News Central Tuesday September 12 ================= # Ring of Fire Wrestling officials are said to be encouarged by the television ratings of their first televised show, "Rebirth in Fire". The show did a 1.5 rating on the TNT network in the US, mainly out of curiosity about this new venture. The rating is expected to climb as word gets out, and with heavier promotion based around household names like Juan Vasquez (who was a surprise participant on the first show). The show also did well in Mexico and Canada, but drew mediocre ratings in Japan, Australia and New Zealand, giving the company something to aim for. # Who attacked Griffin James during the main event in Los Angeles? The camera failed to capture an image of the attacker, and the only person who definitely knows his identity is James himself. Griffin was released from hospital a few hours after "Rebirth in Fire" wrapped up, and so far his lips have been sealed. Will he reveal who the attacker is, and if so, when will he do it? # Several minor changes have been made to the line-ups for RoFW's next three shows, to accomodate the involvement of new signings Lethal TOKYO and Gordon McDaniels, and an injury suffered by Eric Dane. The nature of Dane's injury is unknown, but he is expected to be out for at least the next month. In San Diego, McDaniels will take Dane's place against American luchador Sky Supreme, and TOKYO is added in a match against local journeyman Brian Gilbert. In Tijuana, the Steve Greedy vs HiLite Kid match is altered into a tagteam match, with McDaniels and TOKYO combining to take on Greedy and rudo luchador Crotalo Negro, while the scheduled Jaiden Andrews vs Eric Dane match is changed to Andrews vs HiLite Kid. On the televised show in Mexico City, the scheduled Dane/Negro vs Panda/Shadows match becomes TOKYO/McDaniels vs Panda/Shadows. © Ring of Fire Productions, 2006 |
