We are one week removed from A+, and ALPHA 22: Making the Grade was a great lead-up to the show! There was one major development with ramifications for A+, as well as the stellar wrestling action you've come to expect from ALPHA!

Our admirable amateur article-man Charlie Reager once again came through with the show report. LINK: ALPHA 22: Making the Grade

ALPHA 22
Making the Grade
9.18.10
[/align]

The crowd was about 300 people tonight.

Daniel Stann interviewed Alexander Shaw first. Shaw said he had been training for his upcoming title bout against John Hurst, but he took a half day off in order to be here and ensure that Hurst and the LIONS F.C. didn't try to take advantage of either D.R. Kongo or Maurice Thompson like they did last week. This brought out Hurst himself, who smugly said that he didn't need to do anything of the sort this week as all the messages had been sent, and all there was left to do was to crush the Militia at A+.

Pwnage Round Two: Lex Fox vs. Jake Landell
Landell decides to start things off without waiting for Fox's antics, throwing right hands, then whipping Fox into the ropes and scoring an arm drag, capping things off with an armbar. Fox pulled Landell's leg out and got the upper hand, throwing forearms right into Landell's face. He pulled Landell up and booted him in the stomach, swinging neckbreaker! 2.5! Fox shot Landell into the ropes, Landell with a flying forearm that Fox dodged! BOOT LOADER (sole food)! Landell stumbled into the buckles, Fox stalked him, DDoS ATTACK! Fox wasn't done, however, climbing to the top rope, DIVING SENTON! 3!

Fox remained at ringside after his match, typing away on his laptop.

Back on the Train Tracks: Barron Ulysses & Doug Chase vs. Canada's Finest (Eddie Traveller and Jean LaFrench)
Traveller and Chase started things off, Chase attempting to put his bullish brawling to use but being stopped early on by Traveller's technical expertise. Canada's Finest traded tags, putting the hurt on Chase. Chase tried to get the tag several times but Canada's Finest kept him well away from his corner. Tandem suplex! Traveller hooked the leg, 2.5! Traveller laid in chops to Chase's chest, whipped him into the ropes, Chase took Traveller down with a shoulder block! Tag out to Ulysses! Traveller hurriedly tagged out to LaFrench!

Ulysses and LaFrench came chest to chest, Ulysses staring down at his Canadian counterpart. LaFrench grabbed Ulysses by the hair and snapped off a series of forearm shots to the face! He hit the ropes, shoulderblock staggered the big man! Again! Again! Right jab! BIG LEFT HOOK! Ulysses looked wobbly! LaFrench barely slipped off of Ulysses's shoulder as Traveller pulled himself up to the top rope, BULLDOG OFF THE TOP! 2.7! Traveller couldn't believe it!

Traveller tagged out to LaFrench and Canada's Finest muscled Ulysses up off the mat, whipped him into the ropes, Ulysses knocked them down with a double shoulder block! Ulysses stumbled to his corner and tagged Chase in, who quickly got to work in ejecting Traveller from the ring. Chase snapmared LaFrench over and locked in a chinlock, but LaFrench battled to his feet and lifted Chase, BACKBREAKER! 2.7! LaFrench seemed to handle Chase rather easily, tagging in and out with Traveller for some tag work. LaFrench hooked Chase up, SLINGSHOT SUPLEX! Cover! Traveller sprinted across the ring and dropkicked Ulysses off the apron! 3!
Winners: Canada's Finest (Eddie Traveller and Jean LaFrench+) by pinfall (slingshot suplex on Chase, 13:26)

Fox got up from his seat and ran around the ring to clobber Ulysses with the laptop, but Ulysses stopped the shot with one hand and slammed the laptop back into Fox's face! "YOU! WILL! BE! CRRRRUUUUUSSSHHHED!" He swung Fox onto his shoulder, CRUSH RUSH ON THE FLOOR -- Fox slipped out at the last second! By the time Ulysses recovered, Fox had escaped into the crowd.

Upending the Mountain: Josh Cameron vs. Kevin Alloy
Alloy taunted Cameron into making the first attack. Cameron was wary, but eventually shot in. He couldn't take Alloy down, though, and Alloy clubed Cameron over the back to take him down. Alloy controlled the match through sheer strength, muscling Cameron around the ring. Cameron managed to score some minor shots but didn't do much damage to Alloy. Whipped Cameron into the corner, HUGE AVALANCHE -- Cameron barely out of the way! Falling neckbreaker from Cameron! Shook the hell out of Alloy, bringing him down to the mat, GATOR ROLL CHOKE! Alloy tapped!

The Good Fight: D.R. Kongo vs. Nathan Rageous
Kongo and Rageous started things out early slinging blows. Rageous pulled Kongo up, shoulder thrusts took Kongo's wind out, then Rageous headed to the center of the ring, SPEAR!

Now incensed, Rageous seemed intent on punishing Kongo, and proceeded on that count with a debilitating bear hug. Dash Springfield headed down to the ring, followed shortly by the Royal Lancers. They addressed the challenge laid by the Surf Ninjas, saying that this was the perfect opportunity for them to beat the Ninjas into an unrecognizable pulp. After they agreed, the Ninjas appeared! Byron Maloka said it was great they said yes so quickly, because they just got through talking with Daniel Stann, who agreed to make the match a cricket bat ladder match! The Lancers were livid at being hoodwinked, but got little time to stew as Maurice Thompson made his appearance!

Anger Boils Over: Dash Springfield & Jay Mathers vs. Byron Maloka & Maurice Thompson
Thompson insisted on starting the match, even though Mathers repeatedly yelled for Maloka to "get his ass in the ring." Thompson and Mathers circled before locking up and Mathers powered Thompson back into the corner, unloading with right hands. Mathers employed a strategy of unleashing damage and then giving Thompson time to tag out, but Thompson refused, always coming back for more. Frustrated, Mathers whipped Thompson into the corner and followed with a lariat, but Thompson slipped around him and snapped him back with a Russian legsweep! Thompson controlled the bout for a minute, finally sending Mathers into the ropes and catching him with a spinning wheel kick before tagging out to Maloka.

Maloka and Thompson kept their tag work basic but effective, keeping Mathers from gaining much of an upper hand. Maloka hit the ropes and looked for a huracanrana, but Mathers kept his balance, BRITISH RACK -- Maloka scrambled out just in time! Mathers stopped Maloka's momentum with an elbow drop across the back. Mathers whipped Maloka into the ropes, reversed, blind tag from Springfield! Headscissors takedown flung Mathers away! Boot to the gut from Springfield, BIG HALF-HATCH SUPLEX! 2 -- Thompson broke it up! Springfield continued his work on Maloka's torqued left arm, grinding him down with armbars and throwing him around by that arm. Springfield tagged Mathers back in and whipped Maloka to Mathers, Maloka ducked the lariat, ran up to the second buckle and LAUNCHED HIMSELF INTO MATHERS WITH A NO-LOOK SHOULDER BLOCK! He scrambled for a tag, got it! Thompson unloaded a dropkick on Mathers! One for Springfield, sending him through the ropes!

Thompson's speed proved to be the decisive factor in his advantage over Mathers and he made sure to keep bouncing off the ropes to hit Mathers repeatedly. He went for pinfalls often, but Mathers always managed to pop a shoulder up. Thompson planted Mathers on his back with a snap suplex, climbed to the top, FLIGHT THROUGH THE WORLD (moonsault) -- knees! Mathers took a bit to gather himself, slowly climbing to his feet. MATHERS SWUNG A LARIAT -- BACK SUPLEX FROM THOMPSON! Both men on the mat! Maloka and Springfield begging for tags! Double tag out! Maloka and Springfield charged in, dropkick to Maloka's arm sent him down like a shot! SEATED ARMBAR! Maloka just barely crawled to the ropes!

Springfield dropped knees on Maloka's arm, wrenched in armbars, wrung the arm out, but nothing he could do would get Maloka to submit. Maloka finally tossed Springfield over with a Monkey flip and tagged in Thompson. Thompson took the fight right to Springfield, firing off stiff right hands, then whipping Springfield into the ropes, reversed, dropkick to the face sent Thompson down! Springfield tagged out to Mathers, allowing Mathers to peel Thompson off the mat and smash in forearm shots. Vertical suplex, countered into a small package! Springfield came to break it up, Maloka tried to block but Steve clipped his leg from the outside! 2.7 -- Springfield succeeded! Jackson mowed Steve down with a spinning back elbow! Mathers tagged out so he could help his brother on the floor. Springfield shoved Thompson into the corner, dropkick! Again! He hit the ropes and came back for yet another, Thompson rolled under, tagged out to Maloka! Maloka sprinted across the ring, BRUCE LEE KICK TOOK SPRINGFIELD'S HEAD OFF! 3!
Winner: Byron Maloka+ & Maurice Thompson by pinfall (Bruce Lee Kick on Springfield, 18:49)

The Mathers brothers continued their assault on Jackson outside the ring, laying their boots into him. Maloka dragged himself out to the apron, measured them up, charged down and took the Lancers out with a somersault senton! Maloka helped Jackson up and to the back, but Jay pulled a cricket bat out from under the ring! He assaulted the Ninjas with the cricket bat until RMC security separated the two sides!
