- Miike and McDaniels fought a clean, competitive match, shaking hands before the bell and battling to a time limit draw. Miike attempted to involve weapons (a chair and a table) at several points, but the referee stopped him every time.

- World champion Monroe and regular teammate Nanami made easy work of their Australian opponents. Monroe seemed content to let Nanami have most of the spotlight, "Blinding Storm" wearing down the Aussies with his hard strikes and stiff offence.

- During Monroe's match, Juan Vasquez came out and observed from the aisleway. He stooged it up with the crowd a bit, starting chants and even getting the crowd to do the wave at one stage. Monroe became upset, demanding that Vasquez be sent backstage because he was causing too much of a distraction. Juan did leave, but not before grabbing and holding up a fan's sign that read "TATE FEARS WAFFLES". A chant of "WAFFLES!" began around the arena, not really making sense, but it was funny.

- Lethal TOKYO and Jaiden Andrews thrilled the fans during their match, but the 666 duo of Kitty and Shadows put in a well-below-par performance. Both TOKYO and Andrews pulled out amazing highflying moves.

- Steve Greedy tried his usual trick, offering Vasquez money to lie down at the beginning of the match. Juan didn't refuse the money outright, considering it for a moment... before he reached into his own pocket and pulled out an equally-large wad of bills, then motioned for Greedy to lay down! The crowd was in stitches, but Greedy wasn't amused. He rejected the offer, which in turn offended Vasquez, who bitchslapped Greedy for his insolence!

- Perhaps sending a message to Tate Monroe, Vasquez wrestled a dominant, grounded technical sytle with elements of brawling. He caught Greedy with his right cross after ducking a lariat and then nailed him with an STO, playing to the crowd and then planted Greedy with the City of Angels for the win. Afterwards, Juan took Greedy's money from his trunks and began throwing it into the crowd. This went on for a while, before Greedy went out and began taking it back from the fans. Juan reached into his pocket and pulled his own money out again, acting like he was about to toss it into the crowd. But he decided not to throw it, drawing a bunch of boos. Juan got on the house mic and apologized, telling the fans "No use starting a riot over a few dollars, folks. Hell, see me after the show...'cause drinks are on me!" That drew a huge pop, and you know what? Juan Vasquez didn't lie. He did buy everyone drinks later!

- Wrestling in front of his home crowd brought out a different side of Tumaffi tonight. He opened the show by getting in the ring and talking on the house mic. He told the Samoan fans he would fight for them tonight and show them that Samoa could be proud of their most famous son.

- As for the match against Panda, it was essentially a squash, although Tumaffi did seem to be trying to extend it, to give his home fans a good show. That meant playing to the crowd a lot more than usual, and even rolling from the ring at times to interact with the fans. He also fought cleanly (although no less brutally than usual), using the Tidal Wave (big splash) to get the pin. Panda had to be taken from the arena on a stretcher as a result.

- After the show, Tumaffi stuck around to sign autographs for the fans. A lot of other wrestlers were spotted outside the building posing for photographs, signing autographs and meeting fans. One unofficial report had most of the wrestlers partying into the small hours at a number of Apia nightclubs, and there are unsubstantiated reports of Ring of Fire officials having to pay for damage at at least one of them.
