10 Count With Bob Wire This week's guest: HVW President Jeff Stewart. BW: Okay, Jeff, we'll start you out with an easy one: what's your favorite movie of all time? JS: Oh, geez, oh... Well, I guess that I'd have to go with Back to the Future Part III here. I just love those gritty old Westerns, you know, those movies that really show you how rough and rowdy it was in the old days. I used to wish I was Marty McFly, off traveling through time with my pal Doc and having all sorts of adventures... But I guess that's never going to happen. BW: Now that you're warmed up, how do you think the past three shows have been? JS: Excellent. Absolutely fabulous. It only took three cards for HVW to become the most talked about territory in the business. Michigan wrestling is back, baby! Back with a vengeance. BW: What are your thoughts on Do or Die? JS: I think... I think it's going to be the kind of show where, as a fan, I'm going to want to go home afterwards and stay up until 3 o'clock in the morning talking with all of my friends about it, like, "Can you believe what Juan Vasquez did, he's a tough son of a gun!" or "That Tim Sanders, Wow!" or "Those guys in Team Vicensi, boy, they sure can kick some butt!". This is the kind of show that is going to send the fans home happy, and boy, is it ever going to make our competitors angry. BW: You mention your competition. What is your opinion on the rumors regarding the Buckeye Wrestling Federation. JS: No comment. I take the fifth. I don't like the idea at all. BW: Okay... How has it been working with The Gremlin? We know that he bought out the GLCW and built HVW on its shoulders, so to speak - we also know that you and he haven't always gotten along. JS: I'll admit we didn't always get along, but I think that we see eye to eye on this whole HVW thing - we're like two peas in a pod, two brains combined in one...massive...skull, look, the point is, he's a fan, I'm a fan, and that's all that matters. That and the success of the company. And the happiness and satisfaction of the people. Those are the things that matter. BW: Do you have any favorite HVW stars? JS: God, that's like asking me to pick my favorite child! Yes, I do have some favorites. I stand by the decision to make Juan Vasquez the first HVW champion, though admittedly he got off to a rocky start here, I think he's found his bearings and is going to be holding onto that title for a long time to come. I also enjoy watching Team Dear God every week, not because of their intensity, well, because of their intensity, but also because of Carla Shade, I think she brings a sort of angelic quality to the team, it's sort of like, I find myself sitting there watching her guys compete and I'm thinking "Dear God, that's violent! Dear God, that's brutal! Dear God, her skin just glistens under the ring lights!". Suffice it to say it's an intense experience. BW: ... What about Rob Christie? We've heard all sorts of rumors regarding his being suspended, his being admitted into rehab, a mental ward... Can you shed any light on this situation? JS: No, I can't. I can but I will not. BW: Alright, fair enough... Is there any talent that you'd like to see some of the managers in HVW sign? JS: Oh, gosh, is there... I'd like to see Caleb Temple come in, I've always liked those dark, spooky kind of guys who you think just need a hug but you know that they might stab you in the back with a knife covered in animal feces... I'm sorry. That's an inappropriate comment for this interview. Anyways. I'd also like to see maybe, I don't know, Sam Willis and Tommy James coming out of retirement would make me "pop it like it's hot", ha ha. Besides those guys, I am really more interested in managers scouting out hot up and coming talent. BW: Do you see HVW expanding in the future? JS: No. We may hold our events in larger venues, we may even sign a contract to permanently hold our shows in the same two or three venues, but we're staying right here. We're staying loyal to the great fans in the area. They are the ones responsible for making us great, and leaving them now would be like, well, I've already made my knife analogy. BW: One last question: do you have anything you'd like to say to any competing promotions or promoters out there? JS: I do, and it's this: Have a little chicken soup, maybe drink some tea, get plenty of rest and take your vitamins, because HVW fever is spreading like the plague, only instead of killing people it's infecting them with the power of love, so you better check yourself, since it's only a matter of time before you too catch the fever. Continuing Fall-Out over "Tough Love" Incident Yes, the fallout from the "Tough Love" incident involving The V-Funk All-Stars continues. According to one staff member of HVW (who asked to remain anonymous): "Dupree was seriously pissed off over the whole thing. I mean, the guy never seems at a loss for words, y'know? But after the whole beat-down thing, the rest of the All Stars helped him to the back and he just went off. I've heard some pretty intense tirades but this was off the scale, y'know?" Another HVW talent added: "He just stormed out of the building. The management was actually in a bit of panic because he was set to be part of the 6-man match later and they didn't know if he was coming back or not. It was pretty unprofessional of him to leave like that, but I guess I give him props for coming back." The newest information though is that Dupree may not even show up for Do Or Die. Initially reports were that Dupree was going to have Juan Vasquez on The Fashion Show, but now HVW management has confirmed that the Fashion Show is *not* scheduled to be on Do or Die. Fabian Dupree could not be reached for comment. |

10 Count with Bob Wire This week's guest: "Dying Breed" Jack Snyder BW: You claim to be a "Dying Breed", the last of the real man's man. How do you let a woman run your stable and boss you around? JS: Listen up, and don't get me wrong I've grown to love that crazy bitch, BUT... I think you hit the nail right on the head. I _let_ her run TDG. BW: Okay, okay... How long until we see Heavyweight gold around your waist? JS: Bob, you've been in this business a long time. Long enough to know that's not a question I can answer. I will say though, and you can bet the farm on this... When they give me a shot, I'll win it. BW: What do you think about the potential of having to face off with one of your own teammates for a chance at the title? JS: Fine with me. TDG is a unit. A stable, a family, a gang, a clan, a crew, an army... call us what you want, we're the epitome of the word team. I can honestly say I'll be happy when the belt's in our hands no matter who holds it. And it _will_ be in our hands. If it comes down to me and another TDGer, well... you can bet I'll pull out all the stops. I'll scratch, claw, bite... I'll do whatever it takes, and I hope whoever my opponent is will do the same. May the best man win, that's what I say, 'cause usually the best man is me. BW: You have just been named, in an unofficial sort of way I suppose, HVW's MVP for 2005. Any thoughts on that? JS: You want my thoughts? I think it's great. I think it's mainly a testament to what Team Dear God was able to accomplish at Do or Die, and to have been a major player in that success makes me proud. I also think that if the HVW suits are calling me their MVP _now_... they've got a lot to look forward to. 'Cause, quite frankly, they ain't seen nothin' yet. BW: With your quick rise to fame here in the States, do you anticipate ever leaving HVW to find success in a larger scale? I mean, HVW can't offer you the money or exposure that some larger promotions can. I guess what I mean to ask is, should the HVW faithful worry about you leaving when a better offer comes? JS: There are a lot of things I am, Bob, but a prophet ain't one of 'em. I ain't got a clue where I'll end up. I do know I'd be hard pressed to find a more ruthless, savage group o' sumbitches than TDG anywhere in the goddamn world. So, do I see myself leaving them anytime soon? No. I don't. BW: How do you compare your experiences wrestling in Japan with the experiences you have had wrestling in the States so far? JS: Back East there's a lot more focus on what happens in the ring than out of it. The competitors are instilled with a greater sense of honor, and you certainly don't have any pansies like Fabian Dupree runnin' around, tellin' ya what kinda fabric softener to use. There are some other slight differences, like... a whole lotta big men here. You never see a seven footer out there, and here... well just look at ReXXL. The way I look at it is... a fight's a fight. A war's a war, and when you step into the squared circle you're not asking yourself what language your opponent speaks. You're wondering what's the best way to kick his ass. The one big difference ... the paycheck. BW: What do you think about the addition of Tripp Shade to TDG? Shade has a sort of...unpredictable nature and, well, if ever there was a guy who is only looking out for himself, it's Tripp. Do you think he's a positive addition to TDG, are you concerned about him throwing off the balance of the team, or...? JS: Woah, woah, woah. Slow down, Bob. One question at a time. What do I think about the addition? I like it. Kid can fight. Plus, he's Carla's family. And family of Carla's is family of mine. If he gets out of line and throws off the balance of the team, like you say... then we give him a gang beatdown like he's never experienced. Really Bob, it's as simple as that. BW: You've got a match coming up with Chris Courtade. Courtade's a multi-time World champion, he's a GLCW Hall of Famer, he's done it all. He's even presently competing for a shot at the EMWC Title. Are you worried at all about facing such an intimidating competitor? JS: I'm gettin' a little sick of this question, Bob. It's been the same question every day for a week now. Honest truth? Doesn't faze me one bit. Like I said earlier, a war's a war. Put me in there with a man, a monster, a broad, or a beast, it don't make a difference. I'll smack it around til it stops moving and _then_ I'll take a look to see who it is. Besides... this is Huron Valley Wrestling we're talking about, the land of the gang wars, _my_ turf. There's one fact Chris Courtade's gotta learn: There's only one endeavor you start at the top... that's digging a hole. And that's exactly what Chris is doing if he thinks he can just waltz his way into the main event... digging a hole. If he don't watch out, he'll be lying in it too. I don't care what he's accomplished in the past. BW: A lot of fans have labelled Wilton Stone, Tate Monroe and yourself as the futures of HVW. This is in contrast to the guys who are hold-overs from the old GLCW days- Tim Sanders, Juan Vasquez, Tripp Shade, and so on. What do you think about being labeled "the future of Michigan wrestling"? JS: I wasn't aware I was being labeled that. Don't know what kind of example I am for the kids, but... I've always lived by the motto: If you can't set a good example, you'll just have to be a horrible warning. If I _am_ the future of the sport in this state, let me give you an indication of what Michigan wrestling will be like in the future: Rough. Hard-nosed. Dirty. Violent. Mean and nasty. Next? BW: Finally, a lot of wrestlers get asked about who they have the most respect for, who they'd love to go one-on-one with, and all of that kind of stuff. So, here's a new twist on an old subject: is there anyone in HVW who just _has not_ earned the respect of Jack Snyder? JS: I know what you're tryin' to do here. Tryin' to stir up some controversy. Trying to get me to say somethin' Carla won't like. Well, you know me Bob. I ain't one to mince words, to skirt the issue or pussyfoot 'round the question. So the answer... Grant Stone. V- Funk All Stars No Longer? Rumors swirling around the HVW about this stable possibly being extinct after the next show. Speculation has run rampant ever since Team Dear God recruited possibly every wrestler in the federation to be in its stable. Many fear that TDG is too powerful to destroy and if the rumors are true, and V Funk is no longer.... then what will stop TDG from overtaking HVW completely? Sources close to Jeff Matthews say that he will address the situation on the next show... the future of the V Funkers.... and also the decision on their choice of the main event. |

Shocking news out of the HVW offices today, as HVW President Jeff Stewart was seen returning from a business lunch in a stretch limo, bringing wrestling legends J.W. Hardin, Casey James and Brody Thunder along with him. Stewart, buzzed off of one too many Long Island Iced Teas, immediately announced the signing of both superstars to "multi-gajillion" dollar contracts. Obviously, the HVW system prevents Stewart from signing anyone outright, but he could have meant that the three icons had been signed to an existing stable. With that in mind, the only manager currently under HVW contract with enough money to sign two men the likes of Hardin and Curtis would be fellow hall of famer "Madfox" Jeff Matthews. Considering this alongside the rumors of the death of the V-Funk All-Stars, one has to wonder if Matthews is unhappy with the stable he inherited from Rich Vail, and is planning on remaking it in his own image. Could this mark the birth of an HVW version of The Syndicate? Only time will tell. |

Former RCW Superstar To Become An HVW Free Agent? Former RCW and EMWC wrestler - and Detroit's own - Tommy Stephens, appeared on the Drew and Mike show yesterday morning. He talked about his rehabbing from injury, the closure of RCW, and his beginnings in wrestling in the Detroit area. When the topic came up about when Stephens thought he could come back from injury, he said, "Very soon. Very soon. Probably whenever someone comes to make me an offer, I'll be ready. Not a 100%, but good enough to wrestle." When asked where he'd like to go, Stephens said, "either EMWC or HVW. EMWC's a big deal and all, and I had fun there. But I'd kind of lean towards HVW more to stay near home, work with some familiar guys, and feel less restricted. But neither company's offered me anything, so I don't know." When asked where he'd not go to, he simply answered "next". Both Drew and Mike thought that meant the next question, so they just continued the interview as normal. |

A SCANDAL IS A BREWING! Rumors are in surrounding HVW's only icon, Joey~! and the news is rather troubling. According to insiders within and close to the HVW locker room, Joey~! has been seen speaking with legal counsel on what many rumor to be a sexual harrasment lawsuit against the HVW. Apparently, Joey~! has been approached several times in less then suitable situations by a member of the HVW locker room for acts that are better left up to the imagination then said here. Joey~!'s reportedly been extremely depressed over the cause for these actions and the relative confusion associated with why this individual would do such a thing. According to sources, "liquid courage" may have been involved for the actions of this individual in approaching Joey~!. Two plus two? One can't help but think "Priceless" Tim Sanders is at the heart of this scandal. More details to come later. |

Icon Makes Official Statement Regarding Rumors Finally catching up to the cult Icon himself, a statement was made regarding the previous rumor of sexual innuendos in the HVW locker room. Speaking directly about the rumor that Tim Sanders had made improper statements and gestures towards Joey~!, Mr. Sanders made a statement denying he had anything to do with it. Upon hearing the statement, Joey~! had this to say. "See, that flippin' guy _IS_ gay. A duck...a friggin' duck. This just makes my case golden. That drunken idiot's going to pay! Word around the offices is that in light of recent sexual harassment charges and the improper lockerroom conduct he feels is taking place in HVW, Joey~! is debating taking upwards of 12 months off to record his debut rap album. The album would give Joey~! a public forum to share his feelings about his alledged relationship with Tim Sanders while showcasing his rapping ability. "Though this doesn't seem like the kind of topic for some to rap about, Joey~! doesn't know how to play the guitar and he hates wearing sweaters" HVW President Jeff Stewart told us. "I've even told him that if we can one or two tracks where we battle rap, you know, all for fun ... we're not into gang-bangs ... then I'll do my best to book his act all throughout the region". Stewart ended the interview by spitting some phat rhymes to call the J-man out: "Joey~! is a dork! / Like Mork from Ork! / He punches like a girl! / Watch "My Name Is Earl"! / Word! One love! TS: That's your first question? THAT? Anyway, of course I'm not gonna quit HVW. HVW is the hottest thing goin' today and you know why that is? Because of _ME_. It's symbiotic. Besides, where would I go? EMWC? If I didn't jump ship to The E with the GLCW World Title the last time I left this shitty state, why would I jump now? It's ridiculous. Next question. BW: You have been carrying around this grudge for Tim Sanders for the past three years. How much longer is this going to last? TS: Three and a half years, Bob. Almost four. Do your research. And it'll last until the end of time. Tim Sanders had a chance, a golden opportunity to accept my friendship back when I was low man on the totem in GLCW, and instead he just used and used and used. In case you haven't figured it out, they call me the Spiteful Superstar because I tend to hold a grudge. You wanna know when it'll be over? When one of us is buried in the ground. BW: What is your opinion on the hostility that exists within the ranks of TDG? I mean, besides your rivalry with Joey~!, there is also a serious issue brewing between Jack Snyder and Grant Stone. TS: Bottom line is this: Every family has squabbles. Marsha and Jan had it out before, right? But when their backs were against the wall, goddammit all, those Bradys had each other's back. And that's the same with this. Do I think Joey~! is a piece of garbage? Absolutely. Would I save his ass if some cocksmoker was beating him down in the center of the ring? In a second. Snyder and Stone is simply a case of two passionate individuals that rub each other the wrong way. And the other stables in HVW might have a little more success if they had dudes half as passionate as them...instead of fashionplates, sk8r bois and assholes with rubber ducks. BW: How long until we see championship gold back around your waist? TS: Give me the shot, and you're looking at the next HVW Champion. Guaranteed. BW: At the final GLCW show, we saw what looked like an alliance between yourself and Juan Vasquez, which dissipated through the course of the match, which we all know Vasquez won. Are you harboring any ill-will towards Vasquez? TS: Ill-will? Towards Juan? Nah, no hell no. Me and Vasquez... we're tight. Been tight since St. Louis. I see what you're trying to do here, Bob. Your lack of journalistic integrity is really shining through here. You're trying to turn this into a Sanders/Shade-type scenario, when guess what? Once you're in between those ropes, all bets are off, babydoll. I would have stabbed Vasquez through the heart if the opportunity provided itself. Some day, I still might. But regardless of what happened or will happen, U-Ledge is forever, Bob. For. Ever. BW: And what about being on the same team with Corey Hart? As I recall, you and your old group of running buddies -- Hannibal Carver, and so on -- really gave him a hard time. Any hard feelings there? TS: Corey Hart is family now, Bob. If he has hard feelings towards me, he hasn't shown it. Probably because he remembers the time I made him tap out in about 7 damn seconds. BW: In Jeff Stewart's upcoming "Executive Decision" series, there's a chance that you may be accompanied to Tower Records by a member of the roster. Is there anyone in particular you would want to go with? TS: I would take you, Bob. That way on our way to Tower, I could push you out of my moving car and HVW could spend the coin to hire someone to ask me some REAL questions. Next. BW: There has been a lot of talk lately about HVW's new crop of upcoming stars. Guys like Jack Snyder, Wilton Stone, Tate Monroe... What's your opinion on this "old versus new" situation? TS: The great thing about GLCW to me and also true of RCW when I first came up was the mix of the new talent with the old talent. Of course I was part of the "new" back then... now I'm seeing it from a different perspective and what I can tell you is this: Bottom line, this is the best crop of 'new talent' I've ever seen in a promotion I've been in. Snyder is the future of this business. Wilton Stone is a piece of shit, but he's a damn talented piece of shit. Tate Monroe has gold around his waist for a reason. But for every Snyder or Stone there's a broken-down, yesterday's news-cocksmoker like Rob Magnum or Chris Courtade taking up a roster spot. You're tellin' me Courtade didn't get cut, but my boy Avie Layne did? Where's the justice. BW: Wilton Stone-Tripp Shade. If it happens, who wins? TS: You know, I kinda feel bad for Wilton. Because 3 and a half years ago I _WAS_ Wilton Stone. Coming to the defense of Tim Sanders. Do you think that's gonna get him to notice you, kid? Do you think he really cares that you're a team player? You're barking up the wrong tree here, Wilt. Let that cup-carrying mook fight his own battles. Because Tim Sanders will take and take and take until you have nothing left to give. And after I whoop your ass, pillar to post and back to pillar, nothing's all that's gonna be left. BW: You have had a very...unusual relationship with the fans and promoters in this area. Is there anything you have to say for yourself? TS: What are you even TALKING about!? The fans here LOVE me. I'm The Great Lakes Godsend, Bob! The Tripp Troopers drive all the way from, I dunno, whatever city is far enough away from this hole to make it seem impressive that they drive all the way here, just to SEE me. Do some ignorant jackoffs boo me? Of course they do, but they spent their hard-earned factory money, they can do whatever the hell they want to do. And I'll be honest with you here, Bob... I'll "shoot" with you...it used to bother me... until I befriended a similiarly embattled hero of The Wolverine State, Matt Millen. Me and Matty, boy howdy, we talk for hours on the phone about how stupid these fucking people can be. As for promoters? Jeff Stewart seems to be pretty capable. I trust him. He has the lockerroom under control; it's not the orgy of retarded behavior that GLCW was. That was some braintrust runnin' that place, let me tell you. Fortunately, there's no doped up Tony Cameron snapping people with towels here, and so far, anyway, Chris Courtade hasn't soaped anyone up in the shower... any other questions, Bobbo? Surprising news out of Team Dear God HQ, coming off the heels of his 10 Count interview with Bob Wire where he talked up his stable as "family", known wildcard/headcase Tripp Shade has now reportedly requested to be put on the trading block. Sources say Tripp feels that the depth of talent inside TDG is such that he's only about 4th or 5th in line for any type of title shot in the future. They go on to claim that Shade thinks he could help a struggling stable overcome TDG's dominance, thereby making himself look better. What kind of offer would it take to get Tripp Shade out of TDG? Does another stable have what it takes? And does the dominant stable even NEED or WANT any other pieces? Biggest Free Agent On The Market Nearly SIGNED?!? According to sources within the HVW front offices, it appears that Tommy Stephens was seen exitting a meeting with HVW President, Jeff Stewart Saturday afternoon. Stephens looked somewhat pleased after the meeting, but some in the office overheard the term "Vasquez Money" repeatedly from Tommy Stephens, so there may still need to be some negotiations on the terms of a contract. |

HVW to lose independent status? Rumors abound today about another recent meeting between HVW President Jeff Stewart and free-agent competitor Tommy Stephens, only this time it may have been about more than just Stephens' HVW contract, which he is reportedly close to signing. Some around the office "let slip" that Stephens has been visiting HVW on behalf of another organization -- and organization that is interested in making HVW their developmental company. Apparently, Stephens would be coming into HVW to hone his skills until being called back up into the main promotion. If true, opinions are going to become very polarized on this subject. On one hand, a lot of HVW's top stars would likely be signed to big contracts and be given the opportunity to compete on a much bigger stage. On the other hand, HVW losing its independent status could suck a lot of the life out of the company, and it's unique approach and style could become a thing of the past under the strict corporate rule of a larger promotion. |
