DSGDSHTRYNSBFSDVDFHNJYDGJNGFXGBJKM<YIUHGJFBVFSDFDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That was basically my reaction to the main event. Holy mother hugging smith. Annis! Tumaffi the unstoppable! Vasquez the bald! Epstein the dead! Trey DaMann pulling a Weekend at Bernies as the other faces marionette his body through a celebration! This had everything...and somehow Epstein ended up attacking himself!(He really does have bad luck, doesn't he?)

Now I can't even wait for the next SNR...3 months from now!

And get your "I believe in Juan Vasquez" tshirt today!

I was disappointed that Gamma Ray didn't somehow weasel his way into making at least a token appearance in the main event just to complete the title match marathon. He could've stolen Adam Rogers' seat or something.

And I'm kinda out of it from the new years celebration, but those are my initial thoughts for now.

Yeah, upon re-reading that DaMann celebration it does have serious "Weekend At Bernie's" vibes. What nobody saw was Epstein dragging the body over to cover himself.

Who knew Black Dahlia = murder?

The original plan was that Annis would be the REFEREE.

I thought that was still the plan, actually, so I was like "uhm, aren't we missing somebody?"

Having a 4-way is already chaotic enough as it is, having Annis jump in for the save is likely the better idea.

Anyways, judging by the face pop, whoever Annis is, it's a good addition since new faces are in great demand.

Annis is like hmmm...the UWF's Undertaker if we're going by stature in the e-w world. He's the first ever UWF world champion and the dude who by reputation could kill anyone in a one-on-one match...Tumaffi included.

His return is very much a huge deal. I was certainly marking out.

He's also the only character that as far as I know, won an iron man match by a margin of 6-1.

Did the other guy flake? Why would someone book an iron man match between such unevenly matched opponents? It doesn't make a lot of sense, lol!

But first UWF Champion or not, how can someone walk around sporting a nickname like "Epitome of Evil" not get thwarted by a heroic Gamma Ray?

Just when you thought you were running out of super-villains, a few more suddenly show up out of nowhere.

Actually, it worked very well. It was the final match of a tournament to decide the first UWF World champion. The other guy (Alex Kidd) was injured previously, so stepped in with the odds pretty well stacked against him, and Annis capitalized. This set up a dominant champion, which made Youth Gone Wild's title win over him that much more important and impactful.

Ah Mike, 13 years later, and we're still questioning your booking decissions. ;-)

Hey now, I didn't say it couldn't make sense, just that it's the kind of thing that is a bit baffling if you don't put it in the proper context.

Such a result for an Iron Man match as a tournament final against an injured babyface (I assume) makes sense.

So reading that epic Whitecross/Martin match, I ran across this quote...

AM: Sudden pinning combinations are not only effective, but people HATE
losing that way! Many years ago, Alex Martinez lost a title match to a
sudden backslide counter, and he's never gotten over that. Had Martin
been pinned there, he'd have hit the ceiling!

...oh Oz Rivera.

I remember Johnny Axis had the very same problem in RCW too.

Funny enough, both guys lost to Juan Vasquez that way.

And then Luke Kinsey beatdown Vasquez when he pinned him the very same way...

...Coincidence?

Cancer victim punch and psychotic break roll-up pin! The man's move arsenal should be banned!

...but seriously, Jeremy did an amazing job on that match. If all matches were like that, I don't care how long it takes to write them.
