On the upcoming edition of HVW Saturday Night, the manager of the V-Funk All-Stars, "Madfox" Jeff Matthews, is given a choice of matches for the following week's main event. The catch is that if Matthews' V-Funk star fails in the match, a punishment will be drawn from the HAT OF CONSEQUENCE*. The punishments, stipulations, etc in the HAT OF CONSEQUENCE will be created by you, the people. Matthews will not be the only manager to step up to the HAT OF CONSEQUENCE, naturally. The first question I pose to you, the people, is this: Do you think that the HOC should be applied to the loser of the match, or just in the event that the wrestler from the choosing manager loses (i.e., Carla Shade puts Joey~! in a match, Joey~! loses and has to draw from the hat). I ask this because originally, I was going to apply it only in the case where the manager failed, but I could see this being a lot of fun if applied equally. Second! What kind of punishments, stipulations, etc, would you like to see in the HOC? I would say that I am okay with anything being in there, but I know someone will come up with something that will just have to be omitted, so please keep your ideas at least on the edge of being reasonable. Remember, the loser is drawing from the HOC, so you should keep that in mind, though including a reward or two out of a few dozen punishments could make this all the more interesting... * The HAT OF CONSEQUENCE is real, and I am really going to draw a random punishment out of it. |

To me it makes more sense for the hat only to be applied when the choosing team loses. Otherwise, the guy who was chosen _and_ lost gets doubly fucked. I mean... say, Matthews chooses a match where he gets to steal someone from another stable... He wins, steals the guy, and then the guy ALSO has to run around the arena naked? I mean... that's a rough day. My ideas... 1. Has to run around the arena naked. 2. Instantly becomes a free agent. 3. Has to kiss the winner's bare ass. 4. Is forced to wrestle a handicapped match versus ReXXL. 5. Must stand still while the winner gets a free low blow. Bill |

I like 3 of the 5. The ass-kissing and running around naked stuff would just kind of be weird for everyone to read except for Buse, who lives for it. The other three are in for sure. As for your first point about some guys getting hit doubly hard: this could be theoretically offset by the inclusion of some rewards in the HOC (Say, for example, Carla Shade wins Audifax Vicensi's contract, and then Audi draws the "title shot of your choice" card). But, this is entirely up to popular opinion. Other possibilities: 1) No title shots for X amount of time 2) Drinking contest with Tim Sanders 3) Has to take Joey~! to the zoo 4) Steel cage match with opponent of Jeff Stewart's choosing |

1. Has to pay Juan Vasquez's child support for the next three months. 2. Has to take JUAN to the zoo(A nice one...not one of them wild life preserves). 3. Will be forced to play tea party w/ Juan's little sister. Failure to do so results in slappings! 4. He and previously determined opponent participate in a...BATTLE RAP~! 5. Everybody in the victorious stable shall line up and get to perform a free kick to the ass. 6. Drinks are on YOU. 7. Re-draw(Hey hey...you get another chance!) 8. Immunity(Hey hey...a reward!) 9. Punishment is shifted over to someone else in your stable(The EVIL reward!) 10. Punishment is shifted over to anyone of your choosing(Vengeful reward!) Ummm....I still think zoo visits are a must. Here's mine: 1) Has to accompany Tripp Shade to Tower Records and lend advice to a convulsing Shade as he browses pop/rock section. 2) Go to the skeezy strip joint where a shrivled up Nyx Dunne performs her re-enactments of his her greatest matches on the stage while 3) Forced to wrestle a handicapped submission match against the Submission champ and the number one contender [in the event that the hat chooser IS the number one contender, then it would be a partner of the Submission Champ's choosing] 4) Would have to wrestle one of his stablemates in a first blood [or equally violent] match. 5) Would have to act as Jeff Matthews' therapist for a day, helping him cope through his recent trials and tribulations... and wouldn't be able to say "Ktulu" in a mocking manner. 6) Get the chance to become manager of an opposing stable for a show. 7) Can referee a match of his choosing. |

A lot of great ideas. It's a good thing it is randomized, because each week would either be a trip to Tower or a trip to the zoo. The immunity, the re-draw, and the punishment shifting stuff adds an interesting dimension to this too, and I will definitely include them. The having to fight your own stablemate card is definitely a good idea too. I just hope that fate spares us Joey~! taking Vasquez to the zoo. Or do I?! |

1) Must wrestle his next match in women's clothing. See, that's a punishment or a reward, depending on whether or not it's Joey~! 2) Must make public appearances on behalf of the company (preferably something involving children) or do community service/charity work. 3) Must work at local Wal-Mart for one week. 4) Must spend the night in jail (see #1). 5) Must shave his head... if already bald, must wear bad toupee. 6) Tar and feathers. 7) Is sent on an indy tour to some third-world nations... the kinds of tours you read about in wrestler biographies that are typically horror stories of some kind. 8) Must begin every promo with "WellyaknowsomethinMeanGene!" and end every sentence with "brother". 9) All of next week's matches involving this stable will have stipulations chosen by their opponents at match time. 10) Your finisher is now banned. 11) Must attempt to "invade" a show of another company. 12) Must assault a member of your own stable on the next show or be fired. |

Judging from some of these, I think you guys are cool with it being the loser of the match who draws. I am going to put in the necessary rewards (specific titleshots, shots of your choosing), and some of this stuff isn't so much of a physical punishment as it is a sort of public humiliation (tar and feather, the zoo stuff) that I think could be found as a sort of special extra on an old WWF Wrestling Challenge episode or something. So it's not outside the rules of the fed. And I want to stress that point: if someone draws the "Go with Tripp Shade to Tower Records" card, that does not mean everyone is allowed to do the normal e-w RPs. These are special circumstances. I am compiling the list now, but keep 'em coming. |

Here are the 30 punishments and rewards that are on the list so far. Thanks to everyone who has contributed so far. This is not the final list. It is absolutely subject to change, so please continue to post your ideas. I am thinking of changing the method of the HOC - I was originally only going to use like a dozen or so ideas, and right now I don't think it will be much fun to make a big mess and try and keep track of 30+ slips of paper, so I might use a deck of cards instead. Anyway. Some of these are obviously more extreme in either direction than others, but that's the name of the game. Also, #24 is blank because I just realized it was a double and don't know what to replace it with. The last two on the list will also be revealed in due time. Got all that? Here is the tentative list. Keep posting ideas. 1. Instantly becomes a free agent. 2. Is forced to wrestle a handicapped match versus ReXXL. 3. Your manager must spend 5 minutes in the ring with an opponent of the people's choosing 19. Must shave his head. 20. Tar and feathers. 21.
