Bailey knew that little about Nicole’s family but more than enough by the silences that Nicole gave her when she asked her about her family that her family life was not like the blondes, that she didn’t have the traditional nuclear family with the parents and siblings but she wasn’t about to push about the way behind it. But Nicole didn’t know about bailey’s outing herself on Boxing Day, the same day that her twin outed himself. That while they acted happy and close when the Quidditch season kicked in their mum went off the radar for training and matches putting pressure on their father to fill in, that most of the time he worked and ended up leaving Eira and Ianto the two youngest siblings with family friends when he couldn’t make it home which was almost all the time. That Carys didn’t really have much of a relationship with their parents since she moved to Hogwarts and had on many occasions claimed she was an orphan because she felt that being the middle child isolated her. That Eira was always taking leafs out of Bailey’s book with her independence even though she was only nine and she’d taken it to such extremes that she nearly went for the strongest firewhiskey in the house because she knew it was what Bailey would do. If Aspen hadn’t been there they would have come home and found a drunk nine year old in the bathroom throwing up. So Bailey tried to be a better influence but even that didn’t seem to change Eira’s opinion of her....she was acting up more and more as the years went by. That when Ianto was younger he’d pleaded for their mother to come home and would only settled if she appeared in the middle of night, he was older now but more a mum’s boy than ever...Bailey hated to think what he’d be like at Hogwarts. Of course no-one outside the six family members knew all of this, it was an unwritten rule not to reveal it to anyone but maybe if Nicole knew she wouldn’t feel like her girlfriend’s family was as perfect as she assumed. Hell even Bailey’s friends families were a mess, a string of abusive alcoholic fathers, drug addicted whore mothers and several siblings being put into foster care. Bailey seemed to find those people with family issues subconsciously and understood if they didn’t want to share their issues, even if Nicole came to her with something about her family she wasn’t about to judge her for it. She would understand, even tell her girlfriend the truth if she had to....but the point was while she appeared like she had it all on the surface, Bailey’s family was just as broken as the next one. If not worse now with Aspen’s boyfriend related issues.

Aspen’s condition at the moment plagued Bailey every moment of every day, since finding him trying to boil himself alive in the bathtub she could think of little else. Even knowing that his lowlife boyfriend was behind it had only made things worse instead of better. She wanted to do something, shove him to a healer, lock him up in St Mungo’s something but time after time Aspen would beg her not to. That he was getting better, just needed some more time, but she knew it was a load of bull. Aspen was getting worse even Ceri could see it but neither she nor her brother’s best friend wanted to press something on him that he would only resent them for. But she didn’t know what to do or who else to turn to. She had told Nicole whenever they were around each other how bad he was getting, not exactly demanding answers and help but not shying away from the option either. Only Bailey didn’t know what experience Nicole had on the situation and wasn’t going to push for her to make any rash decisions to find out what she could through her family. As ever bailey would just have to put her strong face on, continue to pour all the alcohol in the house down the sink and search Aspen’s room for knives when he was sleeping. There was nothing else she could do.

But of one thing Bailey was certain about Nicole she wanted a life with her, not the life she had experienced her parents living or the life she saw Aspen living with his many user boyfriends. A proper life, one with a town house, a country cottage with a white picket fence where her cats could run wild, with gold wedding bands on ring fingers and children running around whether adopted or born from one or the other of the two. Bailey wanted that, all of it. She would do whatever it took to make Nicole happy and keep her in her life, she wanted to have what everyone else thought was normal...but with the brunette who she wouldn’t allow to leave her bed until she said yes. She wanted to be a proper family....in an age where two mums or dads was the norm and that all their children would know was that their mothers loved them and only wanted the best for them whether they were straight bi or gay, or pureblood, half blood, squib or muggle.

"I don't get it, How does a guy like that get a girl like Sari?"

“Again all I’ve heard is rumour. The oldest guy at the London branch says they met at Drumstrang in his last year, clicked and nothing seemed to part them until now. Something must have changed the pattern.” Bailey said thoughtfully tapping her long nails against the neck of her wine glass in thought.

"What? He actually punched a guy? Damn. No wonder they dated for so long, she's probably terrified of dumping him especially after an incident like that."

“Maybe he’s the possessive type. I mean her loves her fiercely but maybe he gets jealous too easily. Doesn’t like the thought of someone that he loves being with someone else. I doubt he’d ever be violent enough to try and put Sari in her place with punches but now there’s a baby in the picture I can understand Sari wanting to keep her distance from him for a while.” Bailey sighed, trying to push the potential images that came to mind of Teran giving Sari a black eye for keeping their son out of his reach for too long. A shudder ran through her body, yeah something about that really didn’t bide well with her.

The last thing Bailey wanted was for her and Nicole’s relationship to become a Teran and Sari V2.0, she didn’t want to be the workaholic living at the office while Nicole stayed home without her. Didn’t want to care more about her last batch of a certain potion instead of an anniversary or birthday. But at the same time when Teran asked her something she couldn’t exactly say no. It wasn’t good to piss off the boss whose good side you were trying to get on, who could easily kick you to the curb for not doing as he asked. if he was with sari again maybe it would be easier for her to slide out and leave all the grunt work to Quintana because he really didn’t seem to be pulling his weight as far as Bailey saw when she was in the London office. She just needed to remember to keep a balance and put her high-heeled booted foot down every so often even if Teran didn’t like it. And if he kicked her to the curb she was a good enough potioneer to find another job, probably one of the reasons that Teran would cling on to her and let her get away with it. There was nothing worse in the potions industry than losing your best employee to another firm where they gave away your secrets and plans. Still best to tread carefully for the time being until Sari was back in his life.

"Yes, and tell him that this beautiful girlfriend of yours isn't scared of jinxing his ass off if he doesn't start treating you better."
Bailey laughed and brushed her hair behind her ear as she brushed her thumb over Nicole’s hand soothingly. “I’m sure it won’t come to that ‘Cole. He and Sari will be as right as rain soon, trust me.”

Bailey gave a knowing look at the grin trying to break free on her girlfriend’s lips, she knew the real reason for the date after all but there was nothing to say that she couldn’t reward her for being so open about her feeling afterwards. Assuming Nicole did actually come out with the words of course.

"That doesn't mean we can't visit a pub afterwards and the maybe..."

“Now you’re just reading my mind. I like that idea....I like it more than you think.” Bailey smiled, leaning across the table and pressing a soft kiss to Nicole’s lips before leaning back and kissing her hand. “And if we get there....trust me I’ll be making it worth your while...”

Bailey watched Nicole stiffen up at the words she was saying and knew there was a sense of frustration with herself as well as with Bailey. And the blonde could understand but until Nicole came out and said those three words Bailey was going to remain neutral. She did take what Nicole was trying to do seriously, she knew how hard it was for her girlfriend to just come out and say it which was why she wasn’t pushing but letting her do it slowly and surely. Bailey felt Nicole watch her as she tested the wine and poured them both a glass before leaving though the way Nicole downed her glass it was like water, yeah not a good sign at how things were going her end. Bailey sipped her own glass and watched her brunette pour another glass for herself.

She watched Nicole carefully over her own glass as she put the bottle down and saw uncertainty in her eyes, like a child that’s seen a needle....doesn’t know what it’s for only that it’s a scary eventuality whatever action it takes. Bailey tilted her head and as she let her words sink in, and it seemed to work as she saw Nicole bite her lip and nod. She took it a little at a time....first the deep breath then the tight clasping of fingers interlaced with Bailey’s own like a lifeline. Then her eyes were closing as she tried to push all her other issues aside and just think of it. That was a good sign...she was taking what she’d said seriously and using it to help which was what Bailey was there for....age gap or not she would always be there to help Nicole calm herself out of a hysteria or panic. Her fingers brushed soothingly over Nicole’s knuckles as she watched her girlfriend’s face, the lines still on her face showing angst and fear that this could all go so wrong. ‘Come on ‘Cole...do it for me.’

"Bailey, I love you."

The sound of Nicole’s voice saying her name quietly got the blonde’s attention as she’d been trying to ignore the itch inside her that craved another mouthful of wine and made her gaze rest back attentively on Nicole’s face....on the fact she was shaking...her eyes were still closed like she couldn’t bear to look at her for fear of rejection....and her hand was still clinging to hers tightly. She was in such a state. Oh Merlin...come on Nicole....and then she heard those three words and her heart felt like it was going to explode in her chest. There it was....what she had been hoping and waiting to hear from someone and finally she had. From the most beautiful woman sat opposite her....scared out of her wits. Bailey slid one hand from Nicole’s tight grip, leaving the other to sooth whatever anguish was running through her mind as she brushed Nicole’s hair out her face and smiled as she whispered, “I love you too Nicole.”

Nicole was no fool. She knew that Bailey's family life wasn't perfect, that there was some tension between her family and her sexual preference, and she knew that Aspen wasn't making anything better, but at the same time Nicole would rather deal with that, then what her family put her through. In reality, she just wished she didn't have to feel like she had to lie to have Bailey's love. She knew that wasn't completely true, but it felt like she could never be completely honest with her and that wasn't right. She claimed to love her and yet she was terrified of telling her certain things...things she had told Tatiana. But that had been different. She and Tatiana were so similar and in all honest, Nicole probably would have told Bailey those same things if she had been there at the time. Nicole had honestly needed someone to talk to that day and Tatiana had been the only one there. To this day she wasn't sure if it was her wisest decisions, but oh well. She would just deal with the consequences. Still, Nicole wondered if Bailey needed to know everything. Maybe Nicole could finally lay the past to rest and start new. That would be amazing if she could actually do that. Yeah, maybe now that she had finally admitted her dark past and deepest fears she could lay them to rest and start new. Why not? She was an adult now and she could decide who she wanted to be and maybe she didn't want to be that person anymore. Maybe she didn't have to be. Why was she forced to suffer for her father's mistakes? They were all gone and the only connection she had to her old life was her 'uncle' and even he was trying to change. He had decided to start new, so why couldn't she? Sure, Bailey would have to meet her family someday, but that didn't mean Bailey had to know everything about them. Honestly, Nicole's family was just her 'uncle', Morgan, and Andrew and that was all that Bailey needed to know. Why rehash all that old crap? Bailey was a new start for her, a new life. why destroy it by clinging to the past?

Because Nicole knew that past wasn't done with her. Sure, she had lived with her 'uncle', but he was returning to the dark arts and she was becoming involved in an attempt to protect him. She hadn't joined a group or anything like that, but she was keeping her ear to the ground and she was looking to invest in these potions. She just wanted to be informed and able to intercede when she had to, because she knew that her 'uncle' was going to get into all sorts of trouble if she didn't look after him. It was funny...he had spent most of his life looking after her and now she was trying to look after him. It was fair she supposed, besides she didn't really mind. She loved him and she knew that she owed him a lot. Besides, she wanted to make sure that this was it. After he helped Julius with whatever little project he had for her 'uncle' he was done and she would be there to make sure it happened. She didn't care who she had to confront to ensure it. 'Uncle' Eric wasn't going to ruin his life anymore then he already had, not when he had so much going for him. She knew she was being ridiculous being so protective over him and she knew that she was an adult now and should be taking care of herself, but she also knew that her 'uncle' was the way he was because no one had ever been there for him. She didn't know about his family or how he became a gang member, but she knew that a lot of his issues originated from the fact that no one had ever made an effort to honestly care for him. Well she wasn't about to repeat the same mistake and this time she had back up. She had Morgan and Andrew. Nicole realized that in an attempt to protect her 'uncle', she could risk her own soul, but she was willing to make that sacrifice. He was the only man she would do that for. she just hoped it didn't come to that, even though she knew otherwise. Things were starting to heat up and it would be a long torturous road before either of them would be able to fully settle down and break free from the past.

Nicole sometimes felt guilty not telling Bailey about her personal issues just because it could effect their relationship. Still, Nicole wasn't sure how she could get Bailey to understand...then again Bailey had Aspen. Maybe she would understand how there were those certain family members that they had to sacrifice for. Sometimes there were those people who simply meant to the world to you and so you did whatever you had to, to protect them even when they were hellbent on destroying themselves. Nicole really wished she could help Bailey out, but she hadn't been the one who got 'Uncle' Eric out of his depression funk. Sure she had made sure that her 'uncle' never actually succeeded...and she had provided him with a reason to keep getting up in the morning, but there had always been that threat...It was Morgan, really, who managed to reach him and Nicole had no idea how the Durmstrang professor had done that. So she really didn't know what to tell Bailey. Aspen was also so different from her 'uncle' and their depression sprang from different reasons. Still, Nicole knew how much it upset Bailey and she really wished she could magically fix Aspen or make Boelcke a better boyfriend. Nicole still didn't understand how someone could be so cruel to someone they were 'dating' or whatever the fuck Aspen and Boelcke were doing. Did Boelcke even have a heart? And if the German didn't like Aspen anymore, why didn't he just break it off? Why did he keep stringing Aspen along. Nicole really wanted to tell Bailey to force Aspen to break up with Boelcke, but she knew that the blonde would never do it. The German had some strange hold over Aspen and the only way Aspen would ever be free of him was if Boelcke broke up with him or Aspen died. It was kind of sad really, because Boelcke did not deserve a guy that loving or loyal.

“Again all I’ve heard is rumour. The oldest guy at the London branch says they met at Drumstrang in his last year, clicked and nothing seemed to part them until now. Something must have changed the pattern.”

"Well you know what they say about him, don't you?" Nicole commented without thinking, "They say he does deals on the side for some rather unsavory characters. Maybe she found out and decided to bail."
She normally wasn't a gossip and generally she really didn't care about other people's businesses, but she really didn't like Gnarr and it was affecting Bailey. Personally she didn't care if Sari never spoke to Teran again, she just wanted the grumpy potioneer to get over it, so Bailey could have a normal life again because this was starting to get ridiculous. It was a miracle anyone could put up working for him in this kind of mood. As Nicole thought about her comment, she wondered if Bailey knew about her employer's reputation, or if she was in on it. Nicole honestly wouldn't mind as she had her own skeletons in the closet and would have been a bit of a hypocrite if she judged. She was just curious.

“Maybe he’s the possessive type. I mean her loves her fiercely but maybe he gets jealous too easily. Doesn’t like the thought of someone that he loves being with someone else. I doubt he’d ever be violent enough to try and put Sari in her place with punches but now there’s a baby in the picture I can understand Sari wanting to keep her distance from him for a while.” “I’m sure it won’t come to that ‘Cole. He and Sari will be as right as rain soon, trust me.” “Now you’re just reading my mind. I like that idea....I like it more than you think. And if we get there....trust me I’ll be making it worth your while...

Nicole shrugged although she honestly won't have put it pass Teran. Then again she really didn't know him that well. Nicole, thankfully, had never been in an abusive relationship, but a few of her friends and family members had. She remembered the girls trying to hide the bruises with a lot of make-up or strange hairdos. Many people thought 'Uncle' Eric would be an abusive boyfriend if he ever found a girl, but Nicole had always known better. He was too much of a teddy bear to hurt the people he loved. It was the people he hated that had to be careful. Still, she could see Teran throwing a punch or two if he got really angry. Maybe not directly at Sari, but she could see him punching a wall or a door or breaking a chair. Again she wondered how he ever could have gotten a girl like Sari. Then again how had she managed to date a girl like Bailey? Nicole knew that Bailey often worried that they would turn into a twisted version of Sari and Teran, but she knew better. They were completely different from Teran and Sari and even though their respective job would keep them busy, Nicole was confident that they would keep their priorities straight and that their relationship would always come first. Nicole grinned as Bailey approved of the idea. She knew that their relationship was based on more then sex, but...it definitely made things enjoyable. She melted into the kiss and really wished their food would get here already so they could go back to Bailey's place.

“I love you too Nicole.”

After those three words left her mouth, she instantly regretted it. She didn't open her eyes because she didn't want to see the rejection on Bailey's face or even disgust. Why?! Why the hell did she open her mouth? Why couldn't she just leave well enough alone? God, she was such a fucking moron. It was so retarded! Who could love her? Seriously, who the hell could possibly love her? She was a mess, no, a disaster! She had more family issues then Agamemnon's family and she was such a ditz. She was useless and wasn't going to do anything with her life. She would most likely turn into some crazed cat lady and who ever found those people attractive? God she was so fucking stupid. Bailey was probably staring at her like she was some kind of mythical monster wondering how she was going to gracefully extract herself from this awkward situation. God damn it. Stupid, stupid, stupid Nicole! She fought her tears as Bailey freed one of her hands from her tight grip. She couldn't see this. She couldn't bare to watch the love of her life walk out on her because she was the fucking moron that actually admitted her true feelings. But wasn't she going to say something? Was Bailey really going to walk out on her in silence? Nicole almost flinched as Bailey brushed some hair out of her face. What? Time seemed to stop as Bailey whispered to her. Had she heard right? Was this some kind of sick joke? It had to be. There was no way...this wasn't possible. Nicole slowly opened her eyes, tears threatening to fall out of sheer happiness, as she stared at Bailey like she had seen a ghost. She couldn't believe it. Someone actually loved her. Dear God, someone actually loved her. She never thought it was possible and a part of her was waiting for Bailey to laugh at her and tell her it was a joke. How was this possible? How in hell did Nicole have the luck to have a gorgeous girl like Bailey fall in love with her. She gasped for air as Bailey's words slowly filtered her panic stricken brain and she smiled a teary smile and squeezed her hand once more.
"Really?"

Alexei was dressed in his nicest outfit - it wasn't fancy, but he still looked really nice - and entered the restaurant. He made a reservation for him and his date for 7pm, but he decided to show up a couple minutes early. The head waitress lead him towards a table near the middle of the restaurant with two menus in her hands. When they got to the table, Alexei thanked the waitress as he sat down and started looking at a menu.

As Alexei sat and waited, he was really hoping that the evening would be going off without a hitch. He wasn't really hoping for perfection, but he was hoping for something close to perfection. It had been many years since Alexei had been on a date, so his nerves were a little jittery. In the back of his mind, he wouldn't help think that he was glad Mercury wasn't there. The last time Alexei saw Mercury, the Russian ended up taking a transgendered person home with him and he wasn't very happy about that happening.

A normal woman would have spent hours getting ready for her first date with someone new, but Chasity was never one to sit in front of a mirror for half her life before going out. That didn't mean she didn't spend a few extra minutes getting ready that evening though. Supporting a new, knee length, burgundy with silver trim halter dress, black heels and some light make-up, she entered Topsy-Turvy. Speaking briefly with the hostess about meeting Alexei there, the woman smiled and directed her towards the middle of the restaurant where Chasity could see her date seated at a table. Thanking the hostess, she made her way across the dinning room and smiled as she reached the table.

"My, my, aren't you looking nice," she said with a gentle smile on her face. As much as she tried to hide it, she was a little nervous about the evening, but she wasn't sure why. To anyone else there wouldn't be much to be nervous about, but for Chasity Mendoza - going on dates was not something she was used to and she really wanted it to go as smoothly as possible. "I hope I'm not too over dressed," she commented afterwards, seeing that most people in the restaurant were dressed a bit more causal than she was.

Alexei couldn't stop himself from checking his watch as he waited for Chasity to arrive. He figured he was doing so because he was nervous, excited, and anxious for his date to get there. When was the last time he went on a date? The Russian honestly couldn't remember. He didn't count the one time he went to the club with Mercury because he wasn't on an actual date. As a matter of fact, Alexei did his best at forgetting that entire night.

Alexei let out a soft sigh as he glanced around the restaurant. It didn't take him long to notice the head waitress walk in his direction, though it wasn't her that put a smile on his face. Alexei's eyes moved past the waitress and landed on Chasity, who was wearing a nice burgundy dress and high heels. Alexei got to his feet and gave her a gentle hug as he said, "I'm glad you were able to come. And you look beautiful."

Alexei returned to his seat and kept a smile on his face as he poured Chasity a glass of white wine. Once he did the same for himself, he took a sip and said, "So what's new with you? I'm not going to lie. I've been really excited to see you again."

Thankful that Alexei didn't seem to notice her nervousness, Chasity returned his hug and smiled at his compliment and how he was happy she had come. Not that she had intended to not show, it was simply nice to know that he wanted her there even though they had just met for a few minutes in a quill shop. Thanking him for pouring her wine, she blushed slightly when he told her he was excited to see her again. Of course, she herself was excited about the date as well.

"I've been looking forward to tonight as well," she told him, taking a sip of her own wine. "I was half expecting you to be covered in ink again though, but I admit that your one of the few men who could pull off such an array of colors and still look handsome," she teased lightly, a small laugh escaping her lips. Normally she wouldn't have said something like that, but the nervousness seemed to have taken over.

Alexei couldn't stop himself from blushing slightly at Chasity's compliment. It was rare for him to be on a date and even more rare for the woman he was with to tell him he was handsome. The only person whoever told him he was relatively handsome was his sister Katia and it had been many months since the Russian had seen his little sister. Alexei quickly tried hiding his blushing cheeks by taking a sip of his wine and hide his face slightly with his menu.

Alexei chuckled as he lowered his menu and leaned against the table. He smiled at Chasity as he said, "Yeah, I took precautions to make sure I didn't get covered in ink." He took another sip of wine and asked, "So do you have any siblings? Do your parents live in the area?"

Chasity smiled almost in a victorious type of way when she saw Alexei blush slightly, though she hadn't been trying to make him blush. She was simply thrilled that he caught the compliment instead of just her teasing about the quill shop ink catastrophe. It was difficult enough to be on a date with someone you didn't know, but for Chasity, she had that one little extra burden that she was always sitting on and that wasn't her wheelchair...it was her lack of trust of people she didn't know.

"Ink or not, it would have been fine either way," she told him, holding back a small giggle. When he asked about her family, she pondered over it for a moment. She knew well enough that some people in the wizarding world had issues with blood status and the like. "Well, I have one brother, James. He's much younger than I am and is attending a muggle University. My parents live in Manchester. My mother is a school teacher and my father works at a bank. I suppose I took after my mother more," she added as an after thought. "What about your family?"

Alexei took a moment or two to sip his wine and think about his answer. A part of him didn't want to share everything about his family because of the dark past. First of all, his parents were close to psycho and spent much of his childhood trying to get him and his twin Vladimir in with the Death Eaters. Then there was the move to England when he was eleven. There were the many years he spent trying to hide from Vladimir and his Death Eater cronies. With all that happening, it was hard to believe that Alexei was trying to keep his younger sister Katia safe and keep her out of the Death Eaters reach. It seemed like Alexei had spent much of his life trying to keep either himself or his siblings safe from the Death Eaters, although it was harder to do that with Vladimir. Now that Vladimir was dead, Alexei did his best at keeping a watchful eye on his sister, but even that seemed to have failed slightly when she was turned into a vampire.

So what was he going to share with Chasity? Well, the best thing he could do was try to share as much as possible without letting out any of the really secretive stuff, like how his sister was now a vampire. After a moment or so, Alexei placed his wine glass down and sighed as he said, "We'll, my family was a complicated one. I had an identical twin named Vladimir and a younger sister named Katia. Our parents were extremely strict on us and were crazy enough to try enrol long us with the Russian Death Eaters. I was able to get myself and Katia out of Moscow and into England, however getting Vladimir out was harder. He eventually joined the Death Eaters and tried many times to have me join, each time being a failure. My parents died when I was young. Vladimir died last year. So now it's just Katia and I, although she now lives in America."

Teran sighed as he took a sip from his extremely expensive and his extremely strong scotch while keeping his eyes on the restaurant door. He hoped this assassin arrived soon. He had a seven o'clock meeting with another potential buyer and he needed to return to the shop and finish a patch of potions before they were ruined. And, maybe, if the potion didn't take too long, he would stop by Sari's and see Antero.

Sari and Teran were far from fixed. In fact, in some ways their relationship was worse than ever-no thanks to Boelcke, the very thought of the young German made Teran grit his teeth and tightened his grip on his glass-but at the same time they both seemed to have reach a point where there was hope for recovery. Teran wished that Sari had not learned the truth they way she had, but it seemed to have cleared the air somehow. It was a new beginning for them and even though both were nervous and careful, there was hope and, for Teran, that was good enough. He had not had hope in so long...Of course there was the risk that it would not last. There was the risk that he would fuck it up again, but he pushed those thoughts to the back of his mind. Right now he would trust to hope, besides he had far more important things to worry about.

As soon as Teran had ensured that he and Sari were semi-functional again, he ran off to hunt Boelcke down and skin him alive. Boelcke had to pay for what he had done. It had taken all of Teran's strength of will not to strangle Boelcke there and then in front of Sari and Antero. Hell, after 'fixing' things with Sari, Teran had been tempted to return to Manfred's hideout and finish the job then and there. In fact the only reason he had not tracked Boelcke down right away was because he had been intercepted by Banks, his main point of contact for his business partners. They were not happy, not happy at all, and they wanted to ensure that Teran was still loyal. Banks had taken him to a nearby cafe where Teran underwent a second painful interrogation. They were far from happy-with either Teran or Manfred-although to be fair Teran had told them a million times that Manfred was a danger. If they had listened to him in the first place, this never would have happened. Banks had smirked at his comment and dryly told him that was why they were giving him the opportunity to finish Boelcke off. While Banks and a few other associates prepared a deadly trap for Boelcke's team, it was Gnarr's job to break Boelcke by hitting him in his weak spot. Gnarr had laughed at the time and told him Boelcke was made out of stone. He didn't have a soft spot. Banks smirked again and said everyone had a weak spot. He simply needed to know where to look. He gave Teran a contact that could help him and left, which was why Teran was sitting here wasting time instead of focusing on his work.

Actually Teran was quite annoyed that he had to do this at all. When he first met his associates he had been told that he wouldn't have to get his hands dirty. All he had to do was make his potions and help sell them and that was it. They would take care of the rest and yet here he was waiting for an assassin of some sorts to show up. True he wasn't personally drawing Boelcke's blood...actually he kind of wanted to hunt Boelcke down personally. Or was he annoyed that he needed to hire someone to do it for him or because he had to deal with it at all? He wasn't sure. He just wanted the entire situation taken care of and the sooner the better. Now where was that damn assassin?

Svana had been desperately trying to find more work since the client that she had hoped would cure her itchy trigger finger in Cardiff had ended up backing out at the last minute, leaving her spending several days at a shooting range on the outskirts of Norwich in the hopes of making her feel better. But if anything it had done the exact opposite and had left her on the very edge of murderous, if she had bumped into the guy again there was no doubt in her mind that he would have ended up with a bullet between the eyes and his body dumped in the Thames for wasting her time. Still that did seem to be something promising pushed into her lap after that rather disastrous meeting. Admittedly she was bit edgy about meeting with a client that had been set up through a second party, there was no telling what kind of person they would be having bad experiences in the past at such.

The last time she had been in such a situation had seen her being ambushed by a group of crazy assassins while in Hungary who seemed to think that she was muscling in on their turf, never mind the fact that she had only been passing through and had no idea why they would assume otherwise. Unless someone had told them as much just so they could attempt to get rid of her, attempt being the preoperative word of course. From the ambushers, three ended up with bullets in places that weren't exactly pleasant at the best of times, one had a wound so severe that she later learned he'd had to have his leg amputated thus spelling the end of his assassinating career and another had a deep bullet wound to the back of the head. She would have actually gone through with putting him out of his misery executioner style because of the sheer lip on him if she hadn't got scared off by a couple of police men walking too close for comfort meaning she couldn't finish the job. Such a shame.

Regardless it left her more than a little on edge about this time. Though she was more than a little certain that she would in the very least be hired for sure this time, she had already had a rather healthy amount of galleons deposited in her vault by the source of her next possible job which was always a welcome sight. But instead of being told to meet them client in a private place where she didn't have to deal with the small talk and the like, a message had been left in her private mail box for her to be at the Restaurant of Topsy Turvy at a particular time and look for a guy drinking a scotch with icy blue eyes. It wasn't specific, because of course that would have only been carelessly helpful, but not one to turn a job down she had swallowed her pride and dressed to impress in a black skirt suit after ensuring she had her wand and her gun on her in case it went wrong.

Of course the description of a man with icy blue eyes immediately brought her thoughts to the guy, Teran, that she had spent the night with at the Nebula. She had not in the least been so dense that she had hadn't heard that he was looking for her afterwards but being a girl who did one nights and not more than that had ensured that Chelsea had been off his radar ever since. She had liked the attention, a girl would have to be absolutely crazy not to, but she could remember seeing the way his eyes would glaze over every so often like he was thinking of someone else. Call her crazy but Svana refused to be the girl who ended up ruining a relationship and that was the policy she was sticking to. She hoped that Teran had got back together with his other half and that whatever issues they had had been overcome for his sake.

After walking towards Topsy Turvy, Svana hovered outside just to check that she hadn't been tailed by touching up her make up in a compact. All she saw behind her was a family of five who didn't seem at all likely to have been sent to follow her and a few ministry officials on their way back home from the office. Coast clear. Still she made sure to take her time before returning her things to her bag and opening the door to the restaurant. Upon doing so she immediately had a flashback to the night she and Teran were together, leaving her looking like a deer caught in the headlights as she stood in the doorway. Not a professional look even she admitted that much but, think of the devil and he shall appear. She came back to reality hoping it was just a dream but no, there sat with a scotch in his hand and his icy blue eyes looking rather annoyed and agitated was Teran.

A maitre'd came over to ask if she was ok, causing Svana to stiffen her posture, and assure them she was fine as she walked past him towards Teran's table. Part of her craved a drink to make the meeting more bearable, but no she needed to be professional, first impressions were everything after all. Or in this case second impressions. She approached the table, keeping her mind set in that of a professional and sat down before Teran could recognize her.

"So I hear from a certain group of birds that you're in the need for an assassin?"

The very thought of a damnable German male made a few lights flicker as Teran tried to control his rage. It was coursing through him, like a stream of lava, burning him alive. He was becoming consumed by it and God help whoever he finally unleashed it on. In some ways Teran wanted to personally draw and quarter Boelcke. He wanted to watch the horror and pain in his eyes as his loved one was tortured and tormented for no sin of their own, but simply because they dared to love him. And yet, Teran knew that was stupid. He could not do anything that directly connected him to whatever was about to happen to Boelcke...even this little meeting had been arranged by another party and the very reservation at this restaurant was under a different name. Despite all of this precautions, Teran was still slightly nervous. He was faintly convinced that Boelcke's team had been tailing him since the interrogation. He also had a feeling that they were constantly watching Sari's house as well. Teran had no idea how Boelcke had grown into such a menace, but he needed to be stopped.

Of course one may ask why meet in a public place if he did not want to be connected with what was about to happen, and that was because the best place to hide was in plain sight. Besides if this assassin was as good as they said no one would know this meeting had taken place. Teran was also nervous about meeting this assassin. He knew his business partners were upset with him and, quite frankly, he was not sure how much longer he had. They had made it very clear that if Boelcke did not pay and soon they would be tearing Teran apart. The thought nearly caused him to break his glass. It was not his fault that Boelcke had grown into such a problem. They had assured him that Boelcke would not be a problem, he was just a young upstart who was taking on more than he could chew. They had given him a month before he burnt himself out. Yeah, right. Instead, the young German had turned into a terror that needed to be put down. They should have done this ages ago. A lot of trouble would have been avoided and Sari would never have been in danger. God damn that German!

But how were they supposed to hurt him? The man was made out of ice. He turned in his own family members and he had no friends. It was true he had been with the Order during the war, but no one saw Boelcke associating with them since the war ended. And the idea of Boelcke having a special someone was laughable. The man would eat his only young if he had too. Of course Teran was painfully aware of the similarities between him and Boelcke, but there was one major difference between them-one that Teran was going to pretend actually mattered-Teran loved and had a family that he would do anything for, even if they had a hard time believing it. It was strange that a man who had once called himself an Order member had turned his back on the love that supposedly gave them the power to defeat evil and all that crap.

Teran sighed as he took a sip from his scotch. It was killing him that he couldn't chase after Boelcke himself, but he realized he had to be smart about this. Besides did it really matter who punished Boelcke as long as he paid for what he had done. The one thought that comforted Teran was that Boelcke would suffer like no other. By the time Teran and his associates were done with him, the young German was going to be begging for death.

"So I hear from a certain group of birds that you're in the need for an assassin?"

Teran raised an eyebrow as a young and beautiful woman entered the restaurant. She looked strangely familiar, but he didn't know why. She also looked a bit lost. Teran shook his head and took another sip from his drink. He didn't have time to worry about some very attractive woman. He needed this assassin to hurry up and arrive so he could return to work. He furrowed his eyebrows as the woman approached his table. What the hell? He didn't have time for this, especially since he just got Sari back. It was true that he had been searching for Chelsea because Chelsea allowed him to unleash a side of himself that he would never unleash on Sari. He had never been able to find Chelsea again and a part of him was grateful for that-he did not need that temptation-and yet another part of him was disappointed. It didn't matter. She was gone and he was back together with Sari-although he didn't know how long that would last. He took another sip from his scotch as the woman sat down. He was about to snap at her when she spoke. His eyes widened. This was the assassin his associates wanted him to use? He wasn't sure if he should feel irritated for being sent a whore or hold his tongue and feel her out to see if she was the expert his associates had assured him she was. He was also slightly confused. Why did she look so familiar?
"It's a simple job. There is an annoying gnat that needs to be squashed. We need it done quickly and quietly. Can you handle that?"

Svana had worked with many types of clients in her career. There were those that wanted the target killed in a particular way and she was just the way of going about it without them being seen as involved. There were those that wanted the target killed but had no experience in how to kill someone and wanted her opinion and expertise in that regard. And then there were those that wanted to kill a target themselves but were being restrained from doing just that because their bosses would excommunicate them for getting involved in that respect. In one occasion, a client had a vendetta against a particular individual for sleeping with his wife multiple times, one might see it as extreme the need to have a spouses lover killed but for Svana it was understandable. Especially if they loved that spouse fiercely and would do anything to keep that person in their life no matter what they had done. She had ended up slitting his throat and hanging him from the rafters in his apartment as he bled out to make sure he had no chance of survival which had been exactly what the client had hoped for, she got paid extra that time. Still there was the odd case that it was not the target that the client wanted dead but someone of immense significance to the target to make them suffer. She had only done that once, and while she hadn't exactly loved the experience of killing someone's only loved one, she had been paid handsomely and that had only helped her if and when the time came for her to do it again.

Admittedly meeting in public places so there was a lack of obviousness could be seen as a good thing. After all if someone looked at a man and woman they would immediately assume they were a couple or something which was often an easy enough cover. It would make it all the more easier to talk about how to murder someone or who the target was without appearing suspicious. Admittedly the same could be said of a female assassin and a target, if the target was a man she could pretend to be a nurse or something while in turn double checking that he was dead. Being a woman did seem to be so easily overlooked in this profession and yet Svana saw it as nothing but an advantage.

Of course some people when it came to hurting a target instead of looking for the obvious kill or torture wanted to do something more delicate like the hurting of loved one. In some cases the Target would try and keep their distance from those they loved, protecting them so that if they were followed or on an assassin's radar they would be so much harder to find. But as Svana had learned no matter how much someone tried to stay away from someone they loved, usually they could only stay away a week tops before needing to see them, fuck them or whatever. Some people were just completely useless all together and though appearing heartless, that they had no-one, would have one person squirreled away in a place that they believed was safe. It was usually just a matter of continuing to follow them until you found the weak link. No matter who they were, there was always a weak link.

Svana had felt Teran's icy gaze rested on her as she entered the restaurant which immediately made an icy feeling spread through her stomach as though she was sure that he recognized her but when he shook his head and turned back to his drink relief flowed through her. The last thing she would need was if Teran recognized her as Chelsea, it would definitely put a spanner in the works, especially in terms of her professionalism for the job she'd been hired to do. Still when she approached the table and he frowned she was definitely all the more relieved at his lack of recognition. Or maybe it was something else, was it the fact that an attractive woman was approaching his table and he was back in his other half good books. Still she wasn't here as Chelsea, she was here as Svana and as far as Svana was concerned the liaison with her and Teran had happened in a past life and it would remain that way as long as they were in business with each other. Svana only just managed to stop a smile from spreading across her lips at the look on his face when she sat down, let alone how his eyes widened when she acknowledged that she knew his problem and had been the one sent there to help solve it. Probably not what he had been expecting, then again she never usually was.

"It's a simple job. There is an annoying gnat that needs to be squashed. We need it done quickly and quietly. Can you handle that?"

"All jobs in this profession are seen as simple from where I'm standing. The world is after all filled with annoying gnats no matter what business you are in I'm sure. Still it will be no problem in regards to speed and stealth, all I need to know is the name of the target and we can come up with an arrangement I'm sure." Svana said softly, making sure her words were heard only by Teran and no-one else. Discretion is always the key in a meeting like this after all.

(Sorry this is crap >.<)

Teran knew it may have been wiser to go after Boelcke directly and get him out of the way, but his associates didn't just want the German dead, they wanted a message to be sent. They wanted to make a show so as to dissuade other wannabe Aurors and Order members and, even though they didn't tell Teran everything, he approved of their plan. It was no more than the German deserved for what he did to Sari. Still the plan called for the destruction of everything Boelcke held dear-his business, his drug task force, and whoever he held dear-if there was anyone he actually cared abut. Teran doubted it, but it was his job to try and find this mysterious person or make someone up if he it turned out she didn't actually exist. Still Teran hoped he got the privilege of killing Manfred when the time came.

Even though it tried Teran's patience, he had to admit that this was a far slower-but sweet revenge then simply killing Manfred outright. At least this way, he would truly suffer for all the horror and pain he had caused. In some ways, he was looking forward to the pain Manfred was going to go through as everything he cared for was taken away from him. The German thought it was hilarious to play with the few people Teran actually cared about. Boelcke thought it was fun to threaten the only person who mattered in Teran's life. Why shouldn't he get a taste of his own medicine? What was wrong with making Boelcke feel the same pain he had given Sari and Teran? It was true that so called 'innocents' would be sacrificed, but that didn't seem to bother Boelcke when he went after Sari and Antero, so why should it bother Teran? Besides who really was innocent in Boelcke's world? What kind of people did Boelcke associate himself with? He knew people said the same thing about him, but somehow he got the distinct feeling Boelcke did not associate with anyone outside of his task force and he knew for a fact that no one on his team was innocent.

Teran knew that Boelcke prided himself on his ability to dig up dirt and Teran hated to admit it, but he was impress how much Boelcke actually knew during the interrogation, but Teran was no slouch himself. He had made it a goal of his to learn everytihng he could about all of the members on Boelcke's team and he knew almost all of them now. His second in command-Hugo Wolfe was an old Auror who had once been busted on dealing drugs in Asia on the side. He had met Boelcke's potion's mistress-Martha Meagher-years ago. She once had an affair with a Wizengamot member in order to get her at the time Death Eater boyfriend out of Azkaban. Nathanial McPherson was known for his brutal treatment of crooks and criminals and was suspended numerous times for bringing in Death Eaters and dark wizards barely alive. Parsons was a drunk who was rumored to have accidentally killed his own wife in a drunken rage. So no, there were no innocents, no matter how much Manfred wanted to pretend otherwise. It was quite funny actually. Manfred hunted murderers and lawbreakers by surrounding himself with murderers and lawbreakers. And yet he had the balls to judge him? The thought made Teran growl. Where did he get off? And to drag Sari into it to? Of course that was the greatest crime the German had committed and he was going to pay for it.

Teran watched the woman sit in front of him. For a second he thought she looked relieved for some reason, but it was quickly replaced with a cold business type attitude that Teran instantly respected. He hated nothing more than an airhead or someone who dared to waste his time. Still he could not shake the feeling that he had met her some place before, but where? Obviously not at one of Sari's events. The woman in front of him was pretty, but not a model and he doubted she would enjoy that kind of work anyway. She had a definite I don't give a shit kind of attitude that rubbed models the wrong way. In fact, Teran had to admit it was very refreshing to meet a woman who knew what mattered.

"All jobs in this profession are seen as simple from where I'm standing. The world is after all filled with annoying gnats no matter what business you are in I'm sure. Still it will be no problem in regards to speed and stealth, all I need to know is the name of the target and we can come up with an arrangement I'm sure."

He smiled as she went straight to business. He was liking her more and more. He took a sip from his scotch and said, "True, but this gnat in particular is a true pain in the ass and he needed to pay."
He watched her briefly as he tried to place her face. Where had he seen her before? This was going to drive him crazy.
"His name is Manfred Boelcke, an irritating German who doesn't know how to mind his own business," siad Teran pulling out his wand and creating a photo of Boelcke out of thin air and watching it waver to the assassin, "However, he's not your target. Your target is his significant other, if he has one."
