"I don't have a preferred team. I see things I like in multiple teams. That and I love to be able to pick who I cheer for. I'm bipolar." At Casimir's comment, something happened. For a second, the corners of Ezequiel's mouth twitched. He almost smiled. That was very rare. He was surprised about it himself. El rarely showed any emotion, be they joy, anger, fear or sadness. It wasn't like he was some machine that didn't have those feelings, but he suppressed them and did not like to show them to others. Why exactly? Not even Ezequiel himself could explain that properly. As far as he had known, he had always been that way. But he brushed it off and put any thoughts about himself away for the time being. "True... Acknowledging the strengths and weaknesses of both teams is a prudent approach," El said, but refrained from adding 'Something I didn't expect of you'. It might make him sound judicious. Another rare course of action - it wasn't exactly like Ezequiel did not take others's feelings into account, but usually he just didn't care and could appear rather blunt. When it came to critiscism, he could seem exceptionally sharp and he supposed he hurt the feelings of those who couldn't handle it. But for some reason, he stopped himself this time. Perhaps he was merely enjoying himself with this conversation. "Other than Quidditch. Do you have real fun? I mean real fun. Adventures and the like. Not exploring the grounds mind you, but some fun like I do? Or are you just boring?" Ezequiel shrugged. "That all varies on perspective. Perhaps some of the things you consider 'real fun', are dull to me," he replied at first. "But given your personality, I suppose I would be boring to you." |

"True... Acknowledging the strengths and weaknesses of both teams is a prudent approach," Wow. Dude of many words. Not. But he obviously loved his dictionary. Prudent? Who the hell says prudent? And acknowledging? What the hell?! Ok. Maybe Cas was overreacting. But still, this kid just sat there, emotionless and all that and expressed how much he thought Cas' idea was "prudent". Fuck him. Actually, Cas had just noticed that the kid didn't smile. Who didn't smile? Who didn't use their goddamn face? THAT'S WHAT IT WAS FOR!!! And his stupid "air". Zeke was starting to annoy him. Well, he probably wouldn't be so annoying if he just talked like a human. A human his age. "That all varies on perspective. Perhaps some of the things you consider 'real fun', are dull to me, But given your personality, I suppose I would be boring to you." "Given your personality, I suppose I would be a little too mental for you." Cas shot back. Why did Zeke generalize? He didn't know anything about Cas. Well, except for his skills at causing trouble. Other than that, Cas was a stranger to Zeke, and yet he assumed that Cas would find him tedious. Maybe Cas would humor him? Or just annoy him? Annoy him, that was it. "No, I like all types of people. Loud, quiet, shy, fun, boring (like you) and all other sorts. People come in different colors, why not enjoy some?" That sounded stupid. Stupid and horrific. Why couldn't Cas shut his mouth? |

"Given your personality, I suppose I would be a little too mental for you." Now it seemed that Ezequiel had struck a chord somehow. Or perhaps Casimir's patience with him had run thin... El didn't respond just yet. He merely blinked and then continued to observe. Perhaps in the end, Casimir was just the same as everyone else; he had long-since gotten used to the fact that most people found him strange. Many left him alone from the moment they first saw him; others, like Cas, tried to interact with Ezequiel but grew tired of him. He didn't blame them. Ezequiel supposed he was strange to others, but, through his general personality and his experiences his life, this was simply the only way that El thought he could act. At least, that's what he believed. "No, I like all types of people. Loud, quiet, shy, fun, boring (like you) and all other sorts. People come in different colors, why not enjoy some?" Ezequiel didn't fully understand Casimir this time. Did he mean that he should act like others or like others for being different? But whatever. He had grown tired of this student. He didn't understand why he'd spent such a long time talking to him anyway. Ezequiel stood up and snatched up his bag. "I'm afraid I have no more time for idle chit-chat," he stated, looking directly at Cas. "I still have classes to attend. Good day to you, Casimir Dragomeru." And without any further explanation, Ezequiel made his way past the other Slytherins and left the Great Hall. |

After a long day of classes, Asteria was glad she was done for the day. She was sitting at the Hufflepuff table by herself with a book open next to her plate. Considering it was the end of the day, the Great Hall wasnt particularly crowded. Her table was nearly deserted so she'd chosen a seat right in the middle. Normally she sat in a seat closest to the front of the massive room but not today. She wanted to be alone with her food and book. The past few weeks have not been great for her. Even if she did find herself slowly coming back to the land of the living now. The whole fiasco with Casimir was always in the back of her mind but she's come to the point where she didnt dwell on it so much. She had her classes and a few close friends to keep her busy. One of her dormmates invited her to a whole day of shopping in Hogsmeade a couple weeks ago and Asteria couldnt remember the last time she laughed so hard before then. She would be forever grateful to the girl for getting her out of her mopey mood. Her classes were demanding as well. She had so much homework at night that she didnt have time to sit and think about Casimir too much. That was probably a good thing though. Her parents were starting to worry less about her too. At first their owls sounded like they were close to coming to Hogwarts to bring her home. That was the last thing Asteria wanted though. She really felt like she had to finish the school term out without any interruptions. Luckily her parents eventually agreed so here she was. Her sister has done her best to cheer Asteria up too. She even took her to Flourish & Blotts for a book shopping spree. Athena must've spent all her galleons on her that weekend but Asteria couldnt be more grateful. Her thoughts were interrupted when someone sat down beside her. She looked over and saw a classmate from her Potions class. Giving him a smile, she said, "Hey Daniel. What's up?" He gave her a smile in return and opened his Potions book. He cleared his throat and said, "Hey Asteria. I'm having a little trouble with our homework for this week. Of course, in order to complete it, we need to know the ingredients for Polyjuice Potion but I always have a hard time remembering them. Can you please help me?" Asteria was prepared to list the ingredients for him until she saw the smirk on his face. Did he really need help or was he....? No way. Shaking her head slightly, Asteria grabbed his book and flipped through the pages of the Potions book to the Polyjuice Potion section and pointed to the list of ingredients for him. He bumped his shoulders with hers and laughed. "I'm such an idiot. I cant believe I didnt see that." Asteria didnt believe it for a second but she still couldnt help but laugh at him. "It's okay. We all forget things sometimes." |

Casimir had been Casimir today. Except, not really. It was the weekend, and he'd slept in and missed breakfast, yada yada, cleaned himself up, made himself pretty and then he went off on his little adventures. Which wasn't much, since everyone was outside on a beautiful day like today. Of course, Cas preferred the cool air of the stone castle to the humid and sunny day outside. Meh. He could be a vampire. But...that seemed boring. No...he'd like to be something exotic...cool and creepy at the same time, with vibrant colors and... Cas had pissed the librarian off, a professor, the caretaker, and someone's owl, which all in turn led to 3 more detentions to his list. It was amazing how Flitwick dealt with him. He still hadn't been warned about his ridiculous behavior, not that his behavior was a problem. But still, he thought someone cared. Apparently not. So that was when he decided it was time to eat. No more trouble for the day, hopefully. That was, of course, impossible. He more or less was going to do something stupid. He could feel it. It was in his blood. And brain. And heart. And hands. He was a lost cause. Cas entered the great hall, looking around at the basically minimally populated hall and headed for the gryffindor table. As he was walking down the row, he noticed two people talking at the Hufflepuff table. He saw Asteria. He noticed her instantly. And then there was some guy. Some idiot who was talking to her with his book and then smiling stupidly. Ugh. He hated stupid people. Didn't this guy know how to pick a girl up? Honestly? Cas sat down, positioning himself so that he could see Asteria very clearly. Two girls to his left got up and positioned themselves on either side of his body. Grinning, he looked away from Asteria and nodded at the girls. "Hi Cas. We were wondering if we could eat breakfast with you." "Well, actually Ally, it's brunch. But yeah, you can." The girls smiled and started piling little tidbits of food on their plates. Cas reached for a giant croissant and started stuffing it in his face. He then looked back at Asteria and frowned. The guy had just nudged her. He touched her. Ugh. Why was he hitting on her? And why was Asteria letting it happen? Didn't she say she'd cared about Cas? Well, Cas had blown her off. Right? After all, it was just...insane. And so....Asteria was within full rights to flirt with other guys. It was just...Cas didn't expect it. And it bothered him. No, it irked him. It drove him nuts! His hand balled up into a fist, but then let go, knowing that the boy, however stupid he was, was completely innocent. "Right Cas?" Cas zoned back in to the two girls beside him and smiled. "Sorry?" "We were just discussing how Asteria could lighten up a little bit." "What? What are you talking about?" "C'mon Cas, we've seen her arguing with you plenty of times. Everyone knows you two argue like a married couple. It's kind of funny actually. I don't know why you're friends with her though. She's so BORING." Cas looked away from the girl and back to Asteria. Was she boring? No. She wasn't! She was just different. More sophisticated. And far too good for Cas. Why didn't he go and join the army or something. Then he could go die in some stupid war and not have to worry about Asteria? Yeah. That would work. |

While Daniel looked at the list of ingredients for Polyjuice Potion, Asteria grabbed a cookie from the middle of the table and took a bite. Maybe she read him wrong earlier. Maybe he hadnt been flirting with her after all. Her experience with this kind of thing was minimal so she still wasnt a pro at this. Of course, she was only 14 years old. She probably shouldnt be so experienced with boys, according to her mother. Her mom has always told her to wait on that special guy before she gave her heart away. Too late for that. Her heart was somewhere wandering around Rome probably picking up other girls so he could forget about her. It was just as well because she was trying to do the same thing. Maybe a trip would do her good sometime soon. It would be a chance to clear her head and refocus on her studies. One of these days Casimir Dragomeru would be a distant memory to her. That was what he wanted, right? Asteria sighed and finished her cookie just before she realized that Daniel was staring at her. Did she have crumbs all over mouth? She quickly checked but didnt find anything there. "What?" Daniel shook his head and laughed. "You are a hard person to figure out, Asteria." Frowning, Asteria wasnt sure if she should be offended or pleased by that comment. Clearing her throat of the lingering crumbs, she glanced back at him. "What do you mean?" Daniel leaned closer to her. "I guess I dont get why you hang around that Dragomeru guy. He's not good enough for you. Besides, the rumor is that you two fight like cats and dogs." Asteria stared at him as if he had two heads. There was a rumor going around school about her? Everyone knew about her and Casimir? She closed her book and leaned down to grab her bag from under the table. "That's absurd. Casimir is more than good enough for me. You have no right saying that, Daniel." She stuffed her book in her bag and was about to get up when he stopped by grabbing her arm. He actually looked sorry so Asteria simply stayed in her seat with her bag in her lap. Daniel glanced behind them. "Then why is he sitting at a table staring daggers into the back of my head?" It took everything in her not to glance back at Casimir. So, he was back from Rome. She wondered if he found some Roman girl who helped him forget about her. Wasnt that what he wanted? Asteria looked down at her bag and shrugged at Daniel's question. "I have no idea. Maybe it's not you that he's sending daggers to." He lifted an eyebrow and glanced back at Casimir. "No, I'm pretty sure it's me he's looking at with a death glare and I dont think it's those two girls he's sitting with that are the problem." She closed her eyes and could only imagine what those girls were trying to do. Maybe they were trying to convince him to go to a party or have a date. It wasnt any of her business though. So, why did it hurt to know that he was only a few feet away from her and she couldnt do anything about it. Asteria put her bad over her shoulder and gave Daniel an apologetic look. "I'm sorry but I have to go." She stood up just in time for a single tear to fall down her cheek. He must've noticed because he caught up with her just before she reached the end of the table. He grabbed her shoulders and pulled her into a gentle hug. At first, Asteria resisted but then realized she really needed it and leaned into the hug. She brushed away the other tears that had fallen. She was so messed up. Daniel must've sensed that this was exactly what she needed right now and it was nice. |

It seemed that whoever the twit that was flirting with Asteria was, it didn't matter. Because she looked like she had no problem with him. Damn! Why did Cas even care? It wasn't like he owned Asteria or anything. It's not like he was dating her. No. Asteria was Asteria. And she could flirt with whoever she wanted. It seemed though, that the guy was the only person doing the flirting. Really now. Did she really not see it? Was that it? This guy was being cheesy too. Major cheesy. It was pathetic really. But maybe Asteria needed cheesy? Hmm. Either way, that guy looked behind his shoulder and then began to speak with Asteria. He looked back again, and Cas gave him a death glare. He better not hurt her. He better not...touch her again. Cas knew he had no right to "claim" Asteria. But honestly? Was he just going to let some random guy reel her in after Cas broke her heart? Or his....or whatever? "Cas. Why're you staring at Dan? Really? Don't tell me you're into guys!" One of the girls exclaimed. "Have you-" "-NO! I'm not gay. Why does everyone seem to wonder that?" "Ah. So then you're being protective?" "What?" Cas looked away from the so called Dan and stared at the red head next to him. "What are you trying to say?" The red head smiled. "You're claiming your territory. You like Asteria. You just won't admit it. But I can tell, by the way you're looking at Dan. You don't want him anywhere near her." The other girl nodded, "It's true. It's a pity your heart's set on Asteria though. She's so plain. C'mon Cas. Look at us, enjoy the fun." Cas looked back up at Asteria and sighed. No. She's not plain. And she's so much better... Cas piled more food on his plate and decided he would stake out the little "chat" the two were having. Soon though, Asteria got up in what seemed like a huff and grabbed her bag. She was walking off, and when Cas saw Asteria's face, he wondered if he'd seen a tear on her cheek. Why would she be crying? What had that stupid twit said? Cas moved to get up, but then saw Dave...no...Dan...go after Asteria. Oh. Smooth. Cas begged for him to fall...or something. Don't go after Asteria. Don't. But Dan caught up with her alright, and then the next thing Cas knew, Asteria was hugging Dave. Willingly. No! What? Why? Why would she hug that twit? He made her cry!...Or did Cas make her cry...possibly. Oh no...He'd probably made her cry after their little encounter in London before he'd gone to Rome. He didn't forget how that had ended. Cas tried to get up, but the girls next to him restrained him. "What are you doing Cas? You can't just prance up there!" "I was thinking about bashing his face into the table. Would that work?" "NO! You have to plan it out. Wait for the opportune moment. You have to make it look perfect. Yes, you can punch him. But at the right moment. He's just hugging her. Wait for something more...drastic?" The other girl explained. Wow. They were actually making sense. Now if only he'd remembered their names? "So I'm jsut going to sit here, watching Dave-" "Dan." "Dan with his arms around her?" "Basically" Cas slumped back into his seat and watched. He prayed that Dan was stupid enough to try something. Anything. Oh how he wanted to bash someone's head in. Oh how he wanted to beat up stupid Dan. How he wanted to have Asteria in his own arms, not in Dan's. He wanted to kiss her again. Taste her lips. Make her melt. Make everything ok. |

A small part of Asteria felt a little weird hugging Daniel but he was simply being nice. He may not fully understand what was going on with her and Casimir but he was smart enough to sense when she was upset and knew exactly what she needed. Maybe she really had misinterpreted his flirting earlier. Maybe he really had needed help with his homework. God, Asteria was so naive when it came to the male gender. This whole experience with Casimir was starting to undo that though. Speaking of whom, Asteria still had not looked in his direction. She was afraid that he would either be watching her with some kind of hate in his eyes or that he would be having fun talking to whomever was at the table with him. Either way, she still wanted didnt want to look at him. Not after the way he left her standing in Diagon Alley recently. One minute he was yelling at her and the next he was kissing her. What on earth was wrong with him? After everything she'd admitted to him that day, he still seemed to not like her as a person. It didnt make any sense to her. Asteria pulled away from Daniel with an embarrassed smile. "I'm sorry. I'm sort of a mess right now so you will have to excuse me." Daniel swung his arms behind him and didnt seem to mind her recent behavior. "It's okay. We all have bad days." Asteria couldnt help but smile slightly. More like a bad year for her but she wasnt about to admit that to him. Besides, she barely knew this boy. She wasnt about spill her life story to him. She watched him glance over his shoulder again but she didnt pay any attention to who he was looking at but she could guess who it was. "Please stop looking over at Casimir, Daniel. I dont care what he thinks of me." Okay, so that wasnt exactly true. She cared too much about what he thought about her which is why she was so depressed about this whole thing. Daniel cleared his throat and brought his attention back to her. "Well, I can tell that he thinks a whole lot about you. Otherwise, he wouldnt be watching us like a hawk. What's with you two anyways?" Asteria crossed her arms over her chest and shrugged. "I have no idea. At one time I guess you could say we were friends but now he hates me for some reason. I certainly dont hate him." Daniel rolled his eyes and laughed. "It sounds like he needs a little push in the right direction." Before Asteria knew what was happening, she was pulled against Daniel's chest and he was kissing her. For a second, she was so shocked that she couldnt move. What was he doing? She barely knew this boy! Asteria pushed against his chest to pull away from him. Glaring at him, she demanded, "What do you think you are doing?" He simply laughed at her and leaned close to her ear and whispered, "I'm trying to give your fellow a push to get off his seat and come over here and punch me in the face for touching you." Asteria shook her head and pushed him back. "You're crazy! He would never do such a thing." Right? |

Cas rolled his hands into fists and kept staring at the hugging couple. Really! Did they have to do that here? After all, it was a very public place! And Cas really didn't want to watch those two with their arms around eachother. Ugh. It was gross. And it made Cas angry. He should have been the one with his arms around her. He should have been the one holding her, making her feel better. But Cas had been so stupid. Such a fool. "I can't watch. They're disgusting." Cas growled to the girls next to them. "Haha, Cas! See? You actually care! Now, you can't just let your emotions drive you. Their just hugging. It's not like they're snogging or anything!" The red head tried to assure him. Right. At least they weren't kissing. That was an improvement, right? Or was it? Could things get worse? Probably. Oh Merlin. Asteria and Dan separated. Good. Finally. It was starting to get annoying. But then Dan looked back at Casimir. Why did he keep doing that? What was so interesting about Cas' face? Or was it something else. Was Dan showing off? Priding himself about holding Asteria and then shoving it in Cas' face? Was that it? God. Why did Dan even bother? He had Asteria. Right? Why make Cas feel worse? Oh, of course. They were guys. Now he remembered. Sighing, Cas looked away as Asteria talked to Dan. He wasn't ready for Asteria to "move on". Not that there was anything to move on from. After all, Asteria and Cas had only been friends, if anything. It's not like they'd had a relationship. Cas wished they had though. Maybe if they were together, they'd stop arguing? Or would it only get worse? Hmm. Looking back up, time seemed to slow because Cas saw Dan pulling Asteria towards him. Cas knew immediately what was happening. Jumping up, Cas clambered over the table to the other side and as he ran towards Dan with a vengeance, Cas watched him kiss Asteria. Cas couldn't stand it! How dare he kiss Asteria! How dare he lay a hand on Asteria? How dare he??? Cas struggled past a couple of students walking rather slowly, and then as Asteria pushed Dan away, Cas stopped. Maybe she hadn't like it? Maybe she hated Dan? That was good! That was really good! But apparently, that wasn't the case, because Dan leaned in again, whispering something in her ear. God. He was good. He was reeling her in. Just like Cas would have if Asteria had been any other girl. Asteria looked horrified, or just surprised. Cas decided that that was it. He wouldn't take anymore crap from Dan. Pulling him by the shoulder and turning him around to face him, Cas glared angrily at Dan. "You bastard!" Cas then took his left fist and planted it straight in Dan's abdomen. Then, he took his right arm and punched Dan square up in the chin. Dan's head snapped backwards as stumbled back and fell on the hufflepuff table with a crash of plates and goblets. Cas then grabbed Dan by the shirt and pulled him towards him, getting his right fist ready. Cas paused though, watching Dan's pained expression. This was what he had been kicked out of Beauxbatons for. This was why he was in Hogwarts. Was he going to jeopardize his last chance at an education for some stupid boy? It took Cas a couple seconds and then with a single motion, he dropped Dan as if he were contaminated with the Black Plague. Looking around, he saw everyone in the great hall watching him, stunned. He had just about nearly beat the kid into a pulp. Drooping his shoulders, Cas glanced over at Asteria, wondering what she was thinking. He should say something. Something profound or meaningful. But...he couldn't think of anything. The cat bit his tongue. And Cas gave the professors three minutes to get to him. Then he'd be off to the headmaster's office. Oops. |

This boy was crazy! Did he really think that by making Casimir jealous with kissing and hugging her was going to suddenly make him realize his feelings? Yeah right. Casimir made his feelings very clear to her in Diagon Alley. Well he sort of did. He just kept going hot and cold with and she didnt know what to think. All they did was fight about stupid things. Surely that would stop now since they werent exactly talking now. Out of the corner of her eye, she could see someone walking towards them. All Asteria could do was stare as Casimir grabbed Daniel's shoulder and punched him in the stomach and face. What was wrong with Casimir now? What did Daniel ever do to him? She winced when the poor boy hit the Hufflepuff table. She was about to run to him when she noticed him smirking. In fact, he looked pretty happy with himself. Huh? Asteria was so confused right now that she felt like hitting both of them and running away. She walked over to Daniel and gently helped him off the table. His nose was bleeding all over his robes so she knew she was going to have to help him to the hospital wing. She was angry with him though. Why would he willingly put himself through this only to prove a point? No wonder he kept looking over at Casimir. It seemed he'd been trying to make Casimir jealous all along. Asteria rolled her eyes. Boys. "You did this on purpose, didnt you?" She glared at Daniel. Even his bloody nose wasnt going to stop her from giving him a piece of her mind. Dan simply kept smirking. "Well, at least now you have your answer to everything." A couple of girls rushed to his side to walk him out of the Great Hall towards the Hospital Wing. It was then that Asteria realized everyone there was staring at them. Daniel's parting words caused her to pause in her pursuit of going after Casimir next. This was her answer to everything? Did he mean that Casimir really did care for her and that was why he just punched some guy? He was jealous? Asteria rubbed her head as she turned towards Casimir with an angry stare. She didnt even know how to begin here. What on earth possessed him to do this? "Have you lost your mind, Casimir? You just punched someone and sent him flying across a table! Did you just suddenly pick today to have anger issues?" By now, an even bigger crowd had gathered around them. Asteria didnt care though. She was angry enough to not care about what everyone heard her say or what they saw her do. It probably wouldnt be long until a couple professors came to take Casimir away so she didnt have long to get some kind of explanation from him. It better be a good one. "Why did you do this?" |

"Have you lost your mind, Casimir? You just punched someone and sent him flying across a table! Did you just suddenly pick today to have anger issues?" Cas looked down at Dan, who was smirking his head off. Ok, really now. Was there a point to all of that smirking? Damn it! Cas felt like punching the twit again! Honestly! He was just punched two times! He was happy about it? But before Cas had a chance to punch Dan's face out again, a couple of girls took him away. Probably to the hospital wing. Good riddance. He looked over at Asteria, stone-faced. Yes. Casimir had become angry. Jealous. Asteria didn't look too happy with him either. What she said was right. He'd lost his mind. His self control. Everything that kept a person sane, he'st lost it. Oops. Cas now realized that he could possibly be seeing the end of his Hogwarts career. He had punched someone. And as asteria put it, sent him flying across the table. Beauxbatons would have dropped him in a heartbeat. But would Headmaster Flitwick? Hopefully not. "Yeah. I guess I needed a punching bag." Cas replied sarcastically. He was going to get it for that one. Well, he deserved that. "Why did you do this?" Cas shrugged and noticed the growing crowd. Well, now he wasn't going to say anything. Not with people and their love for eavesdropping and watching drama unfold. Meh. He needed a quick answer though. Something that wouldn't piss Asteria off even more. Maybe she did have the capability of punching his lungs out. Who knew? The adrenaline was fading now, and Cas realized he'd been stupid. Asteria wasn't going to like him for this. He probably looked like some barbarian boy to her. Damn it. Damn her! Damn him! Why was he such an idiot??? Why did he do it? Why the hell had he punched the crap out of Dan? Looking away, Cas watched the group that had gathered around them. They were waiting. Waiting for him to do something stupid. Or say something stupid. That's what he did, right? Be stupid. It became very silent, and Cas heard a pair of commanding footsteps making their way to the circle. Cas looked back at Asteria. What was he supposed to say? What did she want him to say? Professor Tarendeau made her way through the crowd and looked from Asteria to Cas. She'd heard what happened. Stupid boy. Would he ever stop getting himself in trouble? Lem grabbed Cas by the arm. "This way Mr. Dragomeru. The Headmaster would like a word with you." The crowd around them ooed for a moment, before Lem gave them an icy glare. It was quiet again, and Lemw as dragging Cas out of the hall. Cas looked back at Asteria, and mustered an "I'm sorry" as he made his way past her. She for sure hated him now. Who wouldn't? Asteria would want no business with a rebel like Cas. She wouldn't ever want to be around someone who beat people up. Cas would have to go and be his lonesome self. And pray that the headmaster didn't kick him out. ooc: sorry! I fell asleep! |

"Yeah. I guess I needed a punching bag." A couple snickered at his response which only fueled Asteria's anger. She was not here to be a circus act for everyone to watch and laugh at. She did not find any of this funny in any way. Obviously Casimir thought this whole thing was a joke. He just punched someone just because he felt like it. That was unacceptable. Casimir needed to stop acting like a child and grow up. Asteria was tired of going around in circles with him. She gave the students who laughed an angry glare before turning back to Casimir. "You are such a child, Casimir. You're not even man enough to admit why you did this, are you?" Every bit of disappointment she felt reflected in her words. Why cant he go back to the Casimir she met months ago? He'd been so nice and charming. The Casimir standing in front of her was a complete jerk who didnt have the balls to admit his real feelings for her. It made her sad. Was she really that unlikeable? She watched him look around the crowd and could tell he wasnt going to say anything else in front of them. She couldnt really blame him for that but that wouldnt change anything. He still wouldnt say anything to her even if they were alone. She wanted to know why he was holding back from her so much. Didnt he know that was causing more damage between them? Asteria wasnted so much to give up on him but something always stopped her. She could see the sadness in him from whatever hurt he's been put through in the past. However that didnt excuse any of his behavior today. He acted like a lunatic today and she wasnt sure if she wanted to be around someone who liked going around punching people for no reason. Unless there was a good reason he did it... Footsteps behind her caused her to turn around. She saw Professor Tarendeau coming into the Great Hall and she did not look happy at all. Good. Maybe Casimir will get into a lot of trouble. Then he could think about what he's done. Asteria still wanted to know why though. She knew she wasnt going to get an answer out of him right now but she wasnt going to give up. For her own sanity, she needed to know. As the Professor escorted him out of the Great Hall, she heard his apology but it wasnt good enough. She watched them exit the room. The crowd was still surrounding her so looked at most of them and snapped, "Dont all of you have better things to do than stand there staring at me?!" She turned away and walked out of the Great Hall. |

Tatiana caught more than one Gryffindor smiling at her as she made her way through the Great Hall, heading towards some empty space at the far end of the house table, bag slung over her shoulder in a casual fashion. Some students (both younger and older, male and female) greeted her amicably and she returned their words in kind, experiencing at once a slight embarassment and surprised joy at the attention she had been receiving lately. Nonetheless, she could hardly hide her good mood and her jubilance showed: there was a glowing radiance to Tatiana that shone out from her in spite of her usually calm and controlled behaviour. Like candelight hidden behind one's hand or the rays of the sun peering just past the edges of clouds. Tanya had been doing well. For the past few months, she had shed some of her distant, closed and hesitant behaviour among her peers and found, to her shock, that many responded positively to her. Of course, the tiny matter of kicking the ass of a burly Slytherin that had been bullying a first-year girl may have had something to do with it. Since then, Tanya, for all her confidence still an awkward loner at Hogwarts, discovered that people were warming up to her and became more open with them herself as a result. People started remembering her name, as opposed to just calling her 'the American girl'. She helped younger students with their homework. She had people to talk to. Free afternoons were spent lazing away on the grounds, often with Tanya attempting to instruct her friends in the noble Muggle sport of soccer (so far with limited success). Some expressed wonderment at why she wasn't a Prefect. Hell, Tatiana had even been asked out on a date for the next time there was a trip to Hogsmeade - a suggestion that Tanya, in a panicked, knee-jerk reaction, had shot down before even seriously considering the matter, probably breaking the poor guy's heart. She felt more at home at Hogwarts than she had in a long time. But above all, among everyone else, Tatiana had Nicole, who was probably her best friend at the school so far, even if they didn't see each other as much as they liked (being in different houses and both being busy with schoolwork). Aside from the day they had met, they hadn't really spoken about the whole 'having-family-for-criminals'-thing and yet, Tanya felt closer to Nicole than to anyone else. Like she would understand, that she could confess anything to her without being judged. The fact that she was hilarious to hang out with probably helped. And the fact that she wasn't too hard on the eyes... Ugh, what was she saying?! Tanya wasn't like that! Inwardly chiding herself again, Tatiana sat down at the far end of the Gryffindor table and dumped her bag on the ground, not because she was intentionally avoiding people, but because she should be doing some serious homework and she found the library too quiet to her liking. With all the fun she'd been having, her grades were slipping and they weren't all that great to begin with. She was good with facts, but her aptitude for actual spellwork (or lack of it) was quite astonishing. She really couldn't place her finger on it and she became increasingly amazed that she had made it through her O.W.L.'s. Luckily, she'd been getting some help with homework, but Tatiana, rather independent, felt she should manage more on her own. And thus, she took out her wand and Charms book, intending to practice some simple spells. However, she found she was still unable to concentrate. Because there was one thing that plagued Tanya's mind: her father. She hadn't heard anything from him or about him in months, not since all this began... That was probably a good thing... Right? Or was it? What if he had already been killed by those criminals and the Aurors simply hadn't discovered the body yet...? Thoughts such as these tormented her on a daily base and aside from that, Tanya almost felt guilty for being as happy as she was here. It was a downer on her otherwise untroubled state of mind. Things had been...quiet and yet eventful(?) for Nicole during the last couple of months. On one hand nothing super huge had happened and at the same time a lot of little troublings things had happened and Nicole knew from experience that those little things would roll into one huge thing and in the end that huge thing would explode causing a huge disaster that would leave her shaken and miserable. She really couldn't put her finger on what was troubling about these events though as they weren't necessary bad in nature, they just felt bad. Did that make sense? She wasn't sure and she wasn't sure where all this frustration and fear was coming from...well that wasn't entirely true. She knew the cause she just...she didn't really want to deal with it. She was tired of it, if truth be told. She really wished that for once in her life she could have something normal to worry about. She'd kill to simply have girlfriend problems or grade problems not oh no my 'uncle' is fucking bastard who would rather get a hard on being a 'bad guy' then creating a safe environment for his family or my best friend is hooked on dangerous drugs that I gave her and now she's the biggest whore in the whole school and might be planning some kind of evil revenge scheme to get back at me for being a concerned friend. Seriously, was it too much to ask God to make her problems a little smaller and easier to handle? First off, she had no idea what to do with Becky. She was a loose cannon and they were going to have to have a serious and hard conversation that could either make or break their friendship. Nicole knew she was to blame for Becky's downfall, but at the same time she was so pissed at her friend for being so fucking stupid! When she first met Becky, the Moody girl was far from innocent but she was rather closed and up tight. She hadn't known how to open up and have some mischevious fun. Obviously Nicole-with some help from Cas-fixed that and Becky became the 'sane' lunatic in their trio. Everything was going well until Corey came back. Nicole had to admit that they had gone a little overboard on the crazy when Corey was around, but at the same time he egged them on by his reactions. However, that changed everything between him and Becky. Nicole didn't want to say that she helped drive them apart but at the same time she felt partially responsible. Things only got worst when Becky broke up with Corey. She was crushed. They were supposed to be together forever and all that crap. So what did Nicole do? Tell Becky to move on? Introduce her to another guy? Provide a sympathetic ear? Noooooo. She had to be the 'awesome' friend and give her something that would make all her troubles go away. It was supposed to be one pill, one time. It wasn't supposed to go on for months and it wasn't supposed to change Becky the way it had. It wasn't supposed to get this out of control. Nicole never thought she'd be a drug dealer and yet she got her friend hooked to the crap and to make matters worst she had gotten it (secretly) from one of her 'uncle's associates. Yes, her fucking 'uncle' had returned to a life of crime and was 'secretly' helping peddle drugs into the country right after he received a full pardon from the ministry. That was why she couldn't talk to anyone. If she talked to him about it he'd kill her for even messing with the stuff, then he'd kill her for giving drugs to a fucking MOODY!!! If Cael even had the slightest suspicion that something was wrong with his daughter it wouldn't be hard to trace where the drugs came from. Her 'uncle' would be dead and it'd be her fault. God damn it, how could she have been so fucking stupid?! Why had Becky let her down like this?! It was supposed to be a one time thing...why ,Becky, why? That was one problem and of course her 'uncle' was the other. He had returned to his old lifestlye and she was just waiting for the day he didn't come home. The worst part was that he acted like nothing was wrong. Oh like she was an idiot. She knew and she hated him for it. Why would he jeopardize everything for a chance to relive the glory days-which he hated by the way. Fuck he hated everything. She wasn't even sure if he really loved Morgan-not now anyway. God that man could be such a selfish asshole sometimes. The truth though was that she loved him even more now. She knew why he went back. She probably knew him better than anyone in this world just like he knew her better than anyone else-yes better than Becky, Cas, Dayla, or Bailey. She knew that he had been scared but she just wished he'd talk about it instead of reverting to his old ways. She just wanted him to be safe damn it. No one knew what the war had been like for her. What it had nearly costed her. How she used to stay up all night wondering what was happening out there, if her 'uncle'-the only true father figure she ever had-was still alive. Sometimes she even prayed for his safety and sometimes she'd scream at God for being such an asshole. Sometimes she would run into the forbidden forest and just scream. She hated rolling out of bed every morning and trying to pay attention to some stupid fucking spell in Charms when all she could think about was where was her 'uncle' now. She hated scanning the newspapers for news, anything about the outcome of the latest battles. She hated hanging out with Order kids just to hear them boast. She hated hiding the truth about her family, her past, and herself from her best friends. She hated having no one who understood her, the real her, the scared and angry her. She hated being alone and now he was putting her through it all over again. Damn him! Damn him to hell! Why couldn't her love be enough for him?! Why couldn't he just let go of all his pain and hate and see that there were some people in this world who needed him...who loved him? She had been worrying about him more than usual, ever since she heard about a group in Germany who were poking their nose where it didn't belong. She knew that a couple of stupid kids would be no problem, but rumor had it that these idiots were legit. What was worst was that it was confirmed that Julius was back. Julius was the only man that Nicole was truly scared of and whenever he showed his ugly face, things went to Hell. She was so scared she was tempted to confront her 'uncle' about it, but the prospect of facing him was scary. She didn't even know what she'd say to him. Hey 'uncle' stop being an idiot. Worst she might slip and call him Dad. God, she just needed someone she could talk to. Things would be so much easier if she could just share her fears with someone, anyone. She couldn't trust Becky, Cas, or Dayla. She knew they would never intentionally betray her, but all they had to do was accidently slip about anything she told them and her father...no 'uncle' was dead. Damn it. She didn't want to put more pressure on Morgan as she too was worried about 'Uncle' Eric and Andrew wasn't old enough to have any kind of conversation. She thought about talking to Bailey but she didn't want to lose her because her family life was so fucked up. She was so fucking alone and it scared her. She hated being alone. So what did Nicole do with all this pent up frustration and anger? Pull pranks of course. Today she had managed to jinx the common men's bathroom to spit up whatever went in whenever an unfortunate male used it. Unfortunately they automatically blamed her since everyone knew she was one of the main pranksters of the school. She thought it was rather unfair that she'd automatically be blamed for everything that went run with the school but that didn't matter as the males chased her all over school. Nicole skitted into the Great Hall and dove under the Gryffindor table. She peered from between the chairs and watched a couple of drench, smelly, and pissed seventh year Slytherins storm into the Great Hall. They confusedly looked around and threatened a couple of first year Hufflepuffians before grunting and ran out of the hall. Nicole let out a sigh of relief and laughed quietly to herself. Stupid morons. Then again what had she expected, they were from Slytherin after all. OOC: Sorry this is really crappy...and ranty. Rating: 9 PT Rated by: Leslie |

After reading and re-reading all the theory about non-verbal magic in her Charms book several times, as if to imprint all the basics onto the inside of her very skull, Tatiana picked up her wand next to it on the house table, ready to move onto the practical work. Examining the subject matter again had been unnecessary, however: she'd memorised this particular chapter almost front-to-back already and understood everything that should be necessary to master the art of casting spells without speaking the incantation. In the end, all it really came down to was concentration on the spell and making clear wand-movements. Sadly, this was reflexive behaviour for Tanya. Her habit of revising the theory countless times resulted from her lack of success whenever she tried to apply it - or maybe, deep down, she was actually trying to put off that moment, knowing how likely she was to fail yet again. In either case, she was certainly doing it now, staring intently at the wand in her hand rather than using it. Holly, 10,5 inches, with the heartstring of a Chinese Fireball at its core, she believed it was, if memory served. Tanya could almost hear the voice of the old wandmaker... She'd been told that it was a strong, if temperamental wand that might perform extraordinary magic one day, under the guidance of a willfull user. How much of that had been bogus, she now wondered. Tatiana also noted the smooth and relatively spotless surface; further evidence to its lack of use. And that was the crux of the problem, she supposed: Tanya wasn't any good at casting spells because she avoided doing it - and she avoided doing it because she wasn't any good at it. A vicious cycle. She sighed deeply before suddenly spinning the piece of wood gracefully in the palm of her hand, a certain spark in her eyes again. A vicious cycle it was, but one she was adamant to break. Deciding to start with something simple, Tatiana thought of the Levitation Charm. She bit her lip in concentration as she memorised the words, having difficulty resisting the urge to speak them out loud... It took her a few tries before she finally succeeded in making the empty goblet before her slowly make its way upwards. She then gradually tried to release control, making the goblet carefully descend, before casting the charm again before it touched the table. Most sixth-years could accomplish such tasks with little difficulty, but Tanya struggled, watching the goblet with a steady, unwavering gaze even her as her wrist twitched every once in a while, causing the object to nearly falter before she managed to catch up again. Continuing the exercise, Tanya tried to ban all her thoughts and worries of her father from her head, especially as she started levitating the textbook as well for added difficulty, attempting to keep both objects suspended in mid-air simultaneously. Her biggest fear was that someone would either start jeering at or cheering for her - either one was usually enough to make her screw up. But strangely, the students in the Great Hall appeared pre-occupied with something else this time... From the corner of her eye, Tatiana caught a bunch of angry Slytherins entering the room, looking like they had soiled themselves; suppressing a smile, she tried not to dwell on the matter. Just at that moment, she detected movement across from her as someone quickly hid him or herself under the table near her. Again, she tried to ignore it, even as the cup and book tilted and nearly dropped. But when Tatiana briefly glanced down and saw who was peering at the Slytherins from underneath her hiding place, she was so surprised she finally slipped up. The goblet hit the table with a clatter. The book fell open, landing right on top of Tatiana's head. Wincing, she lent down to look at Nicole with curious, warm brown eyes. "Nicole, what are you doing here?" Tatiana asked, her Charms book still resting on top of her short, black hair like a ridiculous hat. Oh, well. At least keeping them up as long as she did appeared to be a record for her. OOC: Don't worry about it, it's a good post! ^_^ And sorry it took so long. Rating: 9 pts Rated by: Sam |
