Yeah, his mate is Vilthuril, one of Hyzenthlay's friends. While we're on the subject, did Bigwig ever have a mate? I should know since I read the books a couple months ago, but I don't remember.

He DID mention that he would like a doe... said something like: "imagine, Hazel my own doe with lots of little Bigwigs, imagine that and tremble" along those lines.

But no, it never mentioned him having a mate in either book.

I might as well put in for anyone who's interested, just because Hyzenthlay became a second chief does not mean that she became Hazels doe. She's just second in command that's all. They never mentioned mates for either of them. It's just that many people think this way.

Funny he'd say that, and then he never had a doe in the books. Maybe he was just too proud or something. :D

I still tend to think Hazel and Hyzenthlay are mates: I mean, who says they'd have to have kittens to be soulmates?

Vilthuril had a litter of four but only one of them was mentioned if I remember correctly, he was similar to his father Fiver in terms of visions and what not. His name was "Threar"

Throughout the whole book I noticed at least 2-3 spelling mistakes, if they're only in my copy I don't know. One I found on page 473, Vilthuril is telling a story to her young, at the bottom of the page it reads "So they all fled from it, but it turned into a great rat and flew at El-ahrairah. Then Al-ahrairah... Whoops :P

Actually on page 469 it mentions Hyzenthlays litter of four  ... I forgot about that. I don't think they're mentioned in the sequel though.

Hehe, we're editors! I once saw in a Dear America book where they wrote the wrong date: 1984 instead of 1894. :P That was a big goof!

LOL! That error isn't in my copy, and strangely it's not on page 473 either, it's more like page 477 or something. I think American editions are different somehow than what's over there. That's what I've heard anyway.
