I don't dare use it too often, because everyone that fell victim to it ends up with a better storyline.

I am proud to be at the top of that list. Also, does the "psychotic break" mean that everyone on that list really went crazy in character? I mean, Axis did, but y'know, he was juicing. :P
And it was at this moment that the entire world realized, in unison, that tandem bicycles were AWESOME~!

PS: Carmichael quoting my post reminded me of something.  There's a dearth of faces in UWF, right?  I was having a conversation with someone, (I forget who as I'm quite tired) the subject came up, and all we could figure out were 4 faces; John Shock, Axis, Tommy Stephens and the ironically named "Epitome of Evil" Serge Annis.  There must be more.  Anyone care to chime in to help tally up the true sum of UWF's good guys?

I think that was with me.
But, after conversations with Terry...

We made a tally and, in fact, we came to the conclusion that we actually have too many faces! It's just that there are numerous heels with a lot of heat, and so the heels look strong despite being fewer in numbers.

Yknow whatd be funny? A rollup for a finisher. Call it the ROD, or "rollup of doom."

To unlock the history vault, a tag team I handled called The Twin Ninjas had a roll up finisher. Chris Nelson leapt off the top rope with a flying clothesline while Matt Richards crouched behind the opponent, rolling them up as they tumbled backwards from the clothesline.

It didn't get over.

Yeah, but, uh ... that was a tag team, right. So it's ... different?

Yeah. Different.

(Okay, maybe not.)

I also realized that Epstein and Vasquez have been brawling for what, fifty five minutes? (More considering hour 1 feels like it lasts 2 hours)

I figure that, sometime in the latter stages of Tetreault's gauntlet, the following scene took place:




(This is a fictionalized re-creation of a scene that may not have taken place, using actors to portray the characters.)

[The men crash into the hallway and, grabbing him by the hair, Epstein whips Vasquez into the wall. He manages to absorb the blow with his arms, then, extenuated, mimes a time out.]

JV: Wait! [Huff] Time out! [Puff] Time out!
AE: Oh, yes! [Wheeze] Good idea, time out!
JV: OK, cool.

[Epstein leans on the wall, wiping the sweat from his brow.]

AE: Ah, man... had been a while since I'd been in a good old brawl like this...
JV: Pussy.
AE: Bastard.
JV: Oooh, Coke machine! A beverage would be good, right now. Got change?
AE: No. I'm in my wrestling gear.
JV: Yeah, me too. Where's Lopez when you need him?
AE: Maybe someone will come by.
JV: I say we break the machine.
AE: We can't do that.
JV: We can if we assume I'll throw your head into it in about five minutes.
AE: And now that you told me, I'll counter. Would make up for your kick to the balls earlier. Got me good, you bastard.
JV: Did I? I wasn't sure. It felt too... soft.
AE: Very funny.

[Awkward pause.]

AE: Man... I got to pee so bad...
JV: Go. The restrooms are right there.
AE: I would, but I know you. You'll jump me the moment the stream comes out.
JV: No I won't.
AE: Yes, you will.
JV: Dude. We're in time out.
AE: Ok. But do _NOT_ follow me in there!
JV: Swear I won't.
AE: Alright, I'll be right back. Don't run away, 'cause I'm not done kicking your ass!
JV: Looking forward to it.

[Epstein slips into the restrooms, cinching his butt cheeks.
Vasquez slowly rises, and listens carefully. Seconds later, he makes his move.
Screams emanate from the washrooms.]

JV: Time out's over!
AE: YOU BASTARD!

Well yeah...there's plenty of faces in UWF. It's just that some of the heels have nuclear heat and it makes it seem as if they're 6 people.

I mean, Vasquez was feuding with Alex Epstein and Trey DaMann at the same time last cycle. He had to bring in Edwin Lopez just to even the odds!

Tumaffi himself is like 12 regular people. It's a good thing Serge Annis is at least 11.

As for hour one, lets assume that Vasquez in-ring took 15 minutes at the very least. So in fact, he's only been brawling with Epstein for 45 minutes. I also assume at least 10 minutes were spent chasing each other around as one hid to gain a strategic environmental advantage on the other(hiding behind doors, leaping out of janitor's closets, etc). I think they both also stopped to watch Eveline's calendar preview.

And yes Moze...shortly after being pinning by Vasquez via roll-up, all those characters had a major shift in personality.

Oh you can believe that tally will swing something wild by the end of this first show, trust me. There's no glut of babyfaces to speak of, despite how things look.
