ACW Overload 02/08/2007
Report Sent In By: LazyBoy21

So after what's seemed like an eternity down here in San Antonio and a
layoff of more than a few months, Alamo Championship Wrestling has
finally made it's return! Tonight was the tv taping for Overload, which
airs Friday evenings locally. Before the festivities got underway Tim
Vexton and the announcers came out to sign autographs and talk with some
of the fans. The one-time UWF Legion member got on the mic and promised
again that he would have a huge surprise concerning the future of ACW
tonight.

Dark Match #1: Keiko Shimoda d. Mitzi Sukkora
---------------------------------------------
Once a job-girl, always a job-girl. Mitzi and Keiko came out to warm up
the crowd and did a respectable job of it, though neither will set the
wrestling world on fire they're both hard workers. Keiko in particular,
who's come a long way since we last saw her. Whoever's training her is
doing a great job, my money is on her hubby. At any rate, Mitzi crashed
and burned on a flying bodypress to the floor near the end of the match
and Keiko grabbed her as she crawled in to beat the 10 count and nailed a
DDT for the win.

Dark Match #2: Bullet d. Dick Hackenschmidt
-------------------------------------------
Both of these wrestlers were somewhat unfamiliar to the crowd as they'd
just debuted the last tv show before the shutdown. But Bullet quickly
won the fans over again with a dizzying array of slingshot and
springboard maneuvers, utilizing speed to run circles around
Hackenschmidt. It was a springboard huracanrana into a pin, the AK47,
that won him the match, but as he was celebrating the victory afterwards
an angry Dick grabbed Bullet and piledrove him viciously. Hackenschmidt
was showered with boos, and as a result Dick hit a second piledriver on
Bullet before leaving.

The taping began here, with a look at the new ACW Overload show opening
set to a remix of "Six Days" by DJ Shadow featuring Mos Def. Somewhere
in here Keith Marshall and "Hollywood" Cody Jones came out to the
announce position, because when the lights came back on and the crowd
started cheering they were suddenly at ringside.

Match #1: No Fat Chicks[c] d. The West Coast Wild Boyz
------------------------------------------------------
An interesting first match to return to television considering the crowd
hates both these teams' guts. NFC flirted up a storm as they came out to
the ring, but got one-upped by the WCWB who actually pulled a pair of hot
blondes out of the crowd and began to make out with them. From there
both teams proceeded to cheat their asses off behind the ref's back, in a
twisted game of one-upsmanship. It looked as if the Boyz might pull off
the upset and nab the titles after blindsiding Reno on the ring apron and
knocking him out of the match. But from the back came St. George and the
Dragon to stop Jordan from sliding a steel chair in to his partner. And
in the process Romeo Richards was able to pull out a swinging neckbreaker
and small package Nicky Hunter for the win.

Post-match as NFC picked up their gold and fled, St. George and the
Dragon engaged in a war of words with the Boyz which led to a challenge
for this Saturday night... a San Antonio Streetfight. This drew quite a
pop from the audience.

A promo from Bobby Nash played next, reiterating his challenge to Jerry
Titus from before the hiatus, that if he didn't win the ACW Southwest
Championship on Saturday night that he would retire. Probably a good
idea to remind people of what was going on before this place shut down
for months, not to mention to hype the big show on the weekend.

Match #2: Rosalee Perez drew Kiora Donovan[c] 15 Minute Time Limit
------------------------------------------------------------------
Yet another rematch between arguably the top two female wrestlers in ACW
collide, and once again it was a war right down to the end. Perez kept
working the neck and back for the Perez Stretch, repeatedly stopping
Donovan's offense with a quick backbreaker or high knee to the spine.
Kiora upped the ante with some vicious throat-aimed tactics including a
nasty hotshot off of the ring apron to the barrier on the floor. In the
final minute Kiora tried to finish Rosalee off with the Kiora's Klaw, but
Perez managed to counter into the Perez Stretch and brought Kiora to the
mat. Donovan attempted to escape the hold but was unable to do so,
however she did manage to fight the pain of the hold until the time limit
expired.

Once the decision was rendered and the belt had been returned to a
bruised and pained Kiora Donovan, "Ahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahaaaaaaa!"
screamed over the PA system as it had for the last few weeks in the
summer. B*Witched's "We Four Girls" played once more the videoscreens
went black and the words: "Tomorrow Night... W4G."

As soon as everything settled down, Commissioner Tim Vexton came out to
Metallica's "Until It Sleeps" to a cheering crowd. He started to make
the big announcement that had been promised for days, but was interrupted
by Genya Otsuka who came down to ringside and demanded that the
Commissioner get "the hell out of his ring". Vexton and Otsuka went nose
to nose in a tense showdown, and them while Tim did leave the ring he
promised the crowd to make his big announcement at the end of the main
event. Vexton sat down next to the timekeeper, which irritated Otsuka as
he paced the ring.

Match #3: Genya Otsuka d. "Pure Power" Jerry Titus[c]
to become the new ACW Southwestern Heavyweight Champion
-------------------------------------------------------
Titus stormed down to ringside and tore into Otsuka, knocking him around
the ring and demonstrating quite a bit of the muscle and power that won
him the championship originally. At one point he hit a running powerslam
that shook the ring, but Otsuka repeatedly managed to duck out of the
ring and break the momentum of the champion. Keiko wandered down to
ringside to support her husband and used her feminine wiles to distract
the referee, but Genya managed to turn the tide with a vicious eye rake
to escape from a torture rack backbreaker.

The match spilled out to the arena floor in the late stages, and Otsuka
used his own wife as a human shield to escape the clutches of Titus
before throwing her into the champion's arms. As Jerry caught her and
made sure no harm would come to Keiko, Otsuka blasted him with a massive
lariat. The force of it knocked Titus backwards and into Vexton, both
men winding up on the floor by the timekeeper's table. In the confusion
Genya Otsuka managed to grab the bell and cracked Titus in the back of
the skull with it as Shimoda kept the referee's attention. Returning him
to the ring, Genya swiftly drove Titus to the mat with an STO and covered
him to become the new ACW Southwestern Champion! As the crowd booed the
decision, Otsuka snatched the belt and raised it high over his head while
Keiko Shimoda embraced her husband.

Commissioner Vexton watched on from ringside as Genya gloated, but them
informed Otsuka not to party too much because tomorrow night he'd be
defending the new title in a three-way dance against both Bobby Nash and
the former champion Jerry Titus. Otsuka shot back that Vexton had no
right to put him in a match this soon and that he was going to enjoy the
title for a while, but Vexton told him that the decision was not his, it
was instead by order of the new owner of ACW... "Hellraiser" Tom Landis!
The crowd cheered as Landis himself wandered out from the locker rooms,
wearing bluejeans, a black "ACW" t-shirt and a large smile on his face.
Landis and Vexton shook hands to close the show, as Otsuka looked on in
horror.
And here's where I pretend to be a writer...
