News Central Friday May 5, 2006 ================== # Griffin James apologized to Dream Fujin officials after the first night of action at Arena Naucalpan stating that things got out of hand between himself and Monroe. "Yeah, I was pissed at the blind tag- but I should have expected it. Monroe... tends to be a bit of a go-getter, you know? I've been trying to be the bigger man in this situation for what, two tours now... and something tells me that I'm a fool if I keep extending an olive branch to a man that, quite frankly, refuses to get along with me. There's been no attempt to reach some sort of middle ground between us from day one- you can take a look back at my comments from when I started in Dream Fujin and see that for every time I've tried to uh, "show some character growth" as the internet kids say and take the high road concerning him, he doesn't budge. He doesn't waver. It's about all about him, and it's usually at my expense. Who was the main person that had a problem with the match for the Independent Super Light Heavyweight Title? Him. Who's been riding me since he got here concerning every little thing I do? Him. Do I have a problem with that? No. Why don't I have a problem with that? Because I'm facing him at the end of the tour. Like it or not, that's where I'll end it." In closing, James said that he didn't mean to blast Monroe with a Yakuza kick but that he wouldn't apologize saying that, "apologies don't mean a damn thing when the guy you kicked in the chops is incapable of believing a word you say. I'll prove my sincerity in the ring." # Ryoji Mifune reportedly threw a tantrum backstage at Arena Naucalpan after being forced to submit to Griffin James' Legendary Crossface. Mifune kicked one chair across the dressing room and then threw another chair at the wall. When reporters came in to interview him, Mifune demanded that they leave immediately and that he would talk to them in fifteen minutes. Mifune apparently caused more damage after shutting his door, before finally emerging to speak with the press. "I'm sorry," said Mifune. "I hate losing, and I especially hate submitting. Not to mention that the style here in Mexico is bizarre. This 'lucha libre' stuff... it's not pro wrestling. It's a damn circus sideshow act." Mifune then was asked about his opinion of Griffin James, and Mifune lashed out in anger. "He took something very important from me, and that's my pride. And maybe... maybe I'll take something back from him in return. You made me submit, you foreign punk, and you stole my honor. Now I'm going to get something back from you... that's my mission. And I won't do it immediately... I want you to get nervous, I want you to break out in cold sweats in the middle of the night when you have nightmares about what I'll do to you... and then, when you least expect it, it's going to happen." Mifune then went back into his locker room and slammed the door. # The Japanese and Mexican reporters who caught up with "Blinding Storm" Yoshino Nanami immediately after his team lost to Los Gringos Oro saw a side of the normally cool and collected Nanami that they may not want to see again. He became more and more animated as the questions continued, actually walking out before the reporters had finished their questioning. - On his tag team partners, who failed to carry their side of the load... "If Kitty!-san and Miura-san did not want to be there, they should have stayed away from the ring. They were lethargic and not-becoming of the pride the Japanese people have for this sport. Either they get their heads in the game, or they will have them kicked from their necks after the next match." - On the teams failure to take advantage of Los Gringos Oro's dissention... "The gaijin were doing our work for us, and still we could not beat them. That is unacceptable. My father teaches that mistakes are like small cracks; you must pry away at those cracks until the entire structure falls. The next match, if there are any mistakes, I will personally take advantage. I leave it up to my partners to join me in finishing the job. Hopefully they will be fired up by my words next time." - Finally, he was asked about his father's drinking problems and how he was dealing with not having his father with him... "My father... he battled those demons. He overcame them. Yet he still... he still is denied the ability to ply his trade. This is a terrible time for the Nanami clan, and... and..." It was at this point that Yoshino walked out of the interview, as the reporter made mention of rumors that Tatsumi had once again fallen into his old ways, and it was this, not visa problems, that prevented him from coming to Mexico. It appeared that Yoshino was about to strike the reporter, but instead walked out angrily. # Relatively quiet during the current tour, Darkness Kitty!, with Super Darkness Panda, finally spoke out. On his general lacksadasical nature so far this tour: "My means are my own. I did not agree wtih coming to Mexico but now that I am here, I have finally settled in. Super Darkness Panda and myself visited many Mayan and Incan temples on this continent. We stood where sacrifices happened, where hearts were ripped from men's chests to appease the gods. I will do the same to all we oppose in Dream Fujin and here in Mexico. On not being awarded a shot at Griffin James' Super Independent Lightweight Championship: "A disgrace. Billy Thomas would rather give it to filthy foreigners. Perhaps his chest will be the first I rip open! I will prove how wrong he is by targetting Griffin James in our match in Arena Naucalpan. I will raise my club up high and smash his head in!" Super Darkness Panda also intoned his own feelings with a growl, swatting at the air. On his alliance with Shoji Tamura: "Tamura is no leader. We are equals." On the change of Super Orange Panda to Super Darkness Panda: "He is not the last to change. My evil shall reign supreme, my horde shall increase. When my pestilence washes over the lands, it shall be more evil and hating and evil!" On whom he would like to face in Dream Fujin: "Death. I will show him who truly shall be feared." # Message sent through the Dream Fujin official website* Heya! The Black Jesus sending out the good word to the masses. As I have been kicking it in Mexico with DREAM*FUJIN! Tate, Elvis and I have been doing it up, defending the Trinity X titles. I just got off a killer match teaming with the champ, Griffin James and my mates, Tate and Elvis. Good times, with the exception of little tension between Tate and Grif, but otherwise good stuff. Lost a pinfall for my boys though, sucks, as I been struggling with the adjustment to the D*F style. Lucky me, I'm a stubborn old dog, I'll get this down... Eventually. Ty Walker, out. # A video was sent to dreamfujin.com recently, played on their site. It showed Super Darkness Panda (trying to!) live up to his new persona. Well... sort of. [Start feed.] [A gravestone juts out of the ground, tilted menacingly. Weathered by rain and wind, the name enscribed is an afterthought, a remembrance long gone. At the head of this grave, ensconced in all black, shovel in hand, is one Super Darkness Panda. The once crowd favorite digs slowly, tossing a tuft of dirt to the side. He looks up... he sneers.] [The footage changes.] [Lit candles cover every space they can in a small room. Again Super Darkness Panda is in the middle of it, a cross hanging from a chain, dangling from his fingers. He watches it, entranced, kneeling amongst the forest of dim flames.] [Again, the footage changes.] [A single lightbulb hangs from the ceiling. Shrouded in shadows is Super Darkness Panda once again, head tilted downwards. Hanging in one hand is a string of barbed wire. He lifts it slowly, peering at it. It drops down beside him, the other hand lifting to reveal a noose clasped within his grip. He cackles evilly, sneering again.] [End footage.] # HERO Ishikawa has been quite the popular wrestler during the "Hola Fujin Amigos!" tour, gaining surprising support from his fans. A lot of fans are calling for him to return to his tecnico persona but when asked by reporters about such a chance, he replied with a series of crotch chops! Much like Darkness Kitty!, HERO Ishikawa also promised a new recruit to go along side Wasai Thrillblade and promised that the Trinity X Titles would go around their waists very soon! © Dream Fujin, 2006. |
