There were about 350 people in attendance this week. A Princely Debut: Jake Landell vs. Prince Matautia Jake Landell had a hard time containing the Samoan newcomer Prince Matautia from the start. When the two tied up, Matautia immediately threw the much smaller Landell to the mat. Much of the same followed for the opening minutes, with Landell trying unsuccessfully to build some momentum. Landell found home with a strategy of stick and move, utilizing leg kicks short strikes to keep the oncoming Matautia distanced. Matautia wised up to the strategy quickly, however, catching Landell's leg on a kick attempt. Enziguri! Landell staggered Matautia and backed him to the ropes with quick punches to the head. Landell shot Matautia, only to be reversed and sent flying to the far ropes. Landell ducks a clothesline attempt! Landell hit the ropes again. Charging back elbow! Matautia killed Landell's momentum and controlled him for several minutes that were highlighted by a vicious T-Bone Suplex that nearly got the three count, eventually leading to Landell being locked in a camel clutch with Matautia throwing alternating clubbing strikes every few seconds. Landell crawled toward the ropes to break the hold, Matautia with a clubbing left! Landell crawled closer, more clubs from Matautia. When the two were within a few inches of the ropes, Matautia released the hold and grabbed Landell by the feet, dragging him back to the center of the ring where he dropped an elbow across his back! 2 count! Matautia grabbed Landell by the ears to lift him from the mat! Planted a kick to the gut and gave a cut throat sign while holding Landell by the back of his neck. He hooks Landell's own arm around his throat, setting up for Fa'a Samoa! Landell sat out and threw a kick back to Matautia's face! Landell rolled to his knees as Matautia advanced and leaped, connecting mid air with a stiff shoulder to the stomach, keeping Matautia back. Landell stood to his feet but had his punch blocked and countered by a stiff palm strike to the face! Matautia screamed and drove the downward elbow into Landell's head, following up with a savage headbutt, grabbing Landell by both sides of his head! He gives the cut throat signal again! Fa'a Samoa! 3! Winner: Prince Matautia by pinfall (Fa'a Samoa, 8:27) Kevin Alloy headed out to the ring for his $1000 slam challenge! This week, he opened it back up to anyone in the back, and a strange man headed out to try his luck. The man introduced himself as Jasyn Baine. Baine tried to lift Alloy a couple times and failed miserably. Then he started to attack Alloy with furious rights and lefts! Alloy quickly dumped Baine over the top rope and Baine scrambled back up the aisle. Backstage, Maurice Thompson got advice from his managers Jerry Horne and Lauren Jenkins. They seemed to agree that his next target should be Nathan Rageous, but were not sure whether or not he was ready. Thompson listened but didn't make a decision. ADD Qualifying Heat: Surf Ninjas (Byron Maloka and Brian Jackson) vs. Javier Sikkan & Anh Karley Kompost Kompost and Jackson started things off. Jackson was apprehensive at first, but a series of kicks to his ribs quickly cured him of that. Kompost utilized her strikes to knock Jackson around the ring until he got the tag out to Maloka, SPRINGBOARD CROSSBODY! 2! Kompost tried to continue her dominance, but Maloka proved too quick, hit-and-run offense keeping Kompost guessing until she managed to tag in to a leering Sikkan. Sikkan's agility matched Maloka's and they countered and dodged until Sikkan DRILLED MALOKA WITH A TORNADO DDT! 2.5 -- Jackson saved! Sikkan re-covered, forearm to the face: 2! Control of the match remained with Sikkan, but as he brought the match back up to speed, Maloka started to get his bearings back. Sikkan chopped Maloka down, twisted the arm and scaled the ropes, ARMDRAG! Maloka popped up and CAUGHT A CHARGING SIKKAN WITH A HEADSCISSORS TAKEDOWN! Hot tag out to Jackson, who came in like a house of fire, knocking Sikkan down several times, BIG NECKBREAKER! 2.5 -- Kompost broke it up! The Ninjas put their tag experience to work on Sikkan, keeping him away from their corner while they stacked up the damage. They repeatedly tried to end the match, but Sikkan's ring knowledge kept him in the match. Jackson whiffed a lariat, Sikkan with a handspring into the ropes, back elbow took Jackson to the mat! Sikkan leapt for the tag and got it! With Kompost back in, Jackson found himself on the receiving end of a beating, but this time he managed to get Maloka back into the match fairly quickly. Working as a unit, the Ninjas managed to keep Kompost from doing too much damage. Maloka took Kompost down with a wheel kick, tagged in Jackson, DIVING LEG DROP! 2.8! Jackson was in a fair bit of disbelief as he brought Kompost back to her feet, brawling away. This proved to be a bad decision as Kompost began to fire back with harder and more precise shots. ANH'D DOWN (codebreaker) -- Jackson hung onto the ropes! Tag out to Maloka, SLINGSHOT SPLASH -- boot to the mouth! Kompost got to her feet, ducked a wheel kick, PUMP KICK! Kompost leaned against the ropes to gather herself, then saw her opportunity was open and headed to make a tag, only to find Sikkan leering. She slapped him across the face to tag and threw him over the top rope! Sikkan rolled to his feet, BRUCE LEE KICK! 3! Kompost didn't even try to help. Winners: Surf Ninjas (Byron Maloka+ and Brian Jackson) by pinfall (Bruce Lee Kick on Sikkan, 14:20) Backstage, the Royal Lancers applauded the Surf Ninjas' success in getting into ADD. They said they were going to meet the Ninjas in the ring very soon. Monumental Test: Barron Ulysses vs. Andrew Crow Ulysses didn't come out of his corner, leaving Crow to warily size up the situation before going on the attack, battering Ulysses with strikes! Ulysses shoved Crow off several times, but Crow always came back for more. Ulysses finally bowled Crow over and came charging out, LARIAT -- Crow ducked! Up to the second rope, LEAPING BULLDOG! 2! Rather weak shoulder-up considering it was Ulysses. Crow stayed on task, dropping a series of elbows, then a standing senton. Ulysses slowly made it to his feet, swinging awkwardly at Crow, but Crow continued to put the pressure on Ulysses. Headbutts rocked Ulysses, slowly staggering him back into the ropes. Crow charged, rebounded off the ropes, KENKA KICK -- Ulysses caught the leg, SPINEBUSTER! 2.5! Ulysses shook his head, slowly bringing Crow to his feet. After the big spinebuster, Ulysses laid into Crow with rights, but his pace was sluggish and Crow took the advantage after a boot to the gut and a DDT! 2.6 -- another weak shoulder-up! Crow mounted Ulysses and unloaded with punches, making Ulysses cover up until he could shove Crow off. Ulysses struggled to his feet, Crow came in with a running knee to the side of the head! Crow looked to hook the arms, Ulysses shrugged his way out, CLUBBING LARIAT! 2.6! Ulysses was slow to bring Crow to his feet, sent him to the ropes, LARIAT -- Crow ducked! Rebounded off the ropes again! Ulysses ducked low, BIIIG BACK BODY DROP -- Crow held on, struggled and prevented himself from being thrown! He hooked the arms, R3S! Ulysses tapped! Winner: Andrew Crow by submission (R3S, 10:35) Backstage, Ed Keaton interviewed Alexander Shaw. Shaw was mostly sullen and evasive, and went silent when asked "what next?". Dash Springfield walked in on the scene, berating Shaw for just giving up. Springfield said that if he got past Buddy Saxon, he was going to face Shaw at ADD so he could knock some sense back into Shaw's head. ADD Qualifying Heat: Canada's Finest (Eddie Traveller and Jean LaFrench) vs. Creel Boys (Sylvester and Jonas Creel) Traveller and Sylvester started the match, Traveller trying for some holds but Sylvester keeping his distance. They finally locked up, Traveller being on the wrong side of the size equation and getting backed against the ropes so that LaFrench could tag in. Canada's Finest worked a pretty solid tag game, focusing on Sylvester's back. Traveller whipped Sylvester into LaFrench for a lariat, Sylvester under the arm, DUMPED LAFRENCH WITH A GERMAN! Tag out to Jonas, Traveller cut Jonas off with a back elbow shot! Canada's Finest transferred their attack to Jonas, Traveller locking in a surfboard that Sylvester tried to break up, only to be caught and ejected by LaFrench. Sylvester shot back up onto the apron and tried to get into the ring to break the hold, but he was stopped up by the referee! The Finest took this opportunity to employ the tried and true air tag strategy, clapping their hands to simulate a tag so they could move in and out freely, trading a Boston crab between them. Sylvester grew increasingly incorrigible, which only made the referee more vigilant, and gave the Finest more time. Eventually, Sylvester gave off and the referee started to ask Jonas if he was going to give up. When he didn't, LaFrench broke the hold and brought in Traveller. They sent Jonas into the ropes, FLAPJACK! The Finest dropped elbow after elbow onto Jonas's back, then Traveller dragged Jonas into the Canadian corner, cover: 2.7 -- Sylvester with the save! LaFrench mowed Sylvester over with a shoulderblock! Traveller cranked Jonas's spine back in a camel clutch, digging his knee into the small of Jonas's back. Jonas got the ropes, forcing the hold to break. Traveller tagged in LaFrench, TANDEM SUPLEX -- JONAS SWUNG OVER INTO A DOUBLE NECKBREAKER! Jonas crawling for the tag! He's hurt! Finest getting to their feet, dazed. Jonas leapt -- LaFrench got the leg! BACKBRAIN LARIAT -- Jonas ducked! Dropkick sent LaFrench stumbling! Hot tag out to Sylvester! Flying forearm knocked LaFrench to the mat! Again! Sent LaFrench into the ropes, flung him overhead with a belly-to-belly suplex! The momentum carried LaFrench over to where he could tag Traveller in, Sylvester caught Traveller in a sleeperhold, switched grips, BIG REVERSE SUPLEX! 2.6! Sylvester waited for Traveller to get up on all fours, hit the ropes, and blasted him with a dropkick to the temple. On fire, Sylvester went toe to toe with Traveller, uncorking right hands, clotheslines, hitting the ropes to add extra power to his attacks. Traveller battled back, both hit the ropes, SYLVESTER SPIKED TRAVELLER WITH A DDT! This whole while, Jonas recovered, and now he got the tag. SLINGSHOT LEG LARIAT! 2.8! Jonas wrapped Traveller up with an arm triangle and reared back, Traveller had nowhere to go! LaFrench with the save! Jonas didn't let that slow him down, tagging out to Sylvester so they could hit a big tandem lariat. Sylvester looked for the tag, but LaFrench pulled Jonas off the apron! Traveller with the reverse roll up, pulling the tights with one hand and hooking his other arm over the middle rope! 3! Winners: Canada's Finest (Eddie Traveller+ and Jean LaFrench) by pinfall (reverse roll-up on S. Creel, 19:39) The Creels immediately tried to strike back against Canada's Finest, but the Canadians bailed and hightailed it to the back in ignoble triumph. A handheld camera focused on Barron Ulysses sulking backstage through a crack in the freelancer locker room door. The husky male voice said he had found the perfect way for Ulysses to relieve his suffering. He said that his disciple had just finished testing the waters and the stage was set. The camera started into the room, Ulysses looked up, and the feed cut. A Just Challenge: Dash Springfield vs. Buddy Saxon Saxon extended a hand and Springfield, after some dithering, shook it. The two circled and then locked up, Springfield putting his technical know-how to use early on with a takedown to establish control. The feeling-out period was somewhat extended, neither man quite sure how to approach their opponent. Springfield shot Saxon into the ropes, Saxon with the cross body block! 2! Both men up quickly, SAXON SLAM -- Springfield swung around, mat slam brought Saxon hard to the canvas. Springfield caught Saxon with a dropkick, which bounced Saxon off the ropes, divorce court! Springfield quickly spun about, wrenching back hard on Saxon's arm until Saxon fought his way to the ropes. Springfield kept the advantage with arm submissions, grinding Saxon into the mat. Saxon managed to wriggle free, bringing the fight back up to a vertical base where he tried to pick the pace up, but Springfield matched him, catching him with a series of dropkicks, then a shoulder tackle takedown flipped into a jacknife pin! 2.5! Springfield got to his feet first and came on the attack, KIP-UP HURACANRANA! Saxon didn't have Springfield down for the cover, but he got to his feet and caught Springfield rising with a running forearm. Another! Laid in wait for Springfield, SAXON SLAM -- Springfield landed on his feet, hooked Saxon up and hung him on the top rope. Hit the ropes, CATWALK (rope-hung dropkick to back of head)! Springfield strutted before going for the cover. 2.7! Springfield went right back to the submissions game, twisting back Saxon's arm until Saxon got the ropes. Springfield toyed with Saxon a bit as he brought him to his feet, and he let the Prime Stage know who was in control as he continued to work Saxon over. As time went on, Saxon started to fight back further. Springfield snapmared Saxon to the mat and then climbed to the second buckle, facing away from the ring and slicking up his spikes. Saxon stormed to Springfield and slapped him hard on the back. When Springfield turned and jumped down, Saxon blistered him with a chop, and then it was on! A fired up Saxon bounced Springfield back and forth on the ropes, catching him with flying forearms and back elbows. Saxon took advantage of Springfield on the ground with elbow drops. The whole time, however, his momentum overshadowed his finishing instinct, and he didn't go for a cover. Saxon set up on the second rope, BIG DROPKICK -- Springfield out of the way! Half-hatch suplex! 2.8! Springfield brought Saxon to his feet, spinning neckbreaker! 2.9! Springfield pulled Saxon up again, DASHING DESIGN (bulldog into second turnbuckle) -- got him! Signal to the crowd, FASHION VICTIM -- nobody home! Saxon dropkicked Springfield chest-first into the buckles! "SAXON SLAM!" Hooked him up, Springfield rolled Saxon into a short-arm scissors! Saxon reached for the ropes with his arm! He stretched with his legs! He shook his head at the ref! He tapped! Winner: Dash Springfield by submission (short-arm scissors, 16:34) credits: landell v. matautia: josh |
