# Special X met with the press after the 6/23 show. Here are highlights of the interview.

Q: "How does it feel to pick up your first win as a trio?"

Usagi Yoshida: "Great, obviously. We ran off that coward Tate Monroe in fear and proved to the world that we're worthy of main event spots. I think we should officially petition for a Trinity-X challenge, eh?"

Ryoji Mifune: "Yeah, definitely. The current champs can't even get along."

Kamen Kanoji: "I could always used a good accessory. Every girl loves a well-dressed man, right?"

Q: "Yoshida, what do you think about Griffin James' recent statements about you?"

Yoshida: "I think that I pinned him today, so whatever bullshit he's complaining about is obviously that... bullshit. He said that I was trying to make this into foreigners versus Japanese... well, of course he's not going to complain about a conspiracy to keep good talent down. Maybe if he wasn't trying so hard to prove himself worthy to the Japanese fans, he would've noticed my point... the three-way title match is worthless not only because it's three Americans, two of which are trying to be Japanese anyway, competing for the title, and not only because a title should never be contested in a three-way match, but because the rightful champion is not represented. I never should've been stripped of the belt, and as far as I'm concerned, I'm still the real champion."

Q: "How do you feel about his other comments?"

Yoshida: "Meh. His words ring hollow to me. That's all I feel I need to add."

Q: "Mifune, you have used a new style, a hybrid of martial arts and jisatsu wrestling, since shaving your hair into a mohawk following your singles loss to Griffin James. Do you think it has helped you thusfar?"

Mifune: "Yes. My easy victory tonight proves it. I think part of me was missing when I abandoned my previous style, and I fully intend to regain my form."

Q: "Kanoji, what are your goals here in Dream Fujin?"

Kanoji: "Win titles and meet many gorgeous ladies, of course. Not that they can resist me anyway, right? That's why I have to wear this mask!"

Q: "There seems to be a lot of new factions forming in Dream Fujin. MEGA Gurentai and 666, as well as yourselves. How do you feel about that?"

Kanoji: "They can't beat us in the sexiness department. We're three quite attractive dudes."

Yoshida: "HERO Ishikawa called us pretenders to his little group, and he claimed that they deserve respect because theyr'e trueborns to this group. So what? They're also the ones that ran off after the first tour."

Mifune: "Yeah, they don't seem to have a lot of guts."

Yoshida: "Something else that sets us apart is that we don't really have a leader. Mifune, Kanoji, and I are all equals in this. I may be the most outspoken, but that's because Mifune does his talking in the ring for the most part, and Kanoji's too busy trying to scope out chicks."

Kanoji: "I don't know how you can deal with just one girl, man."

Yoshida: "... anyway, we're a solid unit here, and I fully intend on making every single stride to prove that we are the dominant force in not just Dream Fujin, but the world. Any team that wants to try us is welcome, because I guarantee that Special X will be ready."

# Dream Fujin officials have been able to catch up with Griffin James and Ryoga Miike... somewhat. What follows is a loose transcript concerning the two over the past few days:

About Miike's unmasking, and the legacy of Crazy Bastard Cop:

GJ: I wasn't expecting it. For him to throw the bulk of his career aside... it's pretty much mind boggling. For him to do that for the sake of our friendship, well- personally, it means a lot. I still don't know what's going on, except... hell, I guess I have _one_ friend around here.

RM: [through an interpreter] "Crazy Bastard Cop" has been and always will be. That much is simple... but going forward, I _cannot_ hide behind a mask. True colors are being shown. Griffin James is my friend- he was there for me when I was hurt just like he was there for Usagi Yoshida, only there's a difference. I can freely acknowledge the fact that a "gaijin" would befriend me in such a manner, while Usagi? He has no memory of Griffin wishing that his "friend was here" while he was on tour. For me, it was always certain that _I'd_ come back, with the Crazy Bastard Cop persona in tow or not... but Yoshida was always the wild card. No one knew. If he wasn't supposed to be out for four months, then why didn't he say anything? Why didn't he notify the officials? This goes beyond hatred... this is something much more personal. He's sacrificed Dream Fujin's honor in order for personal glory, and I won't stand for that. I will stand with Griffin James through the end times- I can _guarantee_ it.

About the Fujingun revival:

GJ: We need to be united- I'm not saying this as an outsider, I'm saying this as a _wrestler_. We need to put our best foot forward, and we need to look beyond every single dividing line- race, size, orientation, and nationality. I came here to be the best that I can, and for me- Fujingun represents that. _Dream Fujin_ represents that... otherwise, Billy Thomas wouldn't have given me my shot.

RM: We are what we are. We _are_ Fujingun. Others might come up behind us, but we have to move forward and keep the banner waving. I still believe in us and what we stand for, and I won't stop.

About the future:

RM: I have to establish myself. I have nothing to hide behind, so my abilities in the ring have to speak for myself and what I can do for the industry. I just hope that I can impact Dream Fujin the way previous champions have.

GJ: I've been through a pretty rough road- one that most wrestlers can't handle. I've been jumped at every turn and slandered by everyone in the press. It doesn't matter- the only thing that matters is _Dream Fujin_. I _will_ put this _organization_ on the pedestal it properly deserves... I don't care how long it takes, but I _will_ do it.

RM: We're going to go all the way, yeah?

GJ: Goddamned right.

# Earlier today Dream Fujin competitor Party Animal Delta posted the following message on his LiveJournal site:

Last week I did an interview with Dream Fujin reporters about my recent lack of success in Dream Fujin. During that particular interview, I had mentioned the fact that I made a goal to score a victory over a member of the newly formed 666 faction some time in the near future. To date, that has yet to become a reality. However, anybody that has read the results of the recent Takikawa Youth Center Show knows that 666 has apparently taken note of these comments, and turned some of their antics on everybody's favorite Party Animal.

After besting me yet again in a six-man tag team match that saw me paired up with Nanami and Hasselhoff SE, they attempted to make matters personal by tearing a hole both in my mask and that of the heartthrob of the German ladies everywhere. I suppose their intentions were to piss me off and make this matter personal - but then that just proves that they don't understand who the man behind the mask is.

For me, this mask is just a part of a costume. It is not a part of my identity, like it is for so many other wrestlers here in Japan. It is just an outfit to make the kids smile, make the fans laugh, and to help assimilate me to the culture of wrestling here in The Land of the Rising Son. By tearing my mask, you only exposed part of the face of the man beneath - a man who isn't tassels and fringe - but a man that is heart, determination, and pride.

So nice try guys, but your attempts failed.

But I see where you're going with this. Trying to work me into a frenzy. Trying to get my mind in such a state that I won't be able to keep my focus when we do lock horns again. But trust me when I say it is going to take a hell of alot more than some cheep heel tactics to manage that.

I've set a goal, and I will be damned if I don't achieve it.

Darkness Kitty! Super Darkness Panda! Ice Dragon! MUIRA! Before too long, be it one on one or in multi-man battle, you will fall at the hands of The Party Animal. Right now my sights are dead set on you, and when we step in the ring I can guarantee you that I will bring my A-game, in search of that victory.

But if just a match is not good enough for you and you want to make this a war - then you've got some more work to do boys. You got to put your collective heads together and figure out what it truly takes to get under my skin. But my advise to you is do _not_ go there. Because if you make the mistake of crossing that line. If you do take this from the realm of professionalism into a personal environment. I promise you .. I swear to you on everything that I hold dear in my life .. it will be the last mistake you ever make.

# Uncharacteristic in his silence these past few days, the Independent Super-Lightweight Champion, Tate Monroe, again appeared to be in an agitated and uncommunicative mood on the morning of his vital first title defense against Griffin James and Elvis Sunday. Monroe once more refused any and all questions from the press, stating only that he would speak once his title had been successfully defended.

- Speculation in the locker room as to the cause of Monroe's ill mood focused primarily on him having been stripped of the Trinity X championship, along with (former?) partners Elvis Sunday and Tyrone Walker. Having made a point of wearing all three (now two, and one of those of a possibly defunct American organization) championship belts in his posession, rumor is that Monroe has not taken kindly to having his title haul reduced by company decree. Most notably he was said by some to have made some particularly disparaging comments towards Elvis Sunday, who's negative attitude towards Monroe's title victory over Griffin James he apparently believes was a major factor in the decision by Kazushima Yakamotu to declare the Trinity X titles vacant.

- Other interesting talk from the locker room rumormill is that perhaps, even this early into his reign, Monroe may be buckling under the strain of carrying the top title in Dream Fujin. Not only are Griffin James and Elvis Sunday breathing down his neck, but also the returning Usagi Yoshida, who has made his intentions towards the Independent Super-Lightweight title, and also his thoughts on the current champion, well known. And of course it's easy to forget that for all his accomplishments in Dream Fujin and the U.S, Monroe is a young man still in his first year as a professional wrestler, and truly may not have been prepared for the intense pressure and scrutiny that goes hand in hand with the role of a company champion, something that ironically his bitter rival Griffin James could teach him a thing or two about.
