It's amazing how despite all these hiatuses, people keep coming back to
welcome Alamo Championship Wrestling every time. Now the crowd certainly
wasn't as big as the last time they ran a show in May, probably about 450
people strong here though at the Municipal Auditorium, aka ACW Arena.
Without a television presence at least for the time being, Keith Marshall
and Rhett Connors acted as hosts for the evenings. Their back and forth
commentary was pretty good, lots of humor especially with "Rhett-Con"
having no recollection of ACW's event back in May or for that matter any
history of the promotion at all.

The team of Lightning Quick, "Hotstuff" Heather Bloodgood and Babe
McKidd, came down to the ring to get the crowd pumped up, and before
their mystery opponents arrived the team of LQ hit stereo double
backflips off the top rope.

Then the lights went out for a few seconds, and when they returned a pair
of gorgeous women stood in the ring, raven haired and wearing matching
silver catsuits that managed to accentuate their curvy figures. The
crowd recognized them almost immediately as the Cordova Twins, late of
MBC and also known as the the New Throbbing Mattress Kittens.

Lightning Quick versus The New Throbbing Mattress Kittens
---------------------------------------------------------
Almost immediately the Cordovas pounced on Bloodgood and McKidd,
rocketing the two of them out of the ring with stereo catapults. An
aerial battle between the teams wowed the crowd, and a little later on a
full tower-of-doom situation caused a near standing ovation when Luna
tried a top rope superplex on Babe, only to have Bloodgood climb to the
second rope and set up for a german suplex on Luna... at which point
Aurora powerbombed Heather and sent all 3 crashing to the mat. McKidd
took the brunt of it all, and soon after was pinned following a top rope
splash from Aurora... I think. They are twins, afterall.

WINNERS: The New TMK

One of the two teams who debuted back in May, the Gunslingers, came out
to the ring to cut a promo. Calling themselves the "beer swilling, bar
brawling, gut busting Texas badboys" drew something of a mixed response
from the crowd, the kids and women in the crowd didn't seem to like them
but most of the guys did.

The Gunslingers versus Ellis and Tony Russo
-------------------------------------------
The 'Slingers, as they were nicknamed by Rhett-Con, made short work of
this brother duo from Chicago. "Cowboy" Roy gleefully pounded on the
much smaller Ellis Russo before trading off with his partner Tex Thomas
for some quick doubleteaming. A massive standing lariat dubbed the
Sloane Star took Ellis out of the match for good, while Tony soon fell to
the Yakuza From Hell for the three count. Total domination by the Texas
twosome, and a decidedly mixed crowd response didn't cool their
enthusiasm.

WINNERS: The Gunslingers

Next, Keith and Rhett played footage on the video screens from May, when
Kyra Braddock returned to ACW and joined with Jayde Griffen in attacking
Rosalee Perez and "Wild Animal" Sarah Mayson. They announced that nobody
has had contact with Sarah Mayson since and the fate of the Southwest
Women's Title is up in the air. Griffen and Braddock made their way out
to talk with the announcers, and explained that as a team they will be
unbeatable, and it's only a matter of time before ACW gets a healthy dose
of Estrogen, but that Perez will get herself a taste of it right now.

"Black" Jayde Griffen versus Rosalee Perez
------------------------------------------
Griffen climbed into the ring to square off with an antsy Perez, who was
eager to get payback from the last time they met. Perez stuck to her
submissions game and early on kept Jayde from getting the advantage, but
the numbers situation soon played a part as Jayde distracted the referee
and Braddock caught Perez in the back of the head with a kick and soon
afterwards Griffen nailed the Black Spiral for the victory. After the
match the team now known as Estrogen tried to further humiliate Perez,
but Taylor MacKenzie charged out and held the two at bay while Perez
slowly recovered. "Force 10" came over the speakers, and Taylor helped
Perez to the back.

WINNER: Jayde Griffen

The Southwest Tag Team Champions, "The Sensation Rocking The Nation"
Jamie Kidd and "Overkill" Joey Malone, came out next and were greeted
with loud cheers. They spoke about the tag team scene in ACW heating up,
and how tonight they were going to give a young pair a chance to make a
name for themselves.

Mark II versus Jamie Kidd & Joey Malone
---------------------------------------
A non-title match, the fresh new duo of Workman and Carney battled the
tag champs in a friendly competition. Kidd and Malone controlled a good
portion of the match, but the rookies held their own pretty well and
nearly stole a victory when Workman used a small package on Kidd during a
suplex attempt. In the end, Malone scored the win with a moonsault off
of his partner's back as Kidd knelt down on all fours beside Carney.
Post-match, the champs shook hands with Mark II to applause from the
crowd.

WINNERS: Jamie Kidd & "Overkill" Joey Malone

Once the ring was clear, the lights dimmed and "Seasons In The Abyss" hit
the PA system causing the crowd to explode into cheers.

The Omen versus H'Allen Oates
-----------------------------
Another quick and decisive victory, with the Omen steamrolling over his
unfortunately named opponent. A quick Mark of the Beast after about
thirty seconds put this one to bed, as the masked man heard a bevy of
cheers for his return.

As the Omen was leaving, he crossed paths with Quinn Murray, but somehow
a fight did not break out between the two. Instead Murray waltzed to the
ring and announced himself that his upcoming match was being held under
'loser leaves town' rules. He went on to add that "almost" nothing would
please him more than leaving "this miserable piece of crap promotion"...
except causing someone else to leave instead.

Quinn Murray versus Johnny Sunshine - Loser Leaves Town
-------------------------------------------------------
Despite being aligned with ACW, the crowd was not behind Johnny Sunshine
in the slightest. Murray showcased his skills to a hostile crowd,
punishing Johnny with a lot of maneuvers that otherwise would have
dazzled the audience. Instead, chants of "You Can Both Go" filled ACW
Arena, which only made Murray snicker and work Sunshine over harder. A
Hollywood Sidekick set up for the Fatal Frame and the three count, Murray
grinning wide as the ref called for the bell.

WINNER: Quinn Murray

With his loss, Sunshine realized that he was now unemployed. And began
to cry. The crowd was not sad to see him go, and began to sing:

"Na na na na, na na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye!"

And Johnny began to cry harder as he left for the last time. Murray
cackled as he told the crowd that it was just the beginning of the end
for their ACW heroes, which focused the crowd's hatred back on him.

Danny Holden versus Heath Chambers
----------------------------------
Holden, the rookie who made his debut last May by taking apart the newly
unemployed Johnny Sunshine, took on one of the MWA insurgents in Heath
Chambers and put on another technical clinic. Holden focused on his
opponent's arm and much like what he did to Sunshine before, finished up
with a cross armbar for the tapout victory. Post-match Holden again left
before his name was announced, drawing a mixed response from the crowd.

WINNER: Danny Holden

After Holden had left, an energetic young man jumped out of the crowd and
demanded interview time, only to have security quickly swarm him,
carrying him off as he repeatedly shouted: "I'm the Hoff! I'm the Hoff!"
as Keith and Rhett looked confused at the entire situation.

Just before the final match of the night, "Hellraiser" Tom Landis came
out to address the crowd. After asking what they thought of the "new
ACW" to positive response, he asked everyone if they remembered what his
last big announcement was, from back in May. A few people remembered and
started to chant "CAGE-OF-DEATH! CAGE-OF-DEATH!", and Tom nodded and
reaffirmed that even if it's several months later and ACW's fourth
birthday came and went, if there was one thing he was going to make sure
it was that the ACW and MWA issue would finally be settled. So at the
end of the month, on a special New Year's Eve show called "Countdown"
there would in fact be a huge ACW versus MWA main event inside the Cage
of Death.

This brought "Hollywood" Cody Jones and the Players Club out. An annoyed
Landis confirmed that Quinn Murray would be the MWA's captain, but told
Jones he'd have to earn the spot as ACW's, by winning the next match...

"Hollywood" Cody Jones versus James St. George
----------------------------------------------
And in what has become one of ACW's signature fueds, Jones and St. George
battled with ferocity over the captaincy Team ACW. No Fat Chicks
attempted to interfere several times, but were held at bay as Adam Drake
eventually took them out of play with a running double clothesline off
the guardrail, and all three were eventually thrown out by the official.
St. George looked to have things won with a running powerslam, but Jones
rolled from the ring quickly to avoid the cover. The match spilled to
the floor, where they were both counted out. It didn't stop the brawl
though, as Cody and James kept firing away until Murray and Cornelius
Gore popped up in the crowd and sent them both back into the ring.
Enemies or not, Jones and St. George managed to turn back the tide and
cleared the ring before coming face to face again in heated argument.

WINNER: Double Countout

As a result of the match ending as a no-contest, Landis popped back out
to announce that Cody and the Southwest Champion would be co-captains of
Team ACW. The show ended with Jones storming out, and St. George taking
pictures with the crowd.

A pretty good return to action for ACW, with a big show set for the end
of the year and the Cage of Death looming over everything.
