News Central Friday July 14, 2006 ======================= # Special X sat down with the press, breaking a surprising silence, following the 7/12 show at Tokyo Differ Ariake, where Usagi Yoshida and Ryoji Mifune picked up their first win in the Dream World Tag League. Surprisingly missing from the interview was Kamen Kanoji, who, as Yoshida explained, was out on a date "with six strippers and a priestess", which drew laughter from the press corps. QUESTION: "A lot has happened since the last time you two spoke with the media. Let's start with the Dream World Tag League. What are your feelings on that?" Usagi Yoshida: "There's a lot of talent involved, but I think Ryoji and I have the best chance out of anyone to make it to the finals. We're a better team, plus we hold gold here in Dream Fujin already." Ryoji Mifune: "I honestly don't think there's anyone in the league that we can't beat. We'll do just fine." QUESTION: "What is your opinion on your recent trip to America, for Project X Wrestling?" Mifune: "That six-sided ring business was confusing." Yoshida: "We were on seperate teams and there was the chance that we could have ended up wrestling each other, but Ryoji and Kanoji went out in the quarterfinals and Misaki and I went out in the semis, both against the team that eventually won the thing, so I guess it was a little disappointing. Like Ryoji said, neither one of us were used to the hexagonal ring, and that probably threw us off our gameplan more than we had anticipated, but we had a good showing and we'd love to go back if the opportunity allows." QUESTION: "Yoshida, how do you feel about the comments made by Tate Monroe towards you?" Yoshida: "He called me 'undeserving', didn't he?" [Mifune nods.] Yoshida: "That made me laugh so much it made my back hurt. Monroe, the only, and I mean the _only_ reason you hold that belt today is because it was stolen from me. I never lost it in the ring, and I have made a claim to be the rightful champion, so as far as I, and the Special X fans, are concerned, that's my belt. And hey, Tate, you want me to make you look _really_ bad? Remember January 28? Oh, wait, you don't, that because I choked you out in my first defense of the belt. So let's see... I never lost the belt, haven't been offered a rematch, have beaten both the guy who took my spot _and_ the guy he lost the belt to... yet I'm 'undeserving'. Ha. Funny. You know what? Interview's over. We've got a tournament to win." # Rookie Kyuki Shonjo spoke to Nippon Sports backstage at Tokyo Differ Ariake last night, and addressed his match against the Jigoku Monsters. "I speak on behalf of my fellow Fujingun brothers when I say that we will not stand by and let these monstrosities run amok in our great company. We are united against the Jigoku Monsters and will destroy them, sending them back to whatever magical dimension they come from!" # Fresh off a successful trios match, MEGA Gurentai, in force, gave a quick interview to gathered reporters. As usual HERO Ishikawa spoke for them... and this is heavily editted! "BLEEP THEM BLEEPERS UP THE BLEEP! We are the champions, just give us the BLEEPING BLEEP belt BLEEPS!" He continued in an explicitive tirade, leaving the room still swearing and cursing. Thrillblade stepped in, quietly whispering to the reporters before being called out by his leader, "Never had a coffee this morning." # Darkness Kitty! was once again the victim of vandalism! Fans remember how his initial debut in Dream Fujin was riddled with acts against him and his locker room, apparently initiated by a group of odd creations made by Doctor Zero, the same man who apparently 'created' Darkness Kitty! This time the act was even more heinous, a ton of Sanrio posters being taped to his locker room! They were plastered in droves, sending poor Kitty! into convulsions. The rest of 666 had to carry him away, demanding a new room. © Dream Fujin, 2006. |
