# New number one contender to the Independent Super-Lightweight title, Tate Monroe, was in understandably good spirits when he spoke to Mexican and Japanese reporters following Tuesday's Arena Coliseo show:

- On being awarded the coveted shot at Griffin James' title on the tour ending show: "I'd just like to reiterate what I told Mr. Thomas personally yesterday, which is that I'm extremely grateful to him for this opportunity, and I won't let him down. I don't think anyone would disagree with me when I say I've more than earned this shot -- my performances over the past several tours basically speak for themselves in that regard -- but it's always nice to have that success and hard work recognized and rewarded by your employer."

- On the confrontation between himself and Griffon James following Tuesday's main event, a success title defense by the Trinity X champions: "It didn't bother me, although what motivated him to interject himself in our victory celebration in the first place, I couldn't really say. Perhaps he feels threatened by me and felt the need for some typical macho posturing, or else he simply couldn't stand the thought of a Dream Fujin show actually ending with a face other than his own being the last one the fans are allowed to remember. Who really knows?"

- On whether he thought he would have more success the second time around, both in challenging for the title and also in singles competition with James: "I've had a lot of time to think about both of those matches, to go over exactly where I went right, and where I went wrong. And let's just say I've been waiting a LONG time for the opportunity to right those wrongs."

- And finally, on this weekend's upcoming Copa Del Atomicos tournament: "It should be interesting from a competitive standpoint. I can't say honestly that I feel any immense patriotic urge to uphold the "honor of America"... [laughs] ... not against two countries who's wrestling heritage I hold a great deal of respect for. But we're a strong team, and I feel we have a very good chance of winning here... assuming at least that Griffon James can check his ego at the door, for the good of the team."

# Elvis Sunday was said to have stayed for over an hour chatting to fans and to enjoy a Hot Burrito after successfully defending the Trinity-X titles at the Arena Coliseo last night. As luck would have it FUERCITA GUERRERA of boxylucha.com was on hand to put some questions to the 'Flyin Hawaiian'.

Sunday responded enthusiastically when asked about the Lucha style even going so far as to say that he modelled his own high flying moves on lucha's from day's gone by. He continued stating that 'the colour, characters and all around athleticism and drama was inspirational and, well, shucks, I'm just glad to be here and see it all first hand! It's my kinda show and hopefully I can step up and entertain the fans.'

With news that Sunday will form part of Team USA, Guerrera asked about the Trinity-X titles. Sunday was visibly glowing, clearly as proud as punch. "It's an honour fo'sho! 6 months back I was some kid from Hawaii trying to catch a break, now that I've got it, I don't plan on letting it go! Since I signed up to NEXT [A milwaukee based promotion] I've been all over the place, I couldn't have asked for anything more. The US, Japan and now Mexico...wowzers. I used to sell ice cream on the beach and look at me now!"

Sunday was keen to put over his fellow Trinity-X title holder Tate Monroe saying that every time he stepped into the ring with him he learned something new, he was also keen to praise Griffin James who he said was 'a helluva competitor.' Loyalty though saw Sunday back Monroe to land the big prize - Independent Super-Lightweight title.

After signing a few autographs and posing for pictures, the orange afro'd one made his apologies and headed home.

# A reporter from Nikkan Sports recently caught up with "Blinding Storm" Yoshino Nanami, who has been having a terrible time in Mexico so far.

- In regards to being destroyed in the Arena Pueblo on May 1st by rival Norihiko Miura...

"We may have won that match, but Miura-san was the man left standing. In my eyes, that is a loss. He may feel that he has one up on me, but when our war is over, he will be the one staring up at the lights. I will not rest until Miura-san learns to respect me."

- As to his loss the next night at Arena Coliseo...

"If I had my father with me, that would never have happened. I did not know that the Blinding Driver was illegal, as I have never wrestled in Mexico before. I apologize to my partners in that match, as my mistake cost them a victory. I will not make that mistake again, I promise that."

- Finally, as per the announcement that he was to fight for Team Japan in the Copa del Atomicos alongside rival Norihiko Miura...

"For three nights, I shall put aside my feelings towards Miura-san and will co-exist as best I can. The pride of Japan is more important than any rivalry, and I hope my partners feel the same. If we are all on the same page, we will be unstoppable, even against the Trinity X champions."

# The press was able to catch up with Griffin James some time after the Arena Coliseo show, and here's what he had to say:

About Tate Monroe:

"Listen, about Tate Monroe- who? Ha! I mean, I'm sorry- seriously, I respect the dude more than I let on. But look, he's a threat to my title, and I really don't wanna be seen as a 'transitional' champ to all the smart kids on the Internet. I think the thing most people are forgetting is that... well, I'm no pushover my-damn-self, dig? Tate thinks I'm all about the spotlight- and to that I say that I'm not gonna be a meek little mouse concerning him, you know? I'm not gonna let him waltz into the Super Energy Battle taping and take my belt. I've got lots to do with this championship, and quite frankly, my reign will truly begin with beating him. Let's be honest, that's what I have to do at the end of the tour- losing this belt is _not_ an option... nor will it ever be."

On the tour thus far:

"I'm digging the atmosphere. Getting this type of experience is just going to help me that much more down the road. It's a very exciting time- the past few months, good or bad, are why I love this business, and this tour is no different. Thanks, ILL!"

On the future:

"All roads lead to the Super Energy Battle taping. After that, well- it's gonna be fun. The whole world's gonna be watching and it's my time to shine."
