Awww. The good ol' days where supercards had to be released an hour at a time to keep handlers from hunting us down in the streets.

By the by...

SPOILER ALERT!






















What the hell? Someone debuts by attacking with a barrage of forearms, something described as a double leg hook piledriver [which I imagine is a Package Piledriver ala Kevin Steen], a gorilla press slam OVER THE ROPES AND ONTO THE BARRICADE, and what I think is a running Michinoku Armb- err, Driver on the floor.

Wow.

And they say I'm hardcore... well, they used to anyways.

And that's only in the first hour. What happens when someone debuts in the Main Event? Blimp? Barbed wire hanging? Gunshot wound to the belly? Someone gets fired out of a cannon and lands IN the ring?

And before anyone jumps down my throat, I'm just teasing Beebs. I'm sure I've done far, far, far, FAAAAAAAR worse in my "glory days."

There used to be a time when a match written by Blue could guarantee a backdrop driver through a flaming table and someone falling off a balcony onto a pane of glass.

Nowadays...in an AWA main event, you won't so much as see a moonsault!

I didn't realize that old school meant Strangler Lewis and Stanislaus Zbyszko!

I kid, I kid...

...but lets amp up the time machine to at least 1983, Blue!

And if I get my match finished, we come that much closer to finding out!

Compared to other spots in previous PPVs, I did not think Eveline's debut was particularly extreme.
I normally stick to mid 80's psychology, but figured I'd better amp it up to "UWF Standards" for the purposes of a debut.

Then again, maybe it's because we decided to bring in Eveline only two days ago and did not have time to properly think things through.


Still. After that opening bout, and the chains & chairs in the Detson/Hayes vs Outlaws match, I don't see what's so appalling about a running Michinoku Driver.

Besides, the last time I went old-school on an UWF PPV, in the following matches, people ended up pouring vodka in gaping wounds and powerbombing each other onto glass bottles.
This time, I elected to strat accordingly.


That said, Donna vs Summer was a deceptively good match. A pretty damn good match, even.

Well, at least it's known as Mike Justice-style and not Serge Annis-style. Bishop got screwed in '97, I'll say it.
