Conclusion! =--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=BUCKEYE WRESTLING FEDERATION=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--= 1. Who? What? Why? +OOC: Bill Reese. _That's_ who. Glorified, action packed wrestling. _That's_ what. 'Cause I want to. _That's_ why. I handle a few characters: "Dying Breed Jack Snyder. Elijah, Shoji Tamura to name a few. I've written matches for numerous feds as well. This is my first attempt at fed-heading. So... cut me some slack, but also expect to have a fucking blast. The BWF has been created as a sister-fed and territorial rival to Andj's HVW. This fed will have a little bit of everything. I'd like to think late 80's-early 90's WWF as far as a model... _however_ there will be stuff brought in from all facets and eras of the game. While I'd like to have some stock-character gimmicks, I also want to throw in the hardcore style of ECW from time to time. While I don't want constant run-ins and screwjobs, we will have complex angling and some intervention by "the higher-ups." Basically, there's a little something for everybody. I want the fed to have a diverse feel. While their will be a mish-mash of styles... have no fear... BWF will have its own easily recognizable identity! Keep reading to the "Features" section to find out exactly what I mean. +IN CHARACTER: The Gremlin is at it again, and this time he's left Ruth Morowitz in charge. Ruth, fresh out Harvard Business School where she earned her MBA, is not a wrestling buff per se... but she does know how to run a tight ship and a successful business. And don't think 'cause she's a woman, she'll let her roster walk all over her. Quite the contrary, Ms. Morowitz is as tough a boss as you've ever seen. The Buckeye Wrestling Federation, or BWF, was born when the presidency of HVW (or Huron Valley Wrestling) was up for grabs. The Gremlin was dissatisfied with Jeff Stewart's job as president, so he brought in the smart, young businesswoman Morowitz to run against him. Though Morowitz officially won the vote, Jeff Stewart rigged the election and remained in office as president of HVW. The Gremlin, pleased with what he saw from Ruth as an interim president for his original organization, decided to hand Ruth the reins to his brand new wrestling company. One that he's decided to run out of Columbus, Ohio... rival city/state to Michigan. No doubt there will be battles for roster members, prestige, and most importantly money between BWF and HVW. Ruth is confident that BWF will eventually put HVW out of business for good, becoming a nationwide conglomerate filled with wrestling's greatest stars. She hopes to make The Gremlin and herself more money than they know what to do with. =--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=BUCKEYE WRESTLING FEDERATION=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--= 2. BWF Shows! +BUCKEYE BRAWL: BWF's regular show. My goal is to make this a bi-weekly show. In actuality, it will probably come out once every 2 1/2 - 3 weeks. This show will feature anywhere from 6-10 matches. It is a _studio show._ Hosted by former HVW employee Bob Wire (who jumped ship for a larger role and bigger contract), Buckeye Brawl is a review of the last few weeks of BWF action! Think Primetime wrestling from back in the day. Titles will be defended on these shows. Wire will keep you updated on all the latest happenings, and show you footage from recent matches. We'll join these matches in progress for the most part and/or we'll clip to the highlights. The main event of each card will be show in full. The card will be set up this way to foster quickly moving angles. Since this is a review of the past few weeks, the first match may be one that took place at Ohio State University, while the next took place the following night at a convention center. One wrestler may attack another during one show and the other may respond at the next... and _both_ incidents will be aired on the same episode of Buckeye Brawl... get my meaning? Also appearing on Buckeye Brawl will be comments, interviews, promos, and commercials (to be explained below) from your favorite BWF superstars! +PPVs: These will take place on an as-announced basis. BUT, I will tell you now... the _very first card_ will be of this nature!! Titles will _always_ be up for grabs at a PPV. I'll do my best to get all roster members involved one way or another. Feuds and angles will come to a close, and/or be ignited! So... bring your "A" game! =--=--=--=--=--=--BUCKEYE WRESTLING FEDERATION=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=- 3. Features! +BWF/HVW SISTER ORGANIZATIONS: This is a major key to the fed that cannot go unmentioned. As mentioned earlier, BWF was formed out of an angle that originated in HVW. There may be some inter-fed banter, stealing of contracts, as well as the possibility of inter-fed events down the line. With Gremlin in charge, wanting some continuity between the two organizations, the second feature is... +THE MANAGER STRUCTURE: Similar to Gremlin's original brainchild, BWF will also feature a managerial structure. Keep in mind, it is a very different structure... so pay attention! In BWF, the managers will be more like 'agents' than managers. They are welcomed to and encourage to play a ringside role as well, but their primary duty/function is to sign and manage talent. There is no cap to how many wrestlers one manager can run. there is also no minimum, _however_, a draft will be held when BWF first opens, so each manager will start off on somewhat equal footing. A manager may draft a tag team as one pick. My plan, through booking and the lot is to create a lot of intra-stable rivalries and feuds as well as feuds between stables. As a manager, you are not forced to keep your troops happy, but they can leave you if another manager offers better... and as you'll see below... there is definitely incentive to keeping your wrestlers happy. +COMMERCIALS: Let's get real here. This is Gremmy's second fed. We know he's a wrestling legend and all, but where's he getting all this cash!? Fact is, he's running low. So... in agreement with the local cable company, Gremlin has offered up the services of his wrestlers and managers. As part of their BWF contract, empployees must run commercials for different products each show. I will assign 3-5 characters with a product for each edition of Buckeye Brawl, and the characters will run a commercial for the product... if you the handler have a product you'd really like your character to advertise, feel free to suggest it. I'm up for any and all ideas. I'd like to do some that don't fit at all, and some that are perfect matches. Please do these! It's just a fun element I've added for a spark and to break up the card some, making it seem like an actual TV show. The more effort you put into these, the more it will show me you care about the future of BWF and your success there. +TAG TEAM DIVISION I am gonna give this a shot. Seems like no one else is really to give a tag division the full attention it deserves, but I feel really great tag matches with really great teams could be _really_ exciting! So, I'm going to provide the outlet. Single handler tags as well as two handlers teaming up will both work. But I'd love to have at least a couple tags that are a gimmick in themselves. Again, as a model, using the late 80's-early 90's here. Tag title matches will ALWAYS take precedence over any singles match, other than a Buckeye State Title match. So... if you're willing to play in what many consider to be the 'lesser division'... you'll be rewarded, I promise. +CONTENDERS, FAN FAVORITES, MOST HATED This is pretty self explanatory. But on each update, there will be a few lists. These lists include the Top 5 Contenders for each title... the Top 5 Fan Favorites, and the 5 Most Hated BWF superstars. This of course is in addition to newsbits, upcoming lineups, and any other important info that needs to be mentioned in between shows. =--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=BUCKEYE WRESTLING FEDERATION=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--= 4. Gold & Glory! +BUCKEYE STATE CHAMPIONSHIP: This is the big one. The premiere title to be held in BWF. Open to anyone, any weight division. It's defended at every PPV and on some editions of Buckeye Brawl as well. Champ will wrestle in non-title matches as well. Anyone who defeates the chamo in a non-title bout will be given a shot at the gold. Otherwise, to challenge the champ, you must have one of the top 5 contenders. +BUCKEYE STATE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP: As mentioned above, this division will be taken seriously. It will be given great attention, and we'll see tag matches in the main event, fairly frequently. All tag title matches will be the main event, unless the Buckeye State Title is also on the line. These belts are to be defended at every PPV and at points inbetween as well. If you're wearing these belts, you are the premiere tag team in the land! Same rules apply for non-title matches and contendership as the singles gold. +BWF CAPTAIN'S CUP Along with the managerial theme, this gold cup is actually held by a manager! The cup will be defended by the wrestlers under contract of the manager who holds the cup... but it must be a different wrestler each defense. So, as a manager, you'll want to make sure you're treating each of your employees well... or one of them may just job your precious trophy to another manager's protege when it is their turn to defend. Or... they may job their opportunity to win it for you unless you sign the contract for him to face his heated rival. +FRANKLIN COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP (Inactive): Columbus, the capital of Ohio and home of BWF is the county seat of Franklin County. So, this championship is the #2 singles belt. As of the start of the fed it will be inactive. I'd really like to focus on one singles belt and the tags, to make sure they are recognized to their full potential. But, if it becomes the general consensus that a second singles title is needed, this will be it! Again, no restrictions on weight or style of wrestling. =--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=BUCKEYE WRESTLING FEDERATION=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--= 5. Names & Faces! +THE GREMLIN: He's the owner. Most of you know him well. He'll remain in an almost entirely off-camera role. +MS. RUTH MOROWITZ: Our President. Harvard grad. A shrewd businesswoman. +BOB WIRE: His services have recently been acquired from HVW. He was the backstage interviewer there and hosted his sessions called "10 Count w/ Bob Wire." But for more money and a larger role, he's joined the Buckeye Wrestling Federation. Here, he's the studio host of BWF's main show, Buckeye Brawl. +TOM BARNABY: The play-by-play man. He's calling the shots of the action. He's impartial and will call a cheat when he sees one. Knows all the holds and tricks of the ring. He's bounced around from indy to indy his entire career as a commentator. Hasn't made much money doing it and never made it to the big time, so sometimes he can be a bit jaded. But... he's very serviceable. +ROBBIE KRAMER Tom's color man. Just a jerk, flat out. Always roots for the cheater. If there's two cheaters in the ring, it's whoever's cheating more at the time. Slimy, skeazy, used car salesman type dirtball. Has an insult up his sleeve for just about everyone... perverted, immature, and sexist. But... he's harmless physically. +LANGSTON HOWARD Langston's the backstage interviewer. He's basically a nerd. He wears a sports coat with pants that don't match and a clip-on bow tie. Pretty boring, actually, but he's all we could afford. Does have a knack for asking the right questions though. +PAUL "PIPES" POLENTA BWF's ring announcer. This retired opera singer's got a clear, booming voice that rings throughout the arena when he announces your favorite Ohio-based grapplers. +GIL ROOSEVELT The head referee. He's fair, but stern. His a big guy... that is... in circumference. At 5'6" and 247 lbs, this guy is _stout!_ But, he's pretty agile for his size and he's very smart in the ring. Makes the right call about 99% of the time, though the heels of BWF swear he's got a slow count. =--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=BUCKEYE WRESTLING FEDERATION=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--= 6. The Law! Here are the rules folks, follow 'em! +ROLEPLAYS: These can be done anywhere you like, but they will appear on Buckeye Brawl. I have no problem with previously recorded footage from the bar, your characters home, the gym, the stable's meeting place (if they have one), etc. You may also do on-card flashes and previously recorded pieces in front of a BWF banner... interviews with Langston Howard are also cool with me. Whatever suits your fancy and your character the best. A variety would be nice! Whatever you do... just DO 'em! I hope you'll roleplay even if you aren't scheduled for a match. I am not putting a rule on swearing, but I expect that the bulk of your flash won't be made up of swears. We are all fairly smart individuals. We know that swearing can add power at some points and detract at others. Just be wise and I won't have to censor anyone. Obviously, there will be no attacking of any characters or BWF officials in your flashes without consent. +DO YOUR COMMERCIALS: Yup. +NO COMPLAINING: Please people. No bitching and moaning. The #1 key to a successful fed is everyone keeping a friendly atmosphere! Don't get to caught up in wins and losses. Concentrate on angles, flashing and working with others. Put your best foot forward. If you do this, you won't need to worry about anything else. Everyone will get their just deserve. +HAVE FUN: Yup. +NO COMPLAINING: Just figured I'd mention it again +STRATS: I am a big fan of strats! They help the match-writers and also help me portray your character better. Do them for me. Do them for yourselves. +SUCCEEDING: I will not be following any specific rubric in terms of deciding winners and losers. The flash is ultimately the key. I will generally compare them and decide the winner that way. However, I reserve the right to put someone over for angle-driven purposes as well as overall effort. If someone's consistently flashing, contributing to the message board, giving feedback and being productive in general, they'll be rewarded. Strats will also be factored in. I'm looking for eager handlers who show me they care bout the fed and not just their own personal egos. Check that fucking ego at the door. =--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=BUCKEYE WRESTLING FEDERATION=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--= 7. Application! Send all apps to ineedmony@hotmail.com for consideration. +PERSONAL INFO: Your name: E-mail: IRC/AOLSN: Can/Will you write matches?: +WRESTLER INFO: Name: Age: Height: Weight: Hometown: Alignment (yes, I am looking for straight up heel or face): Appearance (include physical attributes and ring attire): Moveset (20-25 moves) Signature/Combination moves: Finisher: Strengths & Weaknesses (number of strengths must equal # of weaknesses): Entrance (in copy and paste form, please): Personality/gimmick: History: +TAG TEAM APPLICATION: (please fill out one regular app for each member of the tag) Tag Team Name: Tag Team Finisher: Tag Team History: Additional Tag Info of note: +MANAGER APPLICATION: Name: Age: Appearance (include physical attributes as well as attire): Personality/Gimmick: History: What is his/her goal as a manger in BWF?: =--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=BUCKEYE WRESTLING FEDERATION=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--=--= 8. Conclusion! That's all folks! Hope to see you aboard or at least as a casual reader. I'm looking forward to a lot of fun. Let's ROCK! Bill Reese |
