The following was sent across the Associated Press newswire: 1/21/09 UWF star's home raided by DEA, large amounts of steroids, growth hormones, painkillers seized. NEWPORT BEACH, CALIFORNIA (AP)---- Drug Enforcement Administration agents discovered large quantities of steroids and other controlled substances during a search of the home of current Universal Wrestling Federation star, Derrick Douglas "Trey" DaMann III. The professional wrestling company had been involved in an on-going investigation after an anonymous tip alleged that a shipment containing Human Growth Hormone (HGH) was delivered to the War Memorial in Syracuse during a show held in May 2008. Canadian officials had intercepted a delivery of banned substances to a show in Ottawa last July, but were unable to determine to whom the packages were intended. Several members of the roster were questioned at the time, but all leads were unsubstantiated. A spokesman for the DEA stated that the first big break in the case came as a result of a phone call from an auto body shop in Los Angeles that found several empty bottles of OxyContin on the floor of a totaled 2007 Lamborghini Murcielago Roadster owned by DaMann. The bottles were traced back to a pharmacy in Tijuana, Mexico, that has reportedly made similar shipments to athletes in a number of other professional and collegiate sports. A warrant was issued to search DaMann's dressing room at a recent UWF show, but he had been getting ready at a local hotels since being attacked backstage several weeks prior. A second warrant, this time to access his family home, allowed officials to enter and find a walk-in closet full of anabolic steroids, synthetic hormones including HGH, prescription-level painkillers, and used and unused hypodermic needles. The seize took place the night Trey DaMann was involved in the co-main event of a Universal Wrestling Federation show entitled "Scene of the Crime." The employees working at his home that night were questioned as to their knowledge of and involvement in the acquisition of the illegal substances. As a result of his injuries suffered that night, DaMann was hospitalized in Miami for several days after the event and could not be immediately questioned. Upon his discharge, he met with federal agents for over three hours. DaMann and his legal team have refused to comment publicly on these events. Prosecutors are believed to be continuing to compile evidence with the expectation that federal drug possession charges will be filed by the end of the month. The 23-year-old Trey DaMann has been employed by the Universal Wrestling Federation since 2005. He had attended the University of Southern California on a wrestling scholarship, but was expelled his freshman year for excessive partying on campus, lewd conduct, blackmailing the dean, and stealing all of Matt Leinart's women. Both his grandfather, Douglas DaMann, and father, Derrick DaMann, had been former multi-time World Heavyweight champions. Unlike his other family members, Trey has not yet reached the level of World champion, as he has only been able to capture the UWF Unified Television championship. Upon hearing of the DEA investigation and subsequent seize at his home, the UWF Board of Directors conducted an emergency meeting the day after Scene of the Crime to discuss Trey's status within the company. A statement regarding disciplinary action towards DaMann is expected to be released in the coming days. Trey was already known to be in the UWF Drug and Alcohol Wellness Program after driving his car into a crowd of people with a blood-alcohol level almost three times over the legal limit. This incident, which took place at a show back in 2006, subsequently led to the UWF losing its television contract and being unable to get back on the air for several months. |

Alex Martinez does not take steroids. It is the other way around. Steroids producers get their product by sneaking up on him with syringes as he sleeps and drawing the stuff out. |
