Thought I'd try to get this place jumping again a little bit, and what better way than with a predictions thread? Everybody loves these. So here we go: 1. Jason Keening vs. Alex Extreme vs. Chris Douglas/Ethan De Sade 9. Trey DaMann vs. Corey Irons 10. Romanis vs. Prophets of Rage 11. Sierra Browne vs. Amazing Grace vs. Leslie Hernandez 12. 1: Alex Martinez has been hot lately. I'm going to have to give him the nod. As for the ref... I have this feeling EW IV isn't quite done just yet. 2: No comment as I'm involved in that match. 3: Haven't followed this one too closely. I'll go with HoD. 4: Auggie. 5: Martin... I just see his stock going up and up in the fed. 6: Frost. 7: Harper. 8: Alex Extreme. 9: Trey DaMann seems to be on fire as of late too at least with his interviews. This is probably where his build up is really going to start. 10: Prophets. 11: Sierra Browne. 12: Tumaffi. 13: Borders. 14: Grimssom. I'm uneducated in a lot of these picks. That'll change by the next PPV.

1. Martinez should win...as for Special Guest Ref, I have 2 theories but I refuse to put them out on the off chance I'm right and I accidentally spoil something. Suffice to say, it better not be Rick Styles. 2. Hrrm...Kidd should get the pin, but I have an ugly feeling about this match. 3. Sons. 4. Legba. Augy has no need for the NA belt, but putting Legba over does the UWF a good service with another strong face in the singles divisions. Besides, it'll help with another selection... B) 5. Martin. Somebody in the Pride's gotta win this night. 6. Frost...and afterwards, he coming back to challenge Legba for what's supposed to be rightfully his. 7. No comment. 8. Keening pinning either Douglas or EdS after Extreme does all the work. Feud continues into another cycle without "heel" influence. 9. Damann is DAMAN~! The question is, will the pin be a fluke though? 10. Is "rocks fall, everyone dies" an option? Barring that, no contest and no clear winner. 11. Ideally, I'd like to see Grace win it, but Browne will probably retain. 12. Not only does Tumaffi win, but much like Austin/Hart, the roles get reversed and the big Samoan becomes a face in spite of everything. ![]() 13. Landis. 14. Grimsson. |

1. Martinez - I'll second the EWIV theory 2. The Illuminati 3. Hands of Death 4. Michael Augustine 5. "Dead End" Derek Martin 6. "Violent" Victor Frost 7. Donna Tetreault 8. Alex Extreme 9. Trey DaMann 10. Romanis 11. Sierra Browne 12. No comment Pre-Show 1. Use Your Opponent's Finisher Match? The match never ends, as fans realize that neither of them have finishers! 2. Marissa Monet |

I really don't follow most men's feuds all that closely, but what the Hell? ![]() 1. Martinez. No idea who the guest ref is. 2. The Illuminati. 3. Would like to see the Sons win, but my gut tells me the Hands of Death will win and retain the titles. 4. Will go with Legba. 5. Martin gets the win. 6. Everyone's going with Frost, so I'll say Sabbath ![]() 7. Gotta' go with Tetreault on this one. 8. Too many variables. No idea ![]() 9. General consensus so far is DaMann, but I got a feeling Irons is gonna' surprise a good few people ![]() 10. Prophets of Rage. 11. Browne retains. Should be a good match though. 12. Tumaffi. Pre-Show 1. Borders gets the nod here. 2. Grimsson's trek up the women's ranks continues with a win here. |

1. Martinez. If Styles is the guest ref, I will personally travel down to Toronto and slap Beebs with a wet fish. 2. The Illuminati when the Frats turn on Kidd 3. Hands of Death, I mean, come on people, it's called "Descent into Hell"! What match would be better suited for Annis to destroy everyone? ![]() 4. Legba in an upset, mayhap to continue the feud? 5. I see Greene taking this one but only to get destroyed afterward by Martin 6. Sabby. What can I say? I'm a mark. 7. Harper, woohoo! 8. Won't call my own match except to say that Keening wears boxers 9. DaMann, Jay's lightin' it up 10. Romanis 11. Browne 12. Quesada for an upset, Tumaffi then eats the cage in a rampage only to get taken down by battalions of miniature Japanese tanks and rocket launchers all while screeching and unleashing bolts of lightning. 1. Borders, who'll hopefully move up the card 2. Monet Good thing we're not bettin' real money on this, huh? Patrickus Lurkus |

1) Daniels wins, through some previously unthought of loophole or otherwise really cheap heel trick, but the feud goes on and Martinez eventually does win the title from him. The guest ref... I dunno, a returning Tim Vexton? I'll say this right now, if it's Chris Blue, I'll eat a bug. 2) When does the side with more guys ever win a handicap match? The faces win, with Kidd getting the pin. 3) SoC, just because it'd be a big upset and a big boost for them to beat the Hands in their "signature" match. It'd be a bloody mess, that's for sure. 4) Sort of a toss-up, the feud has been booked very evenly. I flipped a coin, and it came up heads, so I'll pick Augustine. 5) No comment. 6) Frost, who's on his way to being a future number one contender when Martinez is the face champ. You know you'd buy that PPV! 7) Harper, as Donna doesn't really need big wins to keep up her heat at this point. 8) It'll end with Keening and Extreme having to work together, and forging a very limited and temporary "grudging respect". I think Douglas and de Sade will win, but will continue to beat the heck out of whichever man they pin, forcing the other to choose whether he wants to make a save or not, which he eventually will. 9) DaMann, and the finish will be suitably cheap yet decisive. 10) I could see this one ending inconclusively, maybe a double count-out or something. I can't think of a reason to strongly put one team over the other just yet. 11) Sierra retains, as she still hasn't had her signature feud as champ yet. This is just a way to keep her strong heading into it. 12) Tumaffi, and I agree that he will be damn hard to keep heel. Preshow 1) Val Venis... wait, this isn't Heat, is it? Sorry. Landis, then. Preshow 2) I've really changed since I started in e-w... I'm about to give serious consideration to a women's division undercard match. Wow, I guess I'm growing up! Anyway, Grimsson wins. |

1. If this wasn't Gold Rush, I'd say it goes to a double DQ/countout type ending to continue the feud. But because it's Gold Rush, I'll go with an A-Mart vict'ry with the special referee being... someone whose Ego is MAXimum. 2. The Dudes With Attitude! 3. Sons o' Cacophony. 4. Augustine wins, but not the title. 5. I'm writing this one, and man is it gonna rock balls. That's my prediction. 6. There are no winners in this match, only scars for the people who can survive the pre-show RPs. 7. Donna Tetreault! She needs to be Illuminated, she does. 8. This one kinda disappoints me. Even though I wasn't in UEW, I know that Keening-Extreme has been built up for like eight years now. And nothing against Douglas/De Sade, but their involvement kind of muddles it up. I agree with whoever said that Keening and Extreme should develop some kind of grudging respect for one another, but it should be after a wild, chair swingin', blood lettin', 8 years-of-pent-up-rage-and-hostility-toward-one-another exorcising brawl. This is definitely a case where a normally cool technician like Keening should bust out the Steven Regal-esque stiffness, and scratch Extreme a good one. Alas... 9. Trey The Man. 10. Prophets! 11. Eenie, meanie, minie... Amazing Grace. 12. TUMAFFI DEVOURS CHICKEN CHEESE QUESADEAS! Pre-Show 1. Landis. 2. Marissa Monet, I'd like a piece o' yo' day. |

Having been around for said time period in said place and being one of those who has eagerly anticipated this program, I actually think that the Douglas/de Sade involvement thus far has been a creative way to get this in gear. I highly, highly doubt this is the blowoff between Keening and Extreme. I'm writing this, and I've not yet gotten anything as far as booking or whatnot, but it seems like this cycle was merely the igniting of this eight-year long fuse. And since Chris Douglas has been plotting Keening's demise for at least that long, it makes perfect sense that he'd do this. One of the sad realities of e-wrestling is that feds come and go constantly, UWF being the remarkable exception. Therefore, to understand what's REALLY going on here with not only Extreme and Keening, but Douglas as well, you'd have had to have information from and exposure to several feds at different times in the past. That is the case for most e-w feuds between long-established characters with 'history', and makes it very difficult for the handlers when they (who obviously do know the whole story) would love to run that long-awaited angle. Very few others will ever "get it" (meaning, understand everything that's gone on between the characters to make the angle make sense). I almost NEVER "get it" when stuff like this happens in e-w. This feud is one of the very rare times that I do "get it", and thus far, it's been absolutely sensible. Unfortunately, that doesn't translate into the majority of UWF's readership "getting it", and that's more of an indication of what e-wrestling is rather than any fault of the handlers. Trust me. It's good. :-) Jeremy S. (who thinks Marcus Manson should come out at some point and demand his rematch with Extreme; 5-card draw, deuces wild...) |

Okley dokely... 1. Scott Daniels vs. Alex Martinez -bonus question, who's da guest ref? I think things will be different in their 2nd meeting. I expect to see more from Daniels than I did last time. He knows what to expect and I can't imagine he won't try to cheat or get help somehow. Still, it makes more sense that in spite of that Alex Martinez takes the title. I'm not thrilled with the guest ref stip. The ref should not overshadow the title match of your federation. And with the build up this seems to have, I expect its someone big. It doesn't mean I won't be thrilled to see this mystery person just I hope it doesn't really take away from things here. With that in mind, I go with Joe Reed. He's a UWF staple, he's a big star, and his prescene doesn't overshadow Daniels and Martinez. 2. The Illuminati vs. Alex Kidd & The Fraternity Boys While the Illuminati made some noise, its fizzled some. Somehow I get the feeling that all changes at Gold Rush. Kidd and Frats are fun but a big move from the Illuminati wins it and puts themselves forefront in UWF again somehow. 3. Sons of Cacophony vs. Hands of Death, Descent into Hell I think this one steals the show. SoC is perfect as they just sometimes seem "too stupid" to fear a team like this. Hands of Death pummel these two like its going out of style but in the end I like SoC to pull off the miracle. 4. Papa Legba vs. Michael Augustine This has been an underrated program. Could be one of the best big men battles in a long time. This one should get ugly. I'm torn on who I'd like to win. Legba makes sense but Augustine winning would be a boost for him. Eh, Legba once lock my character in a coffin I pick Au...wait, wait, wait Augy killed my midget!!! *sigh* Legba. damn midget killers. 5. Brett Greene vs. "Dead End" Derek Martin This been fun to watch but I think Dead End wins. Besides, how can you not love a guy with a nickname like dead end? 6. "Violent" Victor Frost vs. Sabbath Vic's taken too much crap lately. Frost wins. 7. Stephanie Harper vs. Donna Tetreault Ugh, I can never pick women's matches well. I guess Donna wins some more. 8. Jason Keening vs. Alex Extreme vs. Chris Douglas/Ethan De Sade Yeah....I don't pick matches I'm in. Let's just say I'm here to make sure Keenings boxers don't fall off thus killing half our audience from fright. ![]() 9. Trey DaMann vs. Corey Irons Oh please, how can I not pick Derrick DaMann's kid? Besides, if I don't, he'll flood my inbox with spam. Maybe Prophet and Angel of Death's kids can drop by too. Oh hell I'd be amused by just thinking if Jedah had off spring. There should be a Moo Kame joke here but its too early in the morning to make that happen. DaMann wins. 10. Romanis vs. Prophets of Rage Prophets of Rage. Hard to pick against a Hall of Fame tag team. 11. Sierra Browne vs. Amazing Grace vs. Leslie Hernandez um...Hernandez? I should pay more attention to this. 12. Miguel Quesada vs. Tumaffi - Roofed Cage Match Tumaffi. IMO, I think he's really Big Mean Tough Guy in disguise. Okay I've said enough...merry x-mas. Jeff |

1. Scott Daniels vs. Alex Martinez -bonus question, who's da guest ref? Daniels retains. No idea on the special guest ref though. 2. The Illuminati vs. Alex Kidd & The Fraternity Boys I'll go with the Illuminati in this one. 3. Sons of Cacophony vs. Hands of Death, Descent into Hell Bloody match with the SoC winning in the end. 4. Papa Legba vs. Michael Augustine Legba 5. Brett Greene vs. "Dead End" Derek Martin Derek Martin wins and keeps rising through the rankings 6. "Violent" Victor Frost vs. Sabbath Sabbath 7. Stephanie Harper vs. Donna Tetreault Harper takes this one 8. Jason Keening vs. Alex Extreme vs. Chris Douglas/Ethan De Sade Keening and Extreme will be too focused on each other, allowing Douglas and son to swoop in and take the easy victory 9. Trey DaMann vs. Corey Irons DaMann 10. Romanis vs. Prophets of Rage Prophets 11. Sierra Browne vs. Amazing Grace vs. Leslie Hernandez I just don't see Sierra losing the belt just yet. Sierra wins. 12. Miguel Quesada vs. Tumaffi - Roofed Cage Match Tumaffi Pre-Show 1. Tom Landis vs. Shaun Borders - Use Your Opponent's Finisher Match The one match I go against the Pride. Borders takes this one. Beebs probably bans Team Canada from UWF for life for this one. 2. Nina Grimsson vs. Marissa Monet Nina Grimsson. |

1. Scott Daniels vs. Alex Martinez -bonus question, who's da guest ref? I find the general lack of faith in the champ very disturbing... As for the ref, well... I'll spoil it all for you here and tell you that it is *NOT* Luis "The Terminator" Garavello. All bets are off now. 2. The Illuminati vs. Alex Kidd & The Fraternity Boys Can't comment. 3. Sons of Cacophony vs. Hands of Death, Descent into Hell Who the Hell thought this one up??? 4. Papa Legba vs. Michael Augustine In the showstealer, I think Papa Legba will retain, and give Michael Augustine a bigger run for his money than anyone's ever given him. 5. Brett Greene vs. "Dead End" Derek Martin Hrmm... I smell a Pride setup... ;-) Nah. Martin will kick Greene's ass and continue his hot streak. 6. "Violent" Victor Frost vs. Sabbath This one could really go either way. I'll nod slightly towards Frost, but it's too close to tell. 7. Stephanie Harper vs. Donna Tetreault I am the world's biggest Donna T mark, so out of nothing but blind loyalty to my girl, I'll giving this one to Donna. :-) 8. Jason Keening vs. Alex Extreme vs. Chris Douglas/Ethan De Sade Being sup'd through a glass window display case is the crazy kind of thing to motivate Alex Extreme, so I'll put money on him. 9. Trey DaMann vs. Corey Irons DaMann is hot. Tre hot. Ha ha. Sorry. 10. Romanis vs. Prophets of Rage The Romani's will give the Prophets more of a fight than the Rages expect and this is the time for both teams to step up and become the major players in the tag team division they both should be. I'll give it to the Prophets, but they will bleed for those belts. 11. Sierra Browne vs. Amazing Grace vs. Leslie Hernandez Grace. 12. Miguel Quesada vs. Tumaffi - Roofed Cage Match What fool would vote against Tumaffi? Out of fear of him squashing me like a bug, I'm going with the big man. Pre-Show 1. Tom Landis vs. Shaun Borders - Use Your Opponent's Finisher Match Dear God, who would want to emulate a move made famous by Tom Landis? I say Landis wins after Borders just can't bring himself to imitate Landis. 2. Nina Grimsson vs. Marissa Monet Don't bet money against a Grimsson. |

1. Scott Daniels vs. Alex Martinez -bonus question, who's da guest ref? Martinez has a lot going for him right now. I'll go with him. 2. The Illuminati vs. Alex Kidd & The Fraternity Boys Kidd and the Frats 'upset' the illuminati. 3. Sons of Cacophony vs. Hands of Death, Descent into Hell Sons. 4. Papa Legba vs. Michael Augustine Tough call, but I'll go with Augustine. 5. Brett Greene vs. "Dead End" Derek Martin Usually I like Greene better, BUT I got a feeling he'll be scripted to put the younger Martin over. 6. "Violent" Victor Frost vs. Sabbath Sabbath. Sorry, just a big fan. 7. Stephanie Harper vs. Donna Tetreault Tough one... um, Harper. 8. Jason Keening vs. Alex Extreme vs. Chris Douglas/Ethan De Sade Father & son combo. 9. Trey DaMann vs. Corey Irons Iro-- I mean... I can't comment on my own match. Granted, if I do win, you will all be hearing from my attorney in the morning (except for you Neal, of course). :-P 10. Romanis vs. Prophets of Rage Prophets 11. Sierra Browne vs. Amazing Grace vs. Leslie Hernandez Browne retains. 12. Miguel Quesada vs. Tumaffi - Roofed Cage Match Tumaffi Pre-Show 1. Tom Landis vs. Shaun Borders - Use Your Opponent's Finisher Match Hmm... Landis. 2. Nina Grimsson vs. Marissa Monet Gah, I'm writing this one... can't comment. |
