Remind Katia to never travel via Pepper the Phoenix never again. It was worse than apparating. Good grief. Her body was already worn out from all the fighting earlier and the traveling seemed to make things worse. Oh well. At least Riddle was finally dead. Katia couldnt complain about too much at the moment. Through a burst of flames, the Order appeared inside Hogwarts in the Hospital Wing. Most of the nurses in the room gasped as they all appeared. She wondered if they even knew they were coming. Who cares? All Katia wanted to do was collapse on a bed for two minutes. She spotted an empty bed across the wing and sat down heavily. She knew she didnt have the worst of the injuries so she made the hovering nurses go to someone else before treating her. Katia needed a moment to herself anyway. A moment to process everything before deciding what to do next. Oh god. This meant she could actually go to Moscow now without worrying about any of her parents' Death Eater friends. Man, if Daria and Sergei were still alive they would be devastated right now. Katia couldnt help but smile at the thought. She wondered how Alexei and Vladimir were going to react to this too. Perhaps they could become a real family now without anyone taking any sides. The first thing she would do at home was fix the fake house number on her front door. When she bought the house she'd placed a fake number on her door so that if any nosy Death Eaters were lurking they wouldnt realize that was her house. Not that she was expecting anyone to bother her but you never could be too careful these days. Katia laid back on the bed and sighed. Hopefully things would turn normal for a while. What was normal though? She honestly wasnt sure if she's ever known normal in her life. What did normal people do around here? Go to clubs and hang out? Katia didnt have many friends...other than the people in this room. However, she couldnt really see herself hanging out with any of them. All of them had a joint purpose in joining the Order but they were so different. Most of them were professors so that took up most of their time. She didnt see herself wanting to be around the Wraiths so eliminated them. She closed her eyes and realized that she lived a pretty lonely existence. A hobby was definitely in order here. But what could she do? Her thoughts were interrupted by a hand on her arm. Her eyes flew open to see a scared-looking nurse who was obviously there to begin treating her wounds. Katia gave the woman a grateful smile to help calm her fears about treating a vampire. |

Caedmon didn't know what the nurses must've thought when they suddenly saw a burst of flame and not one, but twelve individuals appeared right in the Hospital Wing, plus one Phoenix. Not to mention the fact that five of them were wanted Death Eaters, Wraiths even. For a moment, Caed just stood and looked at Lem with a smile. Now that the rush was gone, fatigue was setting in, at last... At least, for him: the others were undoubtedly feeling exhausted already. Ralem was a mess herself, although the blood on her hands was most likely Riddle's and not her own. He then glanced around at the rest. Some of them looked quite terrible... Manfred seemed to have a broken jaw; Caelestis had several deep wounds, some of them he might not have been able to bare had it not been for the Elixir of Life; Samantha and Mercury seemed to be covered in cuts and bruises and Katia had been burned (the Death Eaters she had fought had undoubtedly taken advantage of her weaknesses as a vampire). It seemed like the Wraiths and Xavier were the least wounded, although, in the case of the latter, that had been mostly thanks to Pepper's help. Xavier still seemed like he needed to rest and recover. After this little inventory, Caedmon directed his attention to himself, more for completion's sake rather than actually being worried: even the Wraiths had suffered more through the battle than he had. A mother of all headaches was approaching, but aside from a few scratches and a pain in his back, Caedmon felt fine. The matron glanced around as the other nurses immediately went to tend the Order-members. Some were still standing, but Caelestis positively crashed down onto the nearest bed: it seemed that escaping the Fortress of Shadows had robbed him of the last of his strength. The nurses immediately went to work; others were urging Samantha to lie down aswell, who stood, concerned, next to her father. After giving out instructions, the matron then turned to Caedmon (who she seemed to consider as the authority since he was Deputy Headmaster), with a look on her face as if an elephant had just walked into the Hospital Wing. "P-professor Darke... Could you please explain..?" She muttered, obviously trying hard to pretend that this sort of thing happened every day and she was asking a routine question. "Sorry, Ma'am, I know this is sudden and explaining it all would take too long. We've been in a battle with the Death Eaters... And we have some very good news. Could you please send someone to inform the Headmaster of our return quickly?" Caedmon added with a warm smile. "Well, yes, of course! I was about to do that myself!" She said curtly and business-like, although her eyes still jumped from Xavier, to the Eternal Sword and to Pepper from time to time. Caedmon turned to Ralem again. He would leave it up to her to send messages to the Ministry... Whether she wanted to do it before or after their talk with Flitwick was her decision. With the practical stuff out of the way, he moved closer to her. He stood there for a moment, trying to think of something to say... But what the hell did you say when you had just died, come back to life and escaped from a crumbling enemy stronghold? "A-are you alright, Lem?" Caedmon finally asked, going with the first thing that jumped to mind. It seemed that confidence that made him take charge of the group and kiss Ralem in front of everyone else had vanished again. |

With a flash of flames, the Order and the Wraiths appeared in the hospital wing, startling the nurses. Once the flames disappeared Pepper collapsed into Mercury's arms. She was worn out and tired. The trip must have taken a lot out of her-even though she hated to admit it-although it was probably more than that. She had done a lot tonight, a lot more than she was used to, and just because she was a phoenix didn't mean she didn't wear out. Damn she would probably have to go regenerate because of this mess, but with Riddle gone that wasn't much of a problem. She was sure Mercury could take care of himself while she was reborn. She would do that later, right now she needed to get up and look like a proper phoenix. She couldn't let the others see her like this, especially the Wraiths. She was a phoenix for crying out loud and phoenixes didn't allow themselves to get worn out like this. Where was her pride for crying out loud? She tried to get up, but Mercury placed a firm hand on her back. "It's all right, girl," he told her stroking her neck, "You can rest now it's over." She looked up at him and saw that he was smiling and it was obvious he was very proud of her. Good, at least she hadn't let him down. "You did good," he told her, "You did real good." Pepper gave him what looked like a smile, nestled into his arms, and gently rested her head in the crest of his elbow. She looked at the others and couldn't help but feel proud. She had done it. She had teleported them all, even the Wraiths. She probably would have jumped into the air and performed a little loop if she wasn't so tired. Oh thank God she hadn't lost any of them. She lazily watched as the vampire collapsed onto a bed and Caedmon dealt with the confused nurses and everyone else was taken care of. She knew Mercury would probably want to celebrate their victory at a party with a lot of alcohol, but maybe when this was over they could take a vacation of some sort and rest. She would like that. Fighting Death Eaters and saving the world was fun, but she was sure there was more to the world than that. There had to be. Why else would Mercury and his friends fight so hard for it? When Pepper collapsed, Mercury had been scared. He had worried that the strain had been too much or some lowlife Death Eater had jinxed her just as she teleported them. But thankfully she was all right. She was just a bit tired. Well Mercury couldn't blame her. She had done a lot tonight. He was just grateful that they both had survived the ordeal. He really was fond of this crazy bird. He looked at the others and gave them a warm, but gleeful grin. They had done it. They had finally killed Riddle. Thank God. He watched as the others were healed by the nurses. It seemed that only Cael had suffered anything life threatening. Everyone else seemed to be okay, even the new kid despite what appeared to be a broken jaw. That was probably because of the elixir...that or they really had improved as duelists. Either way, Mercury wasn't complaining. He heard Pepper give a little squeak and realized that a very timid nurse was trying to look at his wounds. The reason the nurse looked so scared was because Pepper was giving her a deadly glare. It was almost as if the phoenix was offended that the nurse was trying to do her job, like it was a comment on how Pepper's ability to heal her own master. Mercury just chuckled and told the nurse, "Look at the others I'm fine." It was true. Sure his face was a bit bruised from that asshole punching him and his back was still stinging from that strange monster that Death Eater had created, but other than that he was fine. Besides those wounds were easy to take care of-Pepper or no Pepper. Mercury looked at the others and realized for the first time since Riddle's death that he had no idea what to do now. What was the Order supposed to do after this? They had spent so much time focusing on defeating Riddle, they never bothered to plan what they would do once he was defeated. What were they going to do about the remaining Death Eaters? Who was going to be the new Minister of Magic? Would the Order even need to exist now that Riddle was dead? Mercury hoped so, even if it was for purely social reasons. A bond had been formed by everyone involved this long war, a bond that would be sad to break. He doubted anyone in this room would have voluntarily hung out with him if there wasn't a war going on and he doubted they would keep in touch once the Order was disbanded. Why should they? They were either professors or people whose definition of fun did not mean spending six hours in a bar with a bunch of rowdy friends. It was sad to think about it, but they were probably going to go their separate ways now as was to be expected. Ralem and Caedmon would most likely marry, have children, and happily spent the rest of their days teaching at Hogwarts, Cael would return to his wife and probably never wanted to save the world again, Samantha would have a wonderful career as an Auror, Xavier and his Wraiths would go back to being assholes, the new kid would continue doing whatever he did, and Katia would probably reunite with her family in Russia. And Mercury? He didn't really know. He'd just continue being the fool he supposed. There was nothing wrong with that. But it didn't matter, not really, because even if they did drift apart they would always have this victory and that meant a hell of a lot. |

Manfred had to admit that it had not been a pleasant surprise when he had a dead man dumped on him. It had been so unexpected he had nearly collapsed with the added weight, but somehow he managed to keep himself balanced. Then with a burst of flame they arrived at the hospital wing at Hogwarts. Woah, that was so cool! He would so get a phoenix just to do that again. But now Scrimgeour was really killing him. He had to dump the body somewhere and soon otherwise he was going to fall over. He trudged towards an empty bed and dumped Scrimgeour's body on it...or halfway on it anyway. Well at least his front part was on the bed. Manfred would hate having his brains splattered all over the floor. Manfred picked up the ex-minister's feet and flung towards on the bed as well. Okay so it wasn't the most dignified of positions but it would have to do. Oy, the guy should just be thankful they saved his body in the first place. That was the last time Manfred would play with dead bodies, thank you very much. He looked around and saw that, thankfully, everyone had made it out of the fortress, even the damn Wraiths. Still he supposed they deserved to be save considering they did help them out back there. He also noticed that although everyone had sustained some kind of injury (except Caedmon) Caelestis was the most grievously hurt. Well that made sense considering who he had been fighting. Manfred was glad the others were all right, especially Samantha. It seemed that the Death Eater had not given her too much trouble while Manfred had been laying on the ground. He had no idea if he had managed to finish off that Death Eater though and he probably would never know. Either that Death Eater was as flat as a pancake or he had escaped and gone into hiding. Manfred knew that now was the time to celebrate but it still irked him that the Death Eaters had gotten away. He knew there wasn't much they could have done at the time, but they would now have to waste time trying to track those assholes down. What would they do with them once they managed to track them down? Argh why think about that now? Now he should just relax and enjoy the victory. They could worry about that stuff tomorrow. But tonight was their night and they should enjoy it...before collapsing on the nearest bed available. He was half tempted to do a Katia and just commandeer a bed but decided against it. He would save the bed for someone who was severely injured. He was relieved when he saw the nurse. He had used a numbing spell to kill the pain, but he still wanted his jaw finished. It was no fun walking around with a broken jaw. A nurse approached him, took one lot at his jaw, and grinned. "Oh you are so lucky you're not a muggle," she said drawing her wand, "They actually wire their mouths shut until it's healed. Can you believe that?" Of course he had to get the talkative one, although it was strangely fascinating that muggles would actually wire their jaws together and wait for it to heal. Man muggles were really primitive sometimes. The nurse waved her wand and bingo, his jaw was as good as new. "Thank you," he said gratefully. "Anytime dearie," said the nurse before she went off to heal someone else. Well one thing was for sure, the nurses were nicer here than they were at Durmstrang. |

Lem had nearly stumbled to the ground once they appeared in the hospital room. The others were hurt, yes, but Lem was exhausted. She was ready to lay down on a bed and cry herself to sleep. Every bone in her body ached, every muscle made itself known to her, and her head was killing her. Apparently she had used up more energy that she had expected. She could barely stand anymore! She ignored everyone else and dropped the Eternal sword to the ground. She had grabbed it last minute before they had disappeared. Walking over to the nurse's sink, she turned the water on and let the blood drip off of her hands. It was a relief to know that she didn't have any major wounds. That one she had received on her left arm had been healed by the elixir. But Merlin, how her knees were buckling. She wasn't the same energy-filled teenager she had been long ago. She was aging, and it took this near death experience to realize it. Lem then proceeded to wash dirt from her face as she listened to Caed ask the nurse to bring Flitwick. Of course. They had to tell him to stop sweating and that Riddle had been destroyed, once and for all! But...Lem realized what she had to do. The ministry. She needed to notify the ministry! They needed to know! But who? Lem grabbed a piece of scrap paper off of the nurse's desk and started scribbling away. The nurses wee so busy taking care of everyone else, that Lem didn't have any problem with them. Finishing her note, she left the hospital wing for a minute to find someone to owl the letter. She grabbed a prefect patrolling the hall and handed it to him. "Owl this. Right now. It's urgent. I need you to be very sure it's properly done. Don't waste time. Go!" Lem urged the prefect. He simply said, "Yes Professor," and ran off to the owlry. Good boy. Walking back into the hospital wing, Lem realized the place was a disaster. There were so many wounded. And the wraiths, they were jsut standing there. Merlin! Couldn't they at least sit on their asses? Lem took a seat herself on a bed and tried to relax. Her hands were still shaking from the adrenaline, but she knew it would stop soon. And then they'd shake from exhaustion. A nurse came by to check on her, checking her pupils and vitality sign. Lem shooed her hands away. "Really, nurse, all I need right now is a potion. Please, just a potion. I'm going to be knocked unconcious soon enough. I may not be cut up, but I definitely am the most exhausted person in this room." The nurse eyed her wearily and then nodded, walking over to the potions cabinet. "A-are you alright, Lem?" Caed appeared by her side. Lem stood up and looked him over. "You know what? No, no I'm not ok. I mean, I understand we bloody just fought off Riddle and his goons, but honestly, you're an idiot! You got captured by Riddle, you managed to get hurt, killed. KILLED Caedmon! You were bloody killed! Do you know what you put me through?" The hospital wing became quiet, and Lem glared. "What are you looking at?" Lem asked incredulously. "It's not like any of you are any better! Bloody hell! Cael! You were nearly killed to! Five times or so! You were cut up and chewed up by Riddle. That's the last time you get to save the day all by yourself. And you, Xavier! What the hell? If it weren't for Banks and his bird you'd be in heaven, or hell, whichever would like you best. Damnit! Why does it seem like it was just Sam, katia, and I that had managed to stay in tact? So, no, i'm not alright! What is it with you men???" Lem closed her mouth and looked over at the nurse that was standing by her cautiously. Lem ripped the potion out of her hands and drank it in one standing. She gave the bottle back to the nurse and turned back to the Order. "We're all lucky. We're very very lucky. And we'll be lucky if we go to sleep today and wake up within a week." Lem plopped herself back down on the bed and sighed, trying to allow the potion to take effect. But she still felt eyes on her. When was Flitwick going to get here? |

Cael felt his knee buckle when they appeared in the Hospital Wing and it was only thanks to Sam that he didn't fall down immediately. Damn, that thing hurt... He wouldn't be surprised if it would bother him for years to come: the Infernal Sword had been no ordinary weapon. However, despite the pain, he was smiling. They were home, they were safe... He couldn't wait to see Issy, Alan, Becca and the triplets. The Order had killed Riddle and none of them had died. Well, except Scrimgeour... Cael felt some sadness as he watched Manfred place his body on a bed. It was a good thing that Mercury had thought to bring it along. Despite all his flaws, Scrimgeour had sacrificed himself to save Cael's life and he deserved a proper burial rather than being crushed into dust under thousands of tons of rock. Samantha then helped him get to a bed; Caelestis pretty much crashed onto it. It looked like his fatigue had finally caught up with him - he was exhausted, not just physically, but also because of all the magic he'd tossed around tonight. Before he knew it, many of the nurses removed his wet, torn and dirty red coat and checked out his wounds. Sam was still standing beside him, concerned. "I'll be fine. You need to rest too, Sam," Cael told his daughter in a feeble voice. He was surprised at how weak he sounded. He then shifted slightly and let the nurses do their work. Staring up at the ceiling with his emerald eyes, Cael felt like he could sleep for a year. It didn't look like that was going to happen any time soon, however, for a loud voice was suddenly heard around the Hospital Wing. "You know what? No, no I'm not ok. I mean, I understand we bloody just fought off Riddle and his goons, but honestly, you're an idiot! You got captured by Riddle, you managed to get hurt, killed. KILLED Caedmon! You were bloody killed! Do you know what you put me through? What are you looking at? It's not like any of you are any better! What is it with you men??? We're all lucky. We're very very lucky. And we'll be lucky if we go to sleep today and wake up within a week." Caelestis listened as Ralem ranted with an impassive face. Once she was finally done, only a small smile formed on his face. He didn't have the strength to speak up, disagree or explain himself, nor did he feel the need to. Although he had to concede that she had a point... Caedmon returning had been stupid in the extreme, although it turned out he had saved the day because of it; Cael was certain there had to be some reason behind it, seeing as Caedmon would never have done something like that so rashly. What surprised him somewhat, however, was Lem's reaction to Xavier - it was true that he'd put himself in incredible danger by trying to hold off Riddle by himself. He would have died had it not been for Pepper and ever since he told the Order about Voldemort's plans, he'd helped out a lot. But what Cael hadn't expected was for Ralem of all people to be so concerned about Xavier's well-being. And finally, Cael had to admit that he had acted too risky tonight. Lem's reaction was nothing compared to what Issy would do to him if she found out that he had let himself get hit by two Killing Curses in an attempt to kill Voldemort. True, Cael had been kinda certain that the Elixir of Life was still keeping him safe at the time, but still... More importantly, Caelestis never wanted to repeat the experience. This fight had been hell. The past three years had been hell. Only now was he truly feeling the pain from all his wounds. Even if the Order was forced to battle again, Cael was going to have to change his ways somewhat. No... This might have been the last time he'd gone off to 'save the day', as Lem put it. From now on, he was just going to be a Duelling Teacher and that was it. He felt the same way now as when he had when he'd quit his job as an Auror. It was just too dangerous. "Don't worry, Lem... It won't happen again. I promise..." Caelestis said, his voice fading. He leant back, feeling weaker. The last sight he had was of Xavier and Sam, looking concerned, and the door opening, just as he passed out... |

"I'll be fine. You need to rest too, Sam." Samantha tried to smile at her father, but still remained concerned. Would he really be okay? Was the Elixir still healing his wounds? Or did it stop working and he was in serious risk of dying from all the curses that Riddle had managed to hit him with? Nonetheless, she finally allowed the nurses to lead her to a bed and examine her. Sam just let them deal with it, following every instruction, but not really thinking much about her own wounds. Instead, she glanced out of the nearest window. Slowly, the sun was coming... Soon, the light of a new day would be here. Sam felt some excitement at the prospect. Voldemort's age was done. How many Death Eaters had died during the battle? And how many had been unable to escape the fortress when it collapsed? Considering how fast the building had crumbled and how many people the Order had managed to incapacitate, Samantha didn't think there were many survivors... And Riddle was gone. Gone for good. The Death Eaters would never be able to recover from that blow. So what was going to happen? In this new age? When Sam thought about it, the entire previous century and the start off the current one had been torn by conflict for the wizarding world. Grindlewald, Voldemort, Varius and now Voldemort again... The Death Eaters would probably be gone (if not soon, then eventually), but what would come after? Would it really all be over and could they live in peace? Would the Dark Order recover and take up some new form, under new leadership, like with Varius? Perhaps powerful crime-groups like the Syndicate and Vitiosis would become a greater threat. Or would other enemies and other problems ravage the wizarding world? Sam only knew one thing: the magical world had to be protected. Even if they had a measure of peace for the time being, it was naïve to assume that everything was going to be perfect now. The world didn't work like that. If it did, then they would be living in Paradise. And Sam would be doing her part in keeping this place safe. The past three years had gone quickly, although in some ways, it seemed like an eternity. In only a few months, Sam would start her Auror training... But at the very least, Samantha was glad they had cleared the way for a brighter future - and she was proud to have been a part of it. Suddenly, she was shaken from these musings, when Lem started shouting. Sam couldn't help but be annoyed. What the hell was wrong with that woman? But after she finished and her father spoke in return, he passed out! Sam sat up again and looked over concerned, but was distracted by a door opening. In the doorway stood the tiny Headmaster, Professor Filius Flitwick, followed by the matron. The past few hours had not done Flitwick well: he looked tired, tense and very confused at the sight of the Order; he let out a high-pitched yelp of surprise when he spotted Xavier and the Wraiths, but kept his cool when he noticed that they weren't doing anything. It was obvious that he had coordinated the guarding of Hogwarts throughout the night. The Headmaster looked from Lem to Caedmon. "What's going on?" He squeaked. "How did you all get back so suddenly? And what are they doing here?" He indicated Xavier and the Wraiths. "More importantly... What's going on?" |

Xavier wasn't certain what to do. Some of the nurses reacted with particularly surprise, fear even, when they saw him and the Wraiths. It was understandable, of course... Their faces had been on wanted-posters throughout this war and the previous. Some might even have lost family at their hands. Nonetheless, a couple did approach to help, their duty to help undeterred by his former allegiance. Did Healers take a Hippocratic Oath? Xavier wasn't sure... Whatever the case, he sat down on a bed and let them do their job. Initially hesitant, the Wraiths followed his example. Many of his minor injuries were soon healed, but the remains of the curse that hit his chest seemed unable to be cured swiftly. Not even the tears of Banks's Phoenix had completely healed it. Xavier soon grew tired of the nurses fussing over him and eventually stood up again, resisting their help. They'd done enough. He was tired, but he'd rest later. First, he had to deal with his comrades. He and the Wraiths convened in a corner. Angerona, Elam and Damocles asked plenty of questions, while Medea mostly remained silent. Unfortunately, Xavier had no clear answers... He wasn't certain of what was going to happen. Could they be put in Azkaban? It was definitely a possibility. The Order might not want it to happen, but the Ministry would clamour for it. Or would the Wraiths be forgiven for their crimes? It had happened to Death Eaters that switched sides before... But, if it did, would that mean they'd actually be normal citizens again? Strangely, that was something Xavier found a lot stranger to comprehend than incarceration. After living as a criminal for so long, it was hard for Xavier to even imagine a normal life. Although they'd most likely return to their 'regular' ways again immediately; even if he wasn't a Death Eater anymore, Xavier was still the leader of the Syndicate and the Wraiths all had an influential position there. Ralem's words interrupted the hushed conversation of the Wraiths. Xavier turned and listened to her rant away, slightly annoyed. At the mention of him, he merely scoffed and folded his arms, leaning against the nearest wall. For Chrissake, it wasn't like he had intended Riddle to blast a hole in him... It was just bad luck, that was all. And he made it, so what did it matter to Lem, anyway? By the time she finished though, Medea gave Xavier a knowing grin... Knowing what she was implying, Xavier rolled his eyes and looked away. Oh, come on... That woman was like a schoolgirl sometimes, seriously. "Don't worry, Lem... It won't happen again. I promise..." "What's going on? How did you all get back so suddenly? And what are they doing here? More importantly... What's going on?" But then Caelestis passed out and Xavier moved forward, slightly worried. Before the nurses assured him and Sam that Cael was alright, Flitwick entered the room. Xavier was annoyed again when the Headmaster asked about him, although he should've seen it coming. He leant against the wall once more and remained silent. Let the others do the talking... |

The nurse applied a healing potion under Katia's eyes to help with the burns she sustained no thanks some random Death Eater who was hopefully dead. She must have some kind of sign written on her forehead that said she was a vampire. She liked to think she wasnt like other vampires. She didnt feed on humans (although she loved the taste of their blood) nor did she go galivanting around like some crazy person in the night. Plus, she's come up with ways of being around during the daylight. No thanks to her friend Ilia and one of his many geniuses. The glare spell he taught had been a lifesaver tonight. Otherwise Katia would be a pile of dust right now. Once the nurse was finished applying the potion to the burns on her arms, she excused herself. Before she left, Katia caught a wiff of her blood. O positive. Not her favorite but she was starving! However she wasnt about to ask for some blood in front of other Order members. The nurse returned with a medium sized cup in her shaking hand. Instantly, Katia could smell her early morning breakfast. She gave the nurse another grateful smile as she took the cup and brought it to her lips. The nurse cleared her throat and Katia was surprised to see a straw held out to her. Obviously, she didnt want Katia to be embarrassed. The straw was some kind of swirly contraption that first years would enjoy drinking out of. Whatever. She wasnt going to be picky. She glanced around to see what everyone was doing. Go figure Cael was passed out on a bed with a worried looking Sam and Xavier nearby. Hopefully he learned his lesson today. Never rely only on yourself during a battle when you had a whole group of people more than willing to help. Caedmon and Ralem seemed to be talking amongst themselves. The Wraiths looked a bit unsure about what to do and the nurses didnt seem to be too sure about treating them. Manfred was getting his broken jaw fixed. Bless his heart. She hoped this whole experience hasnt scarred him for life. Mercury was tending to his bird. She had to hand it to him. He really came through for them today. What is it with you men??? We're all lucky. We're very very lucky. And we'll be lucky if we go to sleep today and wake up within a week." The whole room got quiet at Ralem's outburst. Katia hid a smile behind her cup. She knew the stress of everything was probably getting to the other woman but she was being a bit too dramatic. Good Lord, she just killed Voldemort! The least she could do was give everyone a smile. She felt a bit better to get some recognition but Ralem was wrong about it being only the three of them managing to stay intact. They were all alive! That's what mattered here. The woman just needed to calm down and give herself time to process everything. She should feel alot better in the morning. "What's going on? How did you all get back so suddenly? And what are they doing here? More importantly... What's going on?" Katia looked at Flitwick. "Relax little man. Riddle is dead. Xavier and the other Wraiths here helped us tonight so you dont need to bother throwing them out." She took another sip of her breakfast and gave the Wraith standing near Xavier a tentative smile. It was true. They were instrumental in helping them out tonight. Of course Katia knew they were simply loyal to Xavier and helped them because he was on the Order's side now. Who knew how long he was going to there though. For now, they could live in harmony. Hopefully. |

Bloody hell! Cael! You were nearly killed to! So, no, i'm not alright! What is it with you men??? We're all lucky. We're very very lucky. And we'll be lucky if we go to sleep today and wake up within a week." Wow. Someone was still stressed out. Caedmon took in every word as Ralem ranted away and quite honestly, there were a few moments that he wanted to back away somewhat. Call him a coward. Nonetheless, he stood there and took it, eventhough Lem's accusations in his case were kind of unfair. It had not been his fault that he'd returned to the Fortress of Shadows; he wouldn't even have been able to get back. Wasn't anyone wondering how he did it? And why? The more time passed, the more frustrated Caedmon became. Did Ralem actually think he was stupid enough to go back after everything the Order had done to try and save him. It was true that that had been his first reaction, but he wasn't an idiot. He never wanted any of this. It was all Mircea's fault, though the fact that his risky maneouvre was partly responsible for Riddle's demise absolved him of that particular crime just a little bit. However, Caed wouldn't deny that Lem must've suffered quite a bit. He knew what it must've looked like when Mircea returned to the fortress, controlling his body and getting blasted by Voldemort. If the roles had been reserved, Caedmon knew he would have been devestated and it would be him chewing out Ralem right now. For that, he was honestly sorry; he never would have wanted to make her feel like that... But it seemed he wasn't even going to get the chance to tell Lem that. After she was through with him, she turned to Caelestis and then Xavier, going as far as to say that only the women were alright and the men in the Order were all pretty much suicidal morons. Which Caedmon thought was distinctly unfair, as Mercury was still in a pretty good shape. Still, when Lem finally finished, Caed knew he wasn't going to let it bother him. In fact, there was a small, sympathetic smile on his handsome face. More than ever, he realised that Lem had gone through a lot. She'd shouldered the responsibility for the most part, not to mention how hard she and Cael must have fought against Voldemort. Anyone would be stressed out, now that it was finally over and they had so many close calls. For a second, Caedmon looked concerned when Caelestis passed out, but it seemed it was only through fatigue, so he turned back to Ralem. "You're right. I'm sorry for making you worry," he said softly and put a hand on her shoulder. "In my defense, going back there wasn't my choice. But I'll explain all that later," he added and looked up as Professor Flitwick entered the Hospital Wing. The old, tiny Headmaster looked tired and worried. Well, at least they had some news to cheer him up. "Relax little man. Riddle is dead. Xavier and the other Wraiths here helped us tonight so you dont need to bother throwing them out." Caedmon smiled at Katia and explained further. Flitwick seemed unable to believe what he was hearing. "Yes, Professor, Voldemort's dead." Flitwick and some of the nurses seemed to pale some more when Caedmon mentioned Riddle's chosen name. But he was going to stomp out that nonsense immediately. "There's no need to be scared of saying his name anymore. Voldemort is gone and he'll never come back. With the help from Xavier and the Wraiths, the Order was able to rescue me. Together, they defeated Voldemort and Ralem was the one who delivered the final blow." He looked around the group he had shared so much danger with, prouder than ever. At some points, Caed had wondered whether it was all worth fighting for. After they had gone through the Ancient's Tomb and it's countless trials only to find the Eternal Sword gone, Caedmon had been crushed by disappointment, having led the Order and put them in so much danger for nothing. When Mad-Eye had died in his duel against Voldemort, there had been a few moments where he'd felt like giving up. But he'd kept going - and it had finally paid off. All their suffering had been more than worth it. |

Mercury, not wanting to take up any beds because someone far more seriously injured would need it, sat down on one of the guest chairs and watched as everyone was treated. Thank God they hadn't lost anyone besides Scrimgeour. That was kind of sad. Believe it or not he was going to miss that old grouch hobbling around the Ministry, barking orders, being an ass, and offending just about everyone. Mercury wondered how Scrimgeour would be remembered. Would he be remembered as a traitor who redeemed himself or was he going to be remembered as the pricky member who deserves more credit than he gets? Did it matter? By the time this battle made its way into the history books everyone in this room would either be senile or dead. Besides the world could remember Scrimgeour anyway it wanted. All that mattered was that Riddle was dead. It was strange to think that someday his name would come up in a history class, well his name and Pepper's. All right that was just wrong. Anyone else being mentioned made sense (even Xavier's) but his name? You've got to be joking. In reality his name would probably never be mentioned. He hadn't done much. He just stood around, dodged a few spells, and then make a few jokes. Everyone else had done the hard work. Hell even Pepper had done more than he did. He knew some people would say that he pulled through for the Order today because Pepper was his pet, but he knew the truth. Pepper was the reason this thing had been such a success. Without her Caedmon would never have been saved (even though that twit came back), Xavier would never have been healed, Ralem would never have been able to get the sword, and they would never have been able to escape the fortress. Yeah, Pepper would go down in history but not Mercury. What is it with you men??? We're all lucky. We're very very lucky. And we'll be lucky if we go to sleep today and wake up within a week." He was rudely awoken from his muse by Ralem's loud and long rant. Ah, this little tirade made him think back to the day when he had been an Auror and he had done something stupid. She used to always yell at him. He had missed it actually although he had to admit yelling at other people was fun too. The only one who didn't seem to enjoy it was Pepper. She gave Ralem an annoyed glare and seemed really tempted to threw something at her if it would make Ralem shout up. Mercury just stroked her neck in an attempt to calm her down. Now Mercury agreed with Ralem on a few points (like Caedmon being a complete jackass for returning and getting killed) but at the same time come on. Did they really need this now? Couldn't she have waited until after they had been given a chance to rest? Besides it wouldn't be a real battle unless Cael nearly got himself killed a half a dozen times and who gave a shit about Xavier? Riddle would have been doing them a favor by killing the fucker. He was also slightly annoyed when she basically said that only the females came back intact. What the hell was he? Chopped liver? But he didn't say anything. He did not need her coming after his ass. "You're right. I'm sorry for making you worry, In my defense, going back there wasn't my choice. But I'll explain all that later," Mercury raised his eyebrow at Caedon. Okay what the fuck? What did he mean it wasn't his choice? What did someone momentarily take over his body and apparate him to the fortress? Don't be ridiculous. That was just insane. He was about to ask Caedmon to expand on that thought when two things happened. First Cael collapsed onto the bed. Mercury was about to jump up with concern but it seemed that he had just been too exhausted...or he was faking it in a vain attempt to shut Ralem up. Mercury was kind of leaning towards the second reason (because that was something he would have done), but knowing Cael that probably wasn't likely. The second thing that happened was that Flitwick finally showed up and man did he look confused. "Relax little man. Riddle is dead. Xavier and the other Wraiths here helped us tonight so you dont need to bother throwing them out." "Yes, Professor, Voldemort's dead. There's no need to be scared of saying his name anymore. Voldemort is gone and he'll never come back. With the help from Xavier and the Wraiths, the Order was able to rescue me. Together, they defeated Voldemort and Ralem was the one who delivered the final blow." He smiled at Katia's blunt way of explaining what happened. He was going to miss that when they finally disbanded. Then Caedmon expanded on Katia's thought. Okay so now it was okay to say Voldemort's name? It would be helpful if they just made up their minds because now he was so used to calling him Riddle. He suppose it didn't really matter. They could probably call Voldemort Bob if they wanted to...although that would make an confusing conversation. Like what if he was talking to someone and he said 'Well aren't you happy Bob's dead' and that person started to cry because they had a brother named Bob? Talk about awkward. Yes, this was how his mind worked. Caedmon's recap sounded about right except for Scrimgeour being dead. But he was sure Flitwick would be able to figure that out when he saw the body. Oh, yeah where was that thing? He looked around and saw that the new kid had placed the body on a bed. Ah, good boy. Well they had found at least one thing he was good at all, taking care of dead bodies. Kind of a weird talent if one thought about it. Then again the last few years had been weird, so nothing really fazed him anymore. After a while one learned to just go with the flow. |

After having his jaw healed, Manfred walked towards a corner and leant his back against it, until he slid down and sat on the floor. Now that the battle was over, he was tired. He knew he hadn't been in the worst of the battle, but he had used a lot of energy and magic tonight (more than he was used to) and he felt drained. Still it had been worth it. He was pretty sure he had proved that he deserved a place in the Order and he had helped kill Riddle. No one could take that away from him. As he looked around the room, he realized that he had fight side by side with a group of very talented and brave people. Cael was easily the most skilled duelist and the bravest man in the room, Ralem was the best leader, Caedmon (decide his brief moment of stupidity) was the one with the most knowledge, Samantha was probably their most dedicated member, Katia was their fiestiest member, and even the man and his phoenix had been good for something. Manfred, against his will, had to give credit to Xavier and his Wraiths. That fight would have been a hell of a lot harder without them. Yes, Manfred was a hundred percent sure that there weren't a group of more talented people in the world. God, he had been given a great honor today and he didn't even realize it. He gave Katia a grin when he caught her watching him. She was a good woman and probably the most sensible of the group (that used to be Caedmon but then he pulled a dumbass stunt back at the fortress) and he wanted to let her know that he wasn't scared. In fact tonight only made him more determined to continue the fight. He knew Riddle was dead, but they had a lot of cleaning up to do and there was no guarantee that this was the end. Who knew what the future had in store. The only thing Manfred knew for sure was that they had to be ready, always ready, for the worst. If they were prepared maybe the next fight wouldn't get this far. One thing was for certain, if this group disbanded he would still keep up the good fight. He wasn't going to simply sit back and watch the world go down the drain again, not after all their hardwork and sacrifice. He watched as Cael was brought to a bed. Poor man. He looked wiped. Manfred hoped he would be okay. The man deserved a nice vacation. They all did. Maybe he could convince Aspen to go away somewhere...kind of like a romantic get away, except most of their time would most likely be spent in the bedroom. Manfred didn't mind as long as Aspen gave him some time to sleep first. He grinned slightly at the thought. Aspen was never going to believe him even if he tried and explain this night to him. Manfred couldn't quite believe it himself. If truth be told, tonight was like one great blur. Maybe it would make more sense one he got a good nights sleep. Or maybe it would never make sense and the only thing he would ever get out of it was that Riddle had been defeated. Maybe that was all he ever needed to get out of it. Maybe that was all that mattered, all that would ever matter. Bloody hell! Cael! You were nearly killed to! Five times or so! You were cut up and chewed up by Riddle. Why does it seem like it was just Sam, katia, and I that had managed to stay in tact? So, no, i'm not alright! What is it with you men??? We're all lucky. We're very very lucky. And we'll be lucky if we go to sleep today and wake up within a week." He looked up surprised when Ralem started ranting and frowned. Manfred could understand that she had been under a lot of pressure and it was only now she could finally let it out, but come on. Did they need this now? Manfred, however, bit his tongue and let the woman rant. Apparently she really needed to get this out and she had a few good points. It was stupid for Caedmon to return and yet something told Manfred that there was more behind his sudden appearance than met the eye. He liked the professor, but it was obvious he wasn't a duelist or that powerful of a wizard and Manfred clearly remembered Xavier telling them that no one could apparate in the court. So how did Caedmon manage to apparate back and how had he managed to come back to life. That was what was really bothering Manfred. How? He raised an eyebrow slightly when she mentioned Xavier. Personally, he didn't see his death as a great lost, but that was just him. He frowned slightly. Hey, don't pull that female card here. Not every male in this room had been suicidal. God women. Manfred just rolled his eyes but remained silent. He really didn't feel like getting into an argument with Ralem, not after Riddle's death. "You're right. I'm sorry for making you worry, In my defense, going back there wasn't my choice. But I'll explain all that later," He looked at the professor confused. What did he mean by that? Manfred was slightly frustrated when Caedmon said he'd explain it later. Manfred wanted to know now. He was sure there had to be a perfectly logical explanation behind it all and Manfred was practically vibrating to learn what it was. But he was even more eager to hear about Caedmon's miraculous revival. It seemed he would have to wait because that was the moment Cael decided to faint and Flitwick entered the room. The poor headmaster looked like he hadn't slept all night. He probably hadn't. Manfred didn't know much about the headmaster but he seemed like a nice little fellow. This whole school seemed a lot nicer than Durmstrang and he almost regretted not having a chance to attend here. Maybe when this little get together was over he would get permission to wander the halls, that was if he could find the energy to get up let alone walk. Together, they defeated Voldemort and Ralem was the one who delivered the final blow." He listened to Katia's and Caedmon's explanations. Well that was definitely the bare minimum of what happened tonight but maybe that was all the headmaster needed to know. They didn't want to overwhelm the little guy with too much information, especially since he seemed ready to snap. He looked almost as bad as Banshee Tarendeau over there. Somehow Manfred doubted the headmaster was going to start screaming at them for being stupid, although he could be wrong. Still he saw no need to add anymore to their description of tonight's events. If Flitwick wanted to know more he would ask. |

"Don't worry, Lem... It won't happen again. I promise..." "Yeah, right, like I'm going to believe you." Lem replied with a tired smile. She knew Cael was always going to be in danger. It was just the way Cael lived. But then he fell unconcious. He was probably so drained, and the pain had gotten a hold of him. Good. He deserved some sleep. And some relaxation. Lem dropped her head in her hands with exhaustion. Right. Basically yelling like that had killed her want to do more. That, and she felt kind of ashamed. She didn't know what had come over her. It was like she had been possessed to yell at the Order like that. Oh merlin, she was so screwed. Everyone probably hated her now. "You're right. I'm sorry for making you worry, In my defense, going back there wasn't my choice. But I'll explain all that later," Lem looked up from her hands and watched Caed's sorry face. She was going to say something, but she didn't know what. Really? He was sorry for making her worry? More like die of the pain of losing him. Merlin! Was he really that blind? They loved eachother. Him dying was terrible. But then, the second part of his sentence registered. "What?" was all Lem could say. "What's going on? How did you all get back so suddenly? And what are they doing here? More importantly... What's going on?" "Relax little man. Riddle is dead. Xavier and the other Wraiths here helped us tonight so you dont need to bother throwing them out." Yes, Professor, Voldemort's dead. There's no need to be scared of saying his name anymore. Voldemort is gone and he'll never come back. With the help from Xavier and the Wraiths, the Order was able to rescue me. Together, they defeated Voldemort and Ralem was the one who delivered the final blow." Lem watched Flitwick's surprised expression. Poor old man. he ahd probably been sitting all night, hoping that nothing attacked Hogwarts. And that his students would be safe. But had he really expected Riddle's death? Probably not. Probably never. But there, he was finally finally dead. "Yes, well, it was all of us that really killed Voldemort. We wouldn't have been able to do it separately. It's the one thing Voldemort didn't expect: teamwork." Just then, a middle aged man appeared at the door in a worn looking cloak. He obviously was an auror. He looked around, amazed, and pulled out his wand once he noticed Xavier and the Wraiths. Lem jumped up and held out a hand. "Jenkins! Don't! They're safe here. They've helped us." The man looked suspicious, "Are you kidding me Ralem? Xavier is a wanted Death Eater! Since I have him right here-" "You won't even be able to take him out of this room alive. Face it. Besides, he's a Death Eater no more. Now, settle down. I asked you to come because we have very important news for you. Good and bad actually." Lem indicated the rest of the Order. "Everyone, this is Gabe Jenkins. He became the Head of Aurors after I left." Jenkins remained silent. "We were just telling the Headmaster here, that we have just come back from Voldemort's fortress. Which, is by the way, fortress no more but a pile of rubble." Jenkins stood there, shocked. "Anyway, that's not the most important part. We killed Voldemort tonight. Dead as dead. He's gone, and the world is better for it." Jenkins still stood there, speechless. Lem didn't want to bring on the other news though. It was hard, and it would make it hard for him to understand. Too much background. She waited, as Jenkins sat down. Lem turned to Flitwick. "Headmaster, everything is alright. Trust us. Your students are fine and Hogwarts is safe. We can celebrate now. Not live our lives filled with worry and fear." Lem looked around and motioned to Jenkins. "Of course, it'll take a while for people to believe us. They'll be reluctant. But they'll eventually learn." Lem prayed that the wraiths standing in front of the Minister's bed wouldn't move. They needed a sane Jenkins to go and tell the Ministry that their leader was dead. And that everything needed to start all over again. |

Together, they defeated Voldemort and Ralem was the one who delivered the final blow." "Yes, well, it was all of us that really killed Voldemort. We wouldn't have been able to do it separately. It's the one thing Voldemort didn't expect: teamwork." Trusting that her father was alright, Samantha turned her attention to Professor Flitwick and the Order. Man, the Headmaster must have been worried... For all he knew, an attack could've come any moment throughout the night and he couldn't have turned to the Ministry for help, since it was compromised because of Scrimgeour. Still, Sam couldn't help but smile when Katia explained what had happened. That was a nice way to put it. Sam gave her a grin. There had been moments when she had doubted Katia, but she was as vital a part of the Order as anyone else. Both Caedmon and Lem brought up some important points too. Samantha had almost forgotten that there was no risk in saying Voldemort's name now, although she wondered how long it would take for the general population to be comfortable with that. And Sam was glad Lem was being humble about being the one to finish off the 'Dark Lord'. It would've been annoying if she'd been boasting about it, although Sam hadn't expected her to. Samantha looked at Flitwick, who looked like he had been slapped in the face. He stared at Ralem and Caedmon for a moment, as if he was wondering whether they were all a mirage or not, then a broad smile formed on his wrinkled face. His eyes watered with emotion. A couple nurses cheered and others embraced each other and the matron, like Flitwick, burst into tears. "Splendid! Wonderful! I knew Alastor's faith in you was not misplaced," Flitwick said and wiped his eyes with a handkerchief. "Oh, dear, after all this time... If You-Know-Who or, well... He is truly gone, then... I don't know what to say. No one can thank you enough." Samantha shifted, feeling a little embarassed all of a sudden... Honestly, it wasn't that big of a deal... Well, they did have one of their members kidnapped, went to the headquarters of the most terrible and powerful wizard of the age, fought him and countless of his servants and stuck a sword in his chest that they've gone through countless dangers in order to get... Luckily, this happy news was interrupted by the arrival of someone else. Sam was surprised at the guy that entered the Hospital Wing. She didn't know, but she thought she'd seen him somewhere before... Sam followed the exchange with interest, although she nearly made a move when the guy pulled out his wand at the sight of Xavier and the Wraiths. Her reaction surprised even Sam herself; she still didn't like Xavier, but she supposed it wouldn't be fair if they arrested him now after he nearly died trying to help them defeat Voldemort. When Lem told them that this guy, Gabe Jenkins, was the new Head of Aurors, Samantha realised where she might have seen him before. Hadn't he helped guard Hogsmeade and Hogwarts back when Varius was in control? She wasn't sure... Sam finally realised what this was about. The Ministry of Magic had to be informed about Voldemort's death aswell. And about someone else's too... Sam glanced at Scrimgeour's body, but immediately wished she hadn't. Professor Flitwick followed her gaze and now spotted him aswell. The already tiny Headmaster seemed to grow even smaller. "And the bad news is that... Rufus Scrimgeour didn't make it out of the battle alive? But I don't understand... Was he informed about this situation, or..." Flitwick's voice trailed off. Sam saw that the penny had dropped. They'd already told Flitwick the Ministry was compromised: he must assume that he was in the fortress on Voldemort's orders, although he didn't know the whole story. Sam wondered how everyone would react once they did. |
