If you merge UWF Vasquez and AWA Vasquez, you end up with a tweener Juan Vasquez, who gets cheered by people who see things his way(You were right about Trey all along and...damnit, I liked RCW! Screw you Epstein!) and booed by fans who look through the world in rose-colored glasses and don't see the big picture(Juan does bad things...boo!).

And here I thought if you merge AWA Vasquez with UWF Vasquez, you get a rip in the space time continuum through which all life ceases to exist... except for Gamma Ray, who finally becomes the most popular person on earth.

Go with the merge!

Obviously I will have tons more to say when I do my write up and it's part of the next review packet (which is getting increasingly large in size) but some quick thoughts:

-Juan Vasquez breaking Epstein's leg, MiB is Cassell, etc. I marked LIKE A NUT for this segment and Epstein's leg breaking was both HORRIFIC PHANTOM PAIN INDUCING HORRIFYING and yet such a great segment topped off with the "I win, Alex, I Win".. DAMN! I hope, I really hope, that down the line, whenever it is, that Epstein does come back, and he and Vasquez put on the most amazing revenge war feud we will all probably ever see!

-Trey DaMann's heel turn/reveal.. This left me GUTTED! Like Real Madrid losing to Barcelona gutted! All the excitement, fandom, enthusiasm from the last cycle and then they RIP my guts out! IMO this was an amazing segment and semantics and logic aside, it just totally ripped my guts out! That is pretty awesome!

-The Trey DaMann deal should've been last on the show. This really should be saved for the review, but it seems weird to me that Vasquez would still be celebrating, even after his ultimate revenge on Epstein, after Damann has just basically said Juan was a pawn in his game and used like Slush's version of Landis women are used by random bikers or something. Have the Vasquez celebration, the end of the main event with the confetti and all, then have Trey DaMann come out, rip EVERYONE's guts out including Vasquez. That's just my opinion.

But man, was this ever an amazing amazing Rampage! I've got to be quiet and save these thoughts for my write up but wow, great great show!

Isn't it obvious why Vasquez wasn't gutted?

He was too busy out buying balloons and confetti and completely missed Trey's promo!

Actually...there's a pretty logical reason why he wouldn't be gutted. Just think about it.

There are two things I'm hoping for next cycle.

1. We get (a) credible face(s) built up who folks can get behind to finally knock DaMann off that pedestal.

2. Said face(s) is/are "home grown" in the UWF, so to speak. Not a guy who suddenly comes in and immediately leapfrogs to the front of the line (Love you, Steve, but Annis kinda comes to mind here even after things finish up w/Tumaffi. :bye: :boxing: :chairbash: ).
And here's where I pretend to be a writer...

Don't worry Katie, not going to happen... Remember how long Caliban - Serge went? ;-)

Well, ideally you'd do a "home grown" UWF'er as the face that rises up the ranks, except that most of the "home grown" UWF'ers who would be the best picks are either heels or are tied up with other programs.

So it's likely going to be somebody who gets built up into that spot and gives the top heels their comeuppance... which I'm fine with. The EW4/Augustine feud was essentially bridging the gap until a true babyface could be properly worked into the mix.

Me, I'd just be looking for any faces to step up.
There's a void, and a golden opportunity for multiple faces to crank it up a few notches and makes their place.

How do you really define "homegrown"? I mean, someone like Vasquez has been in UWF for 4 years now...or how about Tommy Stephens? He's been around for about a year now...is he still an outsider? :dontknow:

Vasquez made his name in other places; homegrown are characters nigh synonymous with the fed. Basically, as I see it, you think of character a and fed a together.
Have I told you how much I loathe your continued existence today?

That's pretty much what I thought... truth be told, Serge Annis is a "home grown" UWF wrestler since it's where he got his start.

Although looking back at what Katie wrote, I don't think that's entirely what she meant... but it probably would have been better to say "established" wrestler who has been with the fed for a while, rather than a recent arrival, even if that arrival has a storied history with UWF.

Look, all we want is to see someone do this to Trey...

...it's just a matter of who you want to be doing it. Personally, I'd like to see Tumaffi do it, but that's just me.

That's only if Allison Chambers lets her. ;)
