News Central December 18, 2005 ================= # Veteran wrestler Wataru Yasuda, who has been very vocal with his displeasure at the direction of Dream Fujin over recent months, held a press conference at the Prince Hotel in Tawada last night. He announced that immediately he was severing ties with Dream Fujin, and starting up his own promotion, Pro Wrestling MEGA. Yasuda, who has more than 20 years' experience wrestling in various promotions throughout Japan, said he had grown tired of Dream Fujin owner Billy Thomas' "American stupidity", and that he had grown impatient of having to compete against "fools in children's masks who have no place in a wrestling ring". Pro Wrestling MEGA, he said, would be a return to the traditions of puroresu. No silly gimmicks, no foreigners, just strong competition. Yasuda then announced Pro Wrestling MEGA's first signing... "Wild Zero" Wasai Thrillblade, who was also making the jump from Dream Fujin. Yasuda promised that more signings would be announced in the coming days, and that there could be more who leave Dream Fujin for his company. He said Pro Wrestling MEGA would hold its shows in his home town, Tawada - initially at the Towada Citizen Gymnasium, which holds around 1500 people. The first show would take place sometime "before the new year", he said, and the first full tour would get underway in January. © Dream Fujin, 2005. |
