The heat on last Saturday's ALPHA 19: System Crash was intense with the announcement of A+ to come in four weeks. Nobody was looking past this week, however, especially not the Surf Ninjas, Barron Ulysses, Lex Fox, and the Royal Lancers, who squared off in a huge six man tag main event! If you missed the show, don't fret, just order it on demand by calling 1 800 MOD ERNV or visiting www.modernvision.com now! Our fanatic fan reporter Charlie Reager came through with our report yet again! ![]() alpha.nearzone.com ALPHA 12 System Crash 8.28.10 There look to be about 300 people in the arena tonight. Daniel Stann came out to start the show. He announced that in four weeks, on September 25th, ALPHA would hold its first A+ special! A lot of changes would take place on the show, and to top it all off, the show would be main evented by a defense of the King of Savage title! This brought out Anton Assault with an announcement of his own. He said that a challenger still needed to be named for his match at A+. Anton said that the two men he was considering were Josh Cameron and Nathan Rageous. Stann objected. Anton said he knew Stann was going to object, so he already thought of a compromise. Next week, a six-man tag match would take place: three LIONS vs. Alexander Shaw and whoever he can get together. If the LIONS won, Anton would choose the KoS challenger for A+. If Shaw's militia won, Stann would choose. Shaw came out at this point, telling Stann to accept those terms. Stann seemed reluctant, but he said yes! Proving Out: Javier Sikkan vs. Maurice Thompson Thompson got the jump on Sikkan early on, putting his grappling skills to use in order to keep Sikkan from getting away from him. Thompson threw Sikkan over with a dragon screw, but before he could follow up Sikkan headed to the outside. Thompson followed him out, but Sikkan retreated inside the ring. Frustrated, Thompson headed back in, where Sikkan asserted control of the match. Sikkan used the ropes to his advantage, bouncing off them like a ping pong ball and laying in heavy attacks, keeping Thompson reeling. Sikkan hit the ropes, Thompson leapfrogged over, DROPKICKED SIKKAN ON THE REBOUND! 2! Thompson hooked Sikkan up, snap suplex! 2! Thompson tried for another, Sikkan spun out, savate kick to the jaw! SUPERKICK TO THE SIDE OF THE SKULL! LA QUEBRADA -- knees! Thompson rolled out onto the apron, taking his time to recover. Once he saw Sikkan get to his feet, he jumped to the top rope, SPRINGBOARD CLOTHESLINE -- missed! Thompson landed on his feet, but Sikkan recovered more quickly, firing off rapid kicks to Thompson's ribs. Snapmared Thomspon over, BUZZSAW KICK -- Thompson flattened to evade! MOONSAULT -- Thompson rolled away! Caught Sikkan in a cobra clutch, JOURNEY TO THE VALLEY (cobra clutch legsweep)! 2.7! Thompson sank in the full nelson. Sikkan groaned in pain, but it started to seem like he was enjoying himself! Thompson released the hold in disgust, Sikkan kicked Thompson in the forehead! Small package: 2.9! Both men shot to their feet, dropkick took Sikkan right back down! ARABIAN PRESS! 3! Winner: Maurice Thompson by pinfall (Arabian press pin, 10:34) Tag Team Scuffle, Eh?: Doug Chase & Jake Landell vs. Canada's Finest (Eddie Traveller and Jean LaFrench) Jake Landell and Eddie Traveller started the match off with quick exchanges and holds, but it wasn't long before Landell fell victim to the polished tag team strategies of Canada's Finest. Incorporating frequent tags and consistent punishment, Canada's Finest picked Landell apart for the first several minutes, Landell managing to mount unsubstantial offense here and there. Jean LaFrench utilized his strength, frequently lifting Landell into various slams and suplexes, preventing the tag to Doug Chase whenever it was attempted. Any time that Landell showed fire, LaFrench or Traveller would work him back into their corner and slow him down again, the fresh Chase anxious for the tag. After some lengthy tag in/tag out work in the corner, LaFrench tagged himself in and dragged the smaller Landell to the center of the ring. He lifted Landell high into the air and drove him down with a massive brainbuster! Chase managed to make it in long enough to break up the pin attempt that surely would have ended the match, but the referee quickly ejected him back to the apron, leaving a dazed Landell to fend for himself once more. LaFrench called in Traveller and the the two sent Landell to the ropes, poised for a double back body drop on the return. Landell quickly planed a kick to the chest of LaFrench and dropped Traveller with a beautiful high dropkick! Landell crawled toward Chase's outstretched hand! LaFrench got back to Landell before he could make the tag and grabbed his foot. Landell hopped up to his free leg. LaFrench ducked an enziguri attempt, but Landell rolled through and made the tag to Chase! Chase shot through the ropes as Landell rolled to the apron exhausted. Chase came in full of energy and was able to bump LaFrench a few times, but LaFrench managed to tag in Traveller. Chase and Traveller went back and forth, but Traveller's speed proved to be too much for Chase. With Chase tired, Traveller tagged LaFrench back in and Chase was worked over. LaFrench sent Chase into the ropes. Blind tag from Landell! Chase was leveled with a big boot to the face on the return. Landell climbed to the top rope but, thanks to the warning from Traveller, LaFrench saw him coming! Landell was caught out of the air in a vice grip bear hug! LaFrench walked backward towards his corner, absorbing weak shots to the head from Landell. Traveller slaps LaFrench's back and climbs the ropes. LaFrench tightened the squeeze and Landell faded, his head dropping up and down slowly, disoriented. Traveller leaped from the ropes, FINEST FINISH (elevated bearhug/flying elbow smash)! LaFrench let the unconscious Landell fall to the mat so Traveller could make the cover. 3! Winners: Canada's Finest (Eddie Traveller+ and Jean LaFrench) by pinfall (Finest Finish on Landell, 13:06) Beauty and the Beast: Dash Springfield vs. Kevin Alloy Springfield kept his distance early on, but Alloy didn't expend the energy giving chase. Springfield darted in to land a series of dropkicks that staggered Alloy but didn't drop him. Springfield hit the ropes again, but this time Alloy rushed him and took him down with a heavy slap to the chest! Alloy slowed the match down considerably, taking the starch out of Springfield by brawling, keeping Springfield close to neutralize Springfield's mobility. He muscled Springfield into the corner and unloaded with rights and lefts, big suplex out of the corner! 2! Alloy leaned against the ropes, HUGE SPLASH -- Springfield out of the way! Springfield waited for Alloy to get up and then cinched in the rear waistlock, GERMAN SUPLEX -- no way! Alloy didn't budge! Springfield swung around, kneeing Alloy in the gut, HALF HATCH SUPLEX -- not a chance! Springfield clubbed Alloy over the back of the neck, tried it again, nothing! Springfield released the hold and dropkicked Alloy in the side of the head, sending the big man to a knee. John Hurst, Nathan Rageous, and Josh Cameron headed down to the ring. Springfield and Alloy watched warily as they surrounded the ring. Just before they could close off all sides, Springfield slid out of the ring, shaking his head. Alexander Shaw and D.R. Kongo charged down to the ring, but Springfield didn't stop, picking up his Just Wrestling Championship belt and heading to the back. Winner: Kevin Alloy by count-out (5:31) Hurst, Rageous, and Cameron jumped off the apron to confront Shaw and Kongo, resulting in a brawl. Kongo managed to roll Cameron into the ring and Shaw broke free to slide in as well, starting the match. An Old Score: Alexander Shaw vs. Josh Cameron Wasting no time, Shaw rained right hands down on Cameron's head, forcing Cameron to cover up. Shaw controlled things on the ground for a while, but Cameron was able to turn the tables. Cameron was obviously seeking the gator roll, but Shaw blocked it at every turn. Cameron resorted to an osoto gari drop and a grounded headlock, but Shaw quickly got the ropes. Cameron threw knees at Shaw's head, but Shaw weathered them, eventually breaking free and getting to his feet, jumping knee took Cameron to the mat! Shaw was extra aware of the LIONS outside the ring and attempted to end the match quickly, but he got sloppy, flubbing the falcon arrow, CAMERON SPIKED SHAW WITH A GERMAN SUPLEX! 2.5! GATOR ROLL -- shots to the stomach! Huge elbow shot! (On the outside, Rageous and Hurst overcame Kongo's valiant efforts and beat him down mercilessly. Once it looked as if Kongo wasn't getting up, they turned their attention to the match.) Both men recovered for a bit before getting back into it, throwing heavy hands before Cameron could return to his judo-style takedowns. Shaw fought back, getting an edge on Cameron by utilizing his stronger strikes and forcing Cameron into mistakes. Shaw did his best to keep away from the ropes, where Hurst and Rageous were waiting to trip him up. Shaw sunk in a front facelock, FALCON ARROW -- Cameron blocked! ROARING ELBOW! 2.6 -- ropes! Shaw dragged Cameron back to his feet, whipped him into the corner, reversed! Cameron charged in and Shaw surged out to catch him, tripped up by Hurst! GATOR ROLL CHOKE! Foot on the ropes! Cameron tried to keep Shaw to the mat, controlling him with a headlock, but Shaw managed to fight to one knee. Knees to the face from Cameron! Cinched him up for the gator roll again, Shaw lifted and slammed Cameron to the mat! STF! Cameron didn't tap, enduring the hold for a long while before Shaw decided to give it up. Shaw seemed to want to use the ropes several times for momentum, but the presence of Hurst and Rageous always dissuaded him. His preoccupation with the LIONS outside the ring gave Cameron the opportunity to get back into the fight, focusing on Shaw's neck and head. He backed Shaw into the corner and choked him with his boot until the four count, at which point he snapmared Shaw out and grounded him with a side headlock. Shaw grabbed the ropes, which prompted Cameron to pull him off the mat. PILEDRIVER -- no go! Cameron rocked Shaw with a European uppercut, hooked him up for a snap suplex, Shaw blocked! FALCON ARROW -- landed! 2.8 -- Hurst rushed the ring! The referee called for the bell! Winner: Alexander Shaw by disqualification (12:20) Hurst and Rageous stomped the hell out of Shaw. Hurst signaled to Rageous, who hiked Shaw high into the air, RAMACHANDRA! Hurst then pulled Shaw up and hooked him up back suplex style. Kongo hit the ring with the chair and LFC scattered! Kongo was obviously still hurt, but he hung around to make sure that the LIONS didn't come back to continue their assault. Coalition Warfare: Royal Lancers (Jay and Stephen Mathers) & Lex Fox vs. Surf Ninjas (Byron Maloka and Brian Jackson) & Barron Ulysses After a bit of dithering on the Lancers/Fox side, Fox and Maloka started things off. Both men kept the pace fairly quick for the opening moments, but Maloka always seemed to be just a hair ahead. Fox tagged out to Steve, whose power seemed to be a sufficient counter for Maloka. Both sides employed as much tagging as possible, though Ulysses didn't get into the match at all in the opening minutes. A series of tandem maneuvers from the Lancers kept Jackson down long enough for some near falls. The Lancers and Fox isolated Jackson from his unit, working him over in the corner. Jackson fought out and made the tag out to Maloka, who came in like a house of fire, taking out Steve and Fox, LARIAT FROM JAY FLIPPED MALOKA OVER! The Lancers/Fox team reasserted their control, baiting Ulysses and Jackson into getting into the ring and taking the ref's attention so that they could choke Maloka out or get in a quick tandem suplex. Maloka's heart prevented him from staying down for the three. Jay tagged Fox in, who went to work with chinlocks, keeping Maloka grounded and sapping him of energy. Fox brought Maloka to his feet, hit the ropes, ROLLBACK DRIVER -- Maloka got out of Dodge! Diving tag out to Ulysses! Fox was spooked and scrambled to tag out ot Jay! Ulysses beat Jay down with crushing overhand blows, making it look easy. He sent Jay into the ropes and caught him with a shoulder block. Steve got a blind tag, but though his surprise dropkick staggered Ulysses, it didn't take the big man off his feet. Ulysses began to make short work of Steve as well. He tossed Steve into the turnbuckle, HUGE CORNER SPLASH -- SMASHED HIM! Samoan drop! 2 -- Jay made the save! Jay tried to use the advantage he had, but Ulysses easily shrugged him off, then booted Steve to quit that surge of energy. Fox soared at Ulysses with a cross body block, caught! CRUSH RUSH -- Jay with the low blow! The ref didn't see it! TANDEM BULLDOG FROM JAY AND FOX! Steve scrambled for the cover: 2 -- Ulysses pressed Steve into the air! With the big buffalo shaken, the Lancers and Fox started using more of their tag strategy to get the edge, but it was still quite an uphill battle. A double lariat from Ulysses sent both Fox and Steve over the top rope, but Jay surprised Ulysses with a schoolboy: 2.5! Jay tried to employ Polish hammers to keep Ulysses down, but Ulysses rose despite it, catching Jay around the waist and PANCAKING HIM WITH A STANDING SPINEBUSTER! Tag out to Jackson, Ulysses hip tossed him over the ropes into a senton! Jackson tagged out to Maloka, Ulysses pressed Maloka high into the air, FROG SPLASH! Is that the fat lady!? 2.99 -- ropes! The Surf Ninjas went back on the attack, quick tags keeping them both fresh. A whip reversal sent Jackson into enemy territory, where Steve and Fox both attacked him from the apron. Jay worked himself up and charged in, but Jackson dodged out of the way! Fox blind tagged in. Jackson leapt for the tag, got Ulysses! Once again, Fox was not eager to mix it up with the big man, but this time Ulysses wasn't giving him much of a choice. Ulysses charged in, Fox slid underneath, dropkick to the back! Fox darted around and tagged in Steve, SLINGSHOT CROSSBODY -- headbutt to the gut! Ulysses whipped Steve into his team's corner and followed him in with a huge shoulder to the stomach! Jackson tagged in and suplexed Steve out of the corner. 2.7! Jackson seemed a bit worn down at this point, slow in capitalizing, and this gave Steve a chance to fight back. They brawled a bit, but Jackson secured a headlock and made it back to his corner where Maloka tagged in. TANDEM SUPLEX! Maloka springs to the top, SLINGSHOT MOONSAULT! Gotta be it! 2.8 -- Jay broke it up! It took Maloka a bit to get Steve back to his feet, but when he did, he whipped Steve into the ropes. Blind tag from Jay! HURACANRANA SNAPPED STEVE TO THE MAT! The referee wasn't counting! Maloka realized what's happening and got up just as Jay rushed the ring, RAF HURRICANE SNAPPED MALOKA IN HALF! 2.8 -- Jackson made the save! Fox sprinted across the ring, TACKLED ULYSSES THROUGH THE ROPES AND TO THE FLOOR! Jackson backed Jay into a corner and unloaded with right hands, Steve with a German suplex! Steve stepped out onto the apron, tagged in, Jay pulled Maloka up onto his shoulders, DEATH OR GLORY! (powerbomb/flying leg lariat) Count to 100! 3! Winners: Royal Lancers (Jay and Stephen+ Mathers) & Lex Fox by pinfall (Death or Glory on Maloka, 32:57) On the outside, Ulysses fed Fox stiff shots that had Fox fleeing back up the ramp, stumbling as best he could with his head spinning so fast. Inside, Jay tossed Jackson out of the ring. Chandra Taylor made her way down carrying a cricket bat. She got into the ring and handed it to Steve. Jay held Maloka's legs while Steve wailed away with the bat, Taylor scolding and shouting at Maloka the whole while. credits: chase/landell v. canada's finest: josh |
