News Central Friday April 7, 2006 ===================== # Dream Fujin announced today that it had come to contractual terms with 21-year-old Ryoji Mifune. Mifune, a four-year pro from Sakurajima, Kagoshima, came as a personal recommendation from the currently-injured Usagi Yoshida. At 5'9" and 197 pounds, Mifune was actually a death match wrestler (previously wrestling as HITOKIRI in Blood, Sweat, and Chairs Wrestling, where he was cruiserweight champion, as well as under his real name in the United States Jisatsu Project), as well as a comedy wrestler, but has sworn that he will wrestle a serious, hard-hitting style with Dream Fujin. Mifune surprised the media by appearing with closely-cropped black hair, instead of the long purple hair he was known for. "Today begins a new chapter in my life, gentlemen," Mifune said, "and I intend to make the most of it." # There is a feature on the Nikkan Sports Osaka website about Elvis Sunday and his current involvement in Dream Fujin. In the interview, Sunday talks fondly about reaching the end of his second tour with the company. "Obviously Iım on a short term contract but Iıd like to stick around for as long as I can, I'm certainly going to take pride in defending the Trinity-X title as long as I have one! My commitments in NEXT have slowed up for the time being and Iıd like to thank the guys over in Milwaukee for allowing me to stick around over here and do my schtick." Reflecting on the tour: "Itıs been a funny one, last time around there was all the smozzle with MEGA, this time Iıve found myself right in the middle of things with Tamura, Kaijin, Kitty and Panda, the first tour was an experience for me, this one has kept me sharp and its been a tougher challenge overall. That said, I love it here [in Japan] and I really think I've made some good friends in DF." On the Trinity X titles: "I didnıt expect to win the titles but now weıve got 'em, I donıt want to give it up! With Ty and Tate onside I think weıre one helluva team. The match with Kitty and co will be tough because they know the only way they can beat us is to bend the rules. That said, all three of us are capable of neutering the Kitten, endangering the Panda and...well, dropping Kaijin on his head in a split second. We're going out to prove a point to them after all the poop they've been getting away with so look for a great match and some fantastic action!" # *Taken from TeamDangerOnline.com* OSAKA, Japan - Heya sports fans, it's Ty here, I'm kickin' it in Japan right now and having a ball!! Well, outside of having a pretty rough tour, I am loving my time here in Japan with DREAM*FUJIN... I've taken quite a few losses (ouch) and really let myself and my mates (Tate & Sunday) down... I offer no excuses, I let alot of you down, plain and simple. But, I have been down before and I've come back for more, better than ever... This will be NO different! I have come back from worse! Trust me on this. We have one more event before the tour ends, the chips are down, and I am going to put on one hell of a show... COUNT ON IT! # After his somewhat surprising loss over Yoshino Namami, the former monk Norihiko Miura held shop in the locker room, addressing his position in Dream Fujin. "First, let me say, after my role in liquidating Pro Wrestling MEGA, I'm glad I can work toward achieving a state of peace as I traverse through Dream Fujin's ranks. I was overconfident against Namami, and because of that, he got the best of me. I'm very disappointed in myself; however, at Super Energy Battle, I won't make the same mistake as before." He was then asked about the aftermath of the war with MEGA and what his ambitions are now. "Well, for one thing, I'm of the opinion that we should absorb their championship into our promotion. The MEGA-1 Championship has the potential of being of great value within Dream Fujin, and now that we've won the war, it's only fair that it be used as a war trophy for the group. Other than that, I've been trying to wrestle as I always do, though some disturbances within my inner 'ki' have prevented me from reaching my full potential as I usually do, and it was obvious in my matches with Namami. However, I've dealt with those problems, and am ready to confront the "Blinding Storm" at Super Energy Battle. I will show him the power of Zen, and he will NOT repeat his fortunes from IMP Hall." "That's not to say that Namami isn't a talented wrestler. He most certainly is. However, he lacks experience and discipline, no matter what he and his father may say. He may have gotten a win over me; however, if he truly wants to prove himself on television in his singles debut, he'll have to essentially become a solid rock. When I defeat him in a hard-fought battle, I will offer him an opportunity to max out his potential through the discipline of the Zen. way." Miura then bowed humbly and gathered his bags before leaving the arena. © Dream Fujin, 2006. |
