DREAM FUJIN Official Rankings Post "Shukuen Fight Series" tour Top 10: ======= 1. Griffin James [Independent Super-Lightweight champion] - Arguably the most popular wrestler in all of Japan this year, the hard-hitting American has finally reached the pinnacle, winning the vacant Independent Super-Lightweight title. There's a long list of contenders waiting for their crack at James and his belt, but the master of the Fujingun Stinger is determined to have a long and successful title reign. 2. "Prince of Torment" Shoji Tamura - The teenage phenomenon came up just short in his quest to win the singles belt, but with his clique of allies helping his cause, Tamura remains hungry to become _the_ man in Dream Fujin. He won't rest until he's wearing the big gold. 3. "Textbook" Tate Monroe [Trinity X champion] - The unofficial captain of the gaijin Trinity X champions. Monroe picked up the pinfall in his team's successful title defence on Super Energy Battle TV, and continues to have a strong following with the fans. While his focus right now is on retaining the Trinity X gold, Monroe must surely have one eye on Griffin James - who he has had his problems with in the past - and another shot at the Independent Super-Lightweight title. 4. Darkness Kitty! - With his own group, Rebels Without a Pulse, now a thing of the past, Kitty! made a big move during this tour, aligning with Shoji Tamura. Kitty! brought his constant companion, Super Darkness Panda, into the fold as well, making a strong faction even stronger. He set his sights on the Trinity X gold, which he has worn himself before, and came up short in that regard. His alliance with Tamura means Kitty! might have to wait to go after the big title. 5. "Flyin' Hawaiian" Elvis Sunday [Trinity X champion] - Like Monroe, the Flyin' Hawaiian has become immensely popular with Dream Fujin crowds, and has earned a reputation as an exciting entertainer who is consistent night after night. Right now he is enjoying the spoils of being Trinity X champion, but could realistically be looking at a run at the singles title if he keeps up his hot form over the next tour. 6. Norihiko Miura - The wrestling monk had a mixed tour, with inconsistent performances. He finished off the tour on a high note, beating Nanami on Super Energy Battle TV, but was also beaten one-on-one by the newcomer a few nights earlier. A more consistent effort in the ring could see Miura advancing up the ladder - it's all up to him. 7. Tyrone Walker [Trinity X champion] - Without a doubt the most unproven of the three Trinity X champions. Walker had a number of below-par performances on the tour, at times earning the ire of Tate Monroe. However, he managed a solid performance on Super Energy Battle TV. Another who needs more consistency in terms of workrate and effort. 8. HERO Ishikawa - In the space of a few weeks the former RCW and SPW superstar has gone from Public Enemy Number One and part of the Pro Wrestling MEGA "invasion", to a regular member of the Dream Fujin roster, who's been hearing his fair share of cheers from the crowds. HERO knows what it's like to wear the Independent Super-Lightweight belt (having worn it along with two other belts as part of the Super J-Crown in RCW), and one or two more solid tours could see the King of Da Fistdrop~! in firm contention for it once more. 9. "Blinding Storm" Yoshino Nanami - One of the newest arrivals in Dream Fujin, Nanami certainly has the pedigree to become a success, as son of retired legend Tatsumi Nanami. He scored an upset win on this tour, beating Miura in a singles match. Miura avenged that loss on the tour finale, but their rivalry is definitely far from settled. 10. Ryoji Mifune - Another newcomer, Mifune made his debut on the last show of the tour, impressing right away with his shootstyle skills and picking up the win in a tagteam match. Questions remain over how Mifune can continue to shun his deathmatch wrestling past and concentrate on his new style, but so far all indications are that he is a talented prospect. The rest: 11. Super Darkness Panda 12. "Wild Zero" Wasai Thrillblade 13. Hasselhoff SE 14. Fuego Tigre jr [ILL] 15. Apollo Kid III 16. British Steel 17. Kyuki Shonjo 18. Bombay Kaijin 19. Maiden Japan 20. Ultraman Zeta 21. Steel Cougar 22. Shiro Namiguchi 23. Ice Dragon 24. Tornado JINTEI © Dream Fujin, 2006. |
