Osaka Prefectural Gymnasium #2, Osaka
Wednesday January 25
1300 Fans (Full house)

Match one:
Kyuki Shonjo [6'34" Missile dropkick] Uchu Koujin Red
- Shonjo, the proverbial rookie whipping boy of the past two tours, took a huge step up tonight by beating the "alien" Uchu Koujin Red. His progress was highlighted by the good level of crowd support that Shonjo got - the fans seem to love his fighting spirit, and the facials that he achieves as he fights submission holds and digs deep when facing defeat. A missile dropkick from the top rope was enough to put Uchu down for the 3-count, avenging a defeat that Shonjo suffered at the hands of Uchu on the last tour, at Hachioji Civic Hall on November 19.

Match two:
Hasselhoff SE{x} and British Steel [8'29" Hoffanator] Kotaro Shimita & Kurogama{o}
- This tagteam rivalry continued, with Shimita taking the place of Tornado JINTEI. It made no difference to the outcome though, as the "wigged warriors" Hasselhoff and Steel again emerged victorious. The match itself was a lot of comedy, with Hasselhoff and Steel going through all their now-familiar spots - the slow-motion beach run, the air guitar etc.
Hasselhoff SE used his new move, the Hoffanator (an inverted facelock lift into a stunner), for the second time on the tour, getting the pin on the bear-masked Kurogama.

Match three:
Eric Dane[NEXT], Tate Monroe[HVW]{x} & El Hijo del Super Macho[ILL] [13'48" Dragon Sleeper/Chickenwing submission] Griffin James, Crazy Bastard Cop & Tornado JINTEI{o}
- This match served as something of a preview of the upcoming Super Energy Battle TV taping, where James and CBC will take on Dane and EHdSM. There was also plenty of personal feeling in this one, after the disrespect Monroe and Dane showed Yoshida, James and CBC a few nights ago in Hiroshima. The most emotion-charged exchanges involved Dane, Monroe, James and CBC, especially when Dane and James were in the ring together.
The end came when EHdSM hit a big tope con hilo on CBC, and James and Dane were battling at ringside. Monroe, who had worked on JINTEI's neck and back throughout the match, clamped on his
Dragon Sleeper/Chickenwing combo with Body Scissors in the middle of the ring, and JINTEI was forced to tap out.
After the match, Monroe got on the microphone and sent a message to Usagi Yoshida that he would end up the same way, clamped in a painful submission hold and tapping out, which drew an "OOOHHH" from the crowd, and a few boos.

Match four:
Usagi Yoshida [11'40" Tombstone piledriver] Apollo Kid III (non-title)
- Despite this being a non-title match, both wrestlers came to the ring with seconds - Griffin James for Yoshida, and Kyuki Shonjo for Apollo. In Yoshida's case, it seemed to be as a precautionary measure in case anyone decided to attack and injure the Independent Super-Lightweight champion.
The match itself was nothing special, as Yoshida struggled to get a good match out of Apollo. The white-masked wrestler seemed to be trying hard, but maybe a bit too hard. Maybe the occasion of wrestling the champion was too much for Apollo Kid, as he blew a couple of key spots and in general looked sloppy compared to Yoshida. Yoshida is the consumate professional though, and he made sure the fans were entertained, bouncing around the ring with his big grin, blowing bubblegum bubbles and using his fun moves (faking a low blow, using the crotch claw etc).
A few minutes into the match, the crowd buzzed as Tate Monroe came out to ringside. He pulled up a chair and began to watch the match, but it was obvious that Griffin James was keeping an eye on him from that point on.
In the end it was an easy outing for Yoshida, who got a close count after a tornado DDT, then finished Apollo off with his trademark Tombstone piledriver. As James climbed into the ring to raise his friend's arm in victory, Monroe rose to his feet and began to applause. He smiled, nodding, then simply turned and walked away. Yoshida looked a little puzzled by this.

Match five - Main Event:
Shoji Tamura{x}, Bombay Kaijin & Jeff Kujawa[Free] [14'18" Double Sayama Feint Kick] Darkness Kitty!, Nobutaka Takase & Super Orange Panda{o} (non-title)
- Just like the last match, this was non-title - the Rebels Without a Pulse were not putting their Trinity X titles on the line. This was a decision made by Billy Thomas following Tamura and his buddies' attack on Darkness Kitty! in Hiroshima. However, it acted as a preview of the title match that will take place at the Super Energy Battle TV taping.
The main point worth noting about this match was that both teams showed excellent teamwork, busting out a variety of double and tripleteam moves. The Rebels Without a Pulse busted out a swank triple plancha/tope combination, while Kitty! and Takase combined again with their Cat Nap-elbowdrop (with Zombie moans) move, almost getting the 3-count on Kaijin, with Kujawa making the desperate save. Tamura and Kaijin hit a cool doubleteam of their own, Kaijin clamping Takase in a full nelson, then Tamura hitting him with his low blow palmstrike out of the splits position, before Kaijin took Tamura over with a bridged dragon suplex. Kitty! made the desperation save.
The end came when Takase was sent from the ring by a Tamura kick. Kujawa and Tamura prepared to hit Panda with a big spike powerbomb move, when Kitty! springboarded in and took Kujawa down with a rolling kick. He rolled right to his feet, but was suddenly blasted in the face by Kaijin's blue mist! Kitty! staggered about blindly, then was kicked from the ring by Kaijin, who went out after him. That left Panda alone in the ring with Tamura and Kujawa. Tamura hit him with a stiff enzuigiri, which sent Panda staggering forward, then falling chestfirst against the middle rope. Kujawa and Tamura then did something amazing - both running and hitting Sayama Feint Kicks (619) from either side, both sets of boots blasting Panda back into the middle of the ring, where Tamura covered him for the 3-count.
Tamura, Kaijin and Kujawa regrouped in the ring, striking a pose for the cameras as they stood over Panda, the fans applauding politely.

Overall comments:
The last show before the tour-ending Super Energy Battle TV taping is in the books, and the scene is set for some intriguing match-ups. The momentum seems to be firmly behind the challengers in both title matches - Monroe has been on a roll and has arguably the form wrestler this tour, while Tamura, Kujawa and Kaijin have all sorts of psychological advantage over the Rebels Without a Pulse. On top of those two big matches, we'll also see a pair of tagteam matches that are too hard to pick (James/CBC vs Dane/EHdSM and Hasselhoff/Steel vs Apollo/Shonjo), plus the first televised Dream Fujin appearance by the up-and-coming wrestling monk, Norihiko Miura. Without a doubt the show, which will be televised on Monday, could be make-or-break for a lot of Dream Fujin's finest.
