Match One - Tonaga Trial Series #2:
Ketsu Tonaga vs Steel Cougar

Tonaga's quest to prove his worth continued, and for the second night in a row he came up short. This time it was against a competitor who is barely past the rookie stage himself, Steel Cougar. To say this match was poor would be an understatement. Both wrestlers seemed to be trying hard, but a string of blown spots and hesitation on the part of both men dragged the match down.

Tonaga almost picked up the big win after hitting Cougar with a gutwrench powerbomb, but Cougar kicked out just in time. Tonaga went for the kill with a discus lariat, which Cougar ducked, hitting a tornado DDT for the 3-count.

Winner: Steel Cougar
Time Of Match: 7'41"

Match Two
MIURA, British Steel & Maiden Japan
vs
Yoshino Nanami, Tommy "SILKEN" Kamoura & Kohei Aoki[Free]

The much-changed former monk MIURA, with his new look and attitude, teamed with the Metal Gods to form an unusual combination. Their opponents were the MIURA's long-time rival, Nanami, freelancer Kohei Aoki and the debuting Kamoura.

The Metal Gods provided the comedy with their air guitaring and goofing around, while Nanami and MIURA brought the hate, trying their best to outdo each other. Aoki, a former Fujin Dojo graduate who wrestled briefly as Racer X, was green as all hell and brought the quality of the match down when he was in the ring. Kamoura, on the other hand, showed real potential. His years spent wrestling in Europe have obviously paid off, as he showed some excellent mat wrestling skills.

Kamoura picked up the pinfall to win his Dream Fujin debut, pinning Maiden Japan after a head-spiking brainbuster.

Winners: Nanami/Kamoura/Aoki
Time of Match: 9'20"

Match Three
Tate Monroe & Ty Walker
vs
Akitoshi Yano[RISE] & Jin Ketsumo[RISE]

Two thirds of the Trinity X championship team took on a team of former Dream Fujin wrestlers, who now call Tokyo-based RISE their home. Monroe came to the ring with three title belts - Independent Super-Lightweight, Trinity X and HVW Submission title - while Walker wore his Trinity X belt.

Despite his unpopular and controversial unseating of champion Griffin James in Mexico, Tate Monroe still received good fan support in this match, which may have had more to do with the opposition (who are from another company and are also probably remembered for their part in the attempted MEGA takeover a few months back) than anything else.

Yano and Ketsumo are your run-of-the-mill indy journeymen, and were really no match for the talented gaijin, who are an experienced team by now. Monroe and Walker dominated with quick tags and doubleteam moves, only allowing their opponents brief moments of offence. In the end it was Monroe picking up the win by making Ketsumo tap out to a crucifix kneebar.

Winners: Monroe/Walker
Time Of Match: 11'05"

Match Four
Darkness Kitty! & Ice Dragon
vs
Elvis Sunday & Party Animal Delta

Half of Dream Fujin's newest faction, 666, teamed for the first time to take on the popular afroed Flyin' Hawaiian and masked party animal (tonight in a bizarre zebra-themed outfit), providing a teaser of the Trinity X title match in two days' time, which will see 666 challenge Sunday and his champion teammates, Tate Monroe and Ty Walker.

The hatred between Sunday and Kitty! was plain for all to see as the two teams entered the ring, the two rivals standing chest to chest and snarling at each other. Sunday received a lot of fan support during this match, while Kitty! and Dragon received mixed reactions, and Delta didn't receive much reaction at all, since the fans haven't seen much of him.

The exchanges between Kitty! and Sunday were heated and exciting. Kitty! seemed to be telling his inexperienced teammate what to do, clearly leading his team. Dragon and Delta were clearly a level below their more experienced teammates, which hurt the quality of the match somewhat.

In the end Delta fell victim to Kitty!'s Darkness Bomber (Pyramid Powerbomb), giving the 666 leader a moment to savour, as he and Dragon made the "we want the belts" sign to Sunday after the match.

Winners: Kitty!/Dragon
Time Of Match: 16'22"

Match Four
HERO Ishikawa, Wasai Thrillblade & X
vs
Kyuki Shonjo, Ultraman Zeta & Hasselhoff SE

The first of two matches tonight to feature a mystery "X", this one certainly surprised the fans, and at least one wrestler taking part.

The face team - perennial underdog Shonjo, masked superhero Ultraman and comedy wrestler Hasselhoff SE - came out first. Then MEGA Gurentai - Ishikawa and Thrillblade - made their entrance, wearing matching leather jackets and sunglasses, and HERO got on the microphone to announce their new teammate... Apollo Kid III! The white-masked wrestler came out, and he too was wearing a leather jacket and sunglasses! The look of shock on Shonjo's face was evident, as he watches his mentor and friend climb into the ring. Shonjo approached him, clearly upset and puzzled, asking Apollo what was going on... and receiving a bitchslap for an answer!

MEGA Gurentai then cleared Zeta and Hasselhoff from the ring and went to work on the shocked Shonjo, giving him a rudo working over. Eye rakes, back rakes, boot scrapes, the works! The theme for the rest of the match became MEGA Gurentai in control, all cocky and enjoying themselves, while the young faces tried to mount comeback after comeback, only to be cut off and dominated again by MEGA Gurentai.

Ishikawa, Thrillblade and Apollo Kid showed some nice teamwork, pulling off some great double and triple-team moves, like a camel clutch-double dropkick move on Hasselhoff, and a classic rudo moment when HERO stomped on Shonjo's foot, then Thrillblade jabbed a thumb into his eye and pushed him backwards, where Apollo Kid was on all fours, causing Shonjo to fall flat on his back, where Shonjo made the pin for a close count.

The faces fought back at one point so that Hasselhoff and Zeta could hit stereo topes onto Thrillblade and Ishikawa, then Shonjo hit a superplex on Apollo Kid, but it only got 2 1/2. Shonjo went up top again, but was caught up there by HERO, who hit him with a top rope Uranage! Shonjo was out cold, but Apollo Kid scooped him up, nailing his Apollo Driver (Canadian backbreaker into an Ace Crusher) for the 123.

MEGA Gurentai celebrated their win, drawing polite applause from the fans for their efforts.

Winners: MEGA Gurentai
Time Of Match: 14'31"

MAIN EVENT
Griffin James & X
vs
Ryoji Mifune & X

There was a buzz throughout the arena as main event time arrived. A lot of mystery surrounded this match, with two mystery partners in the line-up.

The first to be revealed was Mifune's partner. Out walked a masked man dressed in a black bodysuit designed to look like a tuxedo and trousers, his black mask featuring pink hearts above the eyes. He was introduced as Kamen Kanoji, his comical look contrasting with the serious attitude of Mifune.

Next out was Griffin James, and the arena fell silent in expectation at who his partner would be. "Parasite" by the Mad Capsule Markets hit the speakers, and a loud "ooohhhh" went up from the crowd as a familiar, yet different looking, figure stepped into view. USAGI YOSHIDA! The former Independent Super Lightweight champion was back! Having recovered from his broken ankle, this was not the "Pink Spider" we'd seen in the past. His formerly-bright pink hair was now red in colour and more groomed than in the past, and Yoshida wore a sleeveless shirt with a version of his logo on it, along with extremely baggy vinyl shorts with a black and red plaid design, black kneepads and red boots with black trim. His face featured black eye makeup and a contact in his right eye that turned it red.

The fans were a little puzzled, but also overjoyed at the return of their favourite son. A loud "YO-SHI-DA" chant went up as he climbed into the ring, joining his best friend and fellow former champion.

Yoshida and Mifune started, and treated the crowd to a few minutes of mat wrestling, with all sorts of submission holds and cradles thrown in for good measure. When James was tagged in for the first time, he brought the pain, dishing out his unique brand of punishment and showing no mercy whatsoever. A killer Yakuza kick looked set to finish the match, Kanoji only just managing to break up the pin and save the match for his team.

Yoshida tagged back in, and engaged in some comedy with Kanoji, mainly based around Kanoji trying to run away from his formidable opponent, even leaping into Uncle Dai's arms a couple of times, which drew harsh words from the official.

The serious tone returned for the closing minutes, as all four wrestlers entered the fray. The action was all over the place, but the crucial moment came when Mifune and Kanoji tried to whip Yoshida and James into each other, but James baseball slid between Usagi's legs, leaping back to his feet and dropkicking Mifune from the ring. At the same time Yoshida tried to kick Kanoji, but the masked man turned tail and dived from the ring in fear! Yoshida and James were left in the ring, in a position of dominance, James grinning and looking for a fist-bump... when suddenly Yoshida dropped to one knee and applied his patented crotch claw to James!

The fans reacted with loud surprise, as James' mouth dropped open not only with pain, but also with complete shock! Mifune and Kanoji came back into the ring, nailing James with a double facedriver, before dragging James up so that Yoshida could nail his tombstone piledriver, a large number of boos now filling the arena.

Mifune made the cover, getting the three count, before joining Yoshida and Kanoji in posing over the fallen American. James tried to fight back, but was quickly overpowered again under a barrage of kicks and punches. Yoshida got on the microphone and went into a tirade against James, saying his former friend had showed no loyalty during Yoshida's injury lay off, and had been more interested in succeeding him as champion than helping him rehabilitate and recover.

Finally, Yoshida announced his new group as Special X, a name that he and others have used before in puroresu. More posing for the cameras followed.

Winners: Mifune/Kanoji
Time Of Match: 8'20"

Overall comments:

- The return of Usagi Yoshida took everyone by surprise, and his turn against former friend Griffin James was even more shocking. James was already in a bad mood after being screwed out of the title, so what is this latest slap in the face going to do to the American's state of mind?

- Several factions have formed already on this tour, including 666, Special X and MEGA Gurentai. Could others be in the cards?

- Dream Fujin takes the night off tomorrow, before returning on Monday night at Sugaidinos in the city of Obihiro. The main event of that show sees Tate Monroe, Elvis Sunday and Tyrone Walker defend the Trinity X titles against the 666 team of Darkness Kitty!, Super Darkness Panda and MIURA.
