Friends, ALPHA, lend me your ears!
- Did you see last Saturday's spectacular A+ show? If you missed it, live or on pay-per-view, don't fret! You can still order it on demand by calling 1 800 MOD ERNV or visiting www.modernvision.com! Or, if you're a cheapskate, you can read the review and watch the two big matches right here on the ALPHA website! And don't worry, we won't tell all your friends what a penny pinching loser you are! We certainly aren't texting them right now!
- BIG NEWS announced at A+. In three weeks, on October 16, ALPHA will hold its first ADD (A Double Dash), the Red Mountain Relay! This will be a tag version of the famous A~ one-night tournaments and comes complete with a $16,000 prize for the winning team! On that night, four teams will do battle to see who will come out on top, but eight teams will have the chance to qualify at ALPHA 23 and 24! Who will climb over the opposition to win it all?
- John Hurst is STILL your King of Savage! Yes, in a grueling 30+ minute contest, John Hurst managed to defy the challenge of his bitter enemy Alexander Shaw and keep hold of the title. What does this mean for the title? Well, our brand-spanking-new interviewer Ed Keaton caught up with the celebrating LIONS Fight Club after A+ and got this statement from the champion:
"I am the champion. I proved it at A~4. I proved it tonight, at A+. And frankly, I don't need to prove it anymore. Who in ALPHA can challenge me? Shaw and his minutemen shot their wad already. I've beaten everybody else that matters. So as of this moment, I am suspending all title matches and declaring myself champion ad infinitum. No reason to dirty this title belt with useless challenges." LIONS Fight Club director, ALPHA co-magistrate, and arbitrator of the King of Savage title Anton Assault had no further comment. What exactly does this mean for ALPHA going forward?
- The hate-filled encounter between D.R. Kongo and Josh Cameron at A+ ended, shockingly, in Cameron's favor, which meant that Kongo had to take the long walk out of ALPHA and Cameron was rewarded with graduation into the ranks of LIONS Fight Club! Anton Assault has announced that a graduation ceremony will take place at ALPHA 23, as well as a celebration of Hurst's perpetual reign as champion!
- A round of new signings was made just before A+, including the blockbuster signing of former ACW wrestler Buddy Saxon! Saxon's miraculous recovery after his beating at the hands of his former mentor was touched upon in an interview he gave Ed Keaton at A+, as well as his prospects for the future here in ALPHA. VIDEO LINK: Buddy's First Words
- The big-name prospect will have a chance to prove himself early on as he teams with big, bad Barron Ulysses to take on the LIONS Fight Club team of Nathan Rageous and Rodrigo De La Zed in a ADD qualifying heat! Ulysses is coming off a humiliating loss to Lex Fox at A+, but has a chance to rectify it this week. The LIONS, on the other hand, are keen on continuing the roll they're on by getting one step closer to claiming Rageous and DLZ as the most dominant team in ALPHA... though they'll have to get through Ulysses and Saxon to do it!
- In the second ADD qualifying heat of the night, the Royal Lancers will take on the Militia team of Alexander Shaw and Maurice Thompson! Both Shaw and Thompson are coming off of losses at A+ and morale appears to be low in the Militia. To make matters worse, the Royal Lancers are acknowledged as the most polished unit in ALPHA currently, despite fighting to a brutal, Casino-clearing no contest with the Surf Ninjas last Saturday night. But never count Shaw and Thompson out, as both men are known for fighting hard and never giving up.
- "The Hot Topic" Dash Springfield and Maurice Thompson fought an excellent nearly twenty minute contest, but at the end, Springfield came out on top and, amazingly, the two shook hands! Later in the night, they both came to Shaw's aid, and though they were ultimately unsuccessful in fending off the LIONS Fight Club, their show of solidarity was a marked change from their relationship before A+. The issue between LIONS F.C. and the Militia is obviously not over, but how well will Springfield and Thompson work together going forward?
- The Creel Boys have come to ALPHA! Sylvester and Jonas Creel recently signed on the dotted line and will debut this Saturday at ALPHA 23 against Jake Landell and Doug Chase! The Creels have a great chance to put themselves on the map and they plan make a statement in a grand fashion!
- ALPHA officials have come to terms with the release of Lex "21st Century" Fox. We wish him the best.
- After weeks of careful consideration, ALPHA would like to announce the signing of Anh Karley Kompost, a Thai kathoey (male-to-female transgender) competitor. The gender of Kompost, as well as her ability to stand up to the punishment of an ALPHA ring, was the subject of much debate, but this week Kompost will make her debut against Andre Miller! Will Kompost prove her doubters wrong, or will Miller be able to pick up his first victory in an ALPHA ring?
- ALPHA has also signed Andrew Crow to a contract. The 24-year old is expected to make a big splash in ALPHA and we look forward to seeing just what he brings to the table.
- A+ has come and gone, and that means there are a slew of new opportunities in ALPHA! Do you think you can cut it? Send your application to the ALPHA head office today! - This Saturday, it's the aftermath of A+ when ALPHA 23: Graduation makes its way to the Prime Stage! What will happen in Josh Cameron's graduation ceremony? Who will qualify for ADD?
