========================== Cry for Freedom Saturday December 24, 2005 Towada Citizen Gymnasium 850 paid fans claimed ========================== Match one: Takahiro Uei [10'36" Brainbuster] Kochiro Miyake - One of the bigger men in Pro Wrestling MEGA, Uei dominated the rookie Miyake, who for the second night in a row looked overawed by the occasion and messed up plenty of spots. Uei used more ground wrestling in this match, no doubt looking to minimise Miyake's chances of hurting himself, and finished the greenhorn off with a brainbuster. Match two: Wataru Yasuda{x} and Akitoshi Yano [13'21" Cloverleaf hold] Ryo Hosaka and Shigeo Hotta{o} - The boss teamed up with his former Black Wave teammate to take on Mr Indy Sleaze, Shigeo Hotta, and another rookie, Ryo Hosaka. Yasuda seemed content to let Yano take most of the limelight, tagging in and out for short periods of offence, but letting Yano control the tempo of the match. Hotta tried to get the fans behind him, but it wasn't happening. Hosaka did nothing of real note. Yasuda picked up the submission win for his team. Match three - Main Event: "Wild Zero" Wasai Thrillblade{x} and Hideki Shimoda [14'29" Dragon suplex hold] HERO Ishikawa and Jin Ketsumo{o} - The night before HERO had picked up the win over Shimoda in a trios match, and it was similar teams that went at it here, just with one less man per team. Thrillblade and HERO ruled the ring, showing their obvious class. Shimoda has only been wrestling sparodically in recent months, and the ring rust is slowly being cleared away. Ketsumo likewise, and he's the least experienced of these four, which showed. The fans were firmly behind HERO, but also showed good support for the other wrestlers. Thrillblade was in typical punk-rudo mode, using all the rudo moves he could think of. HERO wasn't afraid to bring the rudo himself in places, but mostly stuck to wrestling cleanly. The end came after HERO sat Shimoda up top, but Thrillblade caught him in a full nelson. Shimoda's missile dropkick hit Thrillblade instead, and HERO lept out onto Thrillblade with a big plancha, before Shimoda hit a big pescado onto HERO. Ketsumo looked to do the same, but missed with his pescado, eating the floor. Back in, Shimoda went to the top, but missed a 450 splash on Ketsumo. HERO dragged Shimoda from the ring and they continued to battle, as Ketsumo fought back against Thrillblade, but ate a Yakuza kick, then was put down for the 1-2-3 after a Dragon suplex with a bridge. Overall comments: The fact that Yasuda's talent pool is severely limited really showed through tonight, especially with the absence of the two Dream Fujin ring-ins (Super Orange Panda and Uchu Koujin Red without their masks), due to their wrestling for Dream Fujin on the same night. HERO, Thrillblade, Yasuda and Yano carried the show, but yet again the greenhorn rookies struggled. Yasuda's too bitter to work with Dream Fujin in any official capacity, but maybe he can strike some kind of talent swap deal with other indy leagues, or get some top indy talent on loan. He sure needs it. |
