"Mhmmm... So you better be a good girl now, or it might still come to that. Or worse," "Oh really? And what could be worse than being stuck in detention I can't help but wonder? Then again on second thoughts maybe I don't want to know." Bailey smirked, biting the corner of her lip slyly at the sight of the grin on Sam's face. While she would have expected it to be an expression that wouldn't fit Sam's features it seemed to actually fit and compliment her face. Though from the way her gaze kept dodging her face and moving back to the books before her it was like she didn't want to give any thoughts involving Bailey too much thought, which meant she did have some thoughts on her after all....well wasn't that interesting? Though if she honestly thought Bailey wouldn't misbehave even a little she obviously didn't know her reputation as much as she was trying to believe. She watched Sam out the corner of her eye as she looked through her books and notes as though she was trying to remember what it was she had been wanting to study specifically. It definitely seemed like she was more interested in remembering the instructions of potions and their proper order etc than the attributes. Well she couldn't be as bad on Potions as she believed herself to be then, maybe she just wanted a litle bit of tweaking on her technique to do just that as remember the order for potions to make sure she would get an outstanding. But something told Bailey Sam didn't really need that much help, she was a Moody and Moodys' always got outstandings. "The latter. There are a couple potions that are giving me a hard time. Memory Potions, for starters. I'm having trouble getting those instructions right, and I keep forgetting the ingredients," Bailey pretended not to register the feeling of the other girl's hand nearly brushing hers and nodded as she sorted through her notes and books until she found the section on memory potions. She could easily remember the memory potions due to the techniques Aspen had helped her learn in her fourth year before their O.W.Ls most consisting of using names of her girls to replace the beginning to sentences. It had worked surprisingly well for her O.W.Ls but something told her it wouldn't work that good for Sam. Maybe she could try another tactic. She twirled her quill around in her fingers in thought, meeting Sam's entrancing eyes for a second before nodding again. "Ok well remembering the instructions is easy if you have the know how. For example what I suggest to remember the ingredients especially according to order is to write down the names in order on bits of parchment...rearrange them and then try and rearrange them in the correct order. It's more a case of, ironicly enough, memorising it." Said Bailey, though she was definitely sure her and Aspen's way was better but Nevada had said that this way worked too. She began to tear a piece of parchment into pieces writing different names of ingredients in perfect caligraphy. She pushed them in Sam's direction to mix up and took a glance at her own notes in the side of her margain. 'Jeia Desiree Nicole Mirana Cira Sierra Maxi Tera' As Sam did what she suggested she knew the other girl probably thought the method stupid but it definitely beat siting there in silence and staring at the ingredients and instructions in the book. But if it helped her to get her O she couldn't complain really could she? Bailey watched with part fascination and part curiousity, randomly doodling patterns on her arm to keep boredom at bay. She leaned over to Sam's books and notes when she was done mixing them, closing the books with a thump and turning the notes upside down. "Now try and see if you can put them in the right order." Bailey said with a sly smile, her eyes twinkling with flirtation. It was unintentional of course...but part of her was just so fascinated with Sam. Would she managed to get any action despite the fact she'd been called here to study? Only time would tell. |

"Oh really? And what could be worse than being stuck in detention I can't help but wonder? Then again on second thoughts maybe I don't want to know." "I'll leave that up to your imagination," Samantha remarked, matching Bailey's tone. A part of her wanted to remain as confident and normal about this little tension they had going between them for as long as possible. Another part felt like she should just drop it ASAP and leave the whole thing and get to studying. And there was one last part that just wanted her own mind to stop rambling. "Ok well remembering the instructions is easy if you have the know how. For example what I suggest to remember the ingredients especially according to order is to write down the names in order on bits of parchment...rearrange them and then try and rearrange them in the correct order. It's more a case of, ironicly enough, memorising it." Sam listened carefully when Bailey explained. At least for now, her mind was focused on potions again. Well, that made sense. She knew it was a case of remembering, but she hadn't thought of an exercise like that. Usually, for nearly every subject, Samantha just stared at the text or wrote the most important bits down and tried to remember the facts. For some things, she just covered the answers with her hand and then tried to sum them up or let someone else ask the questions. It worked for some subjects better than others. It was always weird when you thought about it: why did the most useless facts from one subject stuck in one's brain much more easily than more important ones from another? "Now try and see if you can put them in the right order." "A-alright." Samantha's eyes met Bailey's eyes briefly again. God, he hated this girl! There was something in there that was definitely a little more than an innocent kind of playfulness - and Sam liked it. She wanted it! This anxiety showed on her face, no matter how much she tried to hide it. What if she was just tired of being good and proper Samantha Amel Moody? What if she just wanted to have some fun for the sheer heck of it? That was something she certainly lacked compared to her siblings. The art of good, old-fashioned fun. But Sam didn't do anything. Instead, she tried to focus on the pieces of parchment with the ingredients. It took her a little while, but Samantha was quite confident once she had finished mixing them back together. "Right, let's take a look..." She muttered and reached for her potions book. This time, her hand didn't quite brush past Bailey's - but Sam kinda wanted to reach there instead and she knew it. |

"I'll leave that up to your imagination," “Probably a wise idea…although my imagination is a kind of creative place.” Bailey grinned, tilting her head a little as Sam tried to match her tone. It was like she wanted to appear confident, like it was normal to be feeling a little unnerved about being tutored in potions by someone who you probably wanted to jump despite the fact that wasn’t something that she wanted to be common knowledge. Well there was time for that later….maybe. Bailey could feel Sam’s attention focused on her when she was all business and knew it was probably for the best. She was half tempted to tell Sam her method of remembering potion instructions etc as a comparison but it probably would just have her giving her a questioning look. Oh well beggars couldn’t be choosers. Then again most of Bailey’s other study habits were probably the reason she wasn’t doing so well. On those few occasions she tried it was usually while wrapped in her sheets in her bed with a hot body beside her who she had roped into studying. Mostly it would be reading chapters aloud, detouring her attention with kisses and touches until in the end the book just fell on the floor forgotten. Though with those ‘study sessions’ some things did stick…just nothing that could really help her so she ended up cramming hours before her tests never a good idea. Bailey flashed Sam a quick smile when their eyes met, continuing to doodle random symbols around her wrist, turning her gaze back to the pattern and yet she could see the anxiety plainly written on Sam’s face. She wanted to have the flirtatious and playful side instead of the boring Study girl that the school saw her for and Bailey was kind of tempted to flirt with her a little more, joke around that if she did good maybe….she’d give her a reward of some kind but she wasn’t sure how Miss Head girl would react. Then again she might even like it. But for the moment she let the silence of the library around them envelope them, ignoring her make-shift tattoo and putting her quill down as she pulled a history of magic study guide towards her, opening it at the random pages she’d seen Nevada reading the last time she borrowed it. Her gaze kept lingering on a red-head over at the next table who kept catching her eyes and looking her over with interest, though Bailey’s attention was drawn back to Sam when she heard her potion’s book being opened. “Let’s have a look….” Bailey said, pulling her own open book towards her and taking a glance at Sam’s order. “Wow….not bad Ma’am. Aside from getting these two mixed up…..” the blonde changed the second and fifth ones around, “You actually did well.” She flashed Sam another smile and rested her chin on the palm of her hand and tilted her head.”I think you need a reward to make sure the right order sticks…how about you?” |

“Probably a wise idea…although my imagination is a kind of creative place.” "Hmmm, I'll take my chances," Samantha remarked, realising how infectious Bailey's attitude was. Although, it was true that Sam had also been playing along with her from the start. And, ironically, trying to appear confident made her feel more confident too. A bit, at least. But she did wonder what kind of imagination a girl like Bailey had... She continued grinning. Perhaps it was Sam now that didn't want to know. “Let’s have a look…. Wow….not bad Ma’am. Aside from getting these two mixed up….. You actually did well.” When Bailey smiled at her again, Sam suddenly noticed that her own heart was beating a little faster. Argh, why did Bailey have to be so hot? But when she spoke and went to check the order of ingrediens, Sam redirected her attention again. She smiled and she was honestly glad she did well, but this time, Sam's heart wasn't in it. Perhaps it wasn't just Bailey, but the fact that she was getting aware of how sick she was of being the perfect, always-serious, studious Head Girl. Samantha wasn't obsessed with that, as some people were, but her family, her friends, other students and teachers all had an image of her that Sam had maintained for the past few years. For everyone, there came a moment where you just wanted to say, 'Screw it' and do whatever the hell you wanted. And Sam knew she wanted something (or rather, someone), right now. ”I think you need a reward to make sure the right order sticks…how about you?” Okay, now Samantha definitely forgot all about potions. She turned in her seat slightly to face Bailey better and couldn't help but lean in closer somewhat. "That depends... What kind of reward?" She asked in a delicate tone, one that clearly hinted at more. |

A grin appeared on Bailey’ face at Sam’s remark, she was definitely gaining her confidence and flirtation skills a little at a time. She knew the other girl had just been playing along to make the studying seem more fun but it also seemed to boost Sam’s esteem just a little and that couldn’t hurt could it? Though from the grin that appeared on Sam’s face it was obvious she was beginning to question the thoughts that went through Bailey’s mind and maybe it was for the best that she didn’t know occulmency. Shame….she’d never been with someone who could do that before, but she had heard rumours about how intoxicating it could be and she couldn’t help but wonder if that was true or not. It was obvious to Bailey how easily she was affecting Sam, that her own charisma much like that she and Aspen both had had managed to capture another victim only this time said victim was a head girl with a reputation that seemed to scream straight. The depths of her eyes seemed to scream differently though. That Bailey’s looks were distracting her and making her feel things which while she couldn’t deny them she wouldn’t exactly admit to them either. Yet she noticed Sam’s attention being directed else where when she was congratulating her on doing well though she knew that Sam was more than capable of doing better but she wasn’t one to push her unlike the society she was in. Though the brunette did in the least manage to smile like she was trying to assure Bailey she was thankful of the effort she had put in but her heart was drifting from the topic at hand and this made Bailey wonder what else was on her mind let alone if she actually wanted to talk about it. Then again while Bailey’s charisma was good it didn’t exactly make people spill their deepest secrets when they had all those annoying emotions building up. From being sick of the reputation she had and had been working on maintaining because she didn’t want to be seen as anything else. And there was nothing wrong with that. Bailey had never had that kind of pressure put on her. Aspen had experienced it more than once due to their mother’s wish to have a successful Quidditch player in the family but it looked like that wasn’t going to happen. She was going to have to wait until Ianto was older. Their father was just happy that they were learning about their other life so there was no expectations….just that she did as well as possible. In fact the knowledge she was doing well in potions had him and her mother already looking into apprenticeships in Cardiff since she was so naturally gifted. She’d probably end up somewhere else though. It always had to be her way. It was normal to want to break free from that though and she had a feeling that maybe what Sam was getting close to doing. Bailey bit her lip as she saw the slight interest flash across Sam’s face as she turned to look at her, their faces a little closer when Sam leaned in. Like she knew what Bailey was implying but wanted to be assured that bailey wasn’t playing games. Well playing taunting games was one of Bailey’s best past times but for now she could push that away. She let a sly smile appear on her face as she moved a little closer to Sam and brushed some stray wavy brunette hairs away from her face. Damn her eyes really were more entrancing up close. Her index finger then traced a trail from behind her ear to rest under her chin her face steadily moved closer "That depends... What kind of reward?" “Something like this…” she murmured, grazing her lips against Sam’s but she refused to deepen it unless that was what the other girl wanted. Bailey was a lot of things but she was by no means pushy…well not too pushy. |

Samantha's attention was now continuously with Bailey, whose grin and look in her eyes made Sam want her more and more. She could barely pretend to be studying now. Instead, her gaze passed from the potions book to Bailey's hand, secretly yearning to take it. Sam couldn't help but wonder how much of this was Bailey's fault and how much her own. Usually, she was rarely distracted, especially while studying or duelling; Sam tended to seclude herself and had a habit of snapping at annoying first-years if they were being too noisy in the common room. But now she couldn't care less, even if she failed her Potions exam (which was unlikely anyway). Bailey had quite an effect on Sam. It wasn't just the fact that she was rather hot (though it certainly helped) - it was that playful, sexy attitude that was driving Sam nuts like this. At least, she supposed. For someone kind of frustrated at never really having had a steady relationship with anyone (gender aside), Sam hadn't thought much about what she wanted to see in that special someone. Up until now, she'd figured she'd just go along and wait and see if she could meet someone. Everyone around her probably figured she would eventually hook up with someone like herself: good-looking, perfect at everything, good at heart, but kind of aloof from time to time. But perhaps what Samantha really wanted for herself was someone completely opposite: someone who did everything they wanted, because that's what Sam secretly desired to do aswell. However, Bailey made Sam brush aside her thoughts as easily as she'd done with her hair. She felt herself tense up even as she enjoyed her touch, her skin tingling as Bailey's finger moved. Sam leant in even closer. She had been slightly surprised, not completely sure whether the attraction had been mutual. But now she wanted Bailey even more. Samantha noticed how fast her heart was beating as she looked into Bailey's eyes. “Something like this…” Oh my... And then Bailey's lips touched Sam's and she was sure her heart was going to jump out of her chest. God, Sam could fight off Death Eaters but she was completely inexperienced with this. It wouldn't surprise her if Becca and Alan had more. Still, despite any worries, Sam gave herself up to the feeling and kissed back. Quite gently, but hinting at wanting more. "Hmmm... I like rewards like this..." She said, enjoying every second. It was better than with Luke... It made Sam remember back then too. She swore to God, if someone interrupted this, they would be unrecognisable once Samantha was through with them. |

To Bailey it felt like Sam’s attention had become completely fixated on her, on her features and her eyes the colour of which she barely ever appreciated. Compared to the pale grey that made up her irises she would much rather have the entrancing jade green that Aspen had even if she denied it to his face. Yet she knew that this attention was coming to the point where studying honestly was the last thing on Sam’s agenda and Bailey was finding it hard to stop herself from grinning. Hey at least now she knew how Bailey felt with all the other girls in the room. She could feel the prickle of eyes on the back of her hand when the brunette was supposed to be looking at her potions book like she wanted to take it but either didn’t have the nerve or was trying to appear the more professional of the two. If she asked Sam about it she had a fair idea that the Gryffindor would blame her for being so distracting and yet the mere fact that she was distracting only would betray how Sam was feeling. Though she could understand it, if Sam wasn’t used to studying with people compared to studying alone….but now any thought of the potions exam would be forgotten and part of Bailey had been hoping for that all along. Yet to what extent did she have the effect on her? What was it about her that made Ms Moody suddenly want to push her studying out the window and make out with her against a wall? That was definitely something that was running through Bailey’s mind. Was it simply because she was hot? Or was it her attitude that had the Gryffindor wanting more. It could easily be both. Though as she was closed to Sam she could sense inexperience….not just in being with a girl but with being in relationships period. Not that there was anything wrong with that but maybe she had just been waiting for the right person to show her the ropes. But there was the question of Sam’s inventory when it came to what she wanted in a person. Someone perfect, good hearted, sarcastic, and undoubtedly good looking but Bailey was probably only two out of four and the complete opposite of Sam. She’d rather listen to music, drink, smoke, fuck and experiment with potions than study. Besides Sam was probably perfect enough for the both of them. But Compared to Nicole Sam still paled a little. It was like there was some essence that Nicole possessed that made Bailey want her and only her…..not that she wouldn’t flirt or make out with Sam to let her see what she was missing out on but anything else was saved for Nicole…who was in Rome until the exams started probably fucking some hot body which she could get it. Damnit! Too much frustration was definitely not good for the karma or the body. Still Bailey could easily in the least make Sam see that thoughts weren’t everything….knowledge of the educational kind wasn’t the most important thing in life. Living it and experiencing the physical side was just as important. The blonde let her smile broaden a little as she felt Sam’s body tense under her fingertips, like she was enjoying herself but that the feeling was so foreign she didn’t know how to react. But it seemed unimportant as she moved closer, like she was entranced and wanted to test out the waters, to see if the attraction was mutual and what could happened. Bailey could practically hear Sam’s heart racing as their gazes met and licked her own lips before crossing the space. Nothing happened at first when their lips touched and yet she could tell Sam was just trying to get her bearings about her. She was inexperienced but about to get a lot of lesions in kissing 101. By the time she found Miss right she was going to be a pro. Soon Sam relaxed and kissed back, gently but the want was obviously there and it took a lot of Bailey’s self control not to deepen it or bite the other girls’ lip. "Hmmm... I like rewards like this..." Bailey rested her hand under Sam’s chin, grazing a trail back and forth with her thumb, smiling as she pulled back an inch to breathe. She pressed a chaste butterfly kiss against Sam’s lips before pulling back and turning her attention to the books for a second, trying to pretend like she gave a shit about the learning. “Really? Well if you’re good….you might get a few more rewards.” She grinned with a wink, grazing her hand against Sam’s thigh teasingly. “Unless that is you would much rather take as many rewards as possible to make it stick. One might not be enough.” |

Samantha smiled into the kiss and closed her eyes briefly, savouring the feeling of Bailey's lips... And the touch of her hand that she placed under Sam's chin. Hmmm... Suddenly, Sam wished that she had done something like this herself a long time ago. Kyra briefly appeared in her mind and she wondered how things might've turned out if Sam had been a little more straightforward, although she wasn't sure Kyra even swung that way. So many days wasted, so many good opportunities... But still, Sam wasn't going to dwell on the past. “Really? Well if you’re good….you might get a few more rewards. Unless that is you would much rather take as many rewards as possible to make it stick. One might not be enough.” When Bailey stopped and pulled back, Sam was positively begging for more and it showed on her face. So Bailey's words and the fact that she was looking at her potions book of all places filled her with disbelief for a moment. Luckily, it only lasted a moment. Bailey's touch on her thigh made it obvious she was just playing. Samantha grinned aswell. "Oh, you know me.... I'm very forgetful with potions. I think I'll need a lot of rewards..." Sam said teasingly and moved closer again. Before she knew, she had moved to Bailey's neck and kissed her there, before going back to her lips. Sam's heart was racing. She wondered what would happen if someone actually saw them... Well, no one would be very surprised about Bailey, except that this time, she had managed to make out with a Head Girl... But what about Sam? Everyone would be shocked... Oh, well. At the moment, Sam cared surprisingly little about that. ((OOC: Sorry it's so short. =/ )) |

Bailey could tell that Sam was enjoying herslef she had always had a sixth sense about that kind of thing, well that and she knew how to read body language to the point that came pretty naturally to her. The way Sam was smiling and had closed her eyes it was more than enoughof an implication to tell Bailey Sam would want more, yet it also seemed to let her know that at some points in her life Sam has regretted not doing something similiar in the past with someone else who could appeciate it. Though who in their right mind would turn Sam down was definitely something Bailey was questioning. With those eyes how could anyone turn that girl down? How many people had been the object of Sam's affections and yet the gryffindor had never known to to say it let alone to push herself to be so forward that she would do make it clear how she was feeling. Maybe after this was done Sam wouldn't question herself anymore and it would be a whole lot easier for her to act on her emotions without thinking about the consequences. When she pulled back Bailey could feel Sam's eyes boring into her, as though trying to beg silently for her to not go back to being so serious and boring. She only had to take a glance at he girl's face to see 'Kiss me' written all over her perfect complex in italic writing, Yet Bailey knew how to play this game, she had played it more times than she could count in the past. If she pretended for a while it only made things hotter when the action happened, Sam probably wouldn't used to it, but something told Bailey that in the future she would probably use it a lot to make sure that the girl she wanted did want more...did want her not just because she was a Moody. She watched the grin make itself known on Sam's face when her hand rested on her thigh and knew she's put two and two togther. smart girl. "Oh, you know me.... I'm very forgetful with potions. I think I'll need a lot of rewards..." "Oh really? Well who am I to question your study techniques?" Bailey grinned, bitting her lip teasingly, as Sam got closer. The kiss on her neck was teasing and yet perfectly placed before she felt their lips colliding again. They were so close she could her Sam's heart continuing to race, though she wans't sure if it was with enjoyment or with terror at the fact she could be seen by anyone else in the library. Everyone knew what Bailey was like, it was part of her reputation and it had been pretty obvious by the amount of girls she made out with in corridors but something told her it might bother Sam if someone she knew approached them and began to ask questions. Well Bailey had been with enough girls not yet out the closet to know how to cover for them, and if she had to she would do that for Sam. She didn't deserve to be outed when she wasn't ready. Bailey rested her hand on the back of Sam's head, clenching her fingers in the other girl's hair as she deepened the kiss, trying to teach Sam a lesson at a time with each move, not surprisingly she was a fast learner. Her teeth nipped and sucked on Sam's lip teasingly, not being too rough. Being rough wasn't for everyone. |

"Oh really? Well who am I to question your study techniques?" "Exactly," Sam muttered, still grinning before her and Bailey's lips touched again. Before she knew it, Bailey's hand was in her hair and she deepened the kiss. Samantha gave herself up to the feeling, savouring every moment. The sensation was new, but oh so welcome... It was no longer something Sam worried about too much, she simply wanted more. A thousand thoughts and possibilities went through her head and her hands were quickly drawn closer to Bailey. They snaked their way around her, where Sam let them rest on her shoulders. What followed surprised Samantha somewhat, but it was certainly pleasant... As far as she was concerned, this could go on for a while like this... Still, as exciting as her little make-out session with Bailey, Sam's voice of reason couldn't help but draw attention back to itself. Forgetting the studying (which Sam couldn't care less about at the moment), what if someone did see them? Even if it was for the little while that Sam had left at Hogwarts, most of the school would probably know... Especially when it involved the all-too-perfect Head Girl Samantha Amel Moody. And then her family would probably know too. With each passing moment, that idea was starting to feel like more of a problem. Sam knew her parents would probably be accepting about it and wouldn't make a big deal, but boy was it going to be awkward... And before Sam could stop herself, she couldn't help but imagine what anyone else would think, even Order-members like Lem, eventhough it was none of their business. Despite how Sam had been acting around Erica, she wasn't sure if she wanted anyone to know just yet now. When Samantha broke the kiss for a moment to breath, she spoke. "It's not like I mind too much, but... Maybe we should take this... Some place else," she breathed, before licking her lips, a playful look still in her eyes. If no one knew, then there was no harm in continuing this... |

The grin seemed to look good on Sam's face, better than a smile and closer to a smirk than Bailey had ever expected to see yet it was just devilish enough to convince her to kiss her and deep it again. As the kiss continued it was like she was melting, taking in all the sensations and feelings and storing them away. Like it was so new to her but she was getting so used to it that she would easily become an addict in her own right. Not like there was anything wrong with that normally but Bailey wondered how long Ms Moody would be able to hold out before she needed her next fix after this was over. Yet she seemed to be getting more and more bold or the thoughts in her mind were as she felt Sam's hands resting on her shoulders. She was definitely getting better at this. It could definitely go on a while but Bailey also knew that if it was going to for Sam's rep it would be better if they moved it else where. She just had to wait for her to say something. She knew Sam's reputation was important to her and with her surname being what it was it was no real surprise. Like she didn't want the whole school to know that she was gay, that she was attracted to girls more than guys and liked it that way. Or maybe she was just worried about what her family would think. Yet Bailey had a good feeling for the Moodys reactions. They would be supportive and accepting....which was better than What Bailey herself had had to go through. With her own coming out it had been awkward and with her mother's over reacting even more so but in the end it had been like a boulder was pushed off her shoulders. And maybe that was what Sam needed. Though she needed to support in telling.....as weird as it would be for Bailey to get involved that way....she would help her out. And restrain the urge of her telling her own coming out...it would scare the girl to death. Bailey smiled when they broke away to breath and wished the library wasn't so full so she could have a cigarette in peace but as she was comtemplating the easiest way to do that Sam spoke drawing her attention back to her. "It's not like I mind too much, but... Maybe we should take this... Some place else," Bailey grinned knowingly as she watched Sam's playful gesture of tongue over lips and the way her eyes were so bright with lust it was piercing her eyes to look at her. But damn who was she to say no when she had asked so nicely. "Well.....privacy does have it's advantages I'll admit. Sounds like a plan." smiled Bailey slyly, pressing a soft kiss to Sam's lips with a wink before beginning to push her things into her bag. She just hoped Sam knew what she was getting herself in for. |

Nicole wasn't going to lie, things had been strange, but wonderful for her since Christmas. She didn't have to be afraid to read the newspaper anymore. She didn't have to be afraid of the day when a teacher would pull her out of class and tell her the awful news. She didn't have to sit on pins and needles anymore practically dying with anxiety and most importantly she didn't have to worry about her friends ever finding out. Things were...things were normal now. For the first time in her life, she could live a 'normal' life. Well okay maybe not 'normal', it would never normal, and they would always have things to hide. Just because things had changed didn't mean it wiped everything out from the past. It just meant from here on out they could start over. They could simply pretend the past never happened. It was a strange feeling and Nicole was waiting for someone to pull the carpet from under her and say, "Haha, just joking!" She got a feeling that that was going to happen soon and so she braced herself for the inevitable. it had been a wonderful four months though, the best four months of her life if truth be told. What happened? Her 'uncle' had been able to gain amnesty from the Ministry. He wasn't a wanted man anymore. Instead he actually worked for the Ministry now. He worked for the Wizengamot and he was actually pretty good at it. He was studying to be a lawyer. Kind of funny if one thought about it and Nicole didn't miss the irony. Her 'uncle' didn't either. But it didn't matter. All that mattered was that he had a real, respectable, steady, safe job and he was well...he was happy. It was where he belonged. Nicole had never seen him so content before, just thinking about it made her a little misty eyed. Of course there was still that doubt, they both had it, that doubt and fear that it would all end without a moment's notice. They were both too experienced and wise to expect it to last forever and there had been problems. It hadn't been smooth sailing the entire time and there had been a few close calls...but they managed to pull through-with Morgan's help of course. God she really was a blessing in disguise. Nicole didn't think her 'uncle' would have ever tried to get amnesty in the first place if it wasn't for her. Nicole really owed her a lot. If it wasn't for Morgan, Nicole wouldn't have a proper family like she had now. Hell she even had a baby brother. Who would have ever thought she'd have a normal family? She sure as hell never thought it would happen. But now she had a family and, sure it wasn't perfect, but it was beautiful. She had never felt so loved or happy before. It was the best feeling in the world. Of course Nicole often wondered how her 'uncle' had managed to receive amnesty. As far as she knew he didn't have any connections in the ministry as they had all been eradicated when the Ministry redid itself. She had asked multiple times and he always blew her off. He told her just to be grateful and let sleeping dogs lie. Nicole wasn't happy with that answer and neither was Morgan but there was no getting through to him. Still she supposed he was right. Why cause trouble when life was so perfect? Still she couldn't help but wonder...It didn't matter though. Not really. All that mattered was that they were a normal part of society now and they didn't have to live in fear anymore. Nicole's friends had noticed her sudden mood swing. She had gone from being a nervous, frightened wreck, to the happiest person in the world. They had asked her what was up and if she was high, but she always deflected their questions. She didn't want to share the long painful story with them, especially when it didn't matter anymore. So she just told them that her 'uncle' switch jobs and things were finally going well. They naturally pressed but she just gave them a large grin and they eventually gave up. Another thing that was making her happy was that her relationship with Bailey was going well. She had never had a long term relationship before, in fact they scared the crap out of her, but things weren't scary with Bailey. Of course part of it was that Bailey was just as scared of commitment as she was and also because Bailey never pushed. Bailey was content with letting Nicole be which was such a relief. So basically life was perfect for her, absolutely perfect. A part of her was scared that it would end, but a large part of her said fuck it. She would worry about that when it happened. Right now she simply wanted to enjoy life since it was so damn beautiful. That was until finals came. Nicole suppressed a frustrated sigh as she entered the library. God damn it, she really hated school. Why the hell she had to finish her education here was beyond her. It wasn't like she was learning anything useful. Nicole walked to the back of the library and sat at a large table. She placed her books down and took out some parchment and a quill from her bag. Seriously, was she ever going to need to know about Olog the Troll? No. Why the hell would anyone need to know about Olog the troll? Another thing that was frustrating her was that she had no fucking idea what she wanted to do once she left school and she had to decide soon. She only had one more year left and than she was gone. Fuck. Nicole opened her history book and tried to pay attention as her mind began to wonder. God she really hated studying. Why couldn't she simply have been born knowing everything? Why couldn't she have been born with a job? That would make life so much easier. All right, focus. Olog was born in....blah, blah, blah, blah. Oh yeah this was going to be a productive study session. OOC: Sorry this is crap. |

Rebecca was in a bad mood. At not quite seventeen years of age, she was absolutely certain that the life ahead of her was going to be long and hopeless. Alright, so she was being melodramatic. She had a right to be. If anyone did, it was her. After all the things she'd put up with from Corey; his disappearance, his return to her life after nearly a year where she thought he was dead, his disapproval of her friends, his leaving to start his new life after Hogwarts and rarely contacting her. She'd put up with it because she had been (all right, if she was honest, a part of her still was) in love with him. Sure, she was sixteen, and he several years older, but he'd always been her best friend. Then he'd been her boyfriend, and she'd loved him. Perhaps it had been unwise of her; after all, for all Corey had loved her back, he'd stopped understanding her. After his reappearance in her life, all she had been able to think about was the fact that he was alive, and with her. She hadn't cared that he'd seen horrid things, or that the two of them had already started changing. Whoever said we were all fools in love had been right. She hadn't been able to think beyond the fact the she loved him, hadn't wanted to. After his return, her life, the life she'd put on hold, had begun again. She'd met Nikki, and Cas, and her life had changed again. For all that Corey was the friend of her childhood, he was more given to being sweet and awkward and good, and Nicole and Casimir allowed her to be what she was without worrying every ten seconds that they were going to get caught. With the two of them, charming suits of armor, painting a castle pink, and turning a butler into a dog were normal occurrences. Rebecca loved every minute of the insanity. But Corey thought they were a bad influence, and because she loved him, Becky had tried to be more of what he had expected. She'd always been available, always happy to see him, and she didn't ever try to make him understand what exactly it was Cas and Nikki gave him. And so, just after he left Hogwarts for good, Becky had finally given in and slept with him. At the time, it had seemed like a good idea. Now she recognized it as the beginning of the end. From that moment, neither of them had been the same, and they'd drifted apart so much that, though they'd still been together, it was more of a technicality than anything else. So the fact that Corey had finally manned up and broken things off shouldn't have upset her. But it did. She hadn't been in love with him for months, maybe more than a year, but she hadn't realized it until she'd gotten a letter telling her that he'd found someone else. Someone closer to his own age, whose parents wouldn't kill him when they found him in bed with her, as Becky's would have. Someone whose friends didn't call him Squcumber and try to turn him into a girl. Someone sweet and nice and good like him. Rebecca was so tired of being sweet and nice and good. Sure, she was a Prefect. In all truth, she'd probably be Head Girl; there weren't any other in her year who were really eligible for the position. But being a Prefect didn't mean she couldn't be tired of being the one everyone looked to to be perfect in school, in life...in everything. She purposefully hadn't opened a book to study for upcoming exams, so why she was in the Library, she didn't know. She just wanted some peace and quiet, a place where no one expected her to be devastated because her perfect relationship with her perfect boyfriend was finally over, and no one knew her last name and judged her by it. She wasn't devastated. It was more like she was upset that she wasn't upset; after all, she'd spent the last three years with that blasted idiot, you'd expect her to feel something. But she didn't. So when she spotted Nicole, actually attempting to study for once, Rebecca closed her eyes. Nikki knew her better than practically anyone else. She'd probably be understanding and ask if snogging Becky's brains out would make her feel better. Rebecca wasn't up for it. She had wanted to be alone, but that didn't look possible. So she'd just have to hope that Nikki didn't ask any questions. She plopped down into the chair next to her friend, tossed her dark hair aside, and gave what she hoped was a smile rather than a grimace. "Hey, sexy." she cooed. "Hard at work, are we?" |

Nicole still couldn't get over the fact that her life was normal. She often caught herself lost in thought just reliving the pass few months. She knew she was being a bit of a dork and most students wouldn't have cared, but then again most students had normal families. Nicole never knew the meaning of the word normal. When her father was alive and she wasn't old enough to go to school, they were constantly moving from place to place, using fake names, caring around fake I.D.s, and always fearing the worst. The only stable thing thing she ever had in her life was that her father would get drunk and bring home some whore and that her 'uncle' would be the only oen she could ever go to if she needed help. Don't get her wrong, she loved her father, but he sure as hell would never win the best father of the year award. Things became somewhat stable when she turned eleven and was sent to Hogwarts, but even then she was never quite normal. Normal kids didn't have to be afraid of telling others what their parents did for a living. The best few years had been far from normal as well and she knew her friends had always suspected something, but thankfully they never said anything. But now everything had changed. She wouldn't invite her friends over to her house anything soon since her 'uncle' was still a prickly bastard, but she could easily talked about what he did without fear. Her friends probably found it odd that all of a sudden she was a chatter box about her family, but how could she hid it? Things were going so well. She was actually testing how far she could take this normalcy with him. He was still a bit guarded but she was warming him up. People weren't afraid to talk to him anymore at work which was a plus. He was going to kill her though because yesterday she jokingly asked him to take her to his office one day for bring your daughter to work day. He nearly had a heartattack. He still had that guarded nature to him. Still things were slowly improving. During spring break she had managed to convince him to take Morgan out for a pleasant evening in the town. Taking care of Andrew had been a bitch, but thankfully the baby didn't die while they were gone and it seemed like they had enjoyed themselves. One of these days, Nicole was going to get her 'uncle' to take her out for some quality time together. Hopefully he wouldn't kill her for that. Hopefully. Things were going so well that Nicole was getting hopefully ambitious. They didn't have to fear or hide anymore and they had grown closer as a family. Hell they were a family, they just needed to make it legal. During the last year Nicole had come to see Morgan as the mother she never had and in some strange way she always considered 'Uncle' Eric to be her real father and Andrew was totally her younger brother. It just didn't make sense to her why they didn't make their family official yet. She hadn't mentioned it to her uncle yet, but she loved to talk about it to Morgan. They would stay up late and just dream about what it'd be like if Morgan and 'Uncle' Eric ever got married. They always laughed about it in the end, but Nicole really wished it'd happen and soon. She was trying to gather up teh courage to talk about it with 'Uncle' Eric. It seemed so obvious if one thought about it. They loved each other deeply and they were practically made for each other. Still marriage was a big step and there was a lot about 'Uncle' Eric that Morgan didn't know. Hell there was a lot of stuff Nicole didn't know, but that didn't matter right? Not when love was involved anyway...right? Oh what was the point of dreaming? She knew it would never happen. 'Uncle' Eric would never propose. Damn it. Why did he have to be so freaking...retarded? Still there was a part of Nicole, a part that she never shared with anyone alive, that desperately wished they'd get married so she could call them Mom and Dad. Yes, she desperately wanted to have a real Mom and Dad. She had come close to saying it out loud which would probably be the worst mistake she could ever make in her life. She knew that Morgan wouldn't mind, she'd probably think it was cute, but her 'uncle' would flip shit. Still she had never said the words 'Mom' before and she rarely said 'Dad' even when her Dad was alive. God how she'd love to say Mom, just once. Just one freakin' time. It'd be even better if she could say Mom and Dad together in the same sentence. Imagine if she could go up to her friends and say, "Guys, this is my Mom and Dad." The very thought gave her chills. She sighed contently as she stared off into space. Oh God damn it, she didn't again! She shook her head and looked down at her blank piece of parchment. Yeah, this wasn't working. Nicole had no idea why she was even here. She had never really studied before and she got by fine....all right maybe not great, but she passed all of her classes, most of them anyway. All right so she wasn't the greatest student, so what? It had never mattered before. So why was she studying now? She didn't really know. She was just bored and wanted to bring home some good grades for once. Unfortunately having her 'uncle' home more meant he was actually paying attention to her grades now. Besides she needed to cover all of her bases because she still had no idea what her future career was going to be. But she was getting nowhere. What she needed was a nice distraction. "Hey, sexy. Hard at work, are we?" Nicole looked up and grinned when she saw Becky. There was the distraction she needed. She hadn't seen her crazy Gryffindor friend in a while and they had a lot of catching up to do. She supposed her friend simply didn't want to put up with her extra good mood and Nicole couldn't blame her. She supposed she had been a little too chipper about her family situation. She just hoped Becky had been having such a good time as well. Apparently not. Nicole frowned slightly when she saw the 'grin' on Becky's face. Oh dear something was wrong. She had been friends with Becky for a little more than a year now and she could always tell when something was wrong. God damn it, what had happened now? "Hey, gorgeous, you know me. I'm always hard at work," she said with a wink, "But what's up with you?" |

Nicole looked happy. That was all Becky could think as she surreptitiously watched her friend struggle to concentrate on whatever it was she was studying. Sure, it had been slightly odd at first, not to mention annoying, when Nikki had started bubbling over with happiness over her family, especially her uncle. As far as Rebecca could tell, Eric didn't exactly treat Nikki all that well, but she apparently adored him, and having her nephew around had done wonders for her personality. Having grown up with two parents who adored one another (case in point; she had siblings who were nearly fourteen years her junior. If that didn't demonstrate filial devotion, she didn't know what did.), Becky knew she had no right to be annoyed by her friend's obvious joy in finally having her shot at the whole happy family deal. But that had been months earlier. Yes, she'd hung out with Nikki since then, but Rebecca had been concentrating more on trying to fix her relationship with Corey, which was rather difficult to do considering he was in London and she was in Scotland, stuck in school, than talking to Nikki about life. Still, it was evident that those few months had been kind to her. For the first time since Rebecca had met her, Nicole wasn't jumping around from place to place, person to person. She hadn't gotten any irate girls pounding on her door complaining about that Parker girl who hit on them in the bathroom. And she hadn't called Cas an ugly cow in at least two weeks. Now that Rebecca thought about it, that was a little frightening, but since she'd been guilty of being a bad friend for a long while, she ignored that. "Hey, gorgeous, you know me. I'm always hard at work. But what's up with you?" Rebecca grinned, this time more genuinely. "You? Never. The only time I ever saw you work nearly this hard was when we tried to force Cas into that tutu. And if he'd been feeling at all cooperative that day, you wouldn't have even broken a sweat." She caught the frown and guessed at its origins, but she wanted to be normal for at least a few more minutes, so she ignored it. Ignoring things was something she'd become quite good at recently. "So, what's this I hear about you and a certain Welsh beauty getting...close...in the last few weeks?" she asked, hoping that it would hold her friend off for at least a few minutes. "Me?" she smiled again, but her eyes were troubled. "You know, same old, same old. Bailing Cas out of detention, tormenting my parents, looking for a man to worship and adore me." Her eyes fell, but to her credit, she didn't cry. All her tears had fallen long before. "Just the usual drama." |
