BASTARD STAMPEDE MONDAY FIGHTS ------------------------------ July 10th, 2006 At: Max Belle Centre in Calgary, Alberta, Canada "THE NATURAL" J.R. CASH vs PAT HAGMAN ----------------------------------------- Frustrated with his lack of success, J.R. Cash came to the arena with one thing on his mind. Victory. He cut an interview before his match claiming that he was going to get back to basics. No more flash and a lot more substance. So come the time for his match, he delivered. Pat Hagman put up a decent effort but it seemed that Cash's determination alone dominated this one on one contest. WINNER: J.R. Cash TRACY SAXON vs. AKEYLA RUIZ ----------------------------------------- While still young and a little green, Tracy Saxon was highly tauted as a young woman with a lot of talent and even more potential. Though she had a match in Bastard Stampede before, people were clammoring for her to get a singles contest. So here she was, ready to take on another young up and coming talent, Akeyla Ruiz. The match was slow with a few bad spots but both women grew more comfortable in the ring as the matchp went along. After a long series of chain wrestling, Tracy took Ruiz down with a side Russian leg sweep and hooked the leg to get a surprising three count. WINNER: Traxy Saxon GREG "THE ICEMAN" SMITH vs. LAURENCE DUFFY ----------------------------------------- The crowd was hungry for some action from the Iceman and they reacted wildly when he arrived. Dressed in his old school atire [including better fitting leather pants], he hit the ring and wasted no time in blowing Laurence Duffy up. The match itself was quick and the Icepick devastating. But the ringbell didn't even finish dinging before Jonas Elm was at the entrance ramp calling Smith out on the house microphone. Smith stepped out of the ring and quickly came up the ramp but security somehow managed to keep them separated, much to the annoyance of the Bastard Stampede crowd. WINNER: Greg Smith XANDER KEEGAN vs. KOHL RYCOFF ----------------------------------------- Both of these men were quick to draw heat from the crowd. Rycoff for his brash behavior and Keegan for his arrogance. The two locked up in the ring and traded takedowns and punches for quite a while. Keegan gained the first real advantage of the match, hitting a spinebuster. Rycoff turned it around with a swinging neckbreaker but he'd quickly lose his momentum after a missed flying forearm followed by a Shining Wizard from Keegan. With everything under control, Keegan pulled off the X-Crush and sealed his victory. WINNER: Xander Keegan BACKSTAGE ----------------------------------------- The Bastard Stampede camera crew caught up with Kara "Gecko" Tawn and talked to her about her match last week against Tamara Jackson and Black Madision. She said that she wasn't worried about getting another title shot but she was more concerned about getting back at Black Madison. And wouldn't you know, the devil herself arrived. Black Madison pushed the interviewer aside and got right into Tawn's face. They jawed for a bit before two imposing figures stepped in behind Tawn. Sky Slasher and the Shifter Before Tawn could get away or react, Black Madison laid her out and threw her into the set. ky Slaher and the Shifter pulled Tawn up and held her while Black Madison vicously attacked her. Security arrived to settle the situation down, but the three attackers only left upon beating Tawn to their satisfaction. THE BASH BROTHERS vs. THE WIDOWMAKERS ----------------------------------------- It was an unadulterated brawl between these two teams. Krow and Blackrock shook the very ring as they slammed one another to the mat and into the corner turnbuckles. Suicide stayed relativly grounded thanks to the efforts by Darklin Skullhead but Darklin's maneuverability was affected greatly by Suicide's speed. The referee fought to maintain order but decideded that this was yet another match best left to go a little wild. The end came when Krow attempted a powerbomb on Suicide but the Widowmaker rolled through with a hurricanrana and used the ropes to keep Krow pinned. After getting the win, the Widowmakers made a hasty exit. WINNER: The Widowmakers #1 CONTENDER'S MATCH FOR THE WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP "RIGHTEOUS" ROBIN RHOADES vs. KYRA BRADDOCK ----------------------------------------- Robin Rhoades made no friends this night. First she came out, trashed all the fans for being poor excuses for human beings and then trashed her opponent Kyra Braddock. She used all the old standbys about Kyra's English heritage, including bad teeth and bad food. But Kyra was unphased and went right to work once the ref called for the match to begin. Kyra started strong, surprising Rhoades with her quick strikes. Robin however was not above using any means neccesary to gain the upperhand in the match. Rhoades hit Kyra with her signature Robin Buster several times but it wasn't enough to keep Kyra down for a three count. Robin could not get off her finisher either as Kyra moved too fast for her. Robin went defensive once Kyra really started to hit her stride. Robin was still very oppurtunistic. Kyra rolled Robin into a small package only to have ir reversed. Robin grabbed a hand full of tights for good measure to secure the victory. Robin laughed as she exited the ring but judging by the look on Kyra's face, she wasn't done with Rhoades by a longshot. WINNER: Robin Rhoades "SWIFT" MARK EVERETT vs. THE SHIFTER ----------------------------------------- Mark Everett was aprehensive about facing the Shifter. Not because he felt he would lose but because he knew the Sky Slasher would be somehow involved. And if that were truly the case, he wasn't sure if he was going to hold back. Everett wanted a piece of the Slasher badly and if he had to go through the Shifter to get him, then so be it. Everett waited patiently as the Shifter, oddly enough, came out alone. Everett looked around for any sign of foul play but could see none. The match began and Everett took it to the Shifter right from the get go. The Shifter seemed unprepared for the onslaught but with a weird jerk of his body, his very style of wrestling changed... or shifted if you will. From there on out Shifter made a greater effort in offensive striking. Later on, the Shifter's body jerked again, and his style switched to a more power and brawling based attack. Everett's speed was sapped but he kept pulling back from the brink of defeat. The Shifter would switch styles several times throughout the match but Everett did well to adapt. Finally, with Mark riding a huge wave of momentum both Sky Slasher and Black Madison appeared. Madison tripped Everett up and when Mark turned to confront her, Slasher struck with a loaded punch to the face. Everett staggered and was taken down by the Shifter. He covered and took the three count. WINNER: The Shifter After the match, Madison and the Sky Slasher joined the Shifter inside the ring to continue attacking Everett. Kara Tawn ran down to assist by going after Black Madison but she too fell victim to the assault. The show closed with Madison, the Shifter and Sky Slasher standing victorious over the fallen bodies of Everett and Tawn. |
