"Thanks."

From the time Katia disappeared from the church to the second she arrived at the Shrieking Shack, that one word muttered from Xavier kept echoing in her mind. She was sure that not too many people in the world ever heard that word come from Xavier's mouth. He really shouldnt thank her yet though. Her part of the bargain hasnt happened yet. It wouldnt until the Order arrived here. Before entering the Shack, Katia put some protection enchantments all along the windows and doors. She's never done this before so she hoped that everything worked properly. She didnt even have these enchantments on her own house so she hoped this would do.

After leaving the small church outside of Hogsmeade, she went directly home so she could immediately send out an owl to everyone. Luckily, most of the members would be at Hogwarts so those owls had been easy enough to send. All she said in her owls was that the Order needed to know some important information about Riddle and to meet her here at midnight. Pretty vague but they should trust her. Right? She just hoped that everyone would be be able to make it here at midnight. After all the protection was provided on the place, she stepped inside. Katia didnt make it a habit to visit this place very often and there was a reason for that. This place looked like it would blow away with a good gust of wind. Luckily, there was no wind outside tonight. It was a perfectly clear night with a full moon. In fact, the full moon was the only thing providing light in the old place. Katia found it somewhat comforting, even though her stomach was in knots.

Was the Order going to kick her out after this? She could just picture Ralem being at the head of that pack. Most of the other members liked her, at least she thought so. She certainly had a respect for everyone in the group, even Ralem. Katia would never admit that but it was still the truth. Sighing, she found a seat on the creaking stairs and laid Xavier's sword across her lap. This thing had been hell to travel with. It was almost like it was reluctant to go anywhere with her. She knew it was silly but it was like it had feelings and thoughts like a human. Maybe she was going crazy. After the day she's had she wouldnt doubt it.

Katia ran her hand over the sheath of the sword. It was a beautiful weapon. Not many people had something like this to fight with. She could only imagine how many people fell to their death due to this thing. However, that didnt stop her from admiring it. When Xavier arrived, he would probably demand it back right away but she wasnt giving it up until he told them about whatever Riddle was up to. Hopefully it would be good and then he could his little sword back. Sighing once again, she propped her elbow on her knee and put her chin in her hand...waiting for the rest of the Order to arrive....

The floor creaked as Xavier found a way inside of the Shrieking Shack. He could feel a slight tingling in the air just after crossing the threshold... He supposed that whatever enchantments had been cast on the place just now, made an exception for him. And the Order-members, of course. The Wraith's dark brown eyes took in the shadowy surroundings... It appeared as empty as ever. He had arrived quite early, but the odds of him being the first one here seemed rather slim.

Xavier had to admit, he'd been quite on edge in those few hours since he met with Katia. Losing his sword was one thing, but any witch or wizard would feel vulnerable without their wand. Still, Xavier had dealt with situations like that before and he didn't need magic all the time to take care of himself - but losing both your weapons in the magical world just after betraying the most powerful wizard of all time...

Most people would freak out, he supposed.

As he moved quietly through the hall, Xavier tried to picture the faces of the Order-members once they spotted him. He wouldn't be surprised at all if a few curses came his way, but he didn't care. The fact that he had already humbled himself in front of Katia and given up his wand and the Shikyoken proved that he was adamant about speaking with Dumbledore's little legacy. That reminded him that he was a member of that Phoenix-lot now too... Sigh...

With a terrible groan, the door opened and Xavier stepped through. "Evening, Katia," he stated with a small smirk. Not even he might've spotted her in the darkness, sitting on one of the stairs, but his eyes had adjusted to the lack of light. He made his way over to the wall across Katia and leant against it. Xavier brushed some of the long, white hair out of his face and glanced at the black, sheathed katana. He could almost feel the excitement of the enchanted blade to be in the presence of it's master once more, but he did not move to ask for his weapons back. There was no point; even if Katia trusted him, the rest of the Order would not permit any weapon on Xavier for this meeting.

Just then, Xavier turned his head to the left. He could hear others approaching. "Looks like we've got company..."

Ralem had received the owl, along with the others. It was very...nondescript. But what could she do? As much as Katia got on Ralem's nerves quite often, she was still a valuable member of the Order, and part of her also recognized some respect for her. Not many people were brave enough to stand up to Voldemort, or try to lie to him for that matter. But besides that, Ralem allowed herself to trust Katia. She had to.

But the owl irked her. More information please? Or maybe it was something that had to be explained from the start. That, and Katia could be in danger. Either way, she moved as quickly as possible. Her classes had been done for the day, and she had little to do. Not that that would have stopped her. She would have just canceled anything she might have needed to do.

Hogsmeade wasn't far away from Hogwarts either. So that didn't cause any problem for her. As she was making her way up towards the shrieking shack, her mind reeled from the possibilities of what this meeting was about. There was no light in the shack though, and no sign of movement. Well, maybe she was the first to show up? Or maybe it was an ambush?

Lem pulled out her wand and walked slowly across the thawing grass. The days were getting warmer, the ground softer and cleared of snow. Even during the night, Lem could smell the grass. The fresh scent that drove anyone into a spring craze.

That smell soon disappeared though as she entered the shack and a new, musty kind of smell enveloped her. She was making her way towards the room with the door propped open. Adjusting her eyes so that she could use their hawk-form, she zoomed in on a figure sitting down, something lying on their lap. The room was too dark, the only source of light came from the moon that sparingly beamed through the windows. Hawks were not meant to hunt at night. It bothered Lem that she couldn't see any better.

There was another figure too. More..manly. The sitting figure must've been a woman, probably Katia. This man though...Lem didn't like this. She slowly made her way forward before stopping in the doorway. She used her wand to move an old coat hanger to the center of the room and muttered an enchantment under her breath. In a split second, the wooden coat hanger was enveloped in bright green "faux" flames. They wouldn't harm anyone, or anything. They just provided light. It was when the flames lit up the room that Lem realized who the man was.

Her arm twitched, ready to strike, until she had noticed that there was nothing in his hands. Slightly less ready to attack, she entered the room, staring at Xavier Moody. Oh how she didn't like this man. She had duelled him before, never had she figured out who had come out on top though. They never really finished.

Lem's gaze jumped to the item on Katia's lap. It looked like Xavier's sword... If Katia had his sword, then it was only safe to assume she had disarmed him completely. Still, Lem was on her toes, not ready to fully relax. She probably wouldn't during this meeting.

"This better be good," she said simply in a stony cold tone. She wasn't ready to trust Xavier. A lot of people probably weren't. Not with his reputation. Not with knowing what he has done. Damn. Couldn't Katia have found a less...drastic...ally?

The message from Katia had been rather vague, but Caelestis was the type of guy to rush into action when a friend (and Order-member) contacted him. It wasn't being reckless: the letter didn't seem to have been tampered with and if it was a trap, well... How else was he supposed to find out if it was one?

And so, abandoning the essays his seventh-years had to write about advanced duelling tactics, Cael grabbed his infamous red coat and made his way out of the castle swiftly and quietly. He ran into Sam in the Entrance Hall and they left the school grounds together. Though Caelestis could easily spot that same enthusiasm in her eyes, she seemed to be a little more quiet than usual. Perhaps Sam felt it aswell, though they didn't discuss it... That ominous feeling that sent a shiver down Cael's spine. He couldn't really explain it. As they left the road leading up to Hogwarts Castle, Cael quickly considered the possibilities. Katia would not have sent that message for anything unless it was extremely important...

But why?

After several minutes that seemed to pass in no time at all, Caelestis and Samantha arrived at the Shrieking Shack. Before entering, he glanced around to make sure no one 'unpleasant' had followed them. Considering the darkness, that didn't really help, so instead, he sensed carefully... No... No one else nearby yet, except for the people that were already inside the building. It was hard to say because of the enchantments that had been placed upon the shack, but someone was there. Motioning for Sam to stay behind him just in case, Cael entered.

The two of them made their way through the old, decrepit place. Cael heard movement now and as he pushed a door open, he was just in time to see a familiar figure... set a coathanger on fire? But it was only to serve as illumination, it seemed... The faces he saw in the light of the green flames shocked Caelestis far more than anything Ralem could've done.

"Xavier." By reflex, Cael had drawn one of his wands from the pocket of his coat and pointed it straight at his cousin. The fire was reflected eerily in his dark eyes and with his tall frame and long, white hair made him look even more menacing than usual. But he seemed suspiciously empty handed... There was no sword at his side, nor had he drawn a wand either. Caelestis glanced at the fifth person in the room. Katia. She seemed fine and, surprisingly, she held the sheathed katana that had so greavously injured Cael only two years ago. He then turned to the Wraith once more.

"It's been quite a while... I think you and Katia have some explaining to do."

When her father opened the door in the hallway, Samantha was half-expecting curses to fly past her head immediately. There had seemed something odd about this meeting and Sam couldn't help but be reminded of the time that Mircea had tricked the Order into meeting with him. As the green light illuminated the scene, she mistakenly thought of the Killing Curse and whipped her wand out at the same time her Dad did. But it wasn't a Killing Curse and everyone in the room was looking at someone...

"You!" Samantha stated angrily at the sight of Xavier Moody. "What's he doing here?!" Her emerald eyes nearly seemed as fiery as the coathanger that Ralem had used. Sam's grip on her wand tightened as she kept it trained at the Wraith. She spotted Katia from the corner of her eyes, but all her focus was still on Xavier. Samantha hadn't even noticed that he was unarmed and even if she had, it might not even have mattered at that moment; this man had been the cause of so much trouble, not just to the Order of the Phoenix, the Ministry or the world at large, but to her personally aswell. Xavier, Erica, Adam... Those three were some of Sam's most despised individuals. She had been captured by them once and tortured and Xavier had nearly killed her father (on multiple occasions).

However, what Samantha hated the most were their attempts to turn her to their side. It was true that she had read from the Book of Wyrm and learned about the Dark Arts; hell, during Adam's short tenure as an Order-member, she had even made use of his offer to train her. But Sam was not like them and she knew the threat someone like Xavier posed... Her wand twitched slightly at the thought of cursing him into a million slimy pieces.

"This better be good."

"Xavier. It's been quite a while... I think you and Katia have some explaining to do."

Lem's and her father's words seemed to be coming from a great distance to Sam. But when they finally got through to her, she calmed down, slightly. For a moment, her anger for Xavier and his kind had distracted Samantha from what this really was about. She now looked at Katia, but kept her wand aimed right at the Wraith's heart. Had Katia made some sort of deal with Xavier - or, wait - had she captured him? She had his sword with her... Samantha remained tense and quiet as she waited for the answers.

Faces in Disguise

Things had been pretty quiet for Aiode since she last heard from the Order. Well with the odd bit of trouble with the kids who had come back for a visit for a month and the whole drama that seemed to surround Dayla at the moment. Then of course there was Evan who seemed about the only stable thing in the family at the moment. Moving up north to take over his family birth right and Caleb was still up at the castle which made her have to deal with everything herself. Yet all the faimily stuff on top of the full time job that she had slowly eased herself back into after her slight breakdown was keeping her mind off everything that she had often thought of when her focus was on Order business. But one night after putting Ismey and the twins to bed while Dayla tackled both Sabrina and Rhys that was when she saw the owl perched on the window sill in her room. It had taken her a while to realise it wasn't from Caleb but when she did it was like th weight was back on her shoulders again in force.

Pulling on her nearest set of robes over her home outfit of jeans and an old baggy and faded Rolling stone shirt, pushing her feet into some battered doc martens she pushed the letter into the pocket as she ran down the staircases. She'd managed to catch Dayla before she was on her way to bed and asked her to watch over the house, which her daughter had agreed to without much argument. She seemed to have become more willing to please than she used to. Whatever it was that was hurting her definitely had made her attitude change. Pulling her hair into a sideways ponytail she ran down the path, waiting til she reached the nearest alley before apparating to Hogsmeade. She then managed to make it to the Shrieking shack in record timing just in time to see Cael draw his wand and say the very last word she'd expected him to say in an order meeting.

"Xavier."

She paled even more than normal as she spotted the named male leaning against the wall. It took a while for her eyes to adjust to the uneven lighting and she nearly jumped out of her skin when Ralem and Cael spoke again.

"This better be good."

"Xavier. It's been quite a while... I think you and Katia have some explaining to do."

The redhead bit her lip as she silently edged into the room, casting apologetic looks as she leaned against the wall in a corner, sliding to the floor and crossing her legs. She pulled her robes tigher around her and continued to worry her lip between her teeth as she took in the rest of the scene, yet there was definitely one aspect that was a relief. Katia had Xavier's sword. That had to be a good thing.....right? Xavier had to be here for a reason that didn't involve slashing or cursing everyone in the room to pieces.

Things had been a bit busy in the Bureau of Accidents and Magical Creatures. Just recently they had a busted a house were some loony had done experiments on different animals creating inside out nifflers, eleven eyed newts, six headed gryphons and miniature chimeras just to name a few. Mercury had been busy in his office trying to sort out what the hell they should do with these creatures when he heard a tap on his window. He turned around surprised and let the owl in. The bird flew in, dropped a letter on his desk, and flew out again. Pepper gave him an excited look as Mercury opened the letter. It was from Katia and it was asking for an Order meeting. Apparently she managed to find something out. About time! Jesus, Mercury was beginning to get stir crazy with the lack of activity from both Riddle and the Order.

It wasn't simply because he missed his fellow Order members (because in some odd way the Order was also a rather important socializing club), but also because he hated doing nothing. They knew Riddle was out there and they knew he was most likely getting ready to cause trouble so why were they sitting on their asses doing nothing about it? He supposed it was because they didn't have any leads but God couldn't they go out and find some? They knew most of the Death Eaters and he was sure the filth of the wizarding world knew where Riddle was hiding or at least had a vague idea what he was up to? Couldn't they put the squeeze on them or something? Like the bad cops did in those stupid action muggle movies? Maybe that was what Katia did. Is that why she called the meeting? Because she got someone to sing? Or was it the other way around and she had become the canary?

There was something about the vagueness of the letter that put him on edge, but then again did he really expect Katia to explain everything in a letter? What if the letter had been intercepted? Besides Katia had been a loyal and valuable member to the Order. There was no reason to think she was trying to backstab them or something and the last time someone tried to trick them the owl had been anonymous. So, Mercury quickly threw on his robe and grabbed onto Pepper who burst into flames as she 'bamfed' him right outside the Shrieking Shack.

"Can't you travel without the flames?" he asked the phoenix as he checked to make sure his body was intact and not burning.
Pepper just gave him an annoyed look.
"What? Excuse me if I don't like the idea of burning to death," he said as he walked towards the dark and musky shack. The shack itself was uninviting and looked like it should have been condemned. Wonderful place to set up a meeting. He couldn't see any ights but that may have been because there was so much filth on the remaining windows that it simply didn't show. Okay that was kind disgusting. Pepper gave him a warning type of squeak and Mercury slowly drew out his wand as he opened the door.

At first he didn't see anything except a bunch of dark masses but he comforted himself by that fact that if these guys really were Death Eaters than he would have been dead the moment he opened the door. He stepped inside and closed the door as his eyes slowly adjusted to the dark. Thankfully Ralem had been smart enough to set a coat hanger on fire. See even everyday objects were making sacrifices for the cause. Way to go household items. Mercury just rolled his eyes as he scanned the room. The first thing that caught his eyes was-XAVIER!!! Shit! Mercury aimed his wand at Xavier and was about to jinx the asshole when Pepper gave him a rather painful peck on the hand.
"What the hell was that for?" he asked the bird annoyed.
She jerked her head at Katia's lap. Apparently the bird could see in the dark, for Mercury didn't even know Katia was there. Mercury turned to face the vampire and saw Xavier's sword on her lap. What the fuck? He looked at Xavier again and saw that the Wratih wasn't hurt at all. In fact it looked like he was here on purpose. All right he was just confused.
"What the hell is going on?" he asked as Cael and Ralem asked their questions.

Their voices nearly caused him to jump. How many people did they have in here? All right there was Ralem, Cael, Sam, and…someone huddled in the corner. Great, even with Ralem's light it was hard to see. But it wasn't like they could add more light and they couldn't make Ralem's light brighter. They didn't want anyone to know that they were having a meeting in here. Although he supposed they could always make spooking noises and try to convince the villagers that there were ghosts in the shack (not that they needed convincing). Mercury tried not to laugh as he imagined Xavier making 'spooky' noises. All right, Merc, focus. Obviously this was serious otherwise they wouldn't be here with Xavier.

Mercury didn't point his wand at Xavier but he kept it by his side-just in case. He stood next to Sam, glad that the girl still had her wand trained on the damn Wraith, and waited for Xavier and Katia try to explain themselves and it better be more than a simple "We just wanted to say hi."

Self-Appointed Martyr

Manfred had been falling asleep on his large stack of notes when he heard an owl tap on his window. At first he ignored the sound as he was so tired, but it was hard to ignore Equus' booming barks. With a groan, he rose from his desk and opened the window. The owl flew in (as Equus chased it and tried to catch it), dropped a letter on his desk, and flew out of the room (as Equus let out a disappointed whimper).
"Next time boy," he said scratching the dog's ear.
He slowly walked towards the desk (although his sleepiness was being replaced with curiosity). Who would send him a letter at 11:50 at night? He took a long pointed dagger of a letter opener and cut the ribbon tying the letter together. He watched a single piece of parchment fall onto his mahogany desk. He used the letter opened to turn it over and saw that it was an Order member being called by none other than that vampire he had met a few days ago. Ah, interesting. She was an Order member too? Or she was just trying to bait him so she could bite him.

See that was the problem with never having gone to an Order meeting before. He had no idea who was a legitimate member and who wasn't. Unfortunately, by the time Alexei had convinced him to join the secret organization Riddle had gone silent and there hadn't been a meeting ever since. Well here was the time to meet the rest of the gang...or test out his vampire hunting skills. Oh joy. Manfred rubbed his eyes with a sigh and pulled a cord repeatedly until a tired looking maid walked in.
"I need an energy potion, Greta."
The woman just grumbled under her breath about being woken up just so the master could ruin his health as she stomped out of the room. Manfred just smirked as Equus placed his wet nose against Manfred's hand.
"Not today, Equus. Tomorrow."
The dog hung its head and walked back to his bed by the fireplace. The maid quickly returned with the potion which Manfred gulped down, he threw on a coat, made sure his wand was in his pocket, and used floo powder to poof out of the house.

After appearing in the closed Hogs Head, quietly slipping out of the pub before the owner knew, and getting lost a few times, he queasily stood outside what the English wizards called the Shrieking Shack. There had to be a better way to travel than this. He supposed a few gifted would have flown here, but Manfred didn't trust himself on a broom as it had been a while since he flown. If one was flying across countries than one would want to make sure they could stay on that broom for hours. But God he hated traveling by floo powder.

Manfred looked at the sad excuse of a shack and wondered if he was at the right place. Well considering that a vampire scheduled this little meeting...He walked up the creaky steps and slowly and quietly opened the door. It was rather dark, even though there was a flaming...coat hanger? He wasn't going to comment on that. He silently closed the door and stood between the left side of the door (not the side where he'd get hit in the door opened) and the window. Once his eyes adjusted to the dark he tried to get a better idea of what his fellow Order members looked like.

However the first figure that caught his sight was a tall, muscular, white haired man. Manfred had never met this man before but after spending six months interrogating and spying on the dark wizards and witches of the wizarding world he knew who this man was. Xavier Moody. Supposedly the Wraith was one of the best wizards out there. Well Manfred would believe it when he saw it. He noticed that no one was happy that he was here and a few even had their wands pointed at the Wraith. Manfred didn't blame them. But he also noticed that the man was weaponless and the letter had said they had some things to discuss. Was the Wraith here to give out information? Only one way to find out...

His attention was redirected as a bunch of Order members spoke. One, the female with the burning coat hanger sounded grudgingly willing to listen, the other one (must have been Cael Moody because even in this light Manfred could see his signature red trench coat) sounded curious but defensively so, and the guy with the phoenix (which was just awesome) sounded confused. Apparently the phoenix was the brains of the operation as he just sounded clueless. He must have been the idiot of the group. But there were others. Between the idiot and Cael was a girl who looked nearly the same age as Manfred. Then there was Katia sitting on the steps with a sword on her lap. Manfred gave her a faint acknowledging smile before he looked around the room for more members. In the corner was a huddled red head and that was it. So this was the group that planned to defeat Riddle? Maybe the wizarding world really was doomed.

Caedmon was one of the last to approach the Shrieking Shack. Not because he had received the message latest, but because he didn't want to take any precautions; seconds after the owl took off, the Professor rushed to open a drawer in his desk. Easier said than done, of course, because of all the defensive spells he'd placed upon it, but he managed to withdraw what he was looking for eventually. The Elder Wand. Caedmon hadn't used it once since they had established that he nor Mercury (who'd killed Mircea, it's previous owner, who in turn had taken it from Voldemort) were it's rightful master. Still, after the last Order-meeting, it had been kept safe in his charge.

He had quickly put on his coat, placed the sleak, slender box containing the wand in his pocket and had left his office. Caed just didn't feel safe leaving the thing lying there. The Professor was in such a hurry to make his way to the meeting place that he didn't wonder what this was all about until he stood at the shack's door. Perhaps Caedmon had gotten so used to being the one to give out the info and staying on top of things that he'd been taken completely by surprise by Katia's message. It must have been some discovery if she called an Order-meeting together on such short notice.

Just to be careful (Caed still remembered how Mircea had tricked them into meeting with him), he pulled his wand and kept his wits about him. There was a green light coming through an opened door up ahead and soon, Caedmon had entered the room where Ralem, Caelestis, Samantha, Aiode, Mercury and a new member were standing. When he started wondering what they were all so tense for, Caed's eyes fell on Katia and - Xavier.

"Sorry I'm late. Did I miss anything?" He asked tentatively, looking from one Order-member to the other until finally settling on Katia. The others seemed to be waiting for an answer too.

((OOC: Alright, if any other Order-member wants to join, you can pretend they've been there now ^_^ ))

It didnt take long for the others to arrive. First was Xavier. She knew he would be right behind her. It just made sense that he would be here before anyone else. After all, he was the one who wanted this meeting. She ignored his greeting and annoying smirk and focused on how she was going to greet the rest of the Order members. If she didnt have this sword in her lap, she would be pacing the creaky floors right now.

Next came Ralem, who always had to make a dramatic entrance at every Order meeting. Katia couldnt help but wince at the bright light she provided with the coat hanger. Right away she could tell this was going to be an extremely fun meeting. Of course, Katia didnt expect any different. Cael's response made her feel like she was being talked to like a child. This caused her to sit up straighter. She knew he had every reason to be suspicious but she would never do this without a good enough reason. The rest of the members had the same adverse reaction to Xavier being there and she couldnt blame them. She didnt like him being here anymore than anyone else did.

Once everyone was inside, Katia cleared her throat. Looking at everyone, she said, "Thank you all for coming on such short notice. I realize my letter was a bit vague so I appreciate you guys making this trip." She stole a quick glance at Xavier, not really sure what she expected him to say to everyone so she decided to wing it. "Earlier tonight Xavier asked to meet with me to say that he has some very interesting news about what Riddle has been up to and what he has planned for the future. I know that we have no reason to trust Xavier or what he has to say and I dont really blame you. He hasnt said much to me because he wanted to wait until we were all together."

She stood up slowly and carefully positioned the sword pointing down on the floor. She could only imagine how much her having the sword was bothering Xavier but she didnt really care at the moment. He has put her in a very uncomfortable position so she was going to milk this for all it's worth. "As you can see, I have temporary custody of his sword and his wand." She pulled his wand from her pocket to show everyone. "So, I figured if he was willing to temporarily hand over his weapons in order to meet with us then maybe he's got something that we really need."

"Oh and there's one more thing..." She glared at Xavier as she announced, "He has chosen to become an Order member Isnt that right, Xavier?" She still wasnt too sure about that because this was Xavier Moody they were talking about. He's tried being an ally before and look how well that worked out. Now, all she had to do was wait to see what he had to say and wait for the other Order members to pounce on him...This was going to be so much fun....

Xavier could make out that the shadowy figure of the first Order-member to enter room was a woman's. Her wand moved and a second later, the shack was bathing in a ghostly green light. The Wraith blinked and as his eyes adjusted (the source of the illumination being pretty close to his face), his suspicions confirmed: Tarendeau was the first to arrive. He would've smirked, had the circumstances not been as grim. The last time he'd seen her was when the Obscurati struck at Hogwarts... It had been a rather amusing duel, but they'd had to cut it short. Nonetheless, there was a slight glitter of malice as Xavier's eyes met hers for a brief moment. Ralem's reaction was exactly what he'd expected.

After her came Caelestis and his daughter. Despite Xavier being unarmed and dear little Sammie being well-capable of cursing him into next week, this time, he couldn't help but grin for a moment. He exchanged a more serious glance with Cael, but decided not to speak; the Order would feel better if Katia did the talking first. The rest came shortly afterwards and the ones that the Wraith knew all voiced their shock and concern, finishing with Caedmon Darke.

Xavier stopped leaning against the wall and looked around the room. It was time to get this started. He shifted his weight from one foot to the other and listened as Katia did her say.

"As you can see, I have temporary custody of his sword and his wand. So, I figured if he was willing to temporarily hand over his weapons in order to meet with us then maybe he's got something that we really need. Oh and there's one more thing... He has chosen to become an Order member Isnt that right, Xavier?"

Dear God, Xavier swore that woman would be the end of him one day... As annoying as it was for her to walk around carrying his katana and his wand, it was nothing compared to that last bit. Xavier the Order-member... The way Katia said it made it all sound even worse than it was. The Wraith's gaze met Katia's as she looked at him, dislike all over his face. But whatever... It was him that had told her to set up this meeting, so he wasn't going to complain. Xavier took a step forward and finally spoke aswell.

"As distasteful as it may sound - yes. I have decided to join the Order," he said, placing his hands in his pockets and slowly pacing the room. "I believe that Riddle has become a threat to all of us, not just his enemies. He has become more powerful than you know... For the past few months, I have been trying to learn what he has planned. Recently, I discovered something and I feared that everything might be lost if I didn't join forces with you."

Xavier briefly paused. He wanted to tell the Order everything, but he knew how their minds worked... They were going to make a big fuss about his loyalties first, no matter how much he explained, so perhaps it was best to wait with the big news until they were all ready to listen to him. "There are quite a few things that I can tell you... So how about a little freebie first?"

"Did you know that, at this very moment, the Ministry of Magic is already under Riddle's complete control?"

The Wraith folded his arms again and waited for their reaction. It was likely the Order already suspected something, but they had no way of knowing that for sure. Xavier looked around the group... Now, which one was going to object to this whole meeting first?

Others began to pile in. They had all received the message. Whatever it was, Cael wasn't exactly going to stand his guard down. He didn't look too happy, but he had noticed the lack of weapons in Xavier's hands. Hopefully Cael wouldn't go blasting off his cousin's head before he told them something good. Well, at least, Lem assumed he was here to share information. Why else would he be? Unless he had a death wish?

Lem had noticed a young figure walk in, around the age of dear Sam who had come in with her father. This young man...he was here. She had never seen him before. And yet, he was in an Order meeting. Was this right?

"Who the hell are you?" She blurted. Ok. Maybe that had been a tad insulting. But really. When did they start recruiting people on the way to meetings. And if so, who had recruited this...puppy. He didn't look like one, but to Lem, anyone who was young and hadn't proven themselves to her...well, they were puppies.

Lem was going to continue, but then Katia began to speak.

"Thank you all for coming on such short notice. I realize my letter was a bit vague so I appreciate you guys making this trip. Earlier tonight Xavier asked to meet with me to say that he has some very interesting news about what Riddle has been up to and what he has planned for the future. I know that we have no reason to trust Xavier or what he has to say and I dont really blame you. He hasnt said much to me because he wanted to wait until we were all together."

"As you can see, I have temporary custody of his sword and his wand. So, I figured if he was willing to temporarily hand over his weapons in order to meet with us then maybe he's got something that we really need."

"Oh and there's one more thing...He has chosen to become an Order member Isnt that right, Xavier?"

If Ralem had been drinking something, it would have surely gone up her nose at the last bit. She wasn't surprised that Xavier had something for them. Didn't it always work that way? They wanted information, the bad guy would give it to them for a price? Often enough, right?

Lem's eyes fell in contact with Xavier's. Was he serious? Did he think that they would let him in with open arms and kisses. He was evil after all. He had done horrible things. Yet, it seemed, he was ready to throw it all away? Or did he want to join the Order because of something else? Perhaps protection? Xavier was a very skilled duelist though. He didn't need protection. But maybe, Xavier wanted a side? Maybe he'd been rejected? Was pride the major role in this?

Ralem was asking herself to many questions. She was delving too deep into a psychological view. She needed to step back and realize that this could just be a trap. Though, Lem was pretty sure Xavier wasn't stupid enough to try that on them now.

Lem's gaze moved across Xavier's face, her own lips twitching into a sneer. This was just precious. Why weren't they killing him right now? He was defenseless after all. That was one of the things that bothered Lem. Xavier wasn't stupid. He wasn't a lunatic...well...with his own life. If he was willing to give his defenses up, then maybe what he had to say was truly important?

"As distasteful as it may sound - yes. I have decided to join the Order, I believe that Riddle has become a threat to all of us, not just his enemies. He has become more powerful than you know... For the past few months, I have been trying to learn what he has planned. Recently, I discovered something and I feared that everything might be lost if I didn't join forces with you."

Lem had the urge to hit him with a snide remark. Who here wouldn't. After all, he was asking them for a type of trust one earns through deeds. His deeds have been nothing of the type she wanted to see. And honestly, anyone could have figured that Riddle was brewing something. He was, after all, on the low. This meant he was plotting.

"There are quite a few things that I can tell you... So how about a little freebie first?"

"Did you know that, at this very moment, the Ministry of Magic is already under Riddle's complete control?"

Lem almost laughed. She could have guessed. That row she had had with the Minister that lost her her job (well, she quit), it all made sense. That stupid attack on Riddle's base that was empty. Merlin. She should have seen it.

"Imperius? Or bribery?" Lem was pissed now. No Minister should ever fall to the hands of an evil power. In any way. This only killed what little faith she had left in the Minister. It was time to get rid of that old git. The disgusting liar! The Order would need to discuss this later.

"You said freebie. So tell me, Xavier, what the hell do you want from us? We can't give you anything. You don't need our protection, you're perfectly capable. So what is it? What do we need to do for you to give us this "oh so dire" news? I'm beginning to wonder why all the bad guys try to barter with our fates? Why can't you just be a good man and tell us? Because, honestly, if it's trust you want, you're not going to get it."

Lem glanced at Cael. He was most likely going to add some more to Lem's little speech. But, she expected him, like always, to be a little more level-headed about it.

As Mercury stood there, waiting for either Katia or Xavier to explain themselves, he had to resist the urge to use his wand and jinx Xavier until the cows came home. Mercury could feel the wooden handle of his wand in his finger tips and he knew it'd just take one quick motion and the Wraith would get what he deserved. But he controlled himself. Apparently Xavier had some earth shattering news that they just had to hear. He wondered if they could jinx the bastard after this lovely little chat.

Mercury normally wasn't a hateful person and this was hatred per say. This was just frustration, furstration with the damn Death Eaters running around thinking they can ruin everything just because it was fun, frustration with Riddle come back from the dead and trying this shit all over again, frustration with Xavier thinking that he could just call them together, spread his little bullshit around, and back stab them whenever he saw fit, and frustration with the fact that nothing ever changed. The Wraith had contacted them before like this and he had wanted an alliance back then. He probably wanted the same thing this time and they would give it to them because they wanted to defeat the latest threat. Then a new asshole would take over and it'd be the same shit all over again. It just never seemed to end. But that came with being an Order member. They always had to be ready to deal with the latest bullshit.

Katia was the first to talk. Personally, he liked the vampire. True, they never had actually the time to hang out so he couldn't say anything her socially...or personally really, but he knew she was a tough fighter and she was loyal. The one thing no one could say about Katia (although some people tried) was that she was traitor or that she was a coward. The only problem with Katia was that she hung out with some...questionable people like Xavier. Still in some ways it was probably a good thing that they had one Order member who didn't mind blending the lines a little. There were times when the Order members (especially Mercury) saw things a little too black and white and he sometimes wondered if that hurt them more than it helped. Mercury listened to Katia, hoping it would shed some light on this confusing situation, but it didn't. Instead it kind of told them what they could have figured out by themselves. Xavier had information and he wanted to make a deal. Great.

"As you can see, I have temporary custody of his sword and his wand. So, I figured if he was willing to temporarily hand over his weapons in order to meet with us then maybe he's got something that we really need."

In some ways Mercury wished Katia had more to go on then simply, "Well Xavier wanted to meet with us so I called this meeting and look at this wicked sword!" It'd just make this meeting a bit...more relaxed maybe? Well maybe not relaxed but it'd make Mercury feel better. But she made an interesting point. If Xavier willingfully gave Katia his wand and sword than he must have really important information...but what would cause Xavier to run to them and volunteering give his weapons up? The idea was unsettling and Mercury really had no idea what to make of it.

"Oh and there's one more thing...He has chosen to become an Order member Isnt that right, Xavier?"

"As distasteful as it may sound - yes. I have decided to join the Order. I believe that Riddle has become a threat to all of us, not just his enemies. He has become more powerful than you know... For the past few months, I have been trying to learn what he has planned. Recently, I discovered something and I feared that everything might be lost if I didn't join forces with you."

At Katia's words, Mercury actually laughed. Xavier wanted to join the Order. Now that was a good one.
"Yeah, right and I'm the world's smartest man," he said shaking his head.
So this meeting was all one big practical joke. Who knew the Wraith had a sense of humor? But when Xavier spoke it was obvious he was serious. Wait. What? Xavier actually wanted to join the Order of the Phoenix? Had the world gone mad?
"You're not joking are you? You actually want to join?"
Mercury just couldn't believe it. Xavier? Jesus Christ, just when Mercury thought the world couldn't get any weirder.

But if Xavier really was serious...that meant, he wanted in? They were supposed to let him join? That was almost as funny as the idea of Xavier wanting to join. But they weren't going to let him join... were they? That two-faced, backstabbing, snake? They were going to let him in their little group? Yeah right.
"And what? You think we're just going to welcome you in with arms wide open? Or is that how the deal's supposed to work? You give us some bullshit and we label you a member, is that it?"
Well that wasn't good enough for Mercury and he was pretty sure it wasn't good enough for the other members either. God damn bastard. Who the hell did he was think he was, calling them all together, and bribing them with information just so he could backstab them in the end? Bastard.
"I think we're going to need a little more than information before we even consider the idea of letting you join."
Maybe he was speaking out of place here, but he didn't really give a damn. He was just so damn tired of being fucked over by pricks.

"Did you know that, at this very moment, the Ministry of Magic is already under Riddle's complete control?"

Although that one was a bit of a no brainer it was still kind of unsettling-especially since Mercury practically lived at the ministry. It was his second home and the idea that Riddle had 'poisoned' it just made his blood burn. God damn it! When Mercury got back to the office he was so going to kick some ass. He wasn't sure whose ass he'd kicked. It'd probably be whoever he saw first. Poor random person.

Quite frankly Mercury was so relieved that one of the 'higher ups' also wanted to beat Xavier to a pulp. And Ralem really hit it on the head. What did Xavier want from them? Besides being a member. That was probably only a cover for what Xavier really wanted. Because seriously the day Xavier ever truly wanted to be an Order member was the day everyone stopped killing each other and just learned to love.

"As you can see, I have temporary custody of his sword and his wand. So, I figured if he was willing to temporarily hand over his weapons in order to meet with us then maybe he's got something that we really need."

As Katia explained, Caelestis supposed he should've known from the moment he'd seen Xavier standing there. Really, why did his mind work so slow in situations like these - he knew what kind of person his cousin was. Xavier was a smart man, but also a risk-taker; willing to make sacrifices and gain by cunning what he couldn't achieve by force. Still... As Cael's emerald eyes pierced Xavier's dark ones, desperately trying to discern what he was thinking, he couldn't help but conclude that he'd sunk rather low this time... For his standards at least. As far as Caelestis knew, Xavier had never willingly given up his weapons, although...

Cael's eyes narrowed. He was reminded of the time that he had held Xavier at wand-point during a duel and demanded him to give up. Xavier had complied, but he'd actually let himself drop to the ground and caught the wand before it hit the floor and shot Cael in the foot. Although a part of him wanted to believe that Xavier was being sincere, Cael thought they had no choice but to be extremely careful around him, no matter what he said... But just as Caelestis tried to wrap his head around the fact that Xavier was offering the Order his help again, Katia went on...

Uhmmmm.... What? Cael was so surprised, he lowered his wand. Xavier actually wanted to join them? He listened intently to what his cousin had to say and realised that this really had to be something serious... Unless, of course, Xavier was here on Voldemort's orders. He could be quite the actor when he needed to be. And yet, something was nagging at the back of Cael's head. He put his wand away, sighed and ran a hand through his blonde, spiky hair in an absent-minded manner. However, as he considered the situation, the others voiced their opinions.

"Yeah, right and I'm the world's smartest man. You're not joking are you? You actually want to join? And what? You think we're just going to welcome you in with arms wide open? Or is that how the deal's supposed to work? You give us some bullshit and we label you a member, is that it? I think we're going to need a little more than information before we even consider the idea of letting you join."

"There are quite a few things that I can tell you... So how about a little freebie first? Did you know that, at this very moment, the Ministry of Magic is already under Riddle's complete control?"

"Imperius? Or bribery? You said freebie.

Mercury was always one of the most honest Order-members out of the bunch and Cael didn't blame his reaction. Cael was sure he was saying exactly what everyone was thinking... Hell, he was thinking it. And then Xavier decided to reveal at least one bit of information; a cold feeling came over Caelestis as he realised what it meant... They'd been worrying for some time now, ever since the Death Eaters grew quiet and Scrimgeour started telling everyone there was nothing to worry anymore. But if Riddle really had his hands on the Ministry already, then they were in bigger trouble than they thought.

Finally, there was Ralem... But as she spoke, something suddenly clicked. What if... What if Xavier really was trying to tell them something and he honestly wanted to join their side? Cael briefly looked at the floor as he thought, trying to put himself in Xavier's shoes... Or boots or whatever. If Cael had been a evil, dangerous, back-stabbing Death Eater that, for some reason, had truly decided to turn on his master now, how would he have acted? He would've given them at least something without any strings attached to gain their - but it was that trust that was the problem...

Caelestis looked once more from Xavier to Ralem and the others. He was reminded of that day, so long ago... When he and a lot of his friends (including people like Lem) had stood in a dimly lit cavern, with their little student club, trying to decide if they could allow George Flowright to join them of all people. Cael had been the first to trust him and that trust had not been misplaced. It was true that Xavier had betrayed before, but... Something was different. And wasn't it that trait that Cael valued so much in himself? His belief in the goodness of others? He looked around the group once more and then - Cael took a step forward, placing himself between the group and Xavier.

"I'm not saying we should trust him... Not immediately. But I don't think Xavier would've gone to this length if he wasn't being serious. And maybe he doesn't want anything at all," Cael said, looking at Lem. "Maybe all he wants is that trust."

Cael then turned to his cousin again. "But you're going to have to give us more than that, Xavier."
