====================

Following the Sugaidinos Obihiro show, Dream Fujin officials caught up with Griffin James, who was with Miss Cherry and Crazy Bastard Cop... the following is a loose transcript:

"Is this new look permanent?"

JAMES: You know, I don't... well, the look fits what needs to be done right now. I don't care if it's too gimmicky, I don't care if folks think I'm trying too hard to fit in- it is what it is. There's a meaning behind all of it. This is just another step in my career.

[Crazy Bastard Cop has an interpreter.]

CBC: I don't like your gloves.

JAMES: [laughing] What?

CBC: Too blatant. Is the "WAR" lettering raised?

[Laughter.]

JAMES: ...yeah, why?

CBC: You can tattoo it on their foreheads when you beat them to death.

CHERRY: Then they'll have to look in a mirror to see it.

CBC: Not if they're dead.

"What do you think about Usagi Yoshida's claims that the Independent Super Light-Heavyweight Title match in a couple of days is worthless?"

JAMES: You know, we gotta stop being all about "gaijin vs. Japanese wrestlers"; for fuck's sake, it's the year 2006. The world's diverse. I thought Yoshida would have brought more to the table- but hell, at this point, he should just dye his hair blonde and call himself a Super Saiyajin... and yes, I've seen Dragon Ball Z before America raped it, so I know what that metaphor means. Seriously, he just wants some leverage and he's gonna say and do whatever to get it.

CBC: Yoshida didn't have to blow bubblegum, you know... but now, suddenly... he doesn't like that he did it? Free will would help him a lot.

"Do you hate Usagi Yoshida?"

JAMES: Nope. This business is corrupt. What I say is one thing, what he says is different yet right in his own worldview. If this is the stance he wants to take, then this is the stance he's gonna take. I'm not going to mince meat about this- when I said I wanted my friend back, I meant it. When I said that matches were for him, I meant it. It's all on him, and if he had a problem with things, he knew where to find me. End of story. Now, he's a different man and he doesn't play by the usual rules, but neither do I. I'm willing to show up to each and every show- not because I have an "ego", but because things need to be set to rights.

"What about your match for the Independent Super Light-Heavyweight Title?"

JAMES: I need to prove myself again. Regardless of what happened, that belt is _not_ around my waist, so as a champion I failed. But now I know just how far someone will go in order to get their little bit of glory.... now I know just exactly what type of scum I'm dealing with... but in the end, I'm not that type of person. I'm not some American, and I damn sure am not some gaijin looking to run amok on Dream Fujin.

I'm Griffin James.

Everything else is inconsequential.... in the end, I _will_ get my title back, and it will be put back on the pedestal that it rightfully belongs.

_The industry's_.

"Are you looking forward to the upcoming tag match?"

JAMES: Hell yeah. Finally, Crazy Bastard Cop's ba-

[At this point, Crazy Bastard Cop grabbed the mic from James.]

CBC: Nothing means more to me than getting back in that ring! But, with the way things are going... this isn't right....

[There were murmurs in the gathered press, as CBC said...]

CBC: ...you deserve the truth.

[And with that, Crazy Bastard Cop walked out.]

- Ryoji Mifune met with the press following his one-on-one loss to Griffin James, with Kamen Kanoji, carrying a set of electric hair clippers. He sat down in a chair and handed the clippers to Kanoji, and proclaimed that he was ready to officially become a member of Special X. As he stared stoically at the members of the press, Kanoji proceeded to shave Mifune's shaggy black hair into a mohawk. As Kanoji put the finishing touches on the mohawk, Mifune, covered in sweat and his own hair, said that now he was fed up with fighting clean, and would do whatever it takes to propel himself and Special X to the top. When asked if this meant he would return to his previous deathmatch route, he shrugged his shoulders and said, "the world will see the best of both Ryoji Mifunes" before walking away.
