Last night at ALPHA 13: The Contenders' Circle, we found out the last four entrants into the eight-man tournament! Just who made it in? There were between 300 and 350 people at the show today, but it looked closer to 300.

Hunter or Hunted: Nathan Rageous vs. Jake Landell
Landell met Rageous in the center of the ring looking nervous but up to the challenge. He extended his hand to Rageous. Quickly regretting the friendly gesture, Landell was leveled by a short arm clothesline from Rageous that send Landell crashing down to the mat high on his shoulders. Rageous peeled him off of the mat and drove his shoulder into Landell's gut, rushing him towards a corner where he followed up with several hard shoulder thrusts. Rageous shot Landell into the opposite corner with enough impact to bounce from the corner hard on his face. Rageous wasted no time in following up, grabbed Landell by the back of the trunks and neck and lifted him back to his feet. Landell took a boot to the gut and was shot into the ropes. He managed to duck a lariat attempt and secure a schoolboy rollup! 2! Rageous kicked out violently and sent Landell a few feet away.

Landell scrambled to his feet and peppered Rageous with a few decent right hands before Rageous had enough, grabbed both sides of Landell's head, and delivered a brutal headbutt! Landell staggered back into the ropes and stumbled forward in a clumsy charge for Rageous. Rageous side stepped the oncoming Landell and bounced off of the far ropes. Landell turned, still holding his head, and gets leveled with a spear to his exposed midsection! Landell folded over Rageous' shoulder from the impact! Rageous casually lifted the defeated Landell from the mat, kneed him in the gut for good measure and DRILLED HIM WITH THE RAMACHANDRA! No chance in hell! 3!

A~4 Qualifying Heat: Stephen Mathers vs. Brian Jackson
Jay Mathers came down to ringside in his brother's corner, while Byron Maloka accompanied Brian Jackson.

As soon as the bell rang, Jackson dashed across the ring, ducking a lariat from Steve and coming back with an elbow smash to the back of the head. Steve got up quickly and traded blows with Jackson, neither man backing down. Steve managed to get the upper hand, whipping Jackson into the ropes and flooring him with a back elbow shot. 1! Steve didn't let up control, pulling Steve up and snap suplexing him back to the mat. 2! Still, Steve retained control, pulling Jackson up in a side headlock. Jackson fought back with shots to the kidneys. He tried to lift Steve for a back suplex, but Steve blocked it. And again. Schoolboy roll-up from Jackson! 2! Steve rushed after Jackson, who jumped out onto the apron. Jay menaced Jackson, but Jackson stayed on the apron, nimbly swinging around the turnbuckle rather than dropping out to the floor. He waited for Steve to give him some space before re-entering the ring.

Steve and Jackson squared off some before tying up, Steve forcing Jackson back into the corner. Steve reared back for a big right hand, but Jackson ducked under, schoolboy! 2! Steve popped up to his feet, caught a clubbing axehandle from Jackson! 1! Steve shook his head, incensed, his frustration allowing Jackson to railroad him into the corner and smash his face into the turnbuckle several times. Back suplex -- got it! 2! Steve sat up, checking his mouth and shaking his head. Jackson brought Steve up to his feet and softened him with chops to the chest, then shot him off the ropes, caught him with a flying forearm! Jackson hit the ropes again, big splash, Steve out of the way! Jackson groaned, feeling the effects of the canvas. As he rose, Steve charged in and slammed his knee into the side of Jackson's head. Steve brought Jackson back to his feet, BUTTERFLY SUPLEX! 2.5!

Steve stomped Jackson to keep him on the mat before heading to the turnbuckle, but Jackson managed to get some distance before Steve was on the top. Steve simply jumped down and went right back after Jackson, peppering him with right hands. He brought Jackson to his feet, DELAYED VERTICAL SUPLEX! 2.6! Maloka cheered Jackson on from the outside. Steve climbed to the second rope and flipped Maloka off. Jackson got to his feet, DROPKICK -- NOBODY HOME! JACKSON DRILLED STEVE WITH A DDT! 2.5! Jackson peeled Steve off the mat, DDT number two -- blocked! Steve countered with a Northern Lights -- blocked! Jackson flipped Steve with a judo-style hiptoss, then went to the second rope himself, SENTON SPLASH -- KNEES! Steve shook his head clear as he got to his feet, bringing Jackson along with him. SCOOP SLAM BACKBREAKER! BRITISH RACK! Jackson got the ropes! Steve pulled Jackson away and climbed up to the top, DIVING DOUBLE KNEES TO JACKSON'S BACK! 3!
Winner: Stephen Mathers by pinfall (diving double knee drop, 14:29)

Alexander Shaw headed down to the ring for his match. Before his opponent arrived, John Hurst and LIONS F.C. came down to ringside. Hurst announced that he'd made his choice for a person to enter A~4: Josh Cameron! Cameron looked extremely pleased, while Shaw looked the reverse.

First-Time Showdown: Alexander Shaw vs. Andre Miller
Miller rocked Shaw with early forearm shots. He whipped Shaw into the corner, but Shaw reversed it, then came charging in with a brutal front elbow shot! Shaw snapmared Miller over and then booted the back of his skull. 2! Shaw didn't let up, pulling Miller to his feet and dropping him with a reverse suplex slam, then quickly locking in a Boston crab. Miller fought it, eventually reaching the ropes. Shaw pulled Miller away and locked the hold back in, wrenching back hard. When Miller didn't give after several seconds, Shaw let go and brought Miller back to his feet. Miller fired a few elbow shots into Shaw's stomach and dropped Shaw's face onto his knee, then hit the ropes, seeking a lariat, COUNTERED INTO A HUGE BELLY-TO-BELLY SUPLEX! Miller grabbed his back until Shaw came over and stretched him with a seated surfboard. Miller shook his head, not giving up.

Shaw released the hold, but stayed on the attack, delivering a series of shivering elbows to Miller's spine. Shaw rolled Miller over in a bow and arrow hold, but Miller reached out and seized the ropes. Shaw wasted no time in pulling Miller up and shooting him into the ropes. Miller jumped to the second rope, SPRINGBOARD CROSSBODY! 2! Miller felt the fire burning, shaking his fists as he got up, threw the right hand, COUNTERED INTO AN STO BACKBREAKER! Shaw with the vertical surfboard stretch! Miller gave!
Winner: Alexander Shaw by submission (surfboard stretch, 8:33)

Shaw shouted at the absent LFC, telling Hurst that his tricks and his ego were gonna come to nothing after Shaw comes out on top at A~4!

Lex Fox came down to the ring next and got a mic. He ran down his opponent Dash Springfield and the crowd, calling everyone stupid and using a lot of technical jargon. He said that the Dawn of the Digital Age was upon us.

A~4 Qualifying Heat: Dash Springfield vs. Lex Fox
Springfield and Fox circled around for a bit, teasing tie-ups and tests of strength. They traded armwringers and headlocks, but always seemed to escape quickly and restart the process. Fox finally scored a knee lift, then hit the ropes, ate a dropkick from Springfield! Both men took their time in getting up again, but this time they locked up in earnest. Springfield got the headlock and wrenched it in, then spun into a takeover and a grounded headlock. Fox tried for the headscissors, missed, then got it. Springfield kipped up out of it, then snapped a dropkick into Fox's face again. Fox slid out of the ring and slapped the apron in frustration. Springfield catwalk-strutted and posed for the crowd. Fox rolled back in and waved Springfield in. Springfield rushed with a lariat, Fox ducked, SUPERKICK -- Springfield backed off! Springfield pointed to his temple to show he had brains. They resumed their circling.

Fox secured a headlock this time, keeping it locked as Springfield tried everything he could to escape. Finally, Springfield charged forward, shoving Fox into the turnbuckles, but Fox ran up them and backflipped off, schoolboy roll-up! 2! FOX SUPERKICKED -- caught! Springfield turned it into an STF! Fox quickly got the ropes. Springfield pushed Fox into the corner, chop, chop, spinning chop! "Whoo!" Springfield with a dropkick, Fox out of the way! Springfield rushed in but got caught with a fireman's carry, and then a buzzsaw kick to the side of the head! 2! Fox with a standing moonsault, ate the knees! Springfield hung Fox up on the top rope, hit the ropes, CATWALK (rope-assisted dropkick to the back of Fox's head)! Fox flopped back onto his back, Springfield covered: 2 -- ropes! Springfield peeled Fox off the mat, snap suplex! 2.5! Springfield hooked in a rear chinlock, grounding Fox. Fox managed to get his foot on the ropes.

Springfield brought Fox to his feet and chopped him across the chest repeatedly. He took Fox over with an armdrag and attempted to lock in the seated armbar, but Fox narrowly escaped. Fox rushed back to his feet but got caught with a back body drop from Springfield. Fox struggled to his feet again, dropkick from Springfield -- evaded! Fox laid in wait, SUPERKICK -- FLUSH! 2.5! Fox climbed to the second rope, twisting crossbody! 2.7! Springfield tried to slide out of the ring, but Fox caught him and dragged him back in. Fox to the top rope, DOVE OFF WITH A MOONSAULT! 2.7 -- ropes! Fox shouted his frustration. He held the ropes, waiting to score another superkick. HE THREW -- HE WHIFFED! Springfield out onto the apron. Fox went to follow, shoulder to the gut! Sunset flip! 2.5! Both men got to their feet, FOX BLASTED SPRINGFIELD WITH A STEP-UP ENZUIGIRI! Bulldog! 2.8 -- foot on the ropes!

Fox pulled Springfield up and pushed him into the corner, serving up stiff kicks to the stomach. Springfield shook his head, trying to get his bearings back. Fox muscled Springfield up onto the top rope and followed him up. He hooked Springfield for a superplex, but Springfield fought with rights to the ribs. Fox tried to reassert control with rights of his own. They teetered on the top. Springfield pushed Fox out to arm's length: "KARATEEEE CHOP!" Fox fell off the top after the chop to the forehead, landing on his feet and staggering back. MISSILE DROPKICK! 3!
Winner: Dash Springfield by pinfall (missile dropkick, 17:40)

A~4 Qualifying Heat: Javier Sikkan vs. D.R. Kongo
Kongo rushed at Sikkan as early as possible, causing Sikkan to bail out of the ring. Kongo followed him out, but Sikkan rolled back inside. Sikkan continued to evade by slipping out onto the apron, then backrolling over the top and over Kongo, hitting the ropes and throwing a corkscrew kick which Kongo ducked, STRONG KICK NAILED SIKKAN! 2! Kongo shoved Sikkan into the corner and laid in kick after kick, drumming Sikkan's ribs. Sikkan caught one, swept Kongo's other leg out, and flipped over for a jackknife pin: 1 Both men up, Sikkan took Kongo over with a huracanrana! 2! Sikkan to the apron, SLINGSHOT CROSSBODY! 2! Sikkan laid in wait, BUZZSAW KICK -- Kongo flattened to avoid it! Sikkan with a kick to the ribs, caught, Kongo drilled Sikkan with a series of stiff kicks, capture suplex! Both men laid on the mat, taking a bit to recover after that sprint.

Sikkan got to his feet first, controlling Kongo by the afro. He laid in some chops and then scored an afro mare, following it with a dropkick to the back of Kongo's head. Sikkan brought Kongo up by the afro again and scoop slammed him, then climbed to the second rope and came off with a leg drop! 2.5! Sikkan repeated the scoop slam, pointed to the ceiling, and went up top. MOONSAULT -- knees up! Sikkan landed on his feet! He pulled Kongo away from the ropes by the legs and flipped over for a jackknife pin: 2.5! Sikkan sank in an STF! Kongo tried to push up, but couldn't get any leverage. He didn't quit, though. Sikkan released the hold, turned it into a sickle hold! Kongo still didn't give! Sikkan let go, climbed up to the top, FLYING STOMP ONTO KONGO'S BACK! 2.8 -- ropes!

Kongo pulled himself out to the floor, resting against the apron. Sikkan hit the ropes and came back with a baseball slide, but Kongo avoided it, rolling back into the ring. Sikkan hopped to the top rope for a springboard, but Kongo scooped him onto his shoulders, forward roll fireman's carry slam! Kongo to the second rope, elbow drop -- Sikkan rolled away! Headscissors submission! Sikkan pushed himself up for leverage, using the ropes when the ref wasn't looking. Kongo shook his head, doing his best to fight away. Kongo reached his foot to the ropes, but Sikkan rolled over, drawing Kongo away from the ropes while keeping the hold cinched in. Kongo began to bridge up, but Sikkan responded by sinking his hips down and releasing the hold, sprinting into the ropes and rushing back to snap off a legdrop! 2.8!

Sikkan brought Kongo up by his afro and snap suplexed him to the mat hard. Sikkan slithered out to the apron and climbed up to the top rope, holding his arms out to the sides to call for his finish. HOLY DIVE -- KONGO OUT OF THE WAY! Sikkan grabbed his back in pain, getting to his feet slowly, STRONG KICK TOOK SIKKAN'S HEAD OFF! With Sikkan down, Kongo took the opportunity to crawl away, using the distance to recover himself. Sikkan pulled himself up using the ropes, but before he could get all the way to his feet, Kongo rushed him and drilled him with a big back suplex! 2.5! Kongo pulled Sikkan back to his feet, BRIDGING GERMAN! 2.6! Kongo brought Sikkan up again and began to assault him with kicks: side kicks, sole butts, front kicks, everything in his arsenal. Kongo hit the ropes, YAKUZA KICK! 2.8! Josh Cameron came down to the ring, but Kongo paid no attention to him. Fisherman's suplex! 2.8!

Kongo screamed at the crowd to show his determination and get them on his side. He pulled Sikkan up, but Sikkan fought back with elbows. Sikkan charged the ropes, ATE A FLYING LEG LARIAT FROM KONGO! 2.8! Kongo rose somewhat slowly, but he still kept the advantage with a sole butt to Sikkan's stomach. He whipped Sikkan into the corner and followed in with a charging knee to the ribs. Kongo ran to the other corner, hanging there to size Sikkan up. He made to run back across, but Cameron clipped his foot and Kongo crashed face-first to the mat! This gave Sikkan the time he needed to get himself back in order and he marched across the ring, pulling Kongo to his feet, BRAINBUSTER! Sikkan took a breath and then scaled the ropes to the top. HOLY DIVE -- CONNECTED! It's all over! 3!
Winner: Javier Sikkan by pinfall (Holy Dive, 23:14)

Cameron smirked smugly as he headed to the back.
