Phoenix Valley Wrestling Website: www.pvwrestling.org Yahoo Groups: http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/PVWinc/ Web Email: pvwinc@gmail.com vVvVvVvVvVvVvVvv - ToC vVvVvVvVvVvVvVvv 1 - PVW Rundown 2 - NPC's 3 - Titles 4 - Shows 5 - What is expected of you 6 - Application vVvVvVvVvVvVvVvv 1 - PVW Rundown vVvVvVvVvVvVvVvv Wresting federations pop up all around the world. Most don't last, but for the time they are open they bring a little joy to the area's they are involved in. This brings us to Phoenix, Arizona. Some local investors put their backing into the brainchild of Dex Willingham. Dex grew up in Texas and wrestling was in his blood until he became to busy for it with his traveling sales company. Now retired and bored living in a nice fancy home in sunny Arizona he found himself hooked again watching the wild world of wrestling. Being the salesman that he is. Dex was able to drum support and financial backing to bring a taste of traditional wrestling to Phoenix, Arizona. PVW launched it's first show in January of 2008. It didn't take long for PVW to get a cult following in Phoenix. With superstars like William Craven, Rick Marley, Caleb Foley, and Rob Cole paving the way. Chase Williams was crowned the first PVW Heavyweight Champion and he successfully defended his title at PVW's first supercard, Rise From the Ashes. However for a wrestling league to take a serious step they need to get on television. The Willingham's searched around and got into serious negotiations with Strickland Sports Network. However like everything that is usually too good to sound true this did cost a price. A small section of the league to the TV company. PVW went on to be the hot league to talk about. A 2nd super show and everything seemed to be going down the right path. Huge signing after huge signing. Wrestling icon, Brian Young held the Heavyweight title. Until the dreaded loop hole. In that "too good to sound true" contract, SSN put in there that if they weren't able to keep a certain ratings mark then it would in return become void. SSN exercised that option at the peak of PVW's life span. The Willingham's searched high and dry for another opportunity, after two months of sitting at a stand still. SSN came back with a second chance for PVW. However it would cost them half ownership of their company. The battle raged on. Politics ... Zero Tolerance ... Ratings ... With the corporate flag and funding behind them. PVW reached new heights and traveled the globe with the biggest names in the business. Rob Cole captured the World Championship title. Gibson Hayes, America's champion became the hottest name in the industry. Rick Marley and William Craven finally settled the score inside a cage. For the first time in a long time wrestling seemed to finally have a clear cut juggernaut again. Until ... Call it bad luck. Call it miscalculations. Call it letting the crazies run the asylum. However enough went wrong in a short amount of time that SSN was forced to pull their backing and put the final nail in a red bank account that Dex Willingham encountered in growing too big too fast. In what seemed to be the end of PVW. Five months went by and rumors swirled through the wrestling world. PVW's talent wasn't collecting pay checks so a lot of them were forced to sign contracts elsewhere. Then some how ... some way Dex Willingham was able to bring PVW back home to Phoenix ... The 52nd Street Armory. With a roster that still stood toe-to-toe with anyone in the world. The next chapter will be written. We have went from Chase vs Foley ... To Cole vs Spectre ... to SSN vs PVW ... Widowmakers vs Holliday and friends ... Craven vs Marley ... And so many more classic battles to the stories of today. We will find out what battles will join in PVW's legacy. Who the champion of tomorrow will be. And that next wrestling superstar to take the world by storm could be in PVW right now. [OOC] Fedhead's are, Brian Bell and Robert Allegra ... vVvVvVvVvVvVvVvv 2 - NPC's vVvVvVvVvVvVvVvv Owner, Dex Willingham - His background for the most part was just stated in the section above. Dex is always at the show and willing to smooth talk investors, but he wants the wrestlers to make this show special. So he keeps off camera as much as possible. Announcers: HeatWave PBP - Chip Lester, An early 30's exciting up and coming PBP man in the industry. HeatWave Color - "Fabulous" Fred Hoyle - "Fabulous" Fred Hoyle is a retired wrestler in his early 50's. A veteran of the wrestling scene, Hoyle never managed to move about the 'journeyman' level, no matter how many rules he broke. He despises technical wrestling, aerialists and martial artists...really anyone that does moves that he couldn't while he was in the ring. Hoyle will blatantly root for rule breaking, and espouses the opinion that the only "real" wrestling style is US Standard Worker...the rest being unnecessary if you're tough enough. Due to his experience in both as a wrestler and announcer, Hoyle was hired by the PVW to work as the loan Road Agent, but won over favor with some of the SSN Exec's and was quickly moved in to be the main Color commentator. (Former UEW Announcer) Ring Announcer: Herk Douglas - He has been dubbed the Voice. He has a low booming voice that worked almost too perfect. Back Stage Interviewer: 'Swingin' Dean Hayes - A local favorite DJ that also happens to be a wrestling fanatic, took this on as a second job to be in the mix. In Charge of Talent Expansion: Matthew Willingham Referees: Max Kelly Duke Martin Mark Barnett Lou Crowe vVvVvVvVvVvVvVvv 3 - Titles vVvVvVvVvVvVvVvv World Championship Belt: The main belt in PVW. Defended on all Supercards and every once in awhile on the shows. Previously the PVW Heavyweight Championship Belt. American Heritage Championship Belt: The #2 singles belt in the company.. Defended every few shows. TV Championship Belt: Brought in after SSN picked up the organization. Was once named the Network title, but kept around and renamed after SSN pulled their backing. Will be defended a ton. Good luck to the champions! World Tag Team Titles: The Tag team titles of the organization. The #2 belts of the overall fed. vVvVvVvVvVvVvVvv 4 - Shows vVvVvVvVvVvVvVvv Main Show (bi-weekly): Heatwave Flash show (bi-weekly): Showcase Tradition: Is a every-so-often supercard that will pop up when themed extra cards need to happen or high profile events that won’t be one of the four staples. There will be a few Supercards spread into the year. Rise from the Ashes End Game Boiling Point Shattered Dreams vVvVvVvVvVvVvVvvvVvVvVvVvVvVvVvv 5 - What is expected of you vVvVvVvVvVvVvVvvvVvVvVvVvVvVvVvv The plan is for this to be a bi-weekly federation for the most part with a few Supercards sprinkled in. Participation and activity is key for this to work. If you can lend a hand writing that of course would be appreciated and will make things go all the more smoother. Basically you will get out of this project what you put into it. I can't force you to participate, but we all benefit if you do. The Curtis Rule: We as a collect group understand that this is a game and not to be taken seriously. We are all a bunch of nerds taking part of a creative writing game and we shall treat our fellow nerds with respect." vVvVvVvVvVvVvVvv 6 - Application vVvVvVvVvVvVvVvv Tag Teams and Singles accepted currently Send this to pvwinc@gmail.com & join the Groups at http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/PVWinc/ Your Name: Email address: IM Names: Can you write at all?
