Ok the setup is this: "Noble" Carl Adams and "Hot Shot" Neil Oake have had a serious grudge since they were in tag ranks together. Carl had a run in tag matches where he lost to Neil 3 straight times and eventually left the tag ranks to go into the singles ranks where he eventually won the IWF World Title. Neil pursued him and begged the owner(I'll let you read the match to figure out who that is) for a chance to win the belt. Ownership decided to throw Neil a bone and give him a chance to get the title shot in a battle royale that he won and this was his chance. What no one expected was that the rivalry between the owner and Oake would end the way it did...

Your backstage announcer at the start is Chris Walker
Ring announcer is Nick Jennings
play by play is Vinnie Campbell and Ben Ulrich
Senior Official is Nina Daniels

ENJOY!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chris Walker: And now let's go up to the ring and Nick Jennings

Nick Jennings: Ladies and Gentlemen the following contest scheduled for one fall is for the IWF World Heavyweight Championship!!!

[CROWD ROARS]

Nick Jennings: Introducing first in the corner to my right, standing 6 feet 5 inches tall and weighing in at 257 pounds. He hails from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada here is “Hot Shot” Neil Oake

[CROWD BOOS LOUDLY!!!]

Nick Jennings: And his opponent...he is the reigning IWF World Champion and stands at 6 feet 4 inches and weighs 235 pounds. From Wichita, Kansas here is “Noble” CAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRLLLLLLLLL AAAAAAAADDDDDDDDDAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMMSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!

[Crowd starts with the “Noble” chants as he waves to the crowd before taking the belt off from around his waist and hands it to the referee whom shows it to Oake and then holds it up in the air for all to see before handing it to the ring announcer and then calling for the bell]

Ben Ulrich: And here we go!

Vinnie Campbell: These two men have been after each other ever since Oake won the 10 person battle royale for the right to contend for the belt here tonight.

Ben Ulrich: And Oake as boasted that he has three victories over the champion, but let's not forget they were also in tag matches when he pinned him.

Vinnie Campbell: Adams locks up with Oake in a collar and elbow before Oake gets him in a side headlock. Adams throws him into the ropes and gets shoulderblocked for his effort

Ben Ulrich: Oake runs the the far side ropes and Adams gets down as Oake returns and leaps over him before getting hip tossed by Adams. Adams going for an elbow drop but Oake gets out of the way and gets to his feet quickly before trying an elbow of his own but Adams gets out of the way quickly as well!

Vinnie Campbell: So far neither really seems to have the advantage, but when you wrestle as often as these two have against each other in every division it makes sense.

Ben Ulrich: No kidding!

Vinnie Campbell: Adams goes for the collar and elbow again and this time he gets Oake in side headlock but Oake picks up the champ and hits him with a back suplex and dumps him on the back of his head.

Ben Ulrich: Remember it was only 3 days ago on a special edition of “Roundtable” when Oake tried to re-injure the neck of Adams with his “Hot Shot” DDT on the concrete and had security and management not stepped in we wouldn't have had this match.

Vinnie Campbell: And it appears that Oake wants to do what he can to target the head and neck as he got Adams in a side headlock and is grinding on it! Senior Referee Nina Daniels is checking to see if its a choke and its not. Adams seems to be starting to go out!

Ben Ulrich: No he's fighting the black as he starts to get the blood pumping and is sitting upright and BANG! A Jawbreaker on Oake to buy the champ some time to try and work out the kinks in his neck.

Vinnie Campbell: People at home whom are watching us for the first time might wonder how two moves could almost start to put the champ out, but what you don't know is that Adams has been through hell in his career and his head and neck have been weak points over the years. He was in an accident that resulted in whiplash coming to an event a few years ago and he's just now starting to feel better from it!

Ben Ulrich: Truer words were never spoken Vinnie and Carl gets Neil up against the ropes with a few knee strikes before irish whipping him into the ropes and then hits a big time clothesline on the challenger!

Vinnie Campbell: Remember his finisher “Noble Cause” is a neckbreaker and the fact that he would target the upper body is no surprise here.

Ben Ulrich: The champ starts working on the challenger's legs and this is a very interesting strategy. Is he setting up for a submission move later in the match?

Vinnie Campbell: Could be but that would going away from his normal gameplan. Adams is not a submission wrestler by any stretch of the imagination and the fact that he's starting to work on his knee as he puts his kneecap right on the inside leg of the challenger is kind of curious here.

Ben Ulrich: Neil is screaming in pain and its only going to get worse as Carl grapevines the leg with his and JERKS back on the leg of the challenger! Carl is stalking the challenger as Neil is starting to crawl away holding his leg but Carl will have none of it!

Vinnie Campbell: But he pays for it as Neil pulls him towards the post and jams him into the ringpost shoulder first. The challenger tries to get up as he sees Adams at a disadvantage but how is his leg going to hold up during the match?

Ben Ulrich: We're about to find out as bounces off the ropes and hits a quick elbow on the champ and hooks the near leg for a cover!

Nina Daniels: ONE!

TW---

Vinnie Campbell: And Adams with the kickout! Oake is going to need more than that to pin the champion!

Ben Ulrich: I've seen strange things win matches, but I'll give you this one. Adams is not going to go down to an elbow drop!

Vinnie Campbell: Neil picks up the champ and stands him up in the corner before leveling him with two or three quick chops that resonate with fans here in the Air Canada Centre. How much he has behind them is another story!

Ben Ulrich: Neil irish whips Carl into the far corner and runs at Adams but Carl gets a foot up and knocks Oake back a bit before getting on the second turnbuckle and hits a bulldog but I'm not sure how much of that he really got as he goes for the cover...

Nina Daniels: ONE!

Vinnie Campbell: And a shoulder up as I don't think he really got the full force he wanted just more of a glancing blow from his shoulder.

Ben Ulrich: That's what I saw too and the champ knows it! He pulls Oake up and gets him up in his patented delayed vertical suplex as he's just letting the blood go to Oake's head now and falls back with the suplex!

Vinnie Campbell: Every time I see that move I think about Davey Boy Smith.

Ben Ulrich: I do too and if you ask Adams why he does it that's what he'll tell you but he's got a cover on the challenger and the ref with the count...

Nina Daniels: ONE!

TWO!

THR--

Vinnie Campbell: NO!

Ben Ulrich: The hand was coming down for three and the champion almost ended it with his vertical suplex!

Vinnie Campbell: The crowd was standing in the ACC and I thought that maybe we would have an ending to this match!

Ben Ulrich: The champ isn't discouraged though as Carl seems to be going back to work on the legs of the challenger.

Vinnie Campbell: Smart as he worked on them earlier, but I am still wondering why?

Ben Ulrich: Only thing I can think of is a submission on the legs maybe?

Vinnie Campbell: That'd be obvious but wha...OOOOOHHHHH!!!!!

Ben Ulrich: What?

Vinnie Campbell: HE'S GOING FOR OUR BOSS' SUBMISSION HOLD!

Ben Ulrich: That's what the setup was! Adams said he had a surprise for people and he has the figure four locked in! How bad is the damage he did to Oake's legs?!

Vinnie Campbell: His only chance is to turn it over but with how Adams put it on and they are in the center his only chance might be to tap!

Ben Ulrich: Oake is on his back and the shoulders are down!

Nina Daniels: ONE!

TWO!!

THR--

Vinnie Campbell: Oake somehow got his shoulder off the mat!

Ben Ulrich: And not only that he's trying to turn it over...AND DOES!!!!

Vinnie Campbell: Adams breaks the hold but who got the worst of it? Adams is having a hard time getting to the ropes and Oake notices it as he grabs the champ by the legs and delivers a “questionable headbutt”

Ben Ulrich: Thankfully we can't say WHERE that went but it was the male reprod---

Vinnie Campbell: CLOSE ENOUGH!!!

Ben Ulrich: Oake survived our boss' signature hold and now he's measuring the champ with elbows on his throat. Nina is warning him about it and he's giving her static. This is giving the champion time to try and get away but Neil is too smart for that!

Vinnie Campbell: Neil let his issues with Daniels get the best of him one time and it cost him the tag titles but now he's back on the offensive and picks up Carl just to drop him down with the back of his neck hitting his knee! He backs up and bounces off the ropes to slowly stalk the champ before dropping a knee onto his throat and then the cover...

Nina Daniels: ONE!

TWO!!

THRE---

Ben Ulrich: That was dangerously close to a new champion!

Vinnie Campbell: And it wouldn't sit well with the ownership either. Oake is a pompous ass that they can't stand and I know he hasn't won any fans sitting at this desk!

Ben Ulrich: I think we also need to explain that this match has no time limit and the only way the title can change hands is pinfall or submission. Ownership made that clear after a debacle years ago with a world title match!

Vinnie Campbell: And I know the boss won't like me for this but the referee that got appointed for that match is in the ring right now for this one.

Ben Ulrich: I'm sure she's learned her lesson.

Vinnie Campbell: And Oake is learning how to focus on Adams' neck. He's focused on that most of the match and despite the offense that Adams has landed that has to be effecting him.

Ben Ulrich: Dragon Sleeper by Oake and some say he's perfected this move to be nearly inescapable!

Vinnie Campbell: Daniels checks the arm and it drops once, she picks it up again and it drops twice! Once more and we got a new champ!

Ben Ulrich: And it...doesn't drop as Adams fights his way up and turns it into a Northern Lights Suplex! Daniels goes down for the count!

Nina Daniels: ONE!

TWO!!!

Ben Ulrich: Oake shifted his weight and Adams landed on top of Daniels!!

Vinnie Campbell: Not again!

Ben Ulrich: The only good thing about this match is there's no limit!

Vinnie Campbell: Adams picks up the challenger and slowly turns him back to back and drops down with his “Noble Cause” Neckbreaker but we have no ref to count!

Ben Ulrich: ONE, TWO, THREE, FOUR, FIVE...

Vinnie Campbell: Wait here comes the owner!

[Curtis comes running out from the back and starts to count for the pin...]

Joshua Curtis: ONE!

TWO!!!

THRE---

Ben Ulrich: Oake with the kickout, but when he gets up he might not like who he sees!

Vinnie Campbell: Its no secret that Oake and Curtis have history. The two had a bloody battle over whether or not Curtis would get ownership of the company from Nina's brother Eric and now Curtis is standing between he and the title.

Ben Ulrich: Curtis stands back and watches as Adams goes for his old “Devil Duster” finisher and hits it in the center of the ring right near and unconscious Nina!

Vinnie Campbell: Curtis with the count!!!

Josh Curtis: ONE!

TWO!!!

Ben Ulrich: What?! He stopped his count!

Vinnie Campbell: What the...

Ben Ulrich: Adams is getting pissed and is grabbing Curtis by the collar of his jacket!

Vinnie Campbell: I know he just screwed him, but you shouldn't do that!

Ben Ulrich: Oake is behind him and he...what?

Vinnie Campbell: His running neckbreaker! “HOT [BLEEP]”! “HOT [BLEEP”! “HOT [BLEEP]”!

Ben Ulrich: That's got to be it!

Josh Curtis: ONE!

TWO!!

THREE!!!!

Ben Ulrich: And we don't need a ring announcer to tell us that Neil Oake just got the belt off the biggest screwjob in this company ever! I hope to hell that next Tuesday Curtis is ready to explain why he did WHAT he did!

Vinnie Campbell: Fans are littering the ring and we are getting hit by it. We have to go!

Ben Ulrich: Ladies and Gentlemen for my partner Vinnie Campbell. I'm Ben Ulrich good night and God Speed!!

I didn't make the six full pages exactly but I came close. This was my first attempt in years at writing a match and I wanted to have fun with it. Any comments are appreciated and if this is in the wrong section you can move it because I honestly didn't know where to put it!

I thought you did a good job with the announcers in telling us who the characters are and the situation they are in. For someone who doesn't write matches you should tackle some more.

Could of used a few more combo moments ...

I appreciate the compliment and the criticism. I was trying to write the matches in the way my mind saw it and I admit I could have done a bit more with maybe the action, but we both have to understand it was my first time trying it in about...10 years maybe?

Again I appreciate what you had to say and I will take it into consideration the next time I try a sample.

P.S. I used the spacing I was looking at from your show and wanted to try and emulate it. How'd I do?
