Sitting on the front steps of the small church located on the way to Hogsmeade, Katia rubbed her forehead. Was she really doing this again? Coming here might have been a mistake. It wasnt so long ago that she fell for this trick and ended up almost getting killed by Erica. Luckily, the other vampire didnt seem to be coming back around here anytime soon so Katia felt pretty safe in sitting here. The sun was starting to set and it cast a soft glow across the horizon. Otherwise, Katia would be wearing sunglasses and a cloak that covered any visible body part. At least Xavier was smart enough to ask to meet her here close to nightfall.

She reached inside her pocket to retrieve the letter he'd sent her. She couldnt have been more shocked to see a bird fly into the open window of her bedroom and drop this letter into her lap this morning. Katia was already in enough trouble no thanks to the Wraith so she really didnt need to be here, asking for more trouble. He was going to get her kicked out of the Order because they werent going to believe anything Xavier told her that day months ago. Luckily, she hasnt had a chance to tell them yet what she knew. The longer she kept all of this crap to herself the better off she was.

A couple teenagers passed by on the village road but Katia didnt give them a glance. Taking a deep breath, Katia decided that she wasnt going to get herself down because of all this. She was going to hear what Xavier had to say and be done with it. Of course, he had to get here first. Where was he? She didnt want to be sitting here all night. Oh, it was just like him to make her wait for this. Growing even more impatient, she stood up and braced her hands on the porch rails.

With a faint, popping sound, a figure appeared in the windswept fields in the vicinity of Hogsmeade. He was tall, about 6'7", and black robes covered his muscular body. A katana in a black sheath was at his side. For a moment, he just stood there, his dark eyes scanning his surroundings, before moving off with long, quick strides. His long white hair blew around in the wind as Xavier Moody made his way down to the road that led to the village. For those that knew the leader of the Wraiths, they would notice one thing that was different than usual: there was no arrogant smirk on Xavier's face, nor did he appear to be in a more quiet but still confident mood. If anything, he seemed worried. At one point, he actually stopped and took a deep breath, trying to calm his nerves. Still, Xavier realised that he was feeling a lot better now than he had been a day ago; despite the danger that he was in, the Wraith felt more at ease now that he had finally made a choice.

For almost a year, Xavier considered himself to have been living in two worlds: the one of the Death Eaters and his own. Ever since he had helped Erica escape... The Dark Lord had been most displeased when the Order of the Phoenix had infiltrated his headquarters thanks to a spy within their ranks and to make sure no one would betray him again, he had ordered a 'purging' of the Death Eaters... Anyone that he didn't consider valuable nor trustworthy enough to serve him, the Dark Lord had killed or set his servants to. Undoubtedly, Xavier's assignment to kill Erica (who had proven herself loyal to him) had been a test of his own allegiance. But, to his own surprise, Xavier had failed that test. He couldn't bring himself to kill her to save his own hide and instead, he had made sure that Erica got to safety. So he cheated. Xavier had perfected his Occlumency and faked evidence; he had managed to fool his master and since then, he had become one of the Dark Lord's closest servants.

Yet his mind had not been at ease... Not only because there was a chance that Lord Voldemort would discover his treachery, but also whether he should continue to serve him at all. Perhaps the so-called 'purging' had shocked Xavier... As he continued to walk, he searched his feelings. Was he doing this merely out of fright for Voldemort? Him? Then the answer came to him and his nerves disappeared entirely. No... He wasn't doing this out of fear. He was afraid, but that was not his reason to act. Xavier was doing this because of his loyalty to the cause he truly served: the ideal of a world without such a pathetic Ministry; a world where the Dark Arts were free to flourish; a world where Mudbloods and Muggles were considered second-class, as they were; a world where the strong eat the weak... A dark utopia for the Wraith's kind... Voldemort had promised his servants that world, but now, Xavier had realised that he would lead them only to their doom. Once the Order had been dealt with, Voldemort would turn on his own servants, so they would never pose a threat to his reign. They would get no reward. Xavier now knew that for all of their sakes (enemy of his or not), Voldemort had to be stopped.

And yesterday, Xavier had discovered something terrible. Something that could extinguish the last light of hope for all of wizardkind. There was no time to wait. No more time for schemes or anything else but to leap into action. That's why he had contacted an old 'friend'.

Finally, as the sun had nearly set, Xavier arrived at the small church that stood along the road. His eyes turned towards a figure that was standing there. After quickly looking around and determining that no Death Eater had intercepted the letter he'd sent her and set a trap, Xavier moved closer, his face unusually solemn. "Katia..." Was the only word the Wraith quietly spoke in his usually so menacing voice, as though he was still worried that someone would overhear.

How did he know to meet her here? How did Xavier know about this small church that's become a safe haven for Katia in recent years? She didnt put anything past the man but this was a little disconcerting. She didnt like being surprised by anything. She just hoped that whatever Xavier wanted, it wouldn cost her anything. Their last conversation may cost her the Order so what else could he want from her? Trusting him was not something that was going to come easily for her so he better have a very strong argument for his side of things. Even then she couldnt promise that she would listen to him.

The wind picked up and blew through her hair. Goosebumps erupted along her arms. Well, it looked like he was nearby. Stupid sixth sense when it came to this man. She hated it and wished it would go away. Katia didnt bother turning around to greet him. He would somehow make his presence known to her. All she had to do was wait. The wind blew his scent closer to her face. She resisted the urge to inhale deeply. His musky, familiar smell seemed to invade her mind. It wasnt him personally, it was just the fact that he was human was getting her antsy. This whole vampire thing was sometimes hard to handle.

When Xavier spoke her name softly, a demand to know why she was here threatened to spill out until she turned around to face him. What she saw was not the Xavier Moody she knew and once loved. No, this was a different man. At least in the way he was carrying himself. Normally, he had this arrogant look about him that always annoyed her. Now, it was replaced with something else. Worry? Fear? Katia almost gasped out loud. Was he actually afraid of something? She never thought she would see the day that he would be in fear of something..or someone. God, if this were true then why was he coming to her? What could she possibly do to protect him? Did she even want to help him?

It would be so covenient right now to be able to use her gift and read his mind. However, she never attempted it with him. Katia was always afraid to get inside his mind, in fear of what she might see. So, she didnt start that now. Instead, she asked, "Why am I here, Xavier?" She crossed her arms over her chest and desperately wanted to know what put that fear into his eyes. What did he think she could do for him? There was the inevitable possibility that he would never admit anything to her and that was fine. The less involved the better off her sanity was.

"Why am I here, Xavier?"

Surprisingly, at Katia's words, a small smile briefly appeared on Xavier's face. Maybe it was the way that she always reacted (straight to the point) that amused him. Or maybe it reminded him of those moments he'd spoken to her before, acting as cocky and annoying as he possibly could; maybe it somehow returned some of that confidence. Of course, Xavier couldn't blame Katia's reaction - he had betrayed her trust earlier. Betrayed the trust of perhaps the only person in an extremely long time to see some good in him. At the time, he had believed it to be the right course of action, but there was no time to dwell on the past now.

The smile faded from Xavier's face and after finally checking one last time that there was no one that could be listening to their conversation, he took one step closer and talked. "I think you can guess the reason, kind of..." He replied before placing his hands in the pockets of his robes and explaining. "I needed someone in the Order of the Phoenix. I recently discovered some information that the Order absolutely must be made aware of. I know it's hard for you to trust me after everything I've done, but you must believe me... It may sound rather dramatic, but the fate of the wizarding world is at stake."

The Wraith may have a talent for reading people, but, even if determining what Katia was thinking was an easy thing, he had no idea whether she could bring herself to trust him again. It reminded Xavier of the last conversation they'd had, months ago... He had already informed Katia of some vital information, but it had taken a while. Most likely, things wouldn't be any different now... However, Xavier knew that they were pressed for time so he decided to speed things up a little bit.

He did something that he normally would have never done. For a moment, it looked like he was going to pull a weapon, but he did it quite slowly. Xavier removed the sword from the belt at his side first, sheath and all; then he took his wand from the pocket of his robes. Both weapons Xavier held forward in each hand and even inclined his head slightly, offering the weapons to Katia. Then he spoke again.

"I'm going to cut right to the chase, Katia - I need to meet with the Order. With all of them. Right now." If there had been any glint in Xavier's eyes that may have given the impression that he wasn't taking this meeting seriously, it was gone now. "Take my weapons. Just don't touch the hilt of my sword, it's cursed, grab it by the sheath."

"Tell the Order that I'm prepared to offer myself into their custody, I don't care. But I must speak with them... You, Caelestis, Ralem... And anyone else that's prepared to listen."

There was a brief pause... Then, as though it took the Wraith immense effort to say it, he added, "I'm joining your side." If anyone had told Xavier a few years ago that he would actually be prepared to swear loyalty to the Order of the Phoenix, he might've cursed them for coming up with such a stupid joke.

Yet here he was, offering the Shikyoken and his wand to Katia Grinkova.

I know it's hard for you to trust me after everything I've done, but you must believe me... It may sound rather dramatic, but the fate of the wizarding world is at stake."

Okay, this was basically the same stuff he told her months ago. When Xavier had glanced around them as if to make sure nobody else was around and stepped forward, Katia lifted an eyebrow at his paranoia. She glanced around as well and wanted to reassure him that she couldnt sense any other humans around them. Of course, that could be because his scent was doing funny things to her brain. When he stepped closer, she was tempted to take a step back just to get away from him. That wouldnt help much but at least it would be the best thing she could do. However, she didnt move. She could feel her mind drifting into a state of cloudiness. She could still comprehend what he was saying to her but she was a bit slower in responding.

He was right about it being hard for her to trust him. He was the only person in the world she didnt trust...and yet she did. It didnt make any sense and she wasnt sure she understood it either but it was the truth nonetheless. He could hurt her worse than anyone else and yet she could remember the glimpses of goodness she saw in him years ago. That goodness had been erased by an obsession with killing Cael. Now, she was at a loss for what she saw. When Xavier moved again, this time he pulled his wand and sword from his belt. Katia shook her head from the fogginess and was instantly alert. Great. This was a set up! Of course it was. She reached inside her pocket, ready to pull a Killing Curse on his ass when he did something totally unexpected...

"I'm going to cut right to the chase, Katia - I need to meet with the Order. With all of them. Right now. Take my weapons. Just don't touch the hilt of my sword, it's cursed, grab it by the sheath. Tell the Order that I'm prepared to offer myself into their custody, I don't care. But I must speak with them... You, Caelestis, Ralem... And anyone else that's prepared to listen."

He held his weapons out to her. It was then that Katia took a step back. Was he kidding with this? Surely he was because that damn sword was like an appendage to him. She never saw him without it. His explanation caused a giggle to escape. "Who are you and what have you done with Xavier Moody? He would never give these to anyone." Man, if this was really true then he must be deadly serious. Xavier would NEVER do this otherwise. He wouldnt even give these things to the Dark Lord if he demanded it....of that Katia was very sure. This had to be an imposter. "You do realize that if you gave these to me, you would be at my mercy, right?" She let out another laugh. That was a very appealing thought. She couldnt image anything better.

"I'm joining your side."

Katia couldnt do anything else except stare at the man before her. He was...humbling himself right in front of her. She glanced around to make sure cameras werent around in case this was part of a practical joke on her. No cameras in sight though. She looked back at him and could see the seriousness in his eyes. Katia was very good at reading people so she was sure she wasnt wrong about this. She still didnt trust him completely but his eyes told her that he was telling her the truth. "You-you're joining the Order? Why now?" She glanced down at his still-outstretched hands holding his weapons. If he gave these to her, he would be completely defenseless against any attack or spell. Hmm....there was a thought. Perhaps she should grab them while she still had her chance.

"Who are you and what have you done with Xavier Moody? He would never give these to anyone. You do realize that if you gave these to me, you would be at my mercy, right?"

Xavier couldn't help but be slightly annoyed when Katia actually giggled and he nearly rolled his eyes. If only she knew what the Dark Lord had been doing for all these months and what he was planning now... But he wouldn't speak to anyone about that until he was safely at the Order's meeting place. No one but them could afford to know of it.

He then focused on the conversation again. "You are quite correct... I have only removed my sword once and that was only to prove my allegiance to the Dark Lord, so I hope you understand just how serious I am about this," he said, a hint of impatience in his voice. The Wraith recalled that conversation with his former master very well... It had been their first meeting ever since Xavier had been sent from his service years ago, during the Second War, as punishment for sacrificing so many of the Wraiths merely to try and kill Caelestis. How ironic that removing the Shikyoken had been evidence of his loyalty and that now he was presenting it to the Dark Lord's enemy for the same reason. "And yes... I am well aware that I would be at your mercy and the Order's. You'd be free to imprison me, free to torture me... Even free to try and kill me."

"You-you're joining the Order? Why now?"

"Don't get the wrong idea. I'm not exactly joining because I believe in your ideas of sweet little justice or anything like that," Xavier said, perhaps a bit more sharply than he initially intended. "I'm joining because I want to help you kill... Riddle." He knew that saying Voldemort's name was dangerous, but this may have been the first time that he'd called him by his real name and honestly, it still felt a little... Weird. "Ever since you broke into the Wright Mansion, he's been incredibly paranoid about his servants. If he wins, he'll turn on us next to make sure that no one will ever challenge him again," the Wraith explained. "And now Riddle has become a greater threat than ever before. If all his enemies don't unite now, we may all be screwed."

Meanwhile, Xavier was still standing there, trying to give his weapons to Katia. "Go on, take them. Before I change my mind," he added and tossed his wand Katia's way for starters. Of course, that last bit wasn't true... Xavier was prepared to do quite a lot of things to get a meeting with the Order and he knew that giving up his sword and wand would be fundamental.

I am well aware that I would be at your mercy and the Order's. You'd be free to imprison me, free to torture me... Even free to try and kill me."

Now, he was removing his sword to prove his loyalty to the Order. Had she stepped into the Twilight Zone and not realized it? She could only imagine how Cael, Ralem, Caedmon, and the other Order members were going to react to this. They werent going to believe it at first. She could just see the looks on their faces when she walked in with Xavier's sword and his sword. They were probably going to assume that she'd killed him because she had possession of his weapons. Yeah, right. They should know better than that though. She was the least likely person to ever kill this man. Katia couldnt help but grin at his last words. Xavier Moody would be at her mercy until the next Order meeting. Maybe she should postpone this as much as possible so she could enjoy this little adventure. Anything that would torture him and make this man squirm would be ideal for her. "Okay, so as long as you understand that the Order might not be as accepting of this as I am. They just might imprison you until we figure out what our next move is. I guess it all depends on what you have to say about Riddle. It figures that you would come to me of all the people in the Order. Just my luck." She rolled her eyes.

"Don't get the wrong idea. I'm not exactly joining because I believe in your ideas of sweet little justice or anything like that. I'm joining because I want to help you kill... Riddle. And now Riddle has become a greater threat than ever before. If all his enemies don't unite now, we may all be screwed."

Katia shook her head and made a face. "I'm not an idiot. I know your version of justice is totally different from ours. As for Riddle being paranoid, well, he should be. He's made some serious mistakes in the past and he will continue to make them. However, I think you're right about one thing. All of his enemies uniting is a great idea. Of course, that would mean working with some of your devoted Syndicate goons and that might just be a very hard pill for the Order to swallow. But, if we come together for the purpose of getting rid of Riddle then it might be worth it." She was trying to convince herself of that fact. She had to be certain this was the right thing to do before going to the Order with all of this...with Xavier.

"Go on, take them. Before I change my mind."

Katia caught his wand when he tossed it to her. She glanced at it for a moment but what she really wanted to get her hands on was that sword. She pocketed his wand and tentatively reached for his sword. Like he had instructed, she carefully grabbed it by the sheath from his hands. It was heavier than she expected it to be. Katia couldnt help but imagine killing him with his own sword. If she had any sense at all she would do that very thing. After all, he's tried to kill her with this very weapon...and saved her life. Looking up at him, she grinned. Pointing the sword towards him, she said, "I really should kill you right now, you know. It would do so many people a favor, me most of all." She lowered her eyes and the sword. Sighing, she said, "I'm not you though. I dont enjoy killing people for the rush of the kill." She turned and walked down the steps of the church, the sword still in her hands. "I will notify the Order that you wish to see them and then I will let you know when and where."

I guess it all depends on what you have to say about Riddle. It figures that you would come to me of all the people in the Order. Just my luck."

"Oh, don't worry... I understand," Xavier stated. Again, there was a slight hint of annoyance, but this time it wasn't with Katia. The Order would undoubtedly slow things down, but there was no choice in the matter. He tried to imagine how the other Order-members would react once they saw Katia bring him in. Let's see... Cael would probably be shocked, but also the first to actually decide to hear him out; Tarendeau would probably want him behind bars; Caedmon Darke might be willing to listen, but would remain on guard; dear little Sammie and Banks would most likely want to take the opportunity to kill him on the spot... What a wonderful bunch.

"I'm not an idiot. I know your version of justice is totally different from ours. As for Riddle being paranoid, well, he should be. He's made some serious mistakes in the past and he will continue to make them. However, I think you're right about one thing. All of his enemies uniting is a great idea. But, if we come together for the purpose of getting rid of Riddle then it might be worth it."

"Trust me, it'll be worth it," Xavier said, but decided not to add, 'I just hope it will be enough'. If there was one thing clear, it was that the Death Eaters were just as dangerous as ever, even if they hadn't shown themselves yet. Voldemort ("Tom Riddle," Xavier corrected himself) had done quite a lot of damage to his own side trying to weed out any other traitours; there were few people left from the original crowed. But in the past few months, the Death Eaters had moved carefully to gain new supporters. Once they struck, this false peace would shatter into a million peaces. For his sake and that of the Syndicate, Xavier only hoped the battle wouldn't last long... But he didn't think so. His instincts told him that all this quiet had just been the calm before the storm and that they were moving closer towards a conclusion of this conflict...

Perhaps one huge battle would settle it all...

"I really should kill you right now, you know. It would do so many people a favor, me most of all. I'm not you though. I dont enjoy killing people for the rush of the kill."

Xavier was shaken from his thoughts as Katia caught his wand and finally grabbed his sword soon afterwards. Watching the Shikyoken in the hands of another felt... Humiliating somehow, but there was no emotion on his face. The Wraith wasn't the only one that thought that way, though; he could feel the repressed anger from the blade itself. It was powerfully enchanted and while his sword didn't have a mind, it did have a will of it's own. Xavier calmed himself and he could sense the katana did aswell.

A smirk briefly appeared on Xavier's features and it seemed his old confidence returned for a moment. "Heh... I'd like to see you try... But it doesn't matter. Any bickering between us is pointless," he said, wondering what it took for the average Order-member to kill him under these circumstances.

"I will notify the Order that you wish to see them and then I will let you know when and where."

But when Katia walked down the stairs, Xavier swiftly moved closer and grabbed her wrist. "Wait. There's no time. I would prefer it if you could send the message and bring me to them now," he said. "I can't exactly go back to Riddle without my wand or my sword either. For now, he doesn't know yet that I've switches sides. If I met with the Order tonight and no one discovers, I could continue passing information on towards you."

"Heh... I'd like to see you try... But it doesn't matter. Any bickering between us is pointless."

Now there was the Xavier she knew. Before, he was just acting creepy with his giving her his weapons and being all humble and stuff. Katia laughed and said, "Now, there's the Xavier we all know and love. You scared me with the way you've been acting today." She shivered dramatically. She swears that she wasnt making fun of him. In fact, she was trying to get him back to his old self. She didnt like this whole new Xavier of the past few minutes. He wasnt the person you'd want on your side during a battle. Plus, it would be even harder for the Order to believe him if he came in not acting like himself. Especially Cael who probably knew him better than anyone else. Katia still didnt trust him but if he was willing to hand over his weapons until he saw the Order then there had to be something to all of this. Maybe Riddle had finally gone over the top with his plans and Xavier didnt want any part of it. She was just curious as to what Riddle had done. Well, it looked like she was going to find out very soon.

"Wait. There's no time. I would prefer it if you could send the message and bring me to them now. I can't exactly go back to Riddle without my wand or my sword either. For now, he doesn't know yet that I've switches sides. If I met with the Order tonight and no one discovers, I could continue passing information on towards you."

Staring down at his hand on her wrist, she had the sudden urge to punch him in the face for even thinking of touching her. His demands didnt make things better either. He was hardly in the position to make demands at the moment. After all, she was the one holding his sword...the love of his life. Jerking her wrist from his hand, she snapped, "Dont touch me." She readjusted her grip on the heavy sword and said, "Where do you suggest I tell them to meet you? I cant exactly send everyone a message without a location for them to meet us at." Xavier had a point though. He couldnt very well go back to Riddle without his weapons. That would let him know exactly what he was up to. It sounded like she was going to be a spy of sorts again. She would be lying if she said that didnt sound appealing. "This better be good, Xavier, because this just might cost me the Order's loyalty and that's something that I dont want to lose. I'm not saying that I trust you completely but since I have your weapons in my hands, I have no choice but to see this through."

"Now, there's the Xavier we all know and love. You scared me with the way you've been acting today."

This time, Xavier really did roll his eyes. "Then I hope you understand just how important this is. Any minute we waste talking is an advantage to Riddle," he said sharply, dropping all pretense. All these people seemed to think that Xavier was some sort of invincible demi-god or something that was never worried or frightened. He supposed he gave off that impression, but it certainly wasn't the truth. This time, he couldn't hide his fear of Voldemort's power. The Wraith often wondered just how much of the Order's 'courage' was actual bravery and how much was ignorance.

"Dont touch me. Where do you suggest I tell them to meet you? I cant exactly send everyone a message without a location for them to meet us at."

Ignoring Katia's reaction, Xavier raised his eyebrows at her question. "What are you asking me for? I only just joined your little group," he added sarcastically, before speaking more seriously. "Where does the Order usually meet? How would you guys act if a member contacted them for an emergency meeting? Do you meet at an Order-member's home? Or the Shrieking Shack, perhaps?" The Wraith was quite curious as to where the Order of the Phoenix was going to gather. He'd heard from reliable source that they were forbidden from meeting at Hogwarts for some time now. "Wherever it is, it's best to put some security enchantments on the place, just to be safe. But I probably don't need to tell you that."

"This better be good, Xavier, because this just might cost me the Order's loyalty and that's something that I dont want to lose. I'm not saying that I trust you completely but since I have your weapons in my hands, I have no choice but to see this through."

"Once I've told all of you what Riddle's up to, you'll be pretty glad you didn't kill me right here and now," Xavier remarked. Though he was often the first in favour of killing someone just to be careful, this was undoubtedly the right course of action for all of them - and Xavier didn't think that only because it was his life on the line this time.

Okay, so the man had some valid points. Damn him. Great, now everything was up to her. She's never called an Order meeting before and was a little nervous at the task. She knew everyone would come but they leave very quickly once they saw their guest of honor. Katia rubbed her forehead in frustration. Was this really going to work? This was such a huge risk for everyone. She still couldnt believe that she was do what Xavier was asking her to do. "Okay, fine. The Shrieking Shack sounds like a good place. I'm not an idiot though. I know that the place has to be protected. I will take care of it." Rolling her eyes, she walked past him towards the village road when a thought popped into her head. Maybe she shouldnt be seen walking around with a huge sword. Who knows if there was a Death Eater strolling around and saw her with Xavier's weapons?

"Once I've told all of you what Riddle's up to, you'll be pretty glad you didn't kill me right here and now."

Katia didnt think she would ever not regret killing him when she had the chance. She glanced back at him and walked back towards the church, passing by Xavier. "We'll see about that." She walked up the steps and said, "I will send a message to everyone telling them to meet us at the Shrieking Shack at midnight. I'm choosing to disapparate because who knows who is walking around the village at this time of night. Besides, we cant risk anyone seeing me with this." She motioned towards the sword, sure that Xavier would agree with her. She wasnt going to worry about how he was going to get there. He was a big boy...he could take care of himself. Katia nodded towards him and said, "Until then..." She walked towards the back of the church and disappeared.

"Okay, fine. The Shrieking Shack sounds like a good place. I'm not an idiot though. I know that the place has to be protected. I will take care of it."

Xavier merely nodded, glad they were getting somewhere now. The Shrieking Shack, eh? Not the nicest of places, but with the Order casting protective charms on it, it should do fine. Should being the key word of that sentence... But the Wraith realised that he was now getting paranoid. Perhaps he was taking after his late great-uncle? The Death Eaters had not been able to catch the Order off-guard at one of their meetings once; Xavier knew that better than anyone. The Obscurati had come closest, being the ones to attack Grimmauld Place #12 while the Order hadn't yet finished evacuating. Besides, the shack already had few entrances and no one knew that Xavier had betrayed Riddle. There was no point in worrying too much.

"I will send a message to everyone telling them to meet us at the Shrieking Shack at midnight. I'm choosing to disapparate because who knows who is walking around the village at this time of night. Besides, we cant risk anyone seeing me with this. Until then..."

"Good point," Xavier said, feeling stupid for having overlooked that slight problem. If a Death Eater spotted an Order-member carrying Xavier's katana, there would be trouble. He supposed he had just been expecting to be brought to the Order immediately, but they simply didn't meet as swiftly as the Death Eaters.

But whatever... All Xavier needed to do was lay low until midnight and then make his way to the shack. Without any further ado, the Wraith nodded at Katia and turned away. After a moment, however, he looked back. "Thanks..." Xavier muttered - it sounded like it was almost as hard to say for him as him joining the Order.

There was only silence. Katia had already gone.

With a rustling of his black robes, his white, ghostly hair moving in the wind, the Wraith disappeared into the darkness...
