News Central Saturday September 16 ===================== # Jaiden Andrews surprised many in his return match against Steve Greedy, using tactics not normal for him in his victory. However, it was the post-match brawl that got the most buzz, as the stiff strikes and submission style of Andrews showed a fiercer, more focused side of the California native. "I'm out to show that I really never left," Andrews was quoted as saying on wrestling website SoCalIndyScene.com. "I'm as driven as ever, and I want to make up for the time I lost." When asked about the bribe he took from Greedy, Andrews laughed. "That was a tough act to do, something I did on the fly. I can't believe Greedy fell for my less than Academy Award performance. But now I've got some new clothes, a new watch, and a brand new iPod all thanks to the 'Rich One.'" The question still remains as to what Greedy will try and do as revenge, but with both men in the same match at Baptism By Fire we might get an answer. # According to a source at SoCalIndyScene.com, the newest Ring of Fire signee, Gordon McDaniels, was spotted in Los Angeles yesterday sparring at the Strong Style Dojo. Having recently returned from an extended tour of Europe, tonight's show in San Diego will mark the youngster's first North American appearance since his sudden departure from NEXT a few months back. While he was unavailable for comment, sources close to McDaniels believe that he was actually visiting the dojo to catch up on things with his former acquaintance and fellow Ring of Fire Wrestling competitor, Jaiden Andrews. When McDaniels found out Andrews wasn't there, he decided to hop in the ring and have some fun against some of Andrews' students. Fellow Strong Style Trainer, Travis Cade, was on hand and had this to say about the upstart sensation: "He wrestles great now. He's got a definite catch as catch can, European style edge to him, a style I love myself. Let me tell you, the students here hate my uppercuts.. or did until they felt his. He's showing more poise, more confidence. If not for this broken arm I'd be right at his side in Ring of Fire." That's a huge compliment coming from a former member of the US Olympic Team. Hopefully we'll be able to get more of a reaction from McDaniels, as he is scheduled to be on "The Morning Drive" on WKLM in San Diego next Monday. © Ring of Fire Productions, 2006 |
