I mean sheet music for "Bright Eyes", like with the lyrics and notes.

Even that would likely be hard to find considering that was a while ago and it nowhere near the pop songs like Disney put out in the 80s so I think it will be a challenge to find it. You could always try to work out the notes just using your trained ears too.

Yeah, that's usually what I do when I play tunes on my keyboard: I can't read notes anyway. I just thought it would be cool to have original sheet music for "Bright Eyes." If I knew how to read notes, and print them, I'd make my own sheet music.

I could guess, but I don't write music.
I can read it, but not write it.

I can do both too, but I prefer to just read notes or listen by ear and memorize. Of course I do this with singing, not piano |

Heh, singing...every time I have "Bright Eyes" stuck in my head, which is virtually all the time, I want to sing it out loud, but I don't. I'm too embarassed because I have a bad voice. I hum it sometimes, though.

I could sing it if I wanted to, but I often don't want to.
Just give me Karen Carpenter...and I'll go for those.

It means that it is sad to lose someone close, I always cry and get emotional at that scene. Those silhouettes of Fiver and Hazel mean that Fiver is either imagining the past years with Hazel or it means he is searching for Hazel. Then Hazel dies and is seen spinning around which means he is falling(*sniff*) and is lost from Fiver, The Image of Frith comes in which means he has gone into the afterlife. |

I sing it all the time. Especially lately. I've really been singing it a lot since we lost Flakey Cat. If you saw the picture I put up of him, you'd see why... He really DOES have bright eyes... and I watched him as they put him to sleep and his eyes closed... I suppose this song will forever be tied to Flake now, in my mind. But also, for some reason, it makes me feel better to sing it.
I haven't had time to read the whole essay yet, but I will either this evening or tomorrow morning. I look forward to it! |

Inle, it's pretty easy to read notes, actually... The four lines are: -------------F--------------------- ----------------A----------------- --------------------C------------- ------------------------E--------- Which spells face. That's how I remember it. And the spaces are:E _____________________________ G _____________________________ B _____________________________ D _____________________________ F _____________________________ Most people remember this with "Every Good Boy Does Fine", or something to that. Then you just have to learn the layouts of the keys on the keyboard (my mom originally wrote them out for me, but I think you can find a diagram online if you Google it), and bang! You're able to read and write music for the right hand. I can't remember the left hand right now, or I'd put it out, too. The lines and spaces are different for the left hand. |

*Smiles* I understand what you mean about the song relating to lost pets. Last year, when I released Storm(the cat who 'replaced' Sparkle)out of the house for the first time, she wandered off and disappeared. This was very close to when I first discovered WD, and so I had "Bright Eyes" running through my head. I remember going to the back yard, with those haunting words on my mind, and just crying my eyes out, I was so sure I'd lost another friend. Here's her page: Storm But that evening, when it was dark outside, Storm came home, and all was well. Now, the song still reminds me of my pets: they all have bright, expressive eyes, especially Shadow. The song is very versatile for me: depending on my mood, it can make me anything from melancholic to contemplative to euphoric. The words are so touching.Gah, notes! That still wouldn't help me if I were looking at notes in a songbook, since I don't think they're labeled with letters. |

I never became very involved with a keyboard...last time I actually played one was back in the fifth grade. My sisters can play one with relative ease...and sing too. |

*laughs* They aren't labled with letters, but where the letters are in my diagram tell you what the note in those places IS. That's what I meant. And here's a diagram of how the keys are laid out on a piano. I won't go into sharps and flats (the black keys), because I didn't learn them well enough. But take a look:![]() That shows you the names of the notes on the keyboard, and underneath them where they show up in sheet music.
