# Almost two weeks after failing to defeat Usagi Yoshida for the Independent Super-Lightweight title at the Super Energy Battle taping, and on the eve of the kickoff show for the "Heaven's on Fire" tour, American gaijin Tate Monroe broke his silence to talk to the press on these and other topics:

On his match against Yoshida: "Not to take anything away from Usagi Yoshida, but honestly I'd have to say I was disappointed to lose the match, especially considering the hard work I put in to get to that point in the first place. I felt I had the tools and the preparation to win, I felt my performance was more than adequate also, certainly sufficient to match if not surpass the performance of Yoshida. But unfortunately these things rest on a knife-edge at times, and if I had to pick a key turning point then unfortunately I'd have to say it was the referee's allowal of that illegal clawhold by Yoshida. Obviously the officials look at something like that more leniently here, but to me there's really no difference between that and an outright blatant low blow. I feel like that threw me out of the mindset I needed to be in, and ultimately led to the mistakes which cost me the match."

On the possibility of a rematch in the future: "Yes, definitely I'd love another shot at Yoshida. Again, not to take anything away from his ability or effectiveness as a champion, but I think with the lessons I learned from our first encounter, he'd be hard-pushed to defeat me a second time."

On his decision to sign on with Dream Fujin for a second tour: "It really wasn't a difficult choice. As I've said before, I look at my time here as a great opportunity to further my professional wrestling education, so when Mr. Thomas asked me if I was interested in extending my stay, I was more than happy to accept the offer."

When asked what his goals would be for this upcoming tour, Monroe answered: "At this point, simply to maintain my performance level and build on the success I've achieved here thus far. I think the fact that I was limited mostly to tag team contests during the last tour had a fairly major negative impact on my overall record. So I was excited to see that I will have several opportunities for singles competition this time around, which I think really is a testament to the confidence Mr. Thomas has in me as a competitor."

On that opportunity coming sooner rather than later, with a singles match against Bombay Kaijin on the opening show of the tour: "I'm looking forward to it. After my last match I'm ready to get back to winning ways, and I think this is as good a chance as any to do just that. Our records may have been very similar last tour, but really I think that was somewhat deceptive. He was at his best when he had others to back him up, whereas I think I proved I don't need to rely on anyone's talents but my own. And I think in the end, that'll be made quite evident in this match. It should be an excellent contest."

Monroe then thanked the reporters for their time and returned to his pre-tour preperations.
