!!!!!@@@@@@!!!!!!HURON VALLEY WRESTLING!!!!!@@@@@@!!!!!! NEWSLETTER NOVEMBER 2nd, 2005 !!!!!@@@@@@!!!!!!HURON VALLEY WRESTLING!!!!!@@@@@@!!!!!! 0. OOC Note 1. Newsbites 2. Roster 3. Injured List 4. Stables 5. HVW Saturday Night !!!!!@@@@@@!!!!!!HURON VALLEY WRESTLING!!!!!@@@@@@!!!!!! I have decided that I am going to run Do or Die differently, for a number of reasons. My plan is to release the card one match at a time, in order to give people the chance to RP as the show progresses and strat accordingly since several of you will probably wind up pulling double or triple duty, and with this kind of fed it isn't fair to force you into all- encompassing gigantic strats. This would be especially unfair for the guys in the singles-title matches, if those characters are selected to compete earlier in the show (this will make sense once you read the rest of this newsletter). This format will also allow me to take this show one match at a time more or less, without having to worry about making a deadline. Also, I am going out of town for a few days- November 16th to 18th- for a conference in Toronto, which is going to require a lot of time my time & I don't mind telling you that I am scared out of my mind about. So, I'm going to need some help writing this. Even though this is coming out one match at a time, that doesn't mean the following matches can't be in production. I will be incredibly grateful if anyone can help me write for this card, and to all of you for being patient with me while I deal with this personally stressful couple of weeks. !!!!!@@@@@@!!!!!!HURON VALLEY WRESTLING!!!!!@@@@@@!!!!!! And now, the news. - TWO TRIPPS, A GIRL, AND A PIZZA PLACE This past Saturday Night saw three new superstars make their HVW debut. First, Tripp Skylark debuted as the founding member of SUPERSTARS UNLIMITED, the 18 year old prospect joining forces with HVW intern Sammy Bruce in the company's newest stable, the point of which is to give Skylark or any other unsigned wrestlers the opportunity to compete while they wait to get picked up by a real manager. Next, Tripp Shade made an unexpected appearance at the end of Joey~!'s match, confronting the cult icon and accusing him of being a Tripp Shade Tribute Band. Shade made no mention of which stable he had signed with, if any. Finally, in the X match, Steve the Jet was massacred by the debuting "Platinum Princess" Michelle Bailey, who also has yet to sign with any stable, though she was approached after the match by Carlos Vicensi. - RIVERS RUN WILD! Tim Rivers came within a fraction of a second of defeating Juan Vasquez to win the HVW Heavyweight Title in what would have been the upset of the century, but instead found himself on the wrong side of a steel chair shot that knocked him out cold and cost him the match. What many people expected to be an easy victory for the champion turned out to be the most competitive match in HVW's short history. - THE SHACKLES ARE OFF! The biggest announcement at Saturday Night #3 was that Jeff Stewart, due in part to some protests from some wrestlers in the company, decided to lift the ban on wrestlers negotiating with other stables. It is entirely possible that the landscape of HVW will look entirely different at Do or Die! !!!!!@@@@@@!!!!!!HURON VALLEY WRESTLING!!!!!@@@@@@!!!!!! It is DO OR DIE time in the Huron Valley, as HVW's first supershow is upon us! A total of FOUR titles will be on the line -- that's right, I said it, FOUR titles! With the shackles coming off of HVW's talent in regard to their contractual obligations to their managers, HVW President Jeff Stewart has decided to up the ante even more with the creation of the STABLE SELECT SERIES CHAMPIONSHIP, a trophy that will be fought for every supershow. First, here is the format for the first 3S competition! Of the 7 stables in HVW, the 3 most active stables will be in competition for the trophy, while the remaining 4 will be left out - either because they are too new (Flowers of Chivalry, Superstars Unlimited) or have not been as active as the others (The Doran Family, Team Rob Christie). These 4 stables will be in competition against each other, while the remaining 3 (Team Vicensi, The V-Funk All-Stars, and Team Dear God) will face each other once. If one team wins both of their matches (i.e., Team Vicensi beats both V-Funk and Team Dear God), they will win the trophy. If everyone goes 1-1, a sudden death match will be held. Here's how it works! The ONLY THING that is announced is which team is facing who. It is the responsibility OF THE MANAGERS to choose who they are going to put in the match. If, for example, there was a match between The V-Funk All-Stars and The Flowers of Chivalry (there isn't), Rich Vail would have the option of putting in one guy and hoping Kaiser Bill also only puts in one guy, or he could hedge his bets and put every member of his stable into the match, putting more of them at risk of injury or wearing them out before their matches later in the show. Unless the managers get together and come to an agreement (and would you trust Rich Vail at his word? If he said he was really truly honest to goodness only going to submit 2 guys, would you believe him? Of course not), any combination of matches are possible. 1-1. 2-1. 5-1. It all depends on how the manager plays it, because HVW is ONLY booking the team, and not the individual wrestlers. On top of this, there are two other things going on that are going to make this more interesting. First, 3 of the 5 matches are going to have stipulations added onto them at bell time. None of the managers will know which match it will be, or what the stipulations are, so as not to influence their selections for their match(es). Second, it is now the responsbility of the managers to make sure that they have a committment from everyone in their stable -- because the previous rule has been lifted, wrestlers are now allowed to sign with other stables (OOC: depending on the kinds of contracts you want to roleplay between manager and wrestler). What this means is, Team Dear God could select Costigan Rex, Jack Snyder and Grant Stone for one match, only to have Snyder come out for the other team! Got all that? Good. Back to the card. THE STABLE SELECT SERIES makes it's HVW debut with five matches, three of which will determine the first team to win the 3S trophy! In the first bout, Sammy Bruce's SUPERSTARS UNLIMITED take on TEAM ROB CHRISTIE! No doubt this match was made as a challenge to the former manager of champions, as the man many picked to dominate the manager-focused HVW has yet to contribute anything to helping his stable make a name for themselves, and getting out managed by an 18 year old intern could be Christie's final act in HVW. We know 2 things going into this match: one, there is a great deal of unrest in Christie's camp, and it's anyone's guess who he'll be bringing into this match, and two, we know that Sammy Bruce has a deal with newcomer Tripp Skylark, so if Christie does manage to unify his team, Skylark could be in serious trouble. In the second bout, Kaiser Bill's FLOWERS OF CHIVALRY take on THE DORAN FAMILY! This is a particularly interesting match, as The Flowers were born from Kaiser Bill buying Vespasian Reed from The Doran Family. This is a major bout for both teams, as a victory here could help unify them, as both teams barely missed the cutoff for being in contention for the 3S title - the fact that there could be some bad blood here courtesy of Vespasian Reed jumping ship just makes this all the more important to both sides. The official matches for the 3S trophy kick off when Rich Vail's V-FUNK ALL-STARS step into the ring against Carla Shade's TEAM DEAR GOD! These are the two largest stables in HVW, which means that this match has the chance to be an all-out war no matter if it's one on one or five on five. In fact, this match could determine who wins the whole thing, as if these two teams go for the other's throat right away, it's going to leave Team Vicensi in good shape to mop up and walk away with the trophy! In the next match, Carlos Vicensi's TEAM VICENSI take on Rich Vail's V-FUNK ALL-STARS! These two stables have clashed since the beginning of HVW, with V-Funk taking the latest victory when Tate Monroe defeated Audifax Vicensi to advance to the finals of the Submission Title tournament. There is no love lost between these two teams to say the least, and this match could be one of the most intense of the night. Finally, Carlos Vicensi's TEAM VICENSI takes on Carla Shade's TEAM DEAR GOD! This is going to be an interesting match, since Team Vicensi gives up a lot in size and intensity to Team Dear God, but Team Dear God is not nearly as unified or focused as Team Vicensi, so this could come down to a battle of wills in the end. With the conclusion of the 3S series, THE JUNIOR HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE IS ON THE LINE, as "CAPTIVATING" COREY HART faces off against "ATOMIC BLONDE" DONNIE WHITE and "DEATHDEALER" TOMMY GANZ! THE FIRST HVW SUBMISSION CHAMPION will be crowned as "BACKLASH" ALEXANDER KRUGER faces off against "TEXTBOOK" TATE MONROE! Both guys have been on a roll since joining HVW, and this match is really up for grabs _before_ you factor in the potential role for each guy in the Stable Select Series. And in the main event, the HURON VALLEY WRESTLING HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE is ON THE LINE as champion JUAN VASQUEZ defends the title against "PRICELESS" TIM SANDERS ... and TIM RIVERS?! On the heels of Saturday Night #3, HVW President Jeff Stewart has given Rivers the option of joining this match in spite of not being medically cleared to compete, or even in this weight class. Rivers came within a fraction of a second of defeating Vasquez, only to have the champ scramble his brain with a steel chair - should Rivers decide to compete in this match, he'd have to sign a waiver in case his condition worsens as a result of the match, and there is a chance that he would have to vacate the title should he win it... But who wouldn't want another chance to beat one of the best wrestlers in the world? In any case, Vasquez and Sanders have been on a collision course since HVW began, stemming from the death of GLCW this summer, and you can be sure that both guys are going to leave it all in the ring regardless of whether or not Tim Rivers chooses to participate in the match. DEADLINES! Because of the format for this show, there are no strict deadlines. If your character is selected by your manager to compete in a match, and you don't RP* for the match, it'll be considered a no-show and your character will not be involved. So, we're on the honor system for this, which essentially means the sooner your RP and strat and coordinate with your stablemates, the better it is for all of us. *All roleplays should be either in-rings or backstage, unless related to your stable training outside of the arena or your character(s) rehabbing their injuries. Any RPs set anywhere else _WILL NOT BE RUN_ because it is unrealistic. I will say this again: ONLY DO ON-CARD ROLEPLAYS! I don't want to see Wrestler X walking down the beach, sitting in the bar, getting his hair permed, it's not realistic to any kind of wrestling promotion. |

This show is going to be a blast and a half. I think the Doran Family should just put Mulberry agianst everybody in all stable matches...why would you need anybody else? But yeah, all title matches look great and the stable matches could be clusters or great or who knows what...it'll be interesting to see. Add in some devious trickery and shennanigans and you've got some good old fashioned fun. |
