved to go even if he had to escape his own people to do it. They may have thought them deserters but he was not going to let that stop him from doing his duty.

He waited a while longer and looked to Isobel. He was curious of what she would say, if anything at all. He had said his peace though and he meant it. He looked to the healer when she came up beside them. " I am going to start treating the rest of his wounds now. You may stay if you wish though i ask that He remains quiet. I cant afford to much distraction. " The healer said taking note of Kyne's antagonistic approach to the situation. This was her medical wing and He would not mistreat the princess in her domain.
