Brrrriiiiiing! It's ALPHA time!
- Unless you've been living in the La Brea Tar Pits, you know that last Saturday was A~3: Triple Time Trial! After four grueling three-way threat matches, the Myriad of Moolah has changed hands! Alexander Shaw was victorious at A~3, defeating Dash Springfield and previous holder John Hurst in the final lap, and the check is now his! No word on if Shaw's cashed it or intends to defend it Hurst did yet, but no doubt Shaw is resting up after his battle. Neither LIONS Fight Club nor John Hurst himself have made any comment regarding the loss of the check.
- LFC warrior Rodrigo De La Zed was chomping at the bit to be included in A~3, but club pariah D.R. Kongo took his spot! This Saturday at ALPHA 10, he'll have his chance to prove he shouldn't have been left out when he takes on the A~3 winner himself, Alexander Shaw, in singles competition!
- A~3 wasn't the only thing to pay attention to at ALPHA 9. Also of note was the debut of the imposing New Yorker Barron Ulysses, who rushed his way to a crushing victory over Rodrigo De La Zed. Now he hopes to repeat his performance as he's been booked for ALPHA 10 against fellow newcomer Brian Jackson! Can "The Thundah" pull out a victory here, or will he be the next to feel the Crush Rush?
- "Fashion" Dash Springfield is not happy at his performance at A~3, but he also feels strongly that he was hampered by the three-way threat format. He's demanded that ALPHA offices book him against either Alexander Shaw or John Hurst one-on-one so he can show that the outcome was a fluke. Shaw's already been booked, and Hurst declined the challenge, citing a need to recover. However, Hurst did offer up a replacement, so at ALPHA 10 the Fashionable One will lock horns with Nathan Rageous! The tank of LFC was taken down by Dash at A~3, but maybe his loss can be chalked up to the format as well. In any event, both men are hungry for a win and they'll bring their all on Saturday night!
- In about the only positive news to come out of Camp Savage, sources close to LFC have reported that LFC director (and ALPHA co-prince) Anton Assault and other members of LFC management were very pleased with the performance of Josh Cameron at A~3. Since Cameron did not get past the first lap, their contentment is somewhat curious. Our fan reporter Charlie Reager noted that Cameron kept his attention on D.R. Kongo throughout his match, and as Kongo has been a thorn in the LFC's side, perhaps keeping Kongo out of the final lap was enough for them. We'll have more as we get it.
- The Royal Lancers have not been happy with A~3 since even before the event, when they were (allegedly) conspired against by the LFC to make sure only one of their number entered the tournament. After Jay Mathers's failure to win A~3, they petitioned ALPHA offices for a "warm-up match" for ALPHA 10, in order to "get them back into top form." ALPHA co-arch Daniel Stann has complied in a big way, booking them against former Total J Cup winner Javier Sikkan and "Danger Kid" Byron Maloka! "No days off," Stann said. "No warm-ups. It's full-tilt every show we've got, and if you don't like it, you can go crying back to Blighty, mates!"
- In other Byron Maloka news, his recklessness in his unsuccessful first lap match at A~3 has cost him. Red Mountain Casino spokeswoman Chandra Taylor has announced that she is levying a fine of $1,000 on Maloka. As always, this fine needs to be paid before Maloka can wrestle for ALPHA at the Red Mountain Casino, and as Maloka has recently had trouble getting fines paid, his appearance on ALPHA 10 is in serious question.
- Independent talent! ALPHA is still growing and fast! Can you hang with wrestlings young turks, the emerging elite of the independent scene? Do you want exposure on national weekly pay-per-view? If so, send your application in to ALPHA today!
- This Saturday, the fallout from A~3: Triple Time Trial blows into the Red Mountain Casino as ALPHA presents ALPHA 10: Extra Time! The landscape of ALPHA has changed, who can take the reins?
