By what I've heard, yes. Easier to just stick with the film as far as animating WD.

To tell you the truth, I don't like the series at all. Season 1 didn't impress me that well, the only character who really seemed interesting was Woundwort. I began to respect what they did with Hazel, but when he decided to try and negotiate with Woundwort by literally going to his territory after hearing from Bigwig how dangerous the warren was, I just lost all hope in him as a whole. There's just a ton of things wrong this part, and they make it look stupid compared to how he did it in the book and movie. I will, however, admit that some of the episodes in season three were more interesting, but still lacked the charm. Despite how much I hate it, for some reason I still want the DVD's.

I'm really late to the party, but here is a link to a directory with the first 5 episodes of season one. It may not have all of them, but it should show you what the series is like.

Oh, and they pronounce El-ahrairah's name wrong, and Bigwig is a mutant mini lion. Yeah.

Sounds like Campion is under some hypnotic spell

He dies, meets the black rabbit of Inlé, comes back to life with a curse or something and some awesome looking scars, and now he takes everything more seriously.

I love the series, as much as the film. I didn't think it would be good when I found out about it, but I was serously wrong.
