I think he just scared him with his unnatural ability to see into the future. Could be with the tone of voice used too. I don't have the book in front of me, but I think that's what happened.

Yep, when Vervain came down the run, Fiver was in a trance, all cold and seemingly half-dead. When Fiver saw Vervain, he started saying to him, "I am truly sorry for your death." He kept on like that, and scared the hraka out of Vervain, all without laying a paw on him. :lol:

He scared him off certainly, but in the end Vervain dissapeared when Campion tried to bring everyone back to Efrafa, wondered away from the group and they couldn't find him.

Fiver really lacks brawn but I suppose that dosn't mean he'll be bad at ruling a warren, just not better than Hazel.
